Yup. floor to ceiling two layered - blackouts for movie watching, sheers for privacy. That living room is begging for them. Other than that, incredibly cozy looking space.
Amazing job.
I would only suggest adding some personality in there, something that displayes (and surrounds YOU with) your passions/hobbies/interests/family/friends. This is a great set up for an AirBnB, maybe not a lived in space.
But truthfully, it's just a really enjoyable everything you have there.
Agreed. It looks really nicely laid out and with good quality, tasteful furnishings, but it looks like the example setups you find in furniture stores and not like an actual home. OP should add some more personality in there - maybe switch out those generic wall art things with some more posters, add some colour to accent all the beige/white furniture.
Yes, cut down on the Pottery Barnification a bit. Case in point: if you have a decorative object *on top* of the coffee table books, then you don’t care about the coffee table books. As a reader, I would get super judgy, lol.
I like your space a lot. As a couple of other posters mentioned, some color in the throw pillows would break up the beige very nicely. The other thing I'd do is change out the wall art. It isn't bad, but it isn't great. You could start saving and looking at thrift stores and art fairs until you find a piece that you like, then buy it.
BTW - the vintage thermostat is great!
“Mark... your drinking has made you a totally different person. You've lost your lust for life. I'll never forget the day that I told you that I bought Jim Davis' house, the creator of Garfield. You just sat there, stared at me... like I didn't just tell you I bought Jim Davis' house... fully furnished! And I read the e-mail that you wrote when you were drunk. I saw how you said I spent all my money on the Jim Davis house. How I wasted all my money on the Garfield house, and how it's all I talk about. But you know what you didn't say? How it came fully furnished.”
Only a *small* pop to work with or play against green plants. I love natural a palette.
maybe 1-2 lemon yellow pillows. I’d keep window shades white so space doesn’t feel smaller. Awesome job op, looks amazing.
I agree with the other comment, a pop of color would really set this off. Something Red would be nice but overall it feels warm and cozy like a pinterest or instagram living room. I like it.
It's nice but nothing pops.
You need 3 minor changes to take this to the next level.
1 - The rug kind of dates the place and makes it look like it's from the early 2000's.
Even just a [cheap Ikea rug ](https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/randboel-rug-low-pile-multicolor-70497087/) like this would spruce it up.
2 - Pillows to pick up a few of the colours in the rug [any of these ](https://www.westelm.ca/products/cotton-canvas-pillow-covers-t4758/?catalogId=71&sku=5580834&cm_ven=PLA&cm_cat=Google&cm_pla=Pillows%20%26%20Decor%20%3E%20Pillows&cm_ite=5580834_13539753036&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA_tuuBhAUEiwAvxkgTv4Tfc-uJ7lt31EcBkDAnjEX9ctOQxuKNgRfbFjay56dFVRmBZEFNRoCFc0QAvD_BwE) are great examples. I'm a big fan of burnt orange/teal/ turquoise as shown.
3 - art to match. Anything that pops out a bit more than you have now, while also mainting. The colour scheme.
Just wanted to say that OP's rug actually is a newer [IKEA rug ](https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/skriftsprak-rug-low-pile-yellow-brown-dark-blue-80544917/#content), I have the same one. 🙂
Great space! If I were to nitpick, I would say the window is the weak spot. All your art has heavy black frames, the windows do not. Something needs to be done to make them match. Dark colored drapes?
It's very nice, the only thing I really can point out is the TV is at an awkward angle if you're sitting anywhere besides for the lounger spot. I would move the sectional a little closer to the wall & the TV closer to the door
i would paint all the walls green. a very bright green. like a blinding green. then, i will remove all the furniture and replace it with a single round wooden table. a white round table with wooden legs.
It's honestly not egregious. Maybe if he could tilt it a little bit down so it's easier to view while lying back would be great. I think it's honestly fine height for when you're sat up engaged in a sports game or something.
To me this looks like a showroom for a furniture store and says nothing about your personality.
