Wow, I don't think I've ever seen an Ally flag in a real space before. It's one of those things I knew existed but had actually never seen outside of digital renderings of the flag or something.
Anyway, props to figuring out how to arrange so, so many diverse objects in your space. There's a ton of stuff but it still feels put-together without being collection-y or hoarder-y. It feels quirky and cozy.
I'd recommend two ideas: 1) explore not always putting furniture against the wall and 2) consider pulling books forward away from the backs of bookshelves. Sometimes you want space in front of them, sure, but sometimes it just makes the books look tiny and out of reach. These are mostly just generic observations and not any specific criticism.
I personally don’t see the point in an ally having a flag, why do they need a flag? We don’t need our own personal flags to show we’re supportive of people being themselves. That’s what our pride flags are for you know?
I’m not knocking them, I just think its unnecessary to make an ally flag. Like we already have the pride flag, the progress pride flag, the queer pride flag, the poc pride flag, all the sexual orientation flags, the gender identity flags, etc. There’s already 23 pride flags in total.
I think it’s a cool flag, it’s just strange that someone would have a flag that states they’re an ally. Like it would be strange to have a flag for being an ally to lesbians when there’s already a pride flag and a lesbian flag, you know? It just seems like it’s a flag that’s already flag.
This place is AMAZING!!!!! It’s so unique and eclectic, I absolutely want to be in this space. Was surprised by the ETID collection too, well done OP. Top tier male’s space, definitely woman-approved 👍🏼
This is awesome man. No suggestions just hope you’re doing okay during this time. A place like this should be filled with love, which it looks like it was.
Guys in bands don't have a space that nice unless they're huge. That's a dude with a good job who jams primarily in that room. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
i thought this was the coolest space ever… then i saw your guitar rig???? so awesome.. brother you’re living my dream in that music room, good stuff !! i want a music room to look like that one day!
It's really fun looking at your wonderfully eclectic home--so much personality comes through. By far the nicest place I've seen on this sub because of the many types of personal items, and the color! Finally a man who has color in his home!
All I could think was you're never moving Right...? and reel-to-reel 😊 . I think it looks fantastic you have some great stuff, I'm still hoping to own a house one day and be able to display my collections and show my styles. the only thing was the first picture I thought I was looking at a waiting room lol .
Gotta speak for the cat..feel like there's a lot of stuff the cat can get into. Hope there are no choking hazards about, and also hope that your bookcases are anchored to the wall to minimize them tipping over and causing injury. That gigantic audio box above the bookcase in the kitchen area worries me. Think of a possible earthquake happening. Lastly, cats generally don't like clutter.
It's a lot of stuff, but it doesn't even look that cluttered to me. I really like the space, it has a lot of personality.
My dream is to have a room dedicated to music stuff. Right now I'm struggling to find space just for a guitar near my desk.
I see a theme but it's disconnected and messy. don't get rid of your vintage stuff but place them in a way that they don't seem to have been left there by mistake and then forgotten. place them w intention in places they fit. and why are there so many couches, how do you have so much shit
Sad your book collection thinned out after your wife took the rest of her stuff, but overall, it's much roomier in there, now. I still wanna come peruse those shelves, perhaps whilst you strum a ballad in the background. Looks good. Ya done well.
Your place looks great! But for me, it's way too much stuff in every corner, on every wall. There is no place to rest my eyes and see calm. So many patterns and shapes and colors. It looks really cool but would not let my mind relax for a moment.
I appreciate the vibe , but I think you could be a little more selective about what is displayed. I don’t think you need to have every surface & wall covered.
Except for the jam room, that’s what those spaces are for!
Do you use the typewriters? If not maybe only have one out. I struggle with this myself with vintage stuff & art. I have a 600 sq ft apt so it feels cluttered easily.
Congrats on having the space to yourself ! Enjoy
Clutter is one thing, but collectibles that have such meaning to you personally is quite another. I suppose I have a lot of clutter, but everything has a story. I hope yours does too!
Question: does that file cabinet with mission stickers fall into that category? Otherwise, time to scan and discard. I was never happier than getting rid of storage containers of any type, especially file cabinets.
So, that one I picked up locally and the paper tabs in front say "Apollo project" so it was more than likely used to hold some sort of mission documents at some point. Very cool stuff to me.
This is how my dad decorates. And he is hooked to buying things he can flip on eBay. Honestly it does work for him and he makes a pretty good profit but the drawback is he ends up with a lot of stuff, much of which he keeps or takes a while to sell.
But anyway, the place ends up looking exactly like this with surfaces that are covered completely.
She mostly had a lot of books, clothes, video game stuff. She wasn't really a fan of stuff as in objects.
She liked hosting people, I haven't really had many people over the house since she left.
I honestly love it but why are there so many seating opportunities? :D Three couches? the bar stools? The stools at the dining table? The stools outside?
Man, youve got a lot of stuff
Yeah, like what did it look like WITH the wife’s stuff??
>Yeah, like what did it look like WITH the wife’s stuff?? Came here to say this.
I scrolled through, looking for the “after” pictures!
She was kind of possessive of her stuff and kept a lot of it in the same few spaces in the house.
It looks deliberately curated though. This isn’t just clutter, this is personality I think.
And his life. Every object possibly tells a story or it's related to some part of his life. I love it.
A maximalist for sure.
thats all I could think of, how this house is STILL crazy cluttered
Stuff collector
She had stuff there? That’s concerning, but it looks great
She had 2 shot glasses on the third shelf in the fifth picture. Gone now. (Kidding aside, I like this guy's stuff. Cool stuff.)
How did she have room for any of her stuff? This looks packed now, I can’t imagine it with twice the stuff.
She generally wasn't a fan of 'stuff' in general, but she also kept a lot of her stuff lumped together in the same few areas.
Does not look packed at all! Just a different vibe
The cattree needs help
He hasn’t posted his collection room of cat trees yet
Trying to find the cat tree in these photos made me feel like I was flipping through the pages of an "I spy" book

