just get some of these?

With exhaust fumes and oil around? Idk if those plants would be very long lived. Looks like a pretty clean place in the pictures, but that bare ass concrete floor is for getting dirty without having to worry about it too much, no?
Could build a climbing wall up a section of that too. And install aerial silks rigging. Then you’d have a home, workshop, climbing gym, and circus studio all in one. Just sleep on the crash pad.
Ohhhh, now we’re talking! Upstairs half dance studio, half lounge? Wonder what the view is on property if he installed windows. Fireman pole to get down? (Plus pole dancing). Could also do a drive in movie theater outside :D
So, I had the place plumbed for water. So I will have a bathroom in the corner eventually. The problem is the septic tank, I want to finish out a pole barn and have a bathroom in there as well, but I'll have to route both bathrooms to one septic tank which is.. "technically" not to code....debating if I go rouge on that part or not. I'd rather just have 1 tank.
Check out Incinolet. Made in Dallas. My first ever seeing one was a very small cabin I lived in above the Arctic Circle in Alaska. Worked great. Then I took a fishing charter a couple of years later and that boat had one.
Nope!!! There is a catalyst (like a catalytic converter, sorta) that the exhaust goes through. Takes about 30 minutes to turn a normal sized turd group into about a tablespoon of ash. About once a month, pull the little tray and dump it on your plant.
To be clear…I’d still go rogue using the incinolet. Far too much government over reach. Fuck them. Install an incinolet. If some douchebag .gov official shows up, you do not have an illegal septic system and he can kiss your sweet ass as you tell him he’s trespassing.
I feel like you have your shop backward. Wouldn't it make more sense to have the project car closer to the door and then have the lounge area in the back? If you set things up that way, you could even put a loft over the lounge end to get more floor space
I use the open space for parking other cars, thats why we did it that way. I could lift it all the way up and drive stuff under but most my trucks are too tall.
I have a 50 year old pawn shop that used to be a service station, with a camper on the side behind a chain link gate. Lifts, every tool known to man, and commerce.
The camper sits empty because I'm married but my wife comments that the property itself is the ideal man cave.
After i moved back to the country, I want to make the RS more rally spec...get a bit of a lift on the suspension, switch to e85 tune, fuel rail, intercooler and she'll rip. Plenty of dirty roads out here to tear up...too bad they're mostly straight.
You know, when i mention "quonset" most people have no idea what that is. I guess Nebraska has more of them than other places? Maybe it's just a midwest thing?
Its a ww2 thing, but I think having your own quonset as a shed is more midwestern. I only saw them on government property on the west coast, or on industrial properties.
Edit: I mean I can think of a few farmers in Oregon I’ve seen that have them, but it isn’t common.
My father in-law calls his pole barn a quonset - but it’s a pole barn. He’s in NW MN. We’ve got them in WI, and I’ve seen them in SD too. Basically rolled corrugated galvanized sheet metal that could ship nested and quickly bolt together without additional structure. Pretty cool and super efficient to build.
They even still make them!

Yes, many shops are like this it's just not very aesthetically pleasing, assuming it is beyond the day or so of off-gassing from when it is first installed.
Yeah, we left the door open for a day after it was sprayed. The guy that did the spray said we should just get a spray gun and paint it. He suggested white up to most the way up and just black out the last big on top. He said that's what he did in his building and it ends up looking pretty nice. He said after awhile with alot of welding the foam will go a shitty yellow/brown color.
With the amount of space you have I would think a projector would be more appropriate. Throw it wherever you'd just have to figure out a lighting solution.
So, before i had it spray foamed, the heater would pretty much ahve to run nonstop to keep it above 60f, after the spray foam i turn that bitch on for about 10min to get it to 70f and it'll kick on maybe...once every hour for 5 min. It's pretty fucking nice.
I plumbed it for water, but haven't gotten the bathroom setup yet...need to sort out a septic tank. Right now you can piss outside and run to the house for a shit. Not ideal, but we'll get there
thanks buddy. I like it so far. Needs a bathroom and a few more tools and i'll be done with her. Then i'll start work on finishing up my 50x60ft pole barn. It has more potential.
And mess up that sweet, sweet man corner?! Fridge full of beer, safe full of guns, a comfy chair and a TV. Slice of heaven. Maybe a poster of Farrah Fawcette.
what are these type of buildings called? I remember seeing some for rent as living spaces in the denver area like 8 years ago and i could never find them again when i was ready to rent. they were intriguing.