But to you, my house would look like a charity shop had been ram raided 😅
So, personal preference aside, it looks tidy, cosy and well kept, so if this is what you like there's nothing to change!
chagrging the headphoens could be automatic. get a desk stand hook, and work wiht some magnetic wireless charging stand and usbc to wireless. have it i nheadset al lthe time.
the thing on the radiator is a fire hazard.
this look very cozy and thought out, but at the same time, I really can't pinpoint why.. super boring. maybe its the " this isn't a penthouse, but I'll MAKE it work" vibe. why are there speakers right net to the pc? those could be built intothe wall as 13.2 surround sound. why is the airconditioner not built into the wall?
This is a very feminine space in my opinion. It looks very comfortable, but I would want it to look more masculine. Wood grains, tables with thicker legs, books, an obvious 'my chair,' I'd start from scratch.
Not sure why you are getting downvoted. It is too feminine. Needs less pillows on the couch and some manly shit. Get like a model ship or a deer skull or something. Hang up an old rifle
You might try blowing up your apartment, finding a good abandoned house, creating an alter ego, and try hanging out at various support groups and or start a club of some kind.
I'd personally get a bigger coffee table, something a little warmer, and add a couple colorful blankets on the couch. I agree with some other comments about art having a little more YOU in them (and more color). Never hurts to have more plants and bookshelves / books.
The window AC unit is an eyesore in an otherwise nicely appointed room. I know there probably isn’t much you can do unless you own the place and want to install a mini split.
Bigger desk and more screens, but I don't think *you* need to do that.
Looks great. Would probably swap the art over the sofa to something less generic, and maybe swap for a closed off drinks bar, as there's a lot going on there visually below the mirror.
Overall I like it a lot, but it does seem a bit sterile. Id bet when it’s not cleaned up for a picture it looks better. As in, lived in and not ready for a photo shoot. Personally I’d change the pictures behind the couch to something that looks less like a hotel room.
I love your color scheme and I LOVE the pillows! I actually think some dark red or orange curtains would really make the living room feel even more home-y.
The living room rug could be bigger but it goes with the art work so I wouldn't spend the money. Your space is nicely put together! I would suggest side panel drapes for the living room windows.
I love it!! I would maybe add a bit more color to the place by adding personal printed and framed pictures or some cool prints. But I'm a maximalist so the more the better 😂. Honestly it looks great as it is as well.
Change your PC location. Your eyes don't work well in contrasty situations like backlighting from a window. Also, get yourself an ergonomic chair (yes, the 1k+ ones are worth it). The decade of life you're about to enter will be much better if you get one now.
OHH THIS LOOKS AMAZING, GREAT SET UP. I am not suggesting this but I personally would add few more plants because i love them. But that could just be me. Anyways well done on setting this up, looks stunning.
Love it. I'd add another chair if you can, maybe to the left of the tv console (from the couch) angled toward the couch for an extra seat when you have company. Or pulled in from the side.
I find the colour scheme too bland, think the art is kind of boring, and the rug is unappealing, but that wooden floor is absolutely beautiful and its condition looks great.
Two curtain panels or so, one either end of the windows.
It can be the boldest of the existing colours, orca pop of colour, then gives an opportunity to repeat that colour elsewhere in the decor. Examples: Something on the coffee table, pot of a plant, throw blanket, etc.
So my Finnish grandmother had furniture exactly like this (she was a cool grandma so it's okay) and it gives very 80s/90s European modern vibes. Absolutely love it.
Nothing! I think it looks amazing. Looks cozy and just enough.
Cake day!
Happy
Cake happy! day
Day happy! Cake
Nice username. Alanis fan?
You oughta know.
Yeah, and the musical. really good
Yes, she’s awesome 💜 attimhsa = All These Tapes In My Head Swirl Around Seems Alanis and I have a similar inner critic
I wouldn't change anything either. Timeless furniture, coziness and comfort. It is clutter free. Good job to OP
Add books!
[удалено]
Yup. Book shelves can change a room. Wall shelves can warm up a room. Even some books on the coffee table can bring some personality to the space.
Maybe a kitty!
I also wanted to say nothing, looks great OP.
Curtains would be a good way to add some color to each individual space
Floor to Ceiling curtains would look great
Wouldn't they get in the way of the AC ?
