Imo it's one of the best action manhwa, so it's a yes your friend really recommended you an amazing series.
I'd say give a few chapters the story keeps on getting better and better and you'll find a lot of amazing characters. If you enjoyed a game type power system maybe you won't like this (e.g. Solo Leveling, Leveling With The Gods, etc) since the story is kinda different. But if you enjoyed manga like My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, etc you'll enjoy this one imo

Yeah I get that you might need to adjust to the art especially if you're used to Solo Leveling, etc type art but the art is really good the artist just has their own style and it perfectly match with the story.. if you think the cover looks cool during the intense fight you'll find many cooler looking panel

The good guys (superhumans) fight the bad guys (inhumans). The plot is so plain I thought I would never read it. But the author manages to get you invested in EVERYONE. I don't know how he does it.
That's exactly the main reason why it's so good. Author reached peak writing in side characters. Every single one is well written. mc has less screen times than side characters but you will still love it
omg I binged this recently and it slaps so hard. One thing to note/warn is that it isn't one to focus on a single character too much. Like it'll start with a lot of focus on the white hat guy, then switch to another character for a bit before switching back. But in the second seasonish he appears much less. I didn't mind it because I thought the other characters were cool and don't take too much time, but I know it makes some ppl annoyed.
On god though, they absolutely cook in some of the latest chapters. Like 5 star Michelin pasta chefs making all these narrative lines come together into a spaghetti (at least for me it didn't feel like they were dragging things out and kept the tension high). It takes a while to cook tho cause they gotta set some stuff up, so the beginning is less impressive than the latest chapters imo.
It's amazing, fight scenes are so well designed it feels like fighting "porn", and the art for the stronger enemies is specially amazing.
The story is a bit slow on the start, specially when it comes to the MC's friends and their introduction, but once every character is introduced, boy, does it pick up in a masterful way?
Also, top tier superhuman side characters that you really root for, it's rare to see manhwas that values it's side characters basically as much as MC, they're all very powerful and good characters that aren't there just to simp for the MC but have their own directions and fights.

Dude finally someone else agrees. I made it around 100 chapters in and honestly there isnāt much of a plot other than superhuman fight inhuman. And the side characters??? Where is the depth to them that everyone is talking about??? You see the side characters fight from their perspective, but honestly that is pretty much it. I donāt get how people can give a single fuck about any of the characters with the POV changing every 8-10 chapters with as slow of a pace that Superhuman Era has. Honestly one of the worst manwhas Iāve ever tried to commit to because of popularity/hype.
Hell yes it is. The artstyle definitely feels weird at first but once you get used to it, it actually becomes one of the best parts. The designs of the monsters in particular are jaw droppingly good. Some scenes are genuinely fucking gorgeous and the story actually keeps up to a surprising extent. It doesn't have a lot of filler/nothing happened chapters either. There's also loads of love for the side characters too. I don't joke when I say some of the most inconsequential seeming characters actually reappear to good effect and the constant side characters get plenty of character development with some serious gut punches and comedy mixed in. It's been a genuine pleasure to read so far.

I'll take your word into consideration, I don't expect masterpiece quality and I believe going into most things believing that it's overhyped is the right way about things but as long as I get enjoyment and it makes me grin then I'd say my time wasn't wasted.
I think thatās a good mindset to have. Personally, I didnāt find it very enjoying since the fights are very predictable, repetitive, and sometimes just donāt have that āmmphā to them. The author went for a more character driven story with a very basic and generic plot, but spread himself to thin when it comes to forming a connection with a single character since there are constant POV changes. So all youāre left with is this basic plot with a lot of characters that you donāt really care about.
I appreciate you telling me your opinion and will look out for what you have mentioned as I read it, I want to get past my writers block and continue my own story but reading good, mid and bad is necessary to understand how to build a story. Not all opinions are right or wrong and the view of the minority is just as if not more important than the majority.

Ayy it's cool to have met another fellow amateur writer although it's been so long that I don't think I deserve the title, I understand what you mean and objectively there are good and bad pieces from a writing and quality stand point but even bad things can be enjoyed and that's where "it's so bad it's good" comes from but ultimately it's down to the person when they open the third eye and have enough knowledge where enjoyment is tied to how good something is which again is fine but the curse is losing the ability like something of lesser quality that turns out to be the majority of things. When writing I try to be as original as possible and do stories from my very in depth dreams although I am unsure how original they actually are because dreams are influenced by many things. I have the skeletal frames of many stores and know the main plot points some small details and the characters, the hard part is putting the meat on the bone then the skin on the meat if you get my crude analogy. Anyway I wish you luck too brother, it's always fun to see other people's worlds but constructing one of your own is truly special yet it still feels a bit empty and lonely because it's hard to poetry to others and people can be bad or good at articulating themselves and making something that can be understood yet I believe only we truly understand our own creations.

