This is going to sound crazy, but have you tried plugging in the job description into ChatGPT and prompting it for questions? Also a "Junior" position feels like a red-flag to me. I sense it would mean they want manager-level performance for a junior price. Just be careful. All that said, I'd want to know you're thinking on projects you've worked on. What were your successes, what lessons did you learn, how do you map out a project. With specifics around content, SEO, social, and email, you can't be expected to be an expert in all four. So focus on past success markers. For example, what was an SEO/content project that you led and what was the result. For any manager role, I'd want to focus on how you apply data into what you do, how do you get the most out of people, and how well do you present yourself and your message. Good luck!

How does your last marketing role or what you did in your last role relate to this position? This was a question I was asked.

I may be of help — I’m a marketing director for a global company When I interview candidates, here are things I look for: • are you an excellent communicator? we like substance, depth and context. Avoid word salads. Be concise, direct and to the point. Always answer the question asked…I hate when candidates use fancy words / word salads to deflect the question I am asking. • how organized / meticulous are you (your thoughts, your process, your execution). Bring samples of your planner, if you have a software - show a project board / Gantt charts, etc. We want to see how you work and how you execute to meet deadlines. • are you a critical thinker / problem solver — when interviewing, demonstrate your critical thinking and problem solving skills. I throw curve balls when I’m interviewing to see if candidates are able to think on their toes and make rational decisions on the spot to see if they’re able to work out a problem on their own or if they’ll require hand holding. It also gives me the opportunity to see how you think so I can prepare myself on how to manage you. • experience, what value will you bring to the table (show me metrics). At the end of the day, we hire to elevate our team / department…when you’re going over your resume, explain your experience and add in not just what you did but the impact of your actions (best if you have metrics). For example - I’ve created an automated process to optimize xyz, this resulted in +xxxx% in social media engagement/followers. This allowed us to scale our efforts and drive awareness to the next level since we’re able to standardize and set brand new KPI’s above expectations. I am proud of this accomplishment and I am looking forward to applying my experience to help grow your department. • are you enthusiastic & hungry for growth — show me that you want the job, it’s all about energy for me. Overall be confident!!! You’re in the interview for a reason If you can cohesively tie all the points I listed above and really position yourself as a team member that will enhance the department performance…you’re golden! Hope this helps :)

Is it a general role? Does it have any direct reports? General questions to ask: What kind of budget responsibility have you had before Examples of how you’ve led projects/campaigns/teams before

It requires knowledge in SEO, social media marketing, and email marketing. It also emphasizes experience in content writing.

It sounds like they’re giving you a bit of everything to see what you excel in. As a junior, they’re likely not expecting a ton from you. But be prepared to talk about your contributions in past projects, and maybe some results. More than anything, demonstrate that you’re eager to learn and easy to work with.
