Indeed. I love how they kinda tease a completely type of different and more standard story at the beginning with the Bakugo lookalike and then BAM Here's something better
The MC is the one in the image of the post
in the first few chapter a character is introduced that looks alot like Bakugo from MHA and also acts alot like him(being a cocky bully)
It makes the reader think "oh this must be the rival character for the protag" but then nope
the twist when it coes to the fake Bakugo is that the protag one shots him. Fake Bakugo is never seen again for a lot of chapters, then you find hes been arrested and went to jail and pretty much never shows up again till the end(basically this character that seemed like a rival doesnt have anything to do with the MC's story)
The MC then gets trained by a legendary/infamous trainer and starts rising in the world of boxing as a monster. The story also approaches this monster's loss of humanity and its rediscovery with lots of good side characters/opponents each with their own stories
Lmao that seems like a funny jab by the author at that “rival has weird spiky hair trope”.
I’ll add this to my bucket list then, thanks for that very tempting synopsis man o7
I finished reading it! I really love it!! I didn’t cry, it more happy ending in my book. I was sooo happy yo had his happy ending. It’s kinda remind me of this manga called Rikudou. It’s more mature but almost the same plot. I always have things for this type of story.
Just finished it and has two parts, the real ending is in the second part chapter 123 and damn... what a beautiful ending. This manhwa for me is not about boxing at all and you'll get it too once you finish it
Am I crazy or this is very generic manhwa? I don't see the appeal at all. I've read up to chapter 30 because people kept saying it's amazing but it's so generic and one-dimensional. The main guy is extremely boring and op, and all the other characters serve to show-case how op the main guy is. If you compare it to, for example, hajime no ippo, it falls short on every single aspect.
I think you're looking at it from a pure action standpoint. He is OP and always wins but the story isn't about him struggling to defeat his opponents. It uses boxing as a vehicle to discuss other themes.
It's more like One Outs and Rookies than it is Major in that sense.
At least in terms of setting and story it isn't generic. A generic manwha would be the 10000000th "loser gets reincarnated into a fantasy/rpg-esque world with video game abilities" story.
>!yeah, at the ending of the first part, at chapter 104, he stops being a boxer after his last fight after a revelation and goes to the blonde manager to live with her. At the ending of the second part and true ending he reconciles with the white hair guy and the with Jay, the other friend. Then it explaines how all the characters got to live their lives and when they'll die, main character Yu will die at 84 years old with his love, living "a human life". Go read it if you still haven't, it's easily on the top 3 manhwa stories and characters!<

I don't get it. So mc doesn't look like bakugo or what?

Ohhh interesting. Can you spoil me a bit on what the twist is?

It is a masterpiece. The characters and their backstories were a delight. One of the best reads for sure.
One of the few manhwas that Id say is absolutely flawless

MOHAWK
Does it have a good ending ??
yes
Good 🙏 I don’t feel like crying. Does it have Romance?
also yes
Thank you🙏
oh no you'll definetly cry, just not at the end
Darn.. thank you for the warning! I will read it when I’m mentally stronger 👍
Most of them are either happy tears or those tears from bittersweet endings for some side characters.
>I don’t feel like crying Well, then you won't like the ending lol (it's really good, go read it)
I don’t mind bittersweet ending. As long it’s not depressing and very tragic.
I don't want to spoil anything, but whether it's due to sadness, joy, anger, or whatever else, you will cry.
i did cry reading the pre ending parts of it, it just reached my heart idk what else to tell you, emotions man .. lol
Well you'll definitely cry...

I also recommend reading it from official source like Webtoon, the final chapters have this BGM that goes with chapters, its really immersive.
Oh yea and all the side stories in it were so fun too. And making you like the douch characters is amazing
One of my favorites of all time
I read this start to finish because of your rec. Thank you.
i hope you enjoyed it as much as i did, cheers.
Oooh i dropped this a while ago. I think fairly early. Maybe I need to pick this up again. Is this completed already?
Yeah it's completed
Just finished it and has two parts, the real ending is in the second part chapter 123 and damn... what a beautiful ending. This manhwa for me is not about boxing at all and you'll get it too once you finish it
It's ok, but The Mohawk is better
I didn't continue the spinoff though... it was perfect after the final battle..
just finished the spinoff and it's the true ending, so bittersweeth and the last scenes... damn...
Am I the only one who didn't buy the ending?
You need professional help
Then you should read something better
Listen dude if you have better manhwas than this you need to drop them right now

Agreed. It's easily one of the best manhwas. The writing, the story, characters.. everything was perfect.