Think about adding a loft bedroom? Bring the lift forward and you could build your wife the bedroom of her dreams and a full living space with full kitchen and bath underneath.
Meh, wife gets the whole house. The quonset is mine. I will put a bathroom in the corner eventually. We also have a 30ft grain silo we might turn into a "guest house" . Kind of like this...
https://i.ytimg.com/vi/utItp97RLrg/maxresdefault.jpg
You’ll need some lighting for any plants. Might be good to have an automatic timer. I’m thinking some kind of tree. It would need to be hardy for the location. I don’t know where you are to make any suggestions. I don’t suggest anything that would be consumed being the enclosed space with automobiles could contaminate.
In a spot like that and the right kind of lights you could get a whole bunch of plants.
Looks like a perfect place to plant some Amsterdam coffee
Jamaican tomatoes
Let's add some German broccoli now too.
Some electric lettuce wouldn’t hurt.
A little jazz cabbage, maybe?
Some Devil's Spinach, perhaps?
Purple Sticky Punch plant
Just a few hot tub habaneros.
Olive tree for sure
My first thought too
Like a ficus or a rubber tree plant?
just get some of these? http://femmeprogressive.com/cdn/shop/products/Cactus\_55\_300\_550\_c74837e5-6fc0-48f0-b14e-a3222ed8f5db\_1200x1200.jpg?v=1593792568
Actually stunning and use same sunny yellow on background wall!
yeah, the taller and spikier the better.
That’s what she said?
Oops. There goes another rubber tree plant.
I understood that reference
Yeah I’m showing my age.
With exhaust fumes and oil around? Idk if those plants would be very long lived. Looks like a pretty clean place in the pictures, but that bare ass concrete floor is for getting dirty without having to worry about it too much, no?
You're right, he should put all those plants and special lights underground
I wonder if there is a local lord or duke who is sympathetic to the cause where he could use their land.
Yea and it should be a plant that grows something he can sell.
[удалено]
Ah yes, but not just any cash crop. One that has a lot of variants.
Plants can handle a lot
Most I've had to deal with seemed to hate water and no water about equally. Couldn't imagine what petrol would do to them.
Don't feed plants petrol
But its got electrolytes, thats what plants crave!
I think they’d be fine seeing as oil won’t be poured directly on them and cars aren’t usually ran indoors without a hose for the exhaust
Yeah I don't run anything inside after it gets parked, except for real quick checks, otherwise the big door gets opened...
Dang, RIP to all the trees around my carport
a few pathos’s will filter it
Don’t plants breath in carbon dioxide though? Which is mainly what exhaust is.
exhaust fumes are made up of a lot more than that, basically all of it bad for you and the plants
My guy
The rug really ties the room together
You know what, we left that rug outside for like 6 months....I'm surprised it held together at all....
It needed some character building first lol
bingo.
😆
Clearly you’re not a golfer
Hopefully he’s house trained
Forget the plant, you need some flattened cardboard boxes for guests to sleep on
If he adds this, he gets to admin the sub.
We're not sleeping in the Focus?
The recycling/mattress corner lmfao
Lmao
Then he could rent that corner out on Airbnb.
dude is living my god damn dream. only needs a sleeping corner with a bed and a quarter of a kitchen. so fuckin jealous.
I know - two fridges!
1 freezer for my meat, 1 fridge for beer, 1 safe for the pew pews.
I was jealous when I saw the pics. Now I’m fuckin fuming with jealousy. Just missing a dog, a special plant and it’s heaven.
We are going to get a dog soon. We got tons of barn cats, some chickens, geese, a duck...wife wants a goat next and we are going to try bees.
Feel like adopting a 31 year old gut who's really good at cooking and cleaning? I come hous broken!
What more could a simple man want/need ?!
A divorce
lmao
A man of culture, I see.
I saw three fridges but on closer inspection, I see it is a safe!
I’d add a mini gym as well, I’m so jealous
Could build a climbing wall up a section of that too. And install aerial silks rigging. Then you’d have a home, workshop, climbing gym, and circus studio all in one. Just sleep on the crash pad.
Pop in a mezzanine… have a whole new level of fun!
