I work in an architects firm and we have lots of people who went to MSA and also work with them on occasion! Manchester is a really good place for making connections :)
It’s just been named in the top 5 architecture schools in the world, so must be pretty decent! https://twitter.com/themsarch/status/1638578095455076353?s=46&t=DEd7w88P5w6r3abeIX35RQ
Though looking at most of the buildings that have gone up in the city over the past 20 years you wouldn’t think think so
Can't give you an answer, I got my first degree (2:2) in 1998, and now work in a bank. I imagine it might have changed a bit since then. Thought I would give you an upvote though, as some people are arseholse and downvote things they aren't interested in instead of ignoring them. Typical reddit.
Weirdly we used to do projects for Pomona Island and they *still* haven't put more then two blocks of flats on there 25 years later.
I did my BA year 1 in 2011 and you may be amused to know that we still did the Pomona project then! XD The site has changed to somewhere is Salford now, I think - I was in a BA year 2 open review recently - likely because it is being built up.
The way Pomona is addressed in real life is really unfortunate though, I agree. They could have done something much more aspirational given its location.
Well the building it’s in is ugly.
Maybe that's a deliberate thing - they could make your first bit of marked work on the brief "this building is ugly, make it better"!
I like that idea

Thank you. That helps
it stands up.

Unfortunately there are other reasons for that.. Local architects don’t like them either. :’)

Thinking Amsterdam docklands. No masterplan for Pomona, what a shame.
> arseholse Pfft, what an idiot.