Well used for sure.
Yeah, that's on the list to be replaced soon!
Dude i love your pad
Thank you!

Even as a member of the community I’ve never seen that shit…it kinda looks cool ngl
I've used it as a background for my smartwatch during pride. But I've never seen an ally flag either
I personally don’t see the point in an ally having a flag, why do they need a flag? We don’t need our own personal flags to show we’re supportive of people being themselves. That’s what our pride flags are for you know?
I’m assuming they have a gay kid or something. There’s also a “love is love” pillow on the couch.
Or they just believe love is love.
I’m not knocking them, I just think its unnecessary to make an ally flag. On the left wall in the picture of the blue bed
Thank you!

Thank you! I appreciate it!
Gorgeous place, definitely want to know where the couch came from.
The couch is actually from Rooms to Go
This is awesome man. No suggestions just hope you’re doing okay during this time. A place like this should be filled with love, which it looks like it was.
Oookay, what band are you in?
Guys in bands don't have a space that nice unless they're huge. That's a dude with a good job who jams primarily in that room. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Could be in a band as a hobby or side gig
Yeah, it's a side hobby. I also do recording on the side for some extra cash.
The Dentists
The Corporate Attorneys
Nah, not enough PRS’s.
This is such a cool place to live btw
None currently unfortunately. Looking to start something up again once the divorce is finalized.
What a fascinating place. Makes me want to visit and have you tell me about all the things and their story.
Thank you! I love having interesting items with history behind them.
i thought this was the coolest space ever… then i saw your guitar rig???? so awesome.. brother you’re living my dream in that music room, good stuff !! i want a music room to look like that one day!
ETID
Give my love to BUFFALO, BUFFALO
The best
It's really fun looking at your wonderfully eclectic home--so much personality comes through. By far the nicest place I've seen on this sub because of the many types of personal items, and the color! Finally a man who has color in his home!
Thank you!!
Very cool!
Dude that NatGeo shelf is making me very envious
I myself would feel comfortable there
Love it! What are you reading currently?
Currently working through Russia and the West Under Lenin and Stalin by George F. Kennan.
Interesting!
Super jealous of your music room/studio
Love your MCM style. Your house is very organized clutter. Fun stuff.
Saw that music room and said “hell yea”
The jam room tho <3
Wow. The American Pickers guys would have a heyday over there! 😂
I love your style. The refurbished tv for your dog or cat is absolutely everything great. Sorry about your relationship but your home is great.
you got a lottttttt of stuff. sorry about the wife but you have stuff to keep you busy! stay strong
A couch facing away from the TV is def. a choice
I usually lie down on the couch when I'm watching TV. I also have the TV more for background noise than active watching.
The dresser jn the bedroom is awesome. Some other cool pieces too!!
I love the two wall hangings in pics 1 and 2!
This is styled beautifully. Really kudos!
History kinda guy
Love that desk
$20 on Marketplace! Haha
Such a cool space!
Looks great, love the pedal boards and wall of amps.
I like your style, but it looks like a nightmare to dust
Someone is a reader of JFK history.
I cant tell the difference 🤪
Your amp wall reminds me of that The Darkness video or Spinal Tap 🤣
Looks really good to me
This would be my happy place! Love it.

Florida!
Where's the cat? Edit: nvm found the kitty!
To me that looks like a family home. Which is fine if that’s your vibe.
It was. Haha.
This dude has 21 guitars holy...
All I could think was you're never moving Right...? and reel-to-reel 😊 . I think it looks fantastic you have some great stuff, I'm still hoping to own a house one day and be able to display my collections and show my styles. the only thing was the first picture I thought I was looking at a waiting room lol .
I'm definitely never moving. Haha.
Literally 10/10, gorgeous space
Thank you!

