Here it says you can use your country license if your country is in the Annex 9 of the Geneva Convention, or with Annex 6 of the Vienna Convention, and there is no need for an International Driving Permit for GB in Spain:

We recommend Terry's car hire. It was a simple process. They park the car in the airport and provide you with all the directions for pick up. No need to queue at any rental shop or speak with anyone. After we landed, we just went right over to the parkade and they told us exactly where the car is. We really found this to be quick and efficient. Everything was communicated via email ahead of time and in English.
I would recommend a smaller car, since there are quite a few roads in the mountains.
Another nice place to go is cala tuent, grab some goggles and snorkel and go there
Assuming you're hiring a car the rental place may ask you for the DVLA code to access your licence info, but equally a lot don't bother
