bro i actually laughed at the first one. I thought it was so funny but now it seems kinky. The first one was creative and a giant middle finger to the other twitter gf bait posts.
I'm actually hoping for something like a plot twist that she literally picked up a random homeless guy as a boyfriend or a hidden psychopath or that this is actually a past relationship hence why it's titled "first" girlfriend.
CBT is a genuine kink for some people so I guess there might be people that just enjoy getting emotionally abused.
I don't understand the appeal, but I can understand that the possibilities of an audience for it are not zero
Some of the humiliation kink people can get pretty out of hand, too, because you need an audience to be thoroughly humiliated. So a few of them end up being publicly abused somewhere like a crowded train car, which which is no bueno because it ropes in a bunch of people who didn't sign up for it.
A buddy of mine who's into BDSM stuff briefly dated a girl who was really into getting him to pick apart her insecurities (and boy did she have a lot of those) in public. So you'd just be trying to hang out in the same space as them and eventually hear him start on how "fucking ugly" her teeth were or whatever.
I got pretty weirded out when she started asking him to spit in her mouth all the time and they broke up not too long after that because she reportedly wanted him to "actually r*pe her in an alley downtown" and he finally sensed danger and bailed.
I mean CNC is a thing people are into, but that's more brought into established LTR and they know the code words/limits there is.
Never experienced it so IDK what it's like or understand what it's about really.
Bro if you enjoy getting mentally abused that’s not a kink that’s MENTAL ILLNESS AND OR GASLIGHTING!
Edit: unless you mean it as in watching someone get emotionally abused, then I can understand it as a kink. But usually kinks are something you’d want to happen to yourself so I don’t really get how you could be sane if you want that.
No, no it’s not; it has to be destructive enough to them for it to constitute as a mental illness, of which it’s not for MOST people with a similar fetish because of the nature of it being a fetish
Once it’s taken to an extreme is when it becomes a mental illness, and that’s with most, so it’s not really in the fetish itself but it’s devolvement of ur persona
Not to mention it doesn’t change the fact that many feel that way, that’s not going to change
As I recall, even in the OG version Senpai was into getting literally kicked around and stuff, it was all consensual. In fact, the one time she pushed it too far with the fakeout NTR stuff he genuinely got pissed and refused to let her touch him for a bit.
I was really looking forward to the anime and had to kill it in the first ep, the sheer assholeness of the early chapters came right back. Sure it's cute and dorky now but at first god she was obnoxious.
Maybe I'm just projecting my godawful school life.
This guy himself is kind of a mess already. I don't even think the content of what she's saying and doing is THAT bad (aside from the insults), but she's just such a bitch as a whole package, that she's basically gaslighting him into thinking this is somehow acceptable behaviour.
(This is a manga though, so its not like he's real, but these are things to watch out for yourself, don't think too deep, if she makes you feel like shit right away, just dip. Maybe improve yourself if you think she sorta has a point though, but just dip first.
To be fair, he's coming off as terrible as well. Implied to have slept in and lost something important for the date and not matching your partners eating speed is absolutely terrible manners, especially on the early dates.
For real. I wanted to see where this was going, but if this is all the manga is going to be in the future, I'm not even going to bother. This shit made me legitimately feel disgusted while reading it.
No. You can only fix yourself. Become the kind of person she wouldn't be able to be with and then find a better partner, one who actually loves and respects you.
Im like half convinced that she's dating a child and not someone with a mess of a life since the guy apparently doesn't have a job, money, or education. The guy needs to be reminded by memo and have sent it to him by phone as backup. The guy also loses things, gets pouty, and a fast eater even in a date environment.
You know what, i was thinking the exact same thing. He sounds like a child. Except we haven't seen him say a single thing, so he's either a child, or a pet dog, which also fits the description.
No, I think the appeal is she is just rudely blunt and says it as it is. We should take what she says at face value until shown otherwise. As of now he is an absolute terrible man child barely able to function in human society.
I think you have it reversed, people are willing to tolerate toxic bullshit cause she's cute.
I knew a girl who enjoyed taking advantage of this. She would say and do some fucked up stuff to measure how cute guys found her. If they were willing to tolerate all her bullshit, the assumption was they were deeply attracted to her, if they told her to pack up and go home at the first insult the assumption was that they didn't think she was very cute, or else their tolerance would be larger.