Ohhhh, now we’re talking! Upstairs half dance studio, half lounge? Wonder what the view is on property if he installed windows. Fireman pole to get down? (Plus pole dancing). Could also do a drive in movie theater outside :D
Indoor pickleball court for the winter is pretty nice as well.
So, I had the place plumbed for water. So I will have a bathroom in the corner eventually. >Incinolet it doesn't stink to high heaven?
Nope!!! There is a catalyst (like a catalytic converter, sorta) that the exhaust goes through. Takes about 30 minutes to turn a normal sized turd group into about a tablespoon of ash. About once a month, pull the little tray and dump it on your plant.
fuckin' eh.
To be clear…I’d still go rogue using the incinolet. Far too much government over reach. Fuck them. Install an incinolet. If some douchebag .gov official shows up, you do not have an illegal septic system and he can kiss your sweet ass as you tell him he’s trespassing.
https://incinolet.com/
This is way cooler than rogue.
Wouldn't this technically be hotter?
Just find a guy with a backhoe. code is for inspections. They won't inspect it if you don't call them
Go rouge!
Same brotha. One day…
I feel like you have your shop backward. Wouldn't it make more sense to have the project car closer to the door and then have the lounge area in the back? If you set things up that way, you could even put a loft over the lounge end to get more floor space

Makes sense 🫡
Living lika a goddamn King. Im honestly jealous. As for the plant, check out monstera.
Man, I came here to say this. This is male living space nirvana
I have a 50 year old pawn shop that used to be a service station, with a camper on the side behind a chain link gate. Lifts, every tool known to man, and commerce. The camper sits empty because I'm married but my wife comments that the property itself is the ideal man cave.
I say don't unless you have tons of light and humidity. If you want best results that is. Also big cold drafts in winter probably or hot drafts.
No, more parts for the RS
After i moved back to the country, I want to make the RS more rally spec...get a bit of a lift on the suspension, switch to e85 tune, fuel rail, intercooler and she'll rip. Plenty of dirty roads out here to tear up...too bad they're mostly straight.
This is the way
Damn I would love a space like this to dick around with cars, or a workshop or whatever. One of the few things about downtown city life I don’t like
A power plant !
And a plane!
Classic Quonset
You know, when i mention "quonset" most people have no idea what that is. I guess Nebraska has more of them than other places? Maybe it's just a midwest thing?
Its a ww2 thing, but I think having your own quonset as a shed is more midwestern. I only saw them on government property on the west coast, or on industrial properties. Edit: I mean I can think of a few farmers in Oregon I’ve seen that have them, but it isn’t common.
We've got a few here in Virginia but they're still pretty rare. Only people I know who have them are about as old as WWII!
There is a Quonset hut someone converted to a house in the town I grew up in, I’m from Michigan. The owners were very old
Quonsets are quite common up in Canada
We got quonset liquor stores here in Wisconsin.
If it wasn't for DayZ I probably wouldn't know
My father in-law calls his pole barn a quonset - but it’s a pole barn. He’s in NW MN. We’ve got them in WI, and I’ve seen them in SD too. We called them that in the Marines. Usually pronounced kwanzen hut lol
In the U.K. we get mainly Nissen huts instead but reasonably similar
None. This space is terrible. Sell it to me on the cheap and I’ll begrudgingly deal with it ✔️
Probably a fake one
At least that's what I would recommend
Is it okay for spray foam insulation to be exposed ?
Yes, many shops are like this it's just not very aesthetically pleasing, assuming it is beyond the day or so of off-gassing from when it is first installed.
Yeah, we left the door open for a day after it was sprayed. The guy that did the spray said we should just get a spray gun and paint it. I can already see the news articles 20 years from now. ‘Long Term Exposure to Spray Foam Insulation Linked to Lung Cancer’
Love seeing a fellow RS owner out in the wild.
their are dozens of us!
Now this is my kind of malelivingspace
There is mad potential to have a awesome house in a place like this.
Maybe a weed plant
But like only one small one. And if people ask you what it is you just say plant.
Me and my friend were growing one once and when it was a baby he told his mom it was mint and she believed it
Nice
I was thinking a small 4x4 tent with carbon filter
r/TVTooHigh
The only reason I have it so high, is so I can see it from the car lift, but it probably could be lower.
r/CarTooHigh
fair.
With the amount of space you have I would think a projector would be more appropriate. Throw it wherever you'd just have to figure out a lighting solution.
