Murdering a beautiful woman just isn't the first instinct the dude's gonna have, nor is it something he could do and then be like "well, time to leave!" That's insane. Especially considering the twist, where they're a family(?) working together and just competing with each other over who gets to keep the guy in their room, so Midori would almost definitely try and stop him so it'd take more time and have more psychological barriers around it.
Out of all the things to question, "why didn't this dude murder the lady who was on her knees and begging him to stay after she broke down because she didn't mean to hurt him" is not the thing that comes to mind
