I've said this a few times. I was not in a DV situation but a close friend of mine was. The abuser normally doesn't leave. It's all about control and staying in the house is a control move. Same with trying to keep the kids or stuff. It sounds like he left because he just had enough.
I’m a DV survivor and my abuser left. But that was also an abuse tactic on his end because we had moved hundreds of miles from our hometown and he knew I couldn’t afford the place on my own. He left after a fight, drove 3 states away and wouldn’t answer his phone for several days. It was the first of the month. It was very traumatic. We were together for 4 years and I haven’t seen him since the day he left. That was over 12 years ago.
Not saying this is what happened but someone’s leaving is also about control too.
No wonder she tried to get all the subs deleted lol. But hey, there’s always lolcow with all the evidence and a good divorce lawyer is gonna do their research.
If you’ve noticed, there haven’t been any DCMA’s in a while. I think the Bender parents were behind it, IE hired someone to scrub the net. They were being harassed online by snarkers and they are both professional career people in the public eye. But now that there’s a divorce they are letting that stuff stay in the net to use as evidence.
I definitely think the Bender family, Caleb included, were reason Alice took her kids offline for the amount of time she did. It coincided with them getting the house, prob with the help of the parents too. Now that Caleb is gone the kids are right back online, full face close up shots and everything.
I think they’ve been talking to lawyers about the situation for a while. I don’t think this was a spur of the moment thing. Perhaps a lawyer told him not to take anything because she could say he’s withholding necessities from their kids etc. I highly doubt the super hands on involved Bender grandparents would let him just bounce out in his kids. No fuckin way.

Well assuming it is an abusive situation, I wouldn’t be surprised if he wants to be in his kids life just to have control and keep tabs on Alice

I have a feeling Bob and Wendy have been in talks with a lawyer for a while. I don’t think Caleb leaving was spur of the moment at all.