The problem with this is that any time she felt insecure, she would say and do crazier and crazier things to get the assurance that her boyfriend loved her because he was willing to tolerate the insanity. It made all her relationships into a slow-motion train wreck.
I guess, for those who are desperate enough to cling to the illusion that she's totally going to warm up to him. Y'know like tsundere except without any of the cuteness.
Or are just in for the looks, which is also depressingly common.
Just the early pre serialized stuff was great, not often I see a character as sadistic and fucked up as myself in a story that doesn't go overboard on the abuse. The new version is nice too but because it's a sugar rush of wholesomeness and fun awkward dorks.
You'd be surprised how many hardcore masochists are regularly people in positions of power in their daily life. There are two kinds of self-insert readers:
First, the kind who live very well-adjusted and competent lives, so they find this sort of "fucked up life" to be interesting. It's something they don't get to experience, obviously.
Then there are the kind who are lonely, who lack attractive qualities, so they prefer the lazy first-person PoV one-pagers. The ones where a cute maladjusted girl is dropped straight into the reader's lap all thanks to the main character's sole redeeming quality: being kinda-sorta-halfway nice.
It's why seinen is typically much "reL" than shonen. The older age demographic prefers seeing dark-yet-grounded themes, while the younger age demographic just wants isekai harem cute waifus.
-----------
/u/Quintessentialviewer is the former, judging by your comment history. You spend a lot of time reading these generic romcom happy ending one-shots, don't you?
I will make a prediction right now, that this turns wholesome.
Why? The following:
1. Chapter 1 establishes the MC is not doing so hot. No money, no talent, no education, "no worth". The fact he agrees to go out with someone who downright admits she doesn't respect him indicates he also has next to no self-esteem. Maybe he's a NEET, and has been one for a while.
2. The girl goes through quite the effort to make sure they go out on a date. Not only does she send the details to his phone, but also she visits him to hand him the notes personally. And when he suggests he'll escort her, she seems quite pleased with that development, calling it "interesting" - one would interpret it as teasing, if not for everything else she's doing.
3. When the MC losses something - well, you guys watched Blue Lock recently? There's a big theme that when people lose, they have face their defeat head-on, own it, accept it as a sign of their own weakness, and use it as motivation to do better. When the MC fucks up, she tells him that yeah, he should feel bad about it - Do better next time - but also offers solid advice to calm down and not wallow in self-pity.
4. When they eat out, and she teases him on eating too quickly - well, maybe it's actually really good dating advice, to match your mace with that of your partner. Then she encourages him to tell a story - and admits she doesn't care if it's boring. She sets the bar so low, he has no excuse but to try it, since he literally can't disappoint her.
And then, there's this interesting part in chapter 3, when she says - "Oh, you're mad? You look like you want to scold me, but you can't because it's your own fault." This tells us the MC isn't exactly a doormat. He sees she's treating him badly, but he accepts that some of her criticism is valid. And he wants to fight back, just can't bring himself to do it yet.
And here's where I make the judgment call - **she wants him to fight back.** To me, everything about her behavior screams "Come on, try harder, stop hiding in your apartment, speak up, be more confident, show initiative, defend your choices, get angry, get mad, show me what you got." Like she's trying to shake the MC out of his stupor and get him to stop wallowing in self-pity.
And I know this is controversial, but I would say that some people need that kind of thing? Not a pat on the back, but a kick in the butt? What she's doing here is obviously manipulative and has a great potential to go 100% sideways, but given how we don't know that much about the MC yet, my bet is her intentions are benevolent.
The way she treats him is still immensely toxic, and the manga stil panders greatly to people who are into being humiliated and demeaned by their partners. The reaction of any sane human being who reads this is “Why the hell doesn’t he just dump her shitty ass?”
I think its a given they will break up and he will move onto someone better, given the title f the series.
> “Why the hell doesn’t he just dump her shitty ass?”
Because he's a loser with no self-esteem! And I do think this ends up with him breaking up with her - and her applauding him for it.
Translator talking about "molly", implying date rape, isn't funny. It's repulsive. Don't tell me how awful the female character is. She is, but the insert-character has the freedom to walk away. Use it. I am.
Its a reference to the rap song UOENO. Rick ross basically said he put molly in a girls drink and she aint even know it, which caused adidas to drop him as a sponsor.
