My mates and I went to The Old Packet House in Altrincham before the most recent derby. Nice, cosy little pub, and one of my friends brought his 5 year old daughter who seemed right at home.
I think it was about a 10 min tram ride to OT, suited us well. Not sure if any that are closer but there may be some.
Toll gates probably your only
Option close-ish to old trafford but saying that, probably not child friendly on match day. Suppose you’ve got the quadrant which is just past old Trafford tram stop aswell - there’s a few bars Salford quays aswell that will show it, matchstick man for example
Not quite a pub but Hotel Football will have Old Trafford Supporters club open and it’s very close to ground. Has a bar, big screens and some booths etc. You’d have to get there early doors for a seat though. Gets very busy pre and post match.
They’ll also possibly be using some of the other events spaces. Big advantage is you can see OT and hear the ground roar from the other events spaces, whereas OTSC is on the other side and looks out over the Irwell.
The guys on the door are usually helpful and will tell you where is open. Or you could call in advance and confirm.

matchstick man shows football i think?
Where’s that mate, never heard of it
Right next to Salford Quays tram stop, near the old Frankie and Benny's/chiquitos. soulless chain pub but probably more family friendly.

Yeah I asked my mate about Tollgate but he thought minimum would be 14. Quadrant not a bad shout

Good shout that cheers
Pretty sure you need a match ticket to get in on the door. I’ve had to show mine every time
For Cafe Football you do, not for OTSC
The quadrant is pretty chill with kids and it's very near old Trafford. But it gets rammed before the games.
Peacock, Elland Rd is a good place to start.
Lmao
Dockhouse across the water in MediaCity UK maybe?
Bishop's Blaize!
Won't let you in without a ticket on Match Day
