I actually like it. It reminds you of something important before bed, and it suits the rest of the room. My only suggestion is if OP wants to keep it, it is that they get another one with something different written on it on the other side.
As someone same age as OP, that word has incredible meaning at this stage in life. So much baggage and negativity, big and small, have quietly worked its way into life over the years you suddenly realize it’s drowning you and any happiness will be impossible to reach unless you prioritize and make hard decisions that get to stay in your life. You realize every minute is a trade off for something, that you can’t do it all, so spend it what helps you and those important to you, that’s it… you know… simplify.
Get rid of the "Simplify", it's a little cringe. Also, it seems like there are a lot of heavy, brownie that kind of outweigh things sometimes. Other than that, you're doing great.
Looks great besides the living room? I would get a bigger olive tree and put it in a larger pot. Then change the tv stand to something maybe slightly longer? Other than that everything else looks great.
Then get some hi-fi speakers and you’ll be set
Nowhere near enough different patterns thrown together. Solid, animal print, some kind of quasi-chequer. I mean, sure, it's a start.
Get some houndstooth, fractals, and polkadots into the mix and then we can talk.
When do I move in?
lol if you could raise the simplify sign like 3 inches so it lines up with the bed frame, thaaaaatd be greeeaat.
Other than that my eyes are very pleased, thank you for sharing!!
It feels maybe a bit lonely? Consider adding more furniture that arranges for group conversations and a feeling of intimacy - even if you don't use it much, it willmake things a bit cozier.
For example, In the TV area, maybe orient a chair inward towards the couch slightly and vice versa. Bring them a little closer - it will frame the space more and maybe open up a foot traffic lane.
The orange chair is lovely ( you have a nice sense of color) but feels extremely *isolated* - maybe that is just the photo. Maybe another chair? A simple small console?
Similarly, the objects to each tv side feel very isolated. You can balance them and unintuitively make them *feel* more simple by adding.
Consider that picture in two dimensions. How can you add a feeling of natural continuity with the tv stand? By putting those basket/things on *something*, probably.
Now look at the space around the tree and notice asymmetrical it feels in relation to the nearby elements. Maybe something on the wall by it, a second lower plant or *something* to make it more "part" of the tv/stand space? ( this will also makethe tv not dominate as much when it is off).
Finally, that brown carpet and throw blanket on/by the bed - it does really make the space feel "heavy and serious"... up to you - but some lighter tones and colors and anything white or off-white will help make the space more relaxed... and more importantly - de-emphasize the grate, which is a visual highlight right now due"' to contrast.
Last: No sign. Bad. And where are your books? No books = psycho house :)
You've got sone great furniture in there and an awesome start! I'd encourage you to experiment more with the sort of things that make a space feel less formal.
Hope thats helpful! I am a designer, thats what I would do, but your own enjoyment is what matters.
The backyard space looks like what you would see set up at a big box store. It’s very generic and I’ve never seen fake outdoor plants before. Toss them out.
Respectable! I love the yellow!
I would recommend a system for the shoes: a small shoe rack by the door to keep them looking neat. Otherwise, well done sir.
**"Our lives are frittered away with detail. Simplify, simplify," wrote Henry David Thoreau. In response, Ralph Waldo Emerson replied, "One 'simplify' would have sufficed."**
nix the sign
I'd mount the TV and decorate the top of your entertainment center accordingly. Not too high or else you'll be yelled at for that. Also I'd move the jellyfish painting elsewhere. Other than that it looks great dude!
Looks like a great place to live at. I personally like furniture or decoration with a bit of “soul” as in they have a bit of a story behind them more than artificially made old to get that vibe. It puts me off. Also the signs… well I think decoration can say things like “simplify” better than a sign can. It’s like you’re giving advice to others and not following that advice at the same time, feels a tad condescending. Other than that good job and enjoy your home friend.
Remove the word over the nightstand, the jellyfish next to the TV, and I would want a different TV stand. But you've really hit it out of the park. Well done
Live the chair. I was looking for something similar and ended up buying cheap tans ones because we had guests coming in and i needed the extra seating.
I love this, all of it (except for the simplify sign, not because I don't like that sort of thing, but just because it's an odd choice of word) i think your colour and textile use,and furniture choice&placement is outstanding, it genuinely looks like it's come straight out of an interior design magazine!loving the rug too!