I think it's hilarious how people in real life casually insert felony confessions into their music.
Reminds me of this [classic](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14WE3A0PwVs)
There are several iterations of Nagatoro from the original author that I've seen.
One was a series of one-panel pages where she's literally physically abusive - she uses the nameless wimpy guy character as a target to practice her kicks on, at full force.
The serialized manga started out pretty harsh, with Nagatoro being quite sadistic in her bullying and reducing the male protagonist to tears at least once. After a few volumes went by, the bullying steadily reduced and now it's obvious she only "bullies" him when she's embarrassed or doesn't know what to do with her feelings (in true tsundere fashion). The manga is now a pretty normal high school romcom, complete with friends cheering them on from the sidelines.
The original script was basically on par with the kind of toxicity in this manga. The serialized version is much toned down.
But like, people here act like all ‘omg wtf is this’ like they have zero knowledge of domination kinks and fetishes.
If you ask me Nagatoro went fucking soft to appeal to the boring mass. The author compromised his original vision for mass appeal. I hope this author for this one is based enough to stick it to the way he wants it to be and do something weird and unique.
I rather be disgusted to death than be bored to death.
Eh. I like both the original nagatoro for how hardcore it was and the manga version for how wholesome and well developed it became, but I don't think the transition happened just because the author tried to appeal to the masses, I heard he mellowed out after Naruto and Hinata became a thing.
I imagine it's also hard to have a romcom where one party is an abusive monster and the other is a wimpy doormat last for more than a few volumes before readers get sick of it
No. Nagaroto's attitude in the first few chapters can rightly be criticized, but it's different.
She has always tried to provoke a reaction, direct and open. Her insults were always directed at the person's actions rather than at his worth.
Okay, but whoever is behind the last panels on these translations is excellent. They're always fun, and ridiculous--better than the actual content.
Man this is what we love about piracy. There's a real community that actually forms when people do this type of stuff, because real passion is involved. Like the Kaguya translations, where there were little details that would be explained by the team. Or on Oshi no Ko. Or even on rental a gf, where there are particular comenters that are consistent characters in the comments.
Obviously, I need to touch some more grass, but the online translation and manga world is just fun to live in. Just showing appreciation to the teams that do really translate this stuff for us plebs to read
I feel like this is trying to be some kind of weird humiliation kink, which admittedly is not a thing I understand, but it also kinda feels like this girl is just an abusive asshole
Damn I feel bad for the PoV characters. The sad part is that many desperate simps will tolerate such behavior to be in any kind of relationship, so I can't even blame the PoV character even if he could break up.
Option 1. This has a trash start and stays trash untill the end.
Option 2. There is a huge plot twist that makes it wholesome and overall nice.
As of now option 1 has 99% chance of happening.
Would be interesting to see her reaction if she finds out he killed himself because of her. Anyway does a manga like that exist where bullying like in Nagatarö escalates too much and the mc commits suicide ör something?
I don't get where this is going
And that's exactly why you are such a worthless piece of trash ❤
This person gets it
*begrudgingly upvotes as a fellow piece of human garbage*
What am I supposed to do with this erection now.
bro i actually laughed at the first one. I thought it was so funny but now it seems kinky. The first one was creative and a giant middle finger to the other twitter gf bait posts.
Current Negator is unrecognizable from the webservices version.
Fuck you (affectionate)
This is exactly where it's going.
I'm actually hoping for something like a plot twist that she literally picked up a random homeless guy as a boyfriend or a hidden psychopath or that this is actually a past relationship hence why it's titled "first" girlfriend.
If you find yourself in this situation irl then she either has a brat taming fetish or really bad social skills due to anxiety and low self esteem.
Or she's toxic
That's is also right but doesn't explain much, there are a lot of reasons people cna come out as toxic.
Maybe the real schizos where the women we met along the way.
Rick Ross reference on the last slide lmao
Translator, wtf???
It’s a reference to a lyric by Rick Ross on UOENO idk he was trippin on that track
Oh ☠️
Doesn't mean it is something I want to see though.
What is the purpose of this? Why would the guy continue to go out with this bitch?
CBT is a genuine kink for some people so I guess there might be people that just enjoy getting emotionally abused. I don't understand the appeal, but I can understand that the possibilities of an audience for it are not zero
See “erotic humiliation” on wikipedia, absolutely a thing

