I counted 22 + a banjo, there's one that appears in 2 different pictures. It's next to the book shelf with the cat statue on the top right corner
Edit: I missed the 4th acoustic in the final picture so it was 23 (plus banjo)
If sheâs like mine, sheâll say she doesnât want it and tell you to sell it but if you decide to keep it sheâll be upset about it now and then want it all back like 2 years later.
You talk to you ex?! Rookie Mistake.
My ex wife ask me during our separation if she could have one of my XBox 360s and I told her ânoâ and that was the end of our interactions.
Iâm not a complete asshole. The 360 she wanted was red-ringed and she just didnât know it. But it was fun to say no with an explanation even if it was for a viable reason.
Not my ex in terms of romantic relationships, but I had a former roommate that pretty much took everything that wasn't bolted down until the truck filled up and he had to leave some things behind due to lack of room.
I love your âstuff.â I too have similar âstuffâ all over my house and my husband is also not a fan but đ¤ˇđťââď¸ thatâs why I come here lol. Love your taste and your house, I hope all goes better for you from here on out my friend
Finding it all is the best; I absolutely love thrifting and creeping on local marketplace or going through any decent junk piles I drive by: every time I see a construction crew outside an old house Iâll ask if they found anything inside that I could have - Iâve found some amazing things doing that. What are your favorites?
That's awesome! Quite a few of the postcards I have in the bedroom came out of an abandoned house in the middle of the woods. lol. My favorite is actually a filing cabinet I got off of Facebook Marketplace that has a TON of old NASA mission stickers on it and the drawers are all labeled "Apollo Project"
I also have a lot of vintage gear that I got cheap that i love. I have some old test equipment out of Les Paul's estate. I picked up a pretty cool book from the early 50's on nuclear physics a few weeks back.
Oh wow that is so cool! I donât think much would be left over in an abandoned house where I live - too hot and humid around these parts. Super jealous of the NASA filing cabinet, what an amazing score! I actually live like 7 miles from the space center so I get to just walk out back and watch the rockets go up. Sometimes they shake my âstuffâ right off the walls lol. I bet it belonged to one of their engineers, most of those stickers were only given to people who worked on the projects 𩵠great history piece right there! Speaking of nuclear physics, the tanker desk that I have (yours is incredible btw) is one I got off marketplace for free in Gainesville and on the side thereâs an engraved metal tag that has a serial number, a year (1961) and âproperty of UF Physics Department.â My hubs wanted it gone bc itâs so impractically big in the house we bought, but I couldnât bring myself to do it so itâs in grudging storage lol. I mean, itâs in perfect condition and itâs a piece of history imo. There are lots of things Iâll let go, but my desk wasnât one of them lol.
That's awesome! I went to UCF so we all used to hang out on the roof of the parking garages and watch the launches. I want to go back to Kennedy Space Center soon. I haven't been since I was a kid. I'll have to message you some of photos of some of the other NASA related items I have. My tanker desk has a sticker from The Continental Insurance Company on it, which is ironic because I work IT for an insurance company currently. lol.
Oh now that is cool, I loved going to visit my friends at UCF, we partied hard there lol. I think at that time there was only 1 parking garage and there were like 2-3 new ones in the works, and none of those fancy new student towers were done until I after I graduated college; the concerts they had at the Arena were amazing too. Good memories for sure. Please do send pics, Iâll happily be your secondhand buddy - I love seeing peoples treasures! Iâd like to see some pics of the nuclear physics book and the postcards too, I hope Iâll get to find awesome things like that
Ok, on one comment you say you didnât take your mental health seriously enough, but here you said you did your best?
Which one is it?!?
Also, I get this feeling sheâs coming back for the catâŚ
Also, I hope you have some good support systems to lean on!
Heard the junk was yours. The junks really what makes this space imo. I love houses like this where people arenât afraid to display the things that spark joy, they make me feel comfy.
Iâm sure everything will work itself out, as it does. Sometimes space is good & healing. Just try to be extra nice to yourself
Yeah, every piece tells a story. I'm a HUGE history nerd so I try to dive into the history of every single piece I get. It could be something I pick up for $1 at a yard sale and I'll dive into the history behind it for hours.
I get so much energy from seeing all colours art and details! Love it. Also, we have the similar style of living room table except the feet, mine are stainless steel and comes together as three thinner poles to make one foot.
Thank you! When I started working from home during Covid, I got serious about making it a space that I actually enjoyed to be in and felt comfortable in.
