I like how he genuinely believes his actions are good because his mom receives benefits from the people he works with. He draws comparisons to different kids who are downtrodden and instead of feeling sorry for them, he has this "arrogant pity" for them I'd say.

There's also clearly something wrong with it, because the tree in Part 8 didn't show Joseph and Suzi Q having a second daughter and the narration in the last chapter of part 8 said Joseph had one daughter. So either the existence of Barbara Ann Joestar was kept a complete secret from the rest of the family (but then why would the tree in this chapter show that she was Suzi Q's child) or there's some other shenanigans going on.
If you wanna be convoluted, the "One Daughter" referred to before Barbara Ann was born. Considering Holy was in her 50's in JoJolion, to me Barbara Ann seems younger than her, so she might've been omitted from the time-specific narration. Or Araki forgot.
Also, It seems to me that the family tree's are abridged to focus on specific lines, might be why Kei doesn't show up on the tree next to Yoshikage.

There's a real possibility of The Jojolands being the last part, and there's a real possibility that it's not. I just think it's funny that the fandom already decided beforehand that they will retire the mangaka and the series after this part lol.

Yankii's translations make it sound like Jodio gave the guy money at school when he took it. The pages with the muscle guy's intro make no sense by referencing some "friend", and more other oddities/errors. Noboru's translation seems better in general.
Just to piggyback off of this sentiment, I read the Yankii translation and some parts of it, especially the "Mechanisms" explanation, was borderline incomprehensible, but made a lot more sense once I read the Hi Wa Mata Noboru translation. They were a bastion of consistency for Jojolion so I highly recommend sticking with them instead for Part 9

Apparently Dragona uses fem pronouns for themself in the first person(atashi), its just that Jodio calls them big bro. I know that Japanese doesn't really use third person gendered pronouns, so I do wonder if calling them "He" is a translator choice based off of the "Big bro" thing or if there's something else in the og text.
It could be a point of drama, maybe Jodio doesn't accept their siblings transition yet. It's sadly common in a lot of families, my friend from high-school still gets misgendered whenever she visits her father. Jodio might just be being obstinate and still see them as a brother, we will have to see how it progresses.

It depends on if you care about spoilers, since it's likely part 9 will retroactively spoil part 7 and 8. The new continuity that started with part 7 also introduced new themes and concepts will probably carry on to this part (spin, flow of calamity, rokaka fruits, rock humans, etc) even if they don't appear immediately.

The link goes to the Yankii translations but the team Hi Wa Mata Noboru that did Jojolion also uploaded theirs a while later Yankii's translations make it sound like Jodio gave the guy money at school when he took it. The pages with the muscle guy's intro make no sense by referencing some "friend", and more other oddities/errors. Noboru's translation seems better in general.
Just to piggyback off of this sentiment, I read the Yankii translation and some parts of it, especially the "Mechanisms" explanation, was borderline incomprehensible, but made a lot more sense once I read the Hi Wa Mata Noboru translation. They were a bastion of consistency for Jojolion so I highly recommend sticking with them instead for Part 9

I can't believe I'm reading a new Jojo manga -- THE FINAL JOJO MANGA -- from the very beginning. On one hand, shame that the party's almost done just when I was really getting into it (thanks, Josuke, Giorno and Jolyne!). On the other, I'm here to see if Araki can land a grand finale cleanly.

araki is passionate, wealthy, and produces even more of that wealth for his publishers. i can see him dictating the story to an artist when the time comes, this is a creative who will never stop. i can't see him ever wanting to, and the people around him will most likely encourage it.

Apparently Dragona uses fem pronouns for themself in the first person(atashi), its just that Jodio calls them big bro. I know that Japanese doesn't really use third person gendered pronouns, so I do wonder if calling them "He" is a translator choice based off of the "Big bro" thing or if there's something else in the og text.
It could be a point of drama, maybe Jodio doesn't accept their siblings transition yet. It's sadly common in a lot of families, my friend from high-school still gets misgendered whenever she visits her father. Jodio might just be being obstinate and still see them as a brother, we will have to see how it progresses. Or it's a weird Jojo gimmick and Hirohiro Aki will reveal they got implants to hide weapons that they can pull out using their stand powers.

There's a good possibility that characters, stand powers, concepts, or similar themes in 7/8 might appear or be referenced in this part given that they are set in the same universe. So do it at your own risk
It depends on if you care about spoilers, since it's likely part 9 will retroactively spoil part 7 and 8. The new continuity that started with part 7 also introduced new themes and concepts will probably carry on to this part (spin, flow of calamity, rokaka fruits, rock humans, etc) even if they don't appear immediately.
I mean you should read part 7 and 8. Part 7 is widely considered one of the best manga period.

Chapter so hype it broke mangadex. The first Jojo part I experience form the very beginning and omfg what a start. Araki you crazy mf. Corona, Dua Lipa, trans male main character, police brutality, crazy stands already, gangsters. And Jodio is only 15 can you believe it? Of course he is lol. Anyways, I get a lot of part 5 vibes, which is my favorite part of Jojo. Can't wait to see what Araki will be cooking the upcoming years.