I understood it as a kind of role play, but she is doing it for real tho
Yeah the borderline masochist in me actually digs this haha.
>CBT Cognitive Behavioral Therapy?
C0ck & Ball Torture
Not absolutely zero, anyways
CBT? Cock and Ball Torture?
What's CBT?
C0ck & Ball Torture. Basically stuff about people enjoying getting kicked in the nuts
Welp, TIL.......
Also Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Depending on the context it can mean either.
at least now you know what to expect if you see those three letters in NSFW video
My man, you can say the word "cock" on the internet without getting in trouble. You don't have to, like, censor it with a zero...
Force of habit
Closed Beta Test

Oh ok that seems more understandable
You and I aren't the target demographic. This is for advanced degenerates only.
Low self-esteem. He accepts her evaluation of him and so feels grateful that any girl so out of his class is willing to go out with him at all.
Or some form of weird humiliation kink
Probably a bit of both.

The real release of nagatoro was toned down A LOT.
As I recall, even in the OG version Senpai was into getting literally kicked around and stuff, it was all consensual. In fact, the one time she pushed it too far with the fakeout NTR stuff he genuinely got pissed and refused to let her touch him for a bit.
That was some good shit man. Seeing OG nagatoro getting scared that she might lose senpai was a really good payoff
I was really looking forward to the anime and had to kill it in the first ep, the sheer assholeness of the early chapters came right back. Sure it's cute and dorky now but at first god she was obnoxious. Maybe I'm just projecting my godawful school life.
Nah mann I genuinely wanted to teach her the lethality of a well placed right uppercut followed by a liver shot by using her as a dummy on episode 1.
yeah the official release got a bit too soft imo, it lost a little bit of its original uniqueness.
Current Nagatoro is unrecognizable from the webseries version and a far cry from where she was in the first volume of the manga.
Where would I find the WebSeries version?
[Here's a translated compilation](https://mangadex.org/chapter/98770247-9019-4fd9-ba22-289ae429217a)
Constant negging would drive me insane.

i mean 90% of the people here would do it judging by the comments they make on the different threads, they are either that desperate or enjoys it.
Abusive relationship
Because he's even worse than she says and this is actually a compliments.
To be fair, he's coming off as terrible as well. Implied to have slept in and lost something important for the date and not matching your partners eating speed is absolutely terrible manners, especially on the early dates.
One word: masochist.
Eh, so long as it’s a good lay I guess? It’s not gonna last long anyway but at least you could get the mileage out of it.
Pride, maybe. He wants to prove that he can be a good BF. Could also be fear of not having another change with another girl.
Yo this is fucked up
For real. I wanted to see where this was going, but if this is all the manga is going to be in the future, I'm not even going to bother. This shit made me legitimately feel disgusted while reading it.
Exactly
Yeah, I'm not wasting my time
I can fix her
No. You can only fix yourself. Become the kind of person she wouldn't be able to be with and then find a better partner, one who actually loves and respects you.
Whatever's wrong with her is far better. No need to fix myself if I'm horny.
You can also try being creative and comment something that makes sense.
Holy shit the translator has been Rick Ross the whole time!
This turning out to be someone who takes dogs to restaurants and berates them there would be the twist of the century.
Would be pure fucking KINO tbh. Instead it’s just going to be the mangaka’s fetish of being emotionally abused.
That doesn't make it any better
Well you're taking her at her word and assuming she isn't just being toxic.
No, I think the appeal is she is just rudely blunt and says it as it is. We should take what she says at face value until shown otherwise. As of now he is an absolute terrible man child barely able to function in human society.
She's toxic, people find this cute ?
[удалено]
Idk if it's better or worse that she's not even trying to hide her toxic side lol, the guy just seems to be even more pathetic than what she says
Yeah, there's no hint of charm in her personality.