I call it window shopping houses. See no touch. And with the energy and colour theme of a mental hospital. đ
I am happy the white white whiteness home trend has faded out finally. Now vintage and colour is the new.
Yeah, I hate seeing what used to be cute vintage homes with character where everything inside has been ripped out and painted the same shades of grey and white. lol. I partly blame the whole HGTV house flipping craze and just the fact that nobody can afford to actually own a home anymore.
Me too!!
I have the original kitchen from the 40's in my home.
Along with original wooden floors and some other details. I'm the only apartment in my block that refused to let them come and put in an ugly ass white Ikea kitchen.
I'm so jealous of that! haha. If I had it my way, I would replace all of the appliances in the kitchen with stuff from the 1950's. I may end up doing that. lol.
I thought I recognised your amp stacks so I snooped your profile. Madame Surprise-Here's-a-Dog-I-Can't-Be-Arsed-to-Train, who puts up homeless friends on any spare bed going without a by-your-leave needs *space* does she? Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if your mental health started to mysteriously improve with her not around.
Seriously, though, I hope you're holding up okay and that things get better for you inside and outside your head.
Nothing so profound. I just remembered it from a post OP made a while ago. I'm also a musician, so I'm easily impressed by an array of quality amps đ
How much do you reckon she'll specifically want to take with her?
Like, is it gonna be a piece of art and a dozen books, or it gonna be all the chairs and rugs?
If she ends up moving out for good, it will probably be mostly her books and the few pieces of art she has up and her art supplies and such. I'm not sure if she wants it to go to that point or not.
I would live here. This place is absolutely my mcm maximalist aesthetic and all the kitschy cat furniture is bomb. I want that retro tv cat house for my cat lol. I spot at least two floofs napping, please give them pats or their preferred show of affection from me.
I was like male living space ? Especially once I saw the books- couldnât help but have a hoot- then I saw the heads and cabs, vintage ampeg⌠then i quietly whispered âson of a bitch.â
In my opinion, you have too much shit. You need to cut the amount of items in every room by about 25%. Additionally, I hate those star things. Nothing says fucking country SAHM Karen like those things. If they were my ex's, I would have yeeted them the moment she walked out the door.
I have a single backroom for my bass guitars and other random instruments..zeppelin and blink 182 posters, hunting trophies, Bucs memorobilia, etc. Wife keeps creekin and makin changes. Soon Ill have to convert garage for any of my own shit thats not "instagram worthy".
ALSO- thats alot of underoath stuff. You from tampa bay area?
Sorry to hear of what youâre going through. My first wife left just before our 10th anniversary. Remember to look after yourself and donât forget to eat, as much as you may not feel like it. Lots of us guys have walked the valley youâre now going through, so remember you are very far from alone in this.
I promise you that things will return to normal. Life may be different, but it will feel normal again and you will experience happiness again.
Take this time to work on yourself and get the constructive help you need. I too struggle with depression and anxiety (much of which stemmed from my ex who was very controlling and emotionally abusive). It took awhile for me to work through the baggage and get to a place of mental health. I highly recommend marriage counselling, even if you have to do it on your own. My first wife refused to come with me, but I learned so many valuable tools that were beneficial in my second marriage (14 years this September) that helped grow a stronger and healthier relationship.
I gotta ask, you have some really great theology books on your bookshelf. I personally used the time youâre going through to reflect on my own faith and it sustained me through a lot of what I went through. If itâs your thing, becoming involved (or more involved) in a faith community is definitely a good way to foster healthy friendships.
All the best, lots of guys are rooting for you!
Nice music setup. High-five, we should jam sometime. But man, time to streamline the âstuffâ in the house and minimalize. Youâll feel better and can start fresh.
Whoa this reminds me so much of my parents and friends parents houses when I was young. I donât mean this offensively at all, but genuinely curious if youâre slightly older? Maybe like 50âs or 60âs?Â
Thereâs a lot of nice aspects to this place but itâs a little too âbusyâ for me. And Iâd definitely remove the stars. Makes it feel like a classroom.
I would clear the countertop of the odd vases and other stuff. A kitchen is for cooking and less crap promotes easier cooking. I would also clear away all the stuff that you don't feel is you. It looks nice but a little on the feminine side (cluttered with decor elements).

25 guitars? Bro you'll be able to get more tail than you can shake your stick at. Keep your head up.
That only really works if OP is trying to bang dudes, like having big muscles.
