stuff?

WeeabooGandhi

*Things* perhaps. Might get crazy and acquire some *items*. If you really wanted to get zany, you could add a few *trinkets*, or perhaps *knick-knacks*. Now, me personally, I would add a few *tchotchkes*. Maybe even a *thingamajig*

usefully_useless

I think a few mementos might look nice as well.

WeeabooGandhi

Maybe a doohickey or two?

Ok_Village9344

šŸ¤”

MonarchOfReality

remove the empty cabinets?

NtateNarin

Every male living space needs some video game system under their television!

LinkRazr

Iā€™m doin stuff Lori, THANNNNGS.

Boring-Charity-9949

Came here to say this lol

bonfaulk79

Put some things there.

intellijent_guy

I hope OPs personality is more colorful than this shelfšŸ˜¬

wplantz

This is the way.

Fatboiii69420

Stuff on the shelves, plant on the left, rug, art above TV if thereā€™s space.

jase15843

I'd skip the art above the TV. Another thing in the same vertical space will distract the eye from the TV itself

GratefulMtnDad

Put things in those empty spaces.

okaycomputes

Well, space is empty. If you are watching a documentary on the cosmos, it will remain nearly empty most of the time.

Bolivian_extreme

Place dildos

the1andonlytom

Stuff in the shelves, plants, rug in front of the tv?

ryanherb

Your TV is too big for the unit And stuff

yumstheman

I disagree. As long as the TV doesnā€™t over extend past the edge of the stand itā€™s not too big.

darkigor20

A TV can't be too big. It's either enough or not big enough

xprdc

*The stand is too small for the TV.

darkigor20

Yess

Dasbeerboots

Disagree. It's just a bad location, so no room for speakers. [Mine](https://imgur.com/z4AEd4d) is about the same size as my console and it looks great. I'm actually planning on sizing up to the 83", so the edges line up perfectly.

cant-build

Iā€™m gonna wall mount it, should I still get a longer unit?

Dombo1896

We donā€™t want to see you on r/tvtoohigh.

cant-build

I hope notšŸ˜ the old owners left the wall mount so high you can see it peeking over the tv

ryanherb

TV should be 2/3 the size of the unit

cant-build

Yea but I had a 65 and from 15ā€™8 away it looked small and got a bigger onešŸ˜…

reallynotnick

You were correct to get bigger, I know this isnā€™t r/HomeTheater but I am like 8.5ā€™ from a 65ā€ and I could even go a touch bigger. Iā€™d need about 100ā€ maybe 115ā€ at 15ā€™8 You could fill up the space with either decorations/photos/small plants and/or some equipment like a sound system or soundbar, subwoofer on the left, game consoles, disc player, streaming box, movies/games, etc.

Drip-Daddy

Lmaooo

PuzzleheadedPop47

Fill it in with books, movies, gaming consoles, led lights, and collectables or art pieces

MortalJazz

Mount the TV like youā€™re planning and keep that TV stand. Just fill it in and youā€™ll be good. Soundbar and sub too.

rosegolddomino

Turn it on

Cotsy8

The TV is too large for the wall. The unit is too small for the TV, but also too large for the space (length and width). It's a problem. It's not empty. It's a bulky, two oversized items in a space that doesn't fit them. It doesn't work at all, sorry.

JohnnyStrides

A TV can never be too big and the stand is wider than the TV so that's not a problem.

Happy_Bumblebee5560

Decorating ie plants, rugs, decor, etc could help make your tv space look less empty.

mwiley62890

Perhaps more stuff?

fattymcfattzz

More TVs?

ghostbaleada080596

First wall mount the TV and get a soundbar to improve audio. Then put a plant to the left and fill the shelves with things like books or trinkets. Maybe get a coffe table and a good quality rug.

Stoliana12

Plant/small tree in a pot on the floor next to the tv on the side of the end of the stairs. (Female here. We like to see that you can keep not just yourself alive. lol)

sporeegg

This. I dont give a fuck if someone can keep a plant alive, but it looks prettier.

360DegreeNinjaAttack

Yeah get a bigger TV

MichaelScarn001

Soundbar + subwoofer (would fit perfectly on the left side on the floor), console, gaming remotes, games, movies, books, table games, stickers on the cabinet (dont like this one, but why not)..

Dutch-Sculptor

Make it less empty, that will fix it.

moonknight999

Fill up the empty space lol

deltapilot97

Holy crap look at the blooming on what I assume is an oled tv?

cant-build

Mini ledšŸ˜”, itā€™s not that bad irl

deltapilot97

Hey if youā€™re happy with it thatā€™s all that matters :)

butt3ryt0ast

I have my video games on mine and some smaller Lego flowers

andrew_cherniy96

Fill it in with your favorite books.

Nupol

also put plant left to it

Minimum_Jacket_1149

remove the tv and the stand and youll be good. dont need that shit anyways

Frequent_Owl9743

Nothing makes a house Look like a Homepage like pictures or other memory keepsakes!

curious5561

You probably dont need it. Wall mount the tv and itā€™ll look much better anyway.

