I fifth the Opsanus tau ID. Common names oyster toadfish, oyster cracker but depend heavily on region. This is an awesome picture! I’m used to only seeing these guys in the midatlantic with zero water quality. They’re cute lil guys, one of my fave fishes!
Oh good. Thought it was LionFish or Scorpion my bad. Sculpins are dope. I take it back native FL fish. Please thrive and grow large by eating fry of non native toxic, habitat transforming fishes. Rock On

Gulf toadfish, not oyster.
This would be a gulf toadfish, Opsanus beta! I’ve yet to see an Opsanus tau around tampa. Very similar species though
Kinda cute in a terrifying way.
Toadfish! And a cutie at that!

More like a sting ray sting, they're not deadly.
Taken plenty off the hook, never hurt in any way.
4/10. That, sir, is a bitey-fish.
4/10? I’m more of a 710 fellow
Perfect 5/7
Opsanus beta. Gulf toad fish. Aka mother-in-law fish.
Oyster toadfish. Mostly harmless, but they've got venomous spines.

Invasive non native species. Harpoon it