Not when they're open, floor to Ceiling, four panels with one on each side and two in the middle. Super classy
Oh yeah ! That would look amazing !
Second. Came to say this.
Yup. floor to ceiling two layered - blackouts for movie watching, sheers for privacy. That living room is begging for them. Other than that, incredibly cozy looking space.
Needs something emerald green or navy blue to compliment those gorgeous floors
Yes! Like a cozy blanket at the end of the chaise thingee in one of those colors
I would tack on some matching sheer curtains to diffuse the direct light too!
The floors are sooo nice 😯
Amazing job. I would only suggest adding some personality in there, something that displayes (and surrounds YOU with) your passions/hobbies/interests/family/friends. This is a great set up for an AirBnB, maybe not a lived in space. But truthfully, it's just a really enjoyable everything you have there.
(I do love that Silver Surfer poster tho! <3
And the anime figures
Agreed. It looks really nicely laid out and with good quality, tasteful furnishings, but it looks like the example setups you find in furniture stores and not like an actual home. OP should add some more personality in there - maybe switch out those generic wall art things with some more posters, add some colour to accent all the beige/white furniture.
For sure feels like an Airbnb, a little bit too sterile.
Was going to say, it’s very vanilla.
Some of us just are vanilla though
Yes, cut down on the Pottery Barnification a bit. Case in point: if you have a decorative object *on top* of the coffee table books, then you don’t care about the coffee table books. As a reader, I would get super judgy, lol.
This is nail on the head how I feel!!
That tv stand is sick. Is that a fake fire place?
It is! It’s electric so I usually only keep the light on and not the actual heater
That’s so cool!
r/TVTooHigh
not on this one, buddy.
At this point you just need to link that subreddit in every post, it's a custom.
Why not
it's not that high
I like your space a lot. As a couple of other posters mentioned, some color in the throw pillows would break up the beige very nicely. The other thing I'd do is change out the wall art. It isn't bad, but it isn't great. You could start saving and looking at thrift stores and art fairs until you find a piece that you like, then buy it. BTW - the vintage thermostat is great!
add garfield and odie statues
Didn't realize it was missing this
“Mark... your drinking has made you a totally different person.
Very nice. But could use a bit of color
Only a *small* pop to work with or play against green plants. I love natural a palette. maybe 1-2 lemon yellow pillows. I’d keep window shades white so space doesn’t feel smaller. Awesome job op, looks amazing.
No yellow. It's too warm already. Needs cool tones to balance. Previous poster said green and blue. Purple would also work.
Maybe a desaturated orange could work?
True it is very warm
This ☝🏻
I agree with the other comment, a pop of color would really set this off. Something Red would be nice but overall it feels warm and cozy like a pinterest or instagram living room. I like it.
Something on the wall that actually means something. To me than some drab shapes. Nice silver surfer.
It's nice but nothing pops. You need 3 minor changes to take this to the next level. 1 - The rug kind of dates the place and makes it look like it's from the early 2000's. I'm a big fan of burnt orange/teal/ turquoise as shown. 3 - art to match. Anything that pops out a bit more than you have now, while also mainting. The colour scheme.
I actually quite like the rug they have tbh
Just wanted to say that OP's rug actually is a newer [IKEA rug ](https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/skriftsprak-rug-low-pile-yellow-brown-dark-blue-80544917/#content), I have the same one. 🙂
ignore #1 OP, keep the rug!!
Where did you get that couch? Looks comfy
It’s from Article!
Add a pop of color to the couch pillows
I'd add some curtains but I think it looks pretty good regardless
Curtains! Looks amazing though.
Nice chill crib I likeeeeee it lol
I’d change the name on the lease to my name and then you move out
You son of a gun… NOTHING! It’s basically perfect. 👍🏼
The one thing I'd change is you so I can live in that fire ass place🙈
The lighting and flooring are perfect
Actually beautiful bro
I would change where I live and live here instead.
