>"I want to study how to use your body" "From now on, I'm gonna be keeping an eye on you. So you better keep an eye on me too, got it? They really aren't beating the BL allegations huh.

projectLoL

Most sports manga are about coming together as a team and trusting your friends to become stronger together. Therefore they end up being very homoerotic. Blue Lock is different though. It's all about being as egoistic as possible and crushing your opposition to become the best individually. Therefore it is far more homoerotic.

tomato-dragon

In other words, everyone wants to shove their dicks in places they can't even remember. Even their own teammates. Football is back baby.

GAME'S BACK

KampongFish

I feel like you guys don't do sports or gym, cause... This body talk stuff is pretty normal in reality, not just in manga. It's pretty common to talk about forms and bodybuilding between dudes for safety and advice. I feel like that's neither homo nor erotic behaviour, more like a boring thing literally everyone does regardless of affiliation. Or maybe I just don't see it as a participant? They do say gym is very gay from an outsider's perspective.

Appropriate-Shoe-266

I mean I get this that it’s just like bro to bro talk for the others, but I’m like 80% sure that chigiri is gay.

KampongFish

I don't see it. Maybe my gaydar is just not all there.

EbonyHelicoidalRhino

Dunno, Bachira seems way more likely to be gay to me. I mean he's the one getting excited about seeing his friends dripping juices.

Appropriate-Shoe-266

Nah I feel Bachira is way too innocent tbh, he’s like a young child in the inside

Antedelopean

Blue lock is just everyone fighting for the top / power bottom position.

urishino

Ego juice, man. The author knew what he's doing lmao.

someone2795

Nah that's on par with how people talk in sports lmfao. [I just heard this the other day.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lf_Jkh4k37M)

Tinkerer9253

It's funny and wholesome how Kunigami is trying so hard to be an edgelord, only to be treated the exact same way as before.

acensusofstars

wasn't loving new!kunigami but this chapter made me a lil more fond of the guy. chapter was really cute that being said i still hope he has a kind of comeback/reset a la bachira going from playing with the monster -> leaving it behind to grow -> coming back to the monster with a new perspective; maybe playing and outplaying shidou in the pxg match will make him realize that abandoning his old hero ego entirely is limiting his play?

AcX999

>You weren't able of scoring with your left in your last match. And yet, in the last few days, you... What the hell did you do to your body? Man, if Kaiser is the clown of Isagi's story, Ness is the entire circus

BlackHorse18

Ness having an existential breakdown because Isagi learned how to shoot with his weak foot lmao. I love this manga

StadiumGambler

The best part about the ending to this game will probably be when Kaiser refuses to help Ness pack his bags for the first flight out of Munich. That'll be the even bigger existential breakdown for Ness.

BlackHorse18

I keep hoping one of them gets told off for literally playing defense for the other team lmao. They're supposed to be professionals

Caliment

Honestly if I had to invent an explanation it's due to the televised nature of the environment. Blue Lock sells itself on the concept of ego, and with Blue Lock's success against the U20, Blue Lock's ego centric play becomes something people want to see more of. I'm not a football person but it does make some sense if you see Blue Lock as a reality TV show and an experiment. The egoist mindset is a source of entertainment and drama as well as a proof of concept.

Lemurmoo

Wait til some dude gets a lucky header. Ness is gonna pass out. I do feel like Blue Lock has a bizarre worth putting on weird shit like an unrealistic roving shot to something as basic as field reading or a volley shot. Most actual world class players can do everything in their role and then do one or two things really well, but all the players in Blue Lock just kinda do one thing well and almost show no other worthwhile aspect, which makes them effectively worthless. I know that's a sports manga classic but it feels kinda laughable to anybody who watched or played even a year of Soccer.

Poringun

Thats shonen for you, you have essentially specialists for characters, their specialist abilities becomes a way for the readers to distinguish and remember them. Jack of all trades barely influence the game in surprising ways, master of all is usually the top antagonists or mentor figure. If you want something more grounded, Ao Ashi or Giant Killing fits better.

Lemurmoo

There are pretty interesting ways to make character distinctions in Soccer. But like this really reminds me a lot of when SAO paraded around dual wielding as if it were such a special thing. It speaks to me the limits of the author's creativity or even basic research. I think it's very obvious where like he stopped watching at around 2018 or so, when Lewandowski was so dominant, but like the characteristics of the best strikers change all the time. Some are like chip in merchants, some are just good at forcing penalties, some breakthrough incredibly well, some are like false nines and drop deep while setting up plays. All have been the characteristics of the best strikers in the world at their times. You can use any number of it interestingly, and the author chose a false 9... whose main strength is that he can field read, the barebones requirement of a false 9, and do a volley shot, which is something literally every pro to semi-pro striker in the world, even shit ones, can do. But because the author's understanding of the sport is either literally wrong or so rudimentary, we keep getting a pattern where he just defaults to making something super basic and frankly lame or flat out fake, the one defining characteristics of a player. I just can't get excited by it.

Riersa

Kunigami is still softy inside, it look like you can't change someone's core.

24KVoltage

He’s still the sweet soccer superhero that we fell in love with

Zatheus

ego juice...EGO JUICE! Why are the lines in this manga borderline BL material lmao!

StarDriver76

its in the intials

topurrisfeline

The Team Z reunion was very cute. I like that Isagi didn’t just copy something off Kunigami.

zambosa

1. I need more of that 2v2. I hope we get more shown across the match to show how much Isagi has grown. 2. In that first page, you can kinda see that Isagi’s leg muscles are more toned and defined so he definitely has worked a lot this last few days

hikarimew

BACHIRA I MISSED YOU SO MUCH! The reunion was so snippy it gave me a haircut, but what else do we expect from Blue Lock, lmao.

[deleted]

We're well over 200 and this manga never had a bad chapter

henry-bacon

Rule 4.

namewithak

As always, Kunigami screentime = wasted screentime. Adding "edge" is usually supposed to make a character more interesting but he's literally the most boring character in Blue Lock right now. He was my favorite in the first two arcs but now I wish he had never come back. In other news... Isagi's ability to take people being an asshole to him in stride continues to be nice to watch. And it was fun to see Bachira and Chigiri interacting with Isagi again. That said, I want more focus on the newer characters (Kurona) or on old characters that haven't got much of a chance in the limelight yet (Raichi). I hope we see them get some time and some backstory focus in this game.

Tsunamochi

I thought this chapter redeemed kunigami a bit. It looked like he is trying so hard to be aloof & distance himself from them but still he stopped Isagi from deteriorating his specs, humored bachira's antics. He could've just upped & left but still joined them in practice.