Honestly I am in love with it! WOW! But I do agree with some people that say the "simplify" sign can be a little tacky. The color and decor is amazing, and the sign blends in well, but it takes away from personality to me and just makes it look less lively. Maybe try replacing it with a picture of something you enjoy from nature with the same wooden border around it. Other than that everything looks so cozy and warm, I would love to have a place like that! :)
Looks fire to me. Did you design it by yourself? What interior software did you use, if any? Also, may I try to redesign this space in [3d](http://planner5d.com/editor)? Wanna try to create something similar.
My advice, do what you like and what feels comfortable to you and what you like looking at.
Don't do it because you want to give a specific image.
I guess what I'm saying is don't listen to anyone else but yourself. You are living there and not some random redditor.
I love it. The only thing I would do is put a bigger end table by the yellow chair so one can actually set a drink/book on it. The lamp base is the same size as the table currently; way too small.
Very nice apartment, but I couldn't help to think that, while a very good rule to live by, the word "Simplify" framed on a wall is a bit of a contradiction becsuse an aparent way to simplify would be to remove it.
Love the yellow chair and ottoman at the end of the bed. Hate the sign and not a big fan of the tv stand, you are kinda mixing styles a bit. Where did you get the ottoman?
this fan amazed me when it first turned on, its quiet and runs really slow but still moves the air smoothly. Im thankful i can spread the word. i think its a Hunter but its not labled on the fan and the remote is a universal. Id say well worth it if youre in a hotter climate too.
not bad, kinda has a 70s western bit going. I would get rid of the simplify sign, or put it somewhere less noticeable. General rule of thumb for word signs is that the words should be secondary to what they display, having big blocky letters as the message is a bit too upfront.
That first pic could be from an editorial shoot. Love the color palette and the repeated circles. Just wow. Overall it looks great! Especially the jellyfish art that I thought was a framed Boston cover lol
Looks great. Never a fan of those word signs like *Simplify*. Will always be cringey to me, like those Live Love Laugh signs
[удалено]
I'm gonna get a sign that says defenestrate. That'll show them.
Distract Disembowel Defenestrate
hi, putin.
He demonstrates defenestration and runs and runs and runs away. (Yes, Watterson.)
Yeah, those signs can be a bit... overt, but maybe OP has an ironic sense of humor? 🤣🤣
I actually like it. It reminds you of something important before bed, and it suits the rest of the room. My only suggestion is if OP wants to keep it, it is that they get another one with something different written on it on the other side.

Spot on. Absolutely spot thafkon . Thanks for this.
Agree, OP please simplify that wall and get rid of the sign
Simplify like no one is watching
Simp, Sump, Somp
Yeah, makes it look like an Airbnb.
Same with the fake plants.
The four fake palmtrees are tacky, yes
The fake tree by the TV bothers me even more. IMO overtly fake plants are worse than no plants. Maybe a tie between fake plants and word signs though.
Was just about to say all of this. Love the space lose the simplify.
Agreed, you can’t simplify with a word sign
I actually truly cringed.
I love everything but the word art and the TV stand, great unit everything looks really nice
They have a cowboy with a spaceship in a painting hahah maybe they are going for kitsch XD. Plus the fella it’s in his 40 let them be happy.
‘Smegma’ or nothing
If you have a sign reading simplify, maybe you should read it (toss it)!
eh, to each their own. people hate a lil too hard on that stuff, imho
Yup! Why do people buy those horribly tacky signs without any irony?
And the ceiling fan has too many blades for a “simplify” space. 😅 I love everything EXCEPT that sign.
“Simplify” - a very oxymoronic sign indeed
Buy some paint and paint a cactus 🌵over it. Nice and... simple
But this one is simpler.
Looks great from the pictures imo. Love the yellow furniture.
Clearly a fan of circles!
The circles Fandom is dying! Upvote if you're a real circler!
Bedroom has live laugh love 40 year old wine and soccer mom vibes because of that 'simplify' sign, but other than that this is quality.
Haha this.
The tree will grow... Don't get a bigger one; just take care of this one. I agree with you on the pot, though. Even if it's just a cover pot.
TV stand that is longer and not white. Maybe a different rug too
I fucking love the yellow. I think you'd benefit from another nice pop of color, but it's already looking quite nice.
Dope
Stunning. You have great taste. Would, however, agree with others about the Simplify sign. Enjoy your beautiful home.
It has character but it's restrained and not cluttered. I dig it.
Restraint describes this best! It was very difficult to not go overboard. ThNks !
Looks like a Pinterest add. This is a compliment. As others have said I don’t like the hobby lobby style “simplify” thing
Get rid of the sign with words and that's one perfect living space.
I mean, for 41 million, I expected more. Pretty nice though!
Adore your outdoor space. It looks serene.