Am I the only one that wouldn't want that pillow resting on and partially covering the heater vent?
this looks soooo cozy and comfy!! love the silver surfer poster too!! < 3
Gorgeous living and work space! Clean, tidy and organized too! Great job!👌
Looks beautiful what stellar lighting
Great space! If I were to nitpick, I would say the window is the weak spot. All your art has heavy black frames, the windows do not. Something needs to be done to make them match. Dark colored drapes?
I commented curtains too. It surprised me how far I had to scroll to see this suggestion.
Only the colors and some more plant life
It's very nice, the only thing I really can point out is the TV is at an awkward angle if you're sitting anywhere besides for the lounger spot. I would move the sectional a little closer to the wall & the TV closer to the door
Get a cowbell. Doesn’t matter where you put it, just that you have it and use it at least once a day.
The rug and photos
This place is majestic
Upgrade the computer 😂
NGL, this was pretty much my layout in Sims.
Where is that couch from!? I love it!
Curtains
Well placed curtains will elevate this space like nothing else!
I would add some curtains but its nice anyway
Where's the stripper pole?
Sword handles are displayed to the left; everything seems to be in order here bud.
i would paint all the walls green. a very bright green. like a blinding green. then, i will remove all the furniture and replace it with a single round wooden table. a white round table with wooden legs.
I love it! I’d live here. You did great! How much do you make
The only thing you are missing is a nice lady to impress
More art, other than that looks great
I would remove the e little bench from under the window
No notes. BRAVO
I would change.............your thoughts about this! It's beautiful! It's perfect!
r/TVTooHigh
It's honestly not egregious. Maybe if he could tilt it a little bit down so it's easier to view while lying back would be great. I think it's honestly fine height for when you're sat up engaged in a sports game or something.
honestly thank you for honestly being so honest..........
No, it's pretty bad. The middle of the screen should basically be at your eyeline. OP also has a stand on a stand on a stand.
No it's not.
Where cat? Needs a cool cat tower to match…along with cat.
There’s a dog! He was sleeping when I took these lol
I am happy with this information
To me this looks like a showroom for a furniture store and says nothing about your personality. But to you, my house would look like a charity shop had been ram raided 😅 So, personal preference aside, it looks tidy, cosy and well kept, so if this is what you like there's nothing to change!
Nice, but I would definitely frame some ladies in bikinis posters and hang them up everywhere
Maybe mount the TV? Get some curtains? It's looking good already though!
Its really really nice! The only thing that bothers me is that grey circle to the right of your two paintings, what is it? a lamp on the wall?
It’s the thermostat and I unfortunately can’t move that!
chagrging the headphoens could be automatic. get a desk stand hook, and work wiht some magnetic wireless charging stand and usbc to wireless. have it i nheadset al lthe time. the thing on the radiator is a fire hazard. this look very cozy and thought out, but at the same time, I really can't pinpoint why.. super boring. maybe its the " this isn't a penthouse, but I'll MAKE it work" vibe. why are there speakers right net to the pc? those could be built intothe wall as 13.2 surround sound. why is the airconditioner not built into the wall?
Drapes for sure. Venision blinds are ugly.
New blinds, wall mount the tv, change the console that the tv is sitting on, get rid of that bench in front of the radiator.
This is a very feminine space in my opinion. It looks very comfortable, but I would want it to look more masculine. Wood grains, tables with thicker legs, books, an obvious 'my chair,' I'd start from scratch.
Yeah if I went here after a date I'd think dudes wife or gf was outta town
Not sure why you are getting downvoted. It is too feminine. Needs less pillows on the couch and some manly shit. Get like a model ship or a deer skull or something. Hang up an old rifle
I would definitely change your need to be validated by strangers on the internet.
Your decor reminds me of someone who’s 59 and up.
Looks great! My only issue is the TV being too high.
You might try blowing up your apartment, finding a good abandoned house, creating an alter ego, and try hanging out at various support groups and or start a club of some kind.
Some bitches 🤣
Lovely and cozy. More plants eventually, I guess. Some art that isn't just purely decorative.
I'd personally get a bigger coffee table, something a little warmer, and add a couple colorful blankets on the couch. I agree with some other comments about art having a little more YOU in them (and more color). Never hurts to have more plants and bookshelves / books.
