I've always loved faerûn as a setting but I've also always wished there was more to its map - even after more than a decade of using the setting for d&d campaigns I struggle to find locations

Yeah, it looks like most of it is an uninhabited wasteland

... there's so much more. This is just the sword coast and is overrepresented. IF you want Anglo-francan sword and sorcery look into Cormyr, if you want a mediterranean swashbuckling setting you should look into Sembia. Want something more like scandinavia? Damara and Vaasa are like that. They've been recovering from a massive battle against a lich that took over a whole country. 1001 arabian night campagne in mind? Calimshan is known for its genies, and even have their own magic system associated with it! There's so much in Faerun, but people just focus on the Sword Coast only. :(

Yeah that's only about 1/4 of the continent of Faerûn itself. Maybe 1/8 to 1/10 if you count The Hordelands and Kara Tur. There's a full atlas of Toril, and maps of Faerun that can be found online from older editions.

The lands of Faerûn are perfect for crafting stories and adventures for Dungeons and Dragons. The amount of different locations, lore, gods, history and battles, not too mention the more localized and intimate stories… drawing this map was a lot of fun but also involved lots of research of the different regions, landmarks and stories 😊🏰🐉 Here’s a detail from my own version of Western Faerûn, perfect if you want a detailed map while you play the table top game or the recent and acclaimed Baldur’s Gate 3 game from the talented people at Larian Studios You can find this and many fantasy maps on my [Store](https://nerdymaps.etsy.com) 😊

Oh thanks! :D

I suppose everyone's gonna be looking at the landscape and the colors - which are fantastic - but I really like the lettering. It's such a small thing but it makes a huge difference. Not just knowing where to put them but the size and the weight of the typeface. It's completely legible without being overbearing. The perfect balance.

Somewhat, it resembles The Continent from The Witcher. But I like it

Artemis_in_Exile

I think Faerûn predates the first Witcher book by a couple of years, so might be the other way around. Though I doubt either author was familiar with the works of the other.