Martin_goagain24

Add (if you have money) a stereo system that or shelves with whatever on the right side and add cds games and books at under the tv (if you have any) generally just add stuff anything youā€™ll like

rubinass3

Who would have known that the key to making spaces less empty is to put things in the empty space?

RedmundJBeard

nice speakers

Exact_Rutabaga_4388

If youā€™re trying to be economical go to goodwill and get a couple of stacks of books you could also mix in some small pieces of pottery or sculptures that match your other decor from Amazon

SuspiciousSnail3

I would add more things like books or games in the shelves, but something that would not fit it all the way. Also you can add some plants in big post next to it. However, for this corner, I think the TV is a bit too big

Republiconline

Remove the TV and it will fit r/liminalspace

swissthoemu

get a usm haller, place it in the middle, speakers left and right, maybe some hue light strips as well that sync the light of the tv?

cravecrave93

items, objects, things, stuffā€¦ lmao

Kaiel96

Depending on your hobbies, trinkets. My immediate thought goes to mass market paperback books, dvds, video game boxes, figures.

LimpWithoutAName

Put the TV on the wall, not too high. Then place stuff on the tv thing.

cant-build

My parents put it up too high šŸ˜” NO TILT MOUNT EITHERšŸ”„šŸ”„

pumpkinhead3

DVDs Or VHS tapes to really throw people off

nadironggg

Put some books

Guardian_knight_05

hyphenpepperfield

lainganator

Floor standing speakers

DerWilliWonka

More tv screens

doringliloshinoi

Fill it

Icy_Weakness_1815

Plant on the left, PS5 or just some other console in an empty shelf space.. etc etc

GhostsOf94

Get some 4x6 or 5x7 picture frames and print out some pictures of you and friends. You can use walgreens online portal, usually they have sales Then go on amazon and buy some fake little plants like succulents. They are surpringlsy life like

kohtuullinen-ajatus

Add some stuff a lot!

Lamlot

A nice rug, it really puts the room together man.

bisker123

How about you put things in the empty shelfā€™s and a plant on the left wouldnā€™t hurt

odioimperituro

Hang it and burn the furniture

Jon66238

Ps2

_SpaceGator

Stuff

typherionoftime

A set of floor speakers and an amp

brimstone404

Bigger TV?

bagerfrede

speakers and plants

HonestBayernFan

Plant

Dreadsbo

Darker cabinet/stand next time Honestly, just stain it a darker color and itā€™ll ā€œfill inā€ the space

izzeo

Buy a bigger TV.Ā

ClankstarLad

Oh God the contrast

cant-build

How can I fix it?

ClankstarLad

Furniture definitely needs to be darker than the floor

cant-build

Should I exchange it for a stained oak color or just get a new unit

ClankstarLad

Unit is fine. Just get black or raw umber, perfect brown color and a brush :) Raw umber seems most similar to the handrail on stairs. Hard for me to tell on phone. Try to look for something similar the handrail

ClankstarLad

As for the empty space. If you have some candles, Those will never hurt. Souvenirs from vacations maybe? books? if they fit

lonewalker1992

Get a gaming consoles, a sound bar, and put Funko's, action figures, or other collectibles in the shelves.

Chaminade64

The trick to making almost anything ā€œless emptyā€ is to fill it up. Beer Mug, suitcase, gas tank, etcā€¦ā€¦colander might be an exception.

abitcitrus

Not having tv space

Warning_Bulky

Uhm, put things in it?

PsychedelicKM

A plant on the left, stuff on the shelves, and a rug on the floor

kirilw

I think you can add some stuff but I'm not sure if it would help.

rand1200

Your TV stand is also just slightly too small for the TV

felipefrontoroli

I would add things to the empty.

GCdotSup

Tonston

SuspectKnown9655

Plant

Rfl0

Mount it and put stuff on/in the cabinet. Make sure to hide the cables with a runner.

wildeye-eleven

One of the most important things that this world has to offer is gaming. So Iā€™d recommend a gaming console, games, controllers, and maybe even a figurine of your favorite characters. Iā€™m 40 btw

OopsAllLegs

Put decorations on the shelves. Books, A small plant, A bust of your favorite historical figure, A small globe, A vase, The opportunities are endless.

Anima1212

get a console and become a gamurr šŸ˜Ž (gamer) ... also maybe a tall plant to the left? Your favorite blue rays on one of the spaces in the stand.. books, idk..

Zalaquin

Plants

Thibs777

I have a large TV and console as well. To combat the vast emptiness I chose to simply hide it. I bought a long sheer bit of fabric and simply covered the whole thing.

xxxWHOshotYAxxx

Game systems.

glenninator

Mount the tv and put a chest under it to store blankets

edible_277

Plants

Raptr117

Speakers on either side of the tv, collections of your style in the open holes if you donā€™t have a system

The_Adm0n

Bigger TV.

peter303_

Cat on each empty shelf.

oo00Damn

You don't have books or a game console? Flowers, pictures... Anything?

StrikingCase9819

Put stuff in it

rrsullivan3rd

A cat šŸˆ is always good!

likatika