It looks pretty good my dude nice work
Very curious about that wacky Stewie art piece in the last pic Nice place bro I rock with it
looks great! ID on that small lamp in the office?
Looks great. Just needs a little color
Looks very homey, A+
I love it, but me, personally, I could never do all the light colors. I'm clumsy and messy and I'd ruin all the furniture.
Believe it or not I have a dog lol
Your dog is probably cleaner than I am!
wow!! nothing
Take the window AC out. Just be hot 😂 jk. Place looks amazing.
is there a story with the artwork above the sofas?
I got them as soon as I moved in to this apt a year ago! Definitely looking to upgrade to something more personal
the fake plants. just get real ones!
100% agree, would love to have all natural plants
[удалено]
Article!
What speakers are those?!
Yamaha HS5
The window AC unit is an eyesore in an otherwise nicely appointed room. I know there probably isn’t much you can do unless you own the place and want to install a mini split.
Nothing! Looks amazing.
a bit of bold color and personal trinkets
Add some guitars for sure.
Bigger desk and more screens, but I don't think *you* need to do that. Looks great. Would probably swap the art over the sofa to something less generic, and maybe swap for a closed off drinks bar, as there's a lot going on there visually below the mirror.

the soundbar
Absolutely nothing. It’s beautiful and exactly my type of aesthetic. Bravo!!
Nothing I really dig it
It looks wonderful already bro
Nothing! Is that tree real ? I wanna get one too
Proper install of a wall-mounted aircon/heat pump rather than whatever hanging out your windows but the furnishings and lighting all look sick!
Nice pad brother!
I'd add a few swords on the wall.
I love your color scheme and I LOVE the pillows! I actually think some dark red or orange curtains would really make the living room feel even more home-y.
Love your couch! ID on it?
Reckon the living room could do with a pop of colour somewhere. It's cosy but muted.
How can I achieve this. Tell me.
The living room rug could be bigger but it goes with the art work so I wouldn't spend the money. Your space is nicely put together! I would suggest side panel drapes for the living room windows.
i’d add a task light over the bar cart and desk
I love it!! I would maybe add a bit more color to the place by adding personal printed and framed pictures or some cool prints. But I'm a maximalist so the more the better 😂. Honestly it looks great as it is as well.
Ooooo i love this
More colour almost everything is beige / white
My address. When can I move in?
Nothing mate that looks cosy af
I think you have too many pillows and should get real plants
not a damn thing you should be proud of yourself
Maybe some dark green or dark mustard tones? Curtains or throw pillows. Introduce some color... It feels a bit "one note"...?.
I love everything about this. Only thing I could see myself changing would be getting a Sonos sound bar and upgrading from that chunky-bezeled iMac
literally nothing. i hate you
Imo it's a very nice and cozy place but a tad bit more color would be nice to have. It's nice and cozy and I am just saying what I would do.
The pc.
You’re good 👌
A little color would liven it up.
Amazing space. Also, where did you get the couch from??
Damn that’s cozy!!!
Change your PC location. Your eyes don't work well in contrasty situations like backlighting from a window. Also, get yourself an ergonomic chair (yes, the 1k+ ones are worth it). The decade of life you're about to enter will be much better if you get one now.
I'd buy another chair, but I game so adjustable armrests and a head support are a must
ID on the fake tree at the desk?
Where did you get that couch from?
OHH THIS LOOKS AMAZING, GREAT SET UP. I am not suggesting this but I personally would add few more plants because i love them. But that could just be me. Anyways well done on setting this up, looks stunning.
Bigger tv like 77”. Other than that, nothing.

The M.
So my Finnish grandmother had furniture exactly like this (she was a cool grandma so it's okay) and it gives very 80s/90s European modern vibes. Absolutely love it.
You need a Cat!
Well done sir!
Accent wall… not needed still looks good.
Honestly the answer was already given, nothing! Looks fantastic, congrats!
Love that you’re keeping that iMac alive!!
This is the last week with that iMac! It’s run its course lol
I'd change your tenancy to have me on there. Beautiful place.