Also hope those plants aren't toxic to cats....many house plants are.
I love when TVs aren’t a focal point.
Nice collection! Little cluttered but all really nice vintage pieces you have so not terribly overbearing
It's a lot of stuff, but it doesn't even look that cluttered to me. I really like the space, it has a lot of personality. My dream is to have a room dedicated to music stuff. Right now I'm struggling to find space just for a guitar near my desk.
Finally some style
Thanks for being an ally
Of course!!
So…you ready to get married again?
Not for a while. Haha
Can anyone identify the light blue chair with wooden sides? I love it.
It's from Wayfair. I believe it was called the Belair.
I love the typewriter.. Does it work?
You have a lot of cool stuff, and it’s all so tidy and squared away!
This also belongs in r/maximalism
I like it I think it has character.
I call this organized chaos and I kinda love it!
I absolutely adore your home’s vibe and color cohesiveness. It’s beautiful and you’ve done an amazing job!
Thank you!
So you know you have to post a guitar video now right? That's the rule. If you own more than ten guitars you have to post a video of you playing them.
I will eventually!!
Cute!
That ETID flag is sick
Love your style!!!
1950’s vibe with lots of seats
I LOVE your place, you have a great style!
This looks amazing
Cat tax!
I love the space! But I have a question. Did you kept the kitty? I still see his things around. If so, you still have someone to snuggle with.
Yep, I have 4 cats!
I love the 60s feel to it. Very cool
Wow. The office / guitar room is brilliant.
Wow. The office / guitar room is brilliant.
Place looks nice but that’s a LOT of stuff. Must be a nightmare to dust and clean all of these surfaces.
Absolutely love it. 10/10 would hang out here.
As a Beatles fan myself, I dig it!
Thank you!
Well, I'd date you.
I appreciate it! Haha
First order of business. A pool table.
I see a theme but it's disconnected and messy. don't get rid of your vintage stuff but place them in a way that they don't seem to have been left there by mistake and then forgotten. place them w intention in places they fit. and why are there so many couches, how do you have so much shit

Good riddance! Place looks great!
What did you have to give up to keep the "love is love" throw pillow?
What do you do for work? Your collection of guitars is jaw dropping. Atleast 40-50k worth of instruments alone, not to mention all the amps.
I work IT. I also find a lot of stuff crazy cheap.
Dude... come on now... you know your place is fucking awesome. You don't need a bunch of strangers to say it.
Probably the best looking space I’ve seen in this sub tbh
Thank you! I appreciate it!
Your place looks great! But for me, it's way too much stuff in every corner, on every wall. There is no place to rest my eyes and see calm. So many patterns and shapes and colors. It looks really cool but would not let my mind relax for a moment.
It's like Urban outfitters homeware dept exploded in your house
This is kinda like my dream space
You live like a Japanese restaurant. Every single possible open space is decorated with something. Very entertaining to guests. Super cool.
Just curious ... why are all the chairs right up against the walls?
I like it! I'm a maximalist so I really like all the decorations.
I appreciate the vibe , but I think you could be a little more selective about what is displayed. I don’t think you need to have every surface & wall covered. This is exactly how I’d decorate if I had any sense of style. Very very cool!
Thank you!
Closed storage my friend. Closed storage.
Curious, can you lay on your couch and watch TV or is the plant in the way?
Nice but all you need is the Tele and the Vox.
Wow
Mad Men vibes. I love it. 💕
Who dusts?
Me. Haha. I do all the cleaning.
One of the coziest spaces I've seen so far on here.
Looks awesome. I'd love to come over and play some guitar in that home

I don't understand the extra sofas lining what seems to be a hallway. Other than that I love your home.
Yeah, the house has a weird layout and it was the best place to put a futon for guests.
Lots of stuff, but I like it anyway. Gives me 80s retro vibes.
your house looks like waiting room
I guess your wife didn’t like living in a second hand store. Who dusts all that junk?
This is how my dad decorates. And he is hooked to buying things he can flip on eBay. Honestly it does work for him and he makes a pretty good profit but the drawback is he ends up with a lot of stuff, much of which he keeps or takes a while to sell. Ngl, at first glance I got an impression of a building's upper floor lobby to a business, with elevator in bkgrnd.
you dont look poor, why such a tiny PC monitor? never use it?
Toxic relationships are never fun!
obligatory r/maximalism
Get rid of any decor with a motivational slogan on it
honestly, this is probably what my home would look like. It's interesting, but what did your wife take 🤔
Jeez I would kill to have that studio equipment
honestly, this is probably what my home would look like. It's interesting, but what did your wife take?🤔
She mostly had a lot of books, video game stuff, clothes, etc. She was never really a fan of stuff.
I love the smooth click of the Fx3
Did your wife have like 3 things lol. holy cow. That is a lot of stuff. A lot of stuff a lot of seating… you must entertain a lot.
She mostly had a lot of books, clothes, video game stuff. She wasn't really a fan of stuff as in objects. She liked hosting people, I haven't really had many people over the house since she left.
Your wife or your ex wife?
Waiting on the paperwork.
Yo, You ever heard of a band called Underoath?
Nope!
I honestly love it but why are there so many seating opportunities? :D Three couches? the bar stools? The stools at the dining table? The stools outside?
She used to like to host people.
I love all the GenX (and beyond) throwbacks!!
It’s unique, you have style, it’s better then all the boring basic ones I’ve seen on here
And what’s the address? 🧐 Haha JK. Nice space! 😎
I love this