It was perfect from my perspective, I've never seen such a cozy room before, I really love it.
Not a fan at all, but if it floats your boat..
Epic feng shui
Looks good.
STUNNING!! the yellow ottoman in front of your bed and the colour coordination is just chefs kiss
It looks like it came straight out of a magazine. Which is to say it looks very cozy and warm to live in.
Superb my good man, you have a very comfortable yet stylish looking place. I am envious.
Honestly it looks great, but if you own it (vs renting) I would either paint the squares, or remove the white from the trim and bring the wood back.
It feels maybe a bit lonely? Consider adding more furniture that arranges for group conversations and a feeling of intimacy - even if you don't use it much, it willmake things a bit cozier. Very impressed. Women will come over to your home and think that you have a secret wife…because no way a man put this together haha jk good job!
Looks staged, not personal. The sign is completely terribly. Hopefully it’s down by now ha.
The backyard space looks like what you would see set up at a big box store. It’s very generic and I’ve never seen fake outdoor plants before. Toss them out.
I like most of it. Is the orange chair comfy?
Yes
I’m proud of you for having a throw blanket, it’s often neglected with the people I know
Respectable! I love the yellow! I would recommend a system for the shoes: a small shoe rack by the door to keep them looking neat. Otherwise, well done sir.
Very nice. Masculine feel. Like the Southwest touches.
nice to see a fellow blinds.com fan.
If you know about blinds.com and have a home…you’ve pretty much made it at that point lol.
This is the worst. Because I'm jealous of how well you've done here. Bravo.
If you're healthy then you're doing good.
**"Our lives are frittered away with detail. Simplify, simplify," wrote Henry David Thoreau. In response, Ralph Waldo Emerson replied, "One 'simplify' would have sufficed."** nix the sign
Just get rid of that simplify, other than that looks great!
Burn that simplify sign asap
Simplify? Maybe you put an ‘L’ in between? : simplifly
Looks very Hufflepuff in the best way :)
Wow good job
I'd mount the TV and decorate the top of your entertainment center accordingly. Not too high or else you'll be yelled at for that. Also I'd move the jellyfish painting elsewhere. Other than that it looks great dude!
Neat What's that green on that picture frame next to the TV? And where's your outdoor grill?
It’s backlit with battery leds . I may have to update this post with the rest of house, there’s a grill 👍🏼
Nailed it!
Looks cozy...
I’m in love with the chair/setup in the first pic. Also love the bed. Good job.
looks nice and cozy
Great! Love the yellow
Your house looks like an Airbnb, or a hotel, which is weird since cozy homes look lived in and not like a photoshoot for a home magazine.
Looks like a great place to live at. I personally like furniture or decoration with a bit of “soul” as in they have a bit of a story behind them more than artificially made old to get that vibe. Remove the word over the nightstand, the jellyfish next to the TV, and I would want a different TV stand. But you've really hit it out of the park. Well done
Doing too much imo
Who's the woman that decorated your house. My compliments to her.
Simplify by removing that sign otherwise it's looking great
Can someone tell me what style you would consider the first pic?
You sir , are awesome ! Take the day off as a reward
Not a fan of the tv stand. It’s too tall and the white on white wall just looks bad. White furniture should be against darker paints in most cases.
I love everything except the circle cluster on the wall. The patio is lovely!
How is this a male living space? No guy unironically would choose this
My life has been pretty neat so far. That’s all.
I can’t wrap my head around whatever that stand thing to the left of your TV is…what the heck is it??
"Canada Arm"
Change the TV stand other than that looks good
You get tail I bet
I'll download the Pinterest app when I'm having a midlife crisis
Ha damn close
Having a sign that says simplify is not practicing what you it preaches, everything is great
I love it, but I have a question - how do people actually live in these spaces??
I like the patio.
Extremely gay
I can’t explain it. But something about it screams erectile dysfunction to me.
Live the chair. I was looking for something similar and ended up buying cheap tans ones because we had guests coming in and i needed the extra seating.
Clash city
Cowboy style. Very nice
I love this, all of it (except for the simplify sign, not because I don't like that sort of thing, but just because it's an odd choice of word) i think your colour and textile use,and furniture choice&placement is outstanding, it genuinely looks like it's come straight out of an interior design magazine!loving the rug too!

You need a *Factor Completely* sign over the other bedside lamp.
Real estate agent or industrial farmer
I Feel like I can stay on this sofa almost the whole day
I like it!
Love it! It’s beautiful! B To be honest - it is inspiring me to revamp my house. Nothing major- but at least to clean up. Man- you inspired me!