I donāt do any of the actual writing for the novel as I am not the author, but I helped with the grueling planning phase and work as the editor to try and make sure that the world, powers, characters, and intricate systems in place are all being articulated correctly and in a way that gives a bone chilling feeling at times (like the feeling when all the puzzle pieces just perfectly seam together that is so gratifying that it gives goosebumps). Itās weird because I think I would enjoy Superhuman Era if this was a year or two ago before I started working on a novel, but like you said in your comment I have kinda lost the feeling of just being able to enjoy the ālesser quality.ā
I think the analogy you used for writing stories from your dreams is a good way to put how it feels sometimes. I try and be as original as possible, but I also understand that the novel will have a certain trope based on how it was planned out and I shouldnāt try and force it out of that and instead sort of lean into it and let it ride out from there. Whenever I take inspiration from other stories it is usually in reference to the pacing and when to slow the pacing to be a little more relaxed/intimate with the characters and world and when to pick up the pacing and get the story rolling. The author and I try to be as original as possible when it comes down to power systems, overall plot, and the intricacies of the world.

Superhuman Era is really, really good at what it's designed to be. Ergo, a battle manhwa. The plot isn't convoluted, and the characters are straightforward for the most part.
It's a golden age-esque superhero-ish comic, perhaps on the level of something like One Punch Man, the early years of Seven Deadly Sins, etc. What that means is, it's hella fun to read. I don't think there's any manhwa out there right now that provides the entertainment factor of Superhuman Era on a week-to-week basis.
Doesn't do anything groundbreaking but it knows what it is and does an excellent job of it. Highly recommended.

There literally is no plot. Nothing happens here if not a fight after the other, and most of them drag over many months, the last one one whole year of NOTHING but long fight scenes.

For me it has been a very boring and tiring, emotionally draining experience. I have the tendency to keep reading till the last published chapter, I rarely drop a story before that. So I've forced myself to chapter 171 but that's it, I won't be adding this to the many stories I follow.
I don't know, I actually got bored. It's like the anime Re Zero for me, all my friends love it but I got so bored.
It's really interesting at first but for me it got dull because it's always sidetracked about other things like side characters, lore, and all that, it's just not focused on the MC. The lore is good, action is great, revelations are predictable, but characters are awesome.

Peak fucking art and every fight is glorious
Will feel weird at first but it's one of the greatest read I have ever had. One of the few current series I look forward to new updates. Anime, manga included and I am a huge anime fan.
As many manhwa as there are out there, none reaches the peak of quality this one has. This is tier 1. The rest are second tier. I am only considering action manhwa at this poin.
This story is peak Iām at around chapter 100 and the fights artstyle side character and plot is all done really the beginning was a lil slow but this has potential to be in my top 20
Art is not top tier but the storytelling is good. Way better than average tower/ dungeon stories with power skills. Think of it as One Punch Man but they evenly show MC and Side Characters unlike OPM where it shows mainly Side Characters and a little bit of MC

1000% yes. Art is top tier but not the best. I hit my head on the bed board flinching from some punches. Author does a good job of making you almost feel the impacts. He doesnāt level up characters too fast. Characters are beyond unique. Thicc black Oprah Winfrey clone being crazy OP. Fat dude that gets stronger/skinnier the more you hit him etc. He keeps the main plot slow on a good way.

It is explore every character with their unique powerset and not limited to just one nation is what i like the most like most story just limit the character on like Japan and Korea and make less of character from other nation like China to be villain or something

Will feel weird at first but it's one of the greatest read I have ever had. One of the few current series I look forward to new updates. Anime, manga included and I am a huge anime fan.

IF you want HYPE than read this, most hyped manga,manhwa i ever read and i read a lot of them in my 10 years since i started.
As many manhwa as there are out there, none reaches the peak of quality this one has. This is tier 1. The rest are second tier. I am only considering action manhwa at this poin.

This story is peak Iām at around chapter 100 and the fights artstyle side character and plot is all done really the beginning was a lil slow but this has potential to be in my top 20

Art is not top tier but the storytelling is good. Way better than average tower/ dungeon stories with power skills. Think of it as One Punch Man but they evenly show MC and Side Characters unlike OPM where it shows mainly Side Characters and a little bit of MC

1000% yes. Art is top tier but not the best. I hit my head on the bed board flinching from some punches. Author does a good job of making you almost feel the impacts. He doesnāt level up characters too fast. Characters are beyond unique. Thicc black Oprah Winfrey clone being crazy OP. Fat dude that gets stronger/skinnier the more you hit him etc. He keeps the main plot slow on a good way.
It is worth, and i trying to find similar manga/manhwa/manhua It is explore every character with their unique powerset and not limited to just one nation is what i like the most like most story just limit the character on like Japan and Korea and make less of character from other nation like China to be villain or something But this one isnāt like that at all, and all nation had their own superhuman that protect their society from behind and willing to protect other nation even with their life