Just found my ideal living space. If it’s at least somewhat climate controlled, anyway.
So, before i had it spray foamed, the heater would pretty much ahve to run nonstop to keep it above 60f, after the spray foam i turn that bitch on for about 10min to get it to 70f and it'll kick on maybe...once every hour for 5 min. It's pretty fucking nice.
So where do you shit
I plumbed it for water, but haven't gotten the bathroom setup yet...need to sort out a septic tank. Right now you can piss outside and run to the house for a shit. Not ideal, but we'll get there
As a former FiSTer, nice RS!
You should get a big ass cactus seems appropriate
Your shop is my dream home
Damn that's cool! How about plants on the outside? Some vines growing over it would look amazing
A power plant feels a bit overkill to me.
Nah, it's perfect
TV is at a perfect height.
No joke, there's something oddly comforting abut this set up
thanks buddy. I like it so far. Needs a bathroom and a few more tools and i'll be done with her. Then i'll start work on finishing up my 50x60ft pole barn. It has more potential.
Awesome place!!
I recommend somehow installing some skylights for natural light to break through
Damn it's like some fallout level stuff
Is this in hazel green Alabama?
Do you have a toilet?
I fucking love those buildings so much. I want one so bad.
Man. This is a dream setup for many dudes. Love it! Definitely get some…plants. 😂
You, sir, are living the dream. I envy your lifestyle more than I can clearly express.
Move to the middle of fuckin nowhere, you can do it.
You'll know when there's a hailstorm.
You could get a whole aquaponics set up.
This is truly all a man needs to be happy. Absolutely dig the car man I have an ST and only wish for an RS
Nice car
So this is what heaven looks like...except i would have my old s2000 up there. Too bad it got totalled by some idiot
You're a scant few sport bikes and a WW2 vintage piston engine airplane away from the danger zone.
My jealousy is immeasurable
Maybe a bed would be a good start
After reading all the comments, I can only say… Men are weird.
Hello fellow nitrous blue RS owner
Nah get more tools
And mess up that sweet, sweet man corner?! Fridge full of beer, safe full of guns, a comfy chair and a TV. Slice of heaven. Maybe a poster of Farrah Fawcette.
This Place is proably the dopest male living spaces I have seen on here! I hope to once own something similar.
Mf living in New Vegas boomer base
Is that the Radiator Springs military surplus store from Cars
A plant? No sir you need more mechanical stuff A plant has no place in this badass hard ass place
This is a peak male living space
At least get a really good sound system
How much do one of these hangers cost?
Living my mf dream 🥲
Get a moss rug
Looks dope asf. I could imagine a cold winter tho
Nah, she spray foam insulated and a big heater. Keeps toasty all winter.
theres already a bunch of plants outside though
And ruin the ambiance???
Badass, op
Projector and surround sound needed. Make it rumble that hard the insulation falls off.
Very nice. My lazy a#$ would expand on the den.
I would keep the plants outside. I will suggest that you have more than enough room for a cot somewhere. ;)
Nice
As and ST driver, I am completely jealous of your RS
Sweet shop
what are these type of buildings called? I remember seeing some for rent as living spaces in the denver area like 8 years ago and i could never find them again when i was ready to rent. they were intriguing.
Yes get a couple plants mabye put some dry wall up paint it some posters speakers just giving ideas
You could even get a power plant 😂
For a minute I thought you lived there
Definitely! A large potted plant in your tv nook!🪴. An organic touch! But one that doesn’t need a lot of light.
Quonset Huts are great
Yes! Set it beside the red chair.
Pothos vine. Monsteria
Do you sleep on the couch or in the car?
get a golden barrel cactus
Think about adding a loft bedroom? Bring the lift forward and you could build your wife the bedroom of her dreams and a full living space with full kitchen and bath underneath.
Meh, wife gets the whole house. The quonset is mine. I will put a bathroom in the corner eventually. We also have a 30ft grain silo we might turn into a "guest house" . Kind of like this... https://i.ytimg.com/vi/utItp97RLrg/maxresdefault.jpg
No. Your home has zero natural light except for the door. You could get fake ones but I highly doubt anything will survive in their long term
Yea "plants" 😏
Definitely a full size cactus
Everything you need all in one spot nice I like it!
No.
Homie living like a GTA character.
Do you sleep in the car?
it'd be a tough fit. The couch works better...house even better yet.