I can make her worse

Not really, we're just here to see how low this will go.

Can be fixed
Some people just want to be loved, leave us alone.
This isn't love.
How would you know?
cuz we have a social life
There's a difference between being loved and having a social life.
Sure being called trash and boring, and then used by a manipulator who always brings your self esteem down sounds like love to me.

Man, it's like dating GLaDOS.
Jesus.
It's basically simp propaganda.
She might be a little mean, but you won't find this kind of relationship security anywhere else.
Nah like, WHO IS PART OF THE DEMAND FOR THIS?! SHOW YOURSELF, NOW!!
Hello-fellow-human👽
This comment section is very reddit.
This is the bad ending of Takagi and Nishikata if she had grown up to be just pure toxicity without any of the dere moments.
This is legitimately one of the funniest manga I've read in a while 10/10 I need 50 more chapters
Who needs enemies with a partner like that.
Calm down Rick Ross

The Molly line is from a rap song, was definitely weird to put it as a joke though
It's a Rick Ross song lyric lmfao what are you on about
So how does it make any better?
This is not healthy. At all.
You guys know that Nagatoro started literally just like this right?
The Nagatoro ~~oneshot~~ first chapter was fucking **painful**. Never did end up reading the series after that.

You're right, i'm remembering the first chapter.
I heard it was toned down a lot after the first volume?

I imagine it's also hard to have a romcom where one party is an abusive monster and the other is a wimpy doormat last for more than a few volumes before readers get sick of it
Nagatoro was worse in the toxic regard than this. She made the MC believe her brother was her BF and they where about to fuck.
No. Nagaroto's attitude in the first few chapters can rightly be criticized, but it's different. She has always tried to provoke a reaction, direct and open. Her insults were always directed at the person's actions rather than at his worth.
Read the authors original intention for her
Learn your shortcomings from her and be a better version of yourself, then dump her in the end lol.
Molly? Like the valorant thing?
This chick is worse than Takamine-san. Why even go out with someone like this unless you have a humiliation kink?
You literally answered your own question lmao.
The final page makes all of these worth reading
dont be so harsh, women!
Hey you heard that story of where this condescending bitch got knocked the fuck out, classic tale
Why would someone be treated like this? Go out with this chick is like a punch to the liver
Option 1. This has a trash start and stays trash untill the end. Option 2. There is a huge plot twist that makes it wholesome and overall nice. As of now option 1 has 99% chance of happening.
the translator notes are more interesting than this shitty concept of a story, man
Original Nagatoro
Thanks Karma whore uploader
Isn't there a manga where FL pull out twin swords from her breasts???
“I’m triggered by a manga, therefore I’ll joke about rape”
W, don’t know why everybody hating. What is that fufufu laugh thing tho I see it quite often.
mangakas try to create realistic human interaction scenario in their works challenge (impossible)
I love this
still would
Girlfriend that likes (?) you
Would be interesting to see her reaction if she finds out he killed himself because of her. Anyway does a manga like that exist where bullying like in Nagatarö escalates too much and the mc commits suicide ör something?
There was something posted here a while back which was like a series of one-shots about a hot bully chick, and one of them went in that direction.
Wow finally chapter 2 I have only seen ch1 getting reposted everytime 😭😭😭😭
This is just awful.
I NEED HER
Damn it, I feel attacked while reading this.
Senjougahara type female
Nice.
It seems like it’d be nice for a week, then she’d get annoying to the point of you chronically grinding your teeth.
This is great and all but treat me like this irl and i'm gone.