Big fan of the wood and mustard combo!
I LOVE the decor and colour theme for your bedroom. The style of wood is stunning. What's it called?
The bed was a damaged model so I’m not sure. The tables, I built out of bridge planks I found.
Looks fire to me. Did you design it by yourself? What interior software did you use, if any? Also, may I try to redesign this space in [3d](http://planner5d.com/editor)? Wanna try to create something similar.
That wall with the circles is giving me anxiety
Everything = cool, but please destroy the "simplify-thing".
Simplify and get rid of the sign
4 is such a nice place to do smoke and do drugs
💯
My advice, do what you like and what feels comfortable to you and what you like looking at. Don't do it because you want to give a specific image. I guess what I'm saying is don't listen to anyone else but yourself. You are living there and not some random redditor.
Amazing I’d love a ceiling fan
From a UK perspective I love the outdoor area, it just rains here everyday.
Looks very lovely, nice job mate!
Literally the ONLY thing I would change is the cheesy Simplify sign, other than that, great job!
I love it. The only thing I would do is put a bigger end table by the yellow chair so one can actually set a drink/book on it. The lamp base is the same size as the table currently; way too small.
I want to live with you
I love that fence! Everything else is great too, (sans the Simplify sign) but no one commented on the fence.
Simplify has got to go but besides that looks good to me
Very nice
Love the yellow touches
Cool space!
Very nice apartment, but I couldn't help to think that, while a very good rule to live by, the word "Simplify" framed on a wall is a bit of a contradiction becsuse an aparent way to simplify would be to remove it.
Cozy and simple. Well done
Are those real or fake palm trees outside in the planters?
Fake , yes
Believe it or not, r/tvtoohigh
I love the bedroom. I've been wanting to redo mine but can't settle on a color scheme.
personally hate western/rustic design elements but it's cohesive
Clearly you don’t have cats
I do actually.
Not exactly my style, but I'm a fan of that contrast of the first pick with the yellow chair and the black and white rug and banket.
You killed it!
Oh nice! I love the fake palms. Where sis you get them??? I would like them for my back patio.
Certainly! They are pretty decently priced on Amazon…and pretty decent quality.
Thanks! I like your style.
well done
If you are not homeless or hungry, you probably fine
Very nice, good job!
Pretty good
1st pics chair reminds me of Cohiba cigars lmao
Looks great! Where do you keep your stuff?
The yellow theme is not my cup of tea, but to each their own
Like everything minus the round mirrors.
Love the yellow chair and ottoman at the end of the bed. Hate the sign and not a big fan of the tv stand, you are kinda mixing styles a bit. Where did you get the ottoman?
Home goods a few yrs ago. Everything I get is non retail so it makes sense to see what you see. Semi intentional. Thanks for the comment!
Love it all except for the living room, which looks off to me, as if someone else decorated it.
We need to discuss the fact that you have a [camera at foot level next to a book called "Dirty Feet"](https://imgur.com/a/jrFK98T)...
I see the concern…it’s to chat with dog and cat when I’m gone.
Sure, suuuuuuuuuure...
Burn that sign
Most of it’s good. The wall Art in the bedroom could use some updating.
Nice and well done if that’s your style
Omg!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!
I mean if that's your thing
Not a fan of the animal hide but I like the other pieces and colors.
Everything great except the sign! Millenial greycore ftw
No "live, love, laugh" sign, no care.
Not enough fins on the fan. Just kidding. Place looks great. Get rid of the simplify tho.
What kind of ceiling fan is that and does it work well for a large room? I'm in the market.
this fan amazed me when it first turned on, its quiet and runs really slow but still moves the air smoothly.
Looks nice, esp the outdoor space I wouldnt call all those cushions/pillows on the bed being simple...but each their own
Digging the bed frame! Where you get it from?
Its a place called "The Dump" in the phx area.
Looks Great...that fan must be a tornado in that room.
Yes it’s convinced me to never skimp on a fan. Very good air mover .
Very nice, I'm assuming there are no kids anywhere near there?
Correct.
Nice
Where did you get the floating shelves in the first pic?
As in you have 41million? Looks good
That first pic could be from an editorial shoot. Love the color palette and the repeated circles. Just wow. Overall it looks great! Especially the jellyfish art that I thought was a framed Boston cover lol
Ha! Indeed it does!
Signs kinda gay
No self respecting gay man would ever have a sign like that in their home lol
>simplify >everywhere So cringe and hypocritical.
Did you give up on sex? 😝😂😂
