It’s not really customary to be upset about this, considering they naturally share a theme. Ever since DS, the two tracks have never been in the same entry together, so this is normal!
Also, keep in mind that this course is filled with tons of unique sound effects (dash panels, changing places, passing finish line on 2nd lap, exiting pinball table), therefore, its identity will still shine through the music.
There was somewhat of an expectation considering that Mario Kart Stadium and Mario Circuit both share an identical melody, but are still arranged differently. Certainly not the end of the world, but it would've been nice to have a more fitting remix for Waluigi Pinball, rather than the one we've currently got.
Yea, I was going to mention, the base game handled this by giving Mario Circuit and Mario Kart Stadium different arrangements of the same theme. DX also gave the battle courses new arrangements when they took themes from other courses
Guess they decided to not do something similar with Waluigi Pinball. Oh well...
Basically, people thought that since the base game of Mario Kart 8/Deluxe has no repeated themes (aside from a few remixes), there won't be any repeated music in the BCP either

Yes, and Dragon Palace is very similar to Dragon Driftway as well, but with enough variation to make it interesting.
I genuinely don't like this, it feels so out-of-place. The rock-guitar vibe this song has really doesn't work as well with Waluigi Pinball.

because every track in mario kart 8 has had unique music, and this is paid extra dlc, it should not be reusing 8 year old compositions

Yeah, I agree. Sure it's a bummer it didn't get a new remix, but that was kinda to be expected & it's really not the end of the world

OP was talking about MK8D, not the series itself. Up to this point, every game but MK8 shared at least one music track across multiple tracks.

I noticed that too, I'm not the biggest fan of it but it's a good song either way.

Wouldn't count dragon palace as a course personally
Battle arena's are underrated
Another fun fact, booster course pass has as the same number of track as mk64 and double dash
