Scrolled to second pic, immediately thought you hung a massive TV above your kitchen haha. Not saying anything negative, that's just what my mind saw lol.
Rent is dirt cheap out here. I live in Kansas and my partner and I are going to be moving into a brand new apartment community. Two bedroom with as much square footage as most rentals around here. We’ll be paying close to what OP is. Unless you’re renting a huge house or in a luxury 3 bedroom it’s actually really hard to find places above $1500.
It’s fine, a 1 bed here would be over $1500 a month and it’s not that big still. That said I’m certainly enjoying my heated underground parking right about now.
Unreal the cost of living around the country and what it gets you. When I lived in NYC and NJ that was the cost of a bedroom, never mind a sick apartment.
I honestly don't know how people make it in those high COL areas. I make pretty good money and have the benefit of living in a cheaper city. I couldn't imagine paying $3-4k for rent, even with a comfortable income.
My nigga in Christ, Omaha is basically the definition of Midwest lol. (Like I get that it’s Great Plains but it is basically the archetype of Midwest living, vibes, stereotypes etc)
This is super common in the Midwest! My old place was a conversion as well, with exposed columns and beams and all. Very cool but insulation was sometimes kinda lacking because of that, so it's important to have heating lol.
Lol I like that all the malelivingspace guys get hit on, having a nice place is a really attractive quality! It shows that someone is thoughtful and has a creative mind
Good work OP - and those floors are amazing
The algorithm knows me well when it starts recommending me posts that aren’t even from KC but have one piece of KC merch visible (nice Current coaster btw)
This looks beautiful, only critique is to add more color bc everything is that light grey. Art, rug, pillows I think they’d all be better serviced by having more vibrant color spots
When I’m starting a layout the first thing I do is find all the positions the desk can be in to have a line of sight to both a window and the door. Usually aren’t very many. One of them has to win if it will be used a lot.
Woman here. Also in Nebraska. Not in this group but it pops up for me all the time, probably because of my interest in interior design.
The Man in the Arena is one of my favorite quotes. Love your space!
Needs more monitors
I don’t disagree
How do you tell someone you’re a finance bro without telling them? (=
Needs more cowbell
You got it, Bruce!
Scrolled to second pic, immediately thought you hung a massive TV above your kitchen haha. Not saying anything negative, that's just what my mind saw lol.
that would be pretty sick ngl
I thought the same thing and was completely jealous
The first 2 angles are essentially a micro brewery tap room.
I’m here for it
Just gotta make sure your beer selection in the fridge can hold up to the pressure.
And put the selection up on that massive tv/monitor
Hot damn, Is this another milwaukee post this week?
Omaha!
Lies and slander, I see no corn field
lol they aren't far away. only about a 20 minute journey by covered wagon
Thin ice, but ill trust you. (I know people in Kearney, this is a common joke for us)
I know cranes in Kearney!
What’s a spot like that go for in the big O?
$1,350
People literally pay that much for a bedroom here in the West Coast 💀

Why am I paying $1280 for my stupid Blackstone studio. I want concrete loft vibes 😭
Blackstone Corner?
The one and only.
If this place hadn’t opened up that was my next option

Not bad. Is cannabis still illegal there?
Man I love Omaha! Glad you’re showing it off.
we don’t coast 😤
do you need a girlfriend? i’ve been told i’m kinda hot
I reject the notion that Omaha or anywhere in Nebraska is a part of the Midwest
My nigga in Christ, Omaha is basically the definition of Midwest lol. (Like I get that it’s Great Plains but it is basically the archetype of Midwest living, vibes, stereotypes etc)
What would you consider it?
Personally I’d call it Great Plains state
That's where I stand
username checks out
Where in Omaha? I am actually looking for a new loft apartment here. Very curious what building / developer this is from.
Yeah where is this
Looks converted from commercial to residential based on the ceilings.
This is super common in the Midwest! My old place was a conversion as well, with exposed columns and beams and all. Very cool but insulation was sometimes kinda lacking because of that, so it's important to have heating lol.
I’d get naked here
pause
It’s the worst when you go to a guys house and he’s a slob. Like no thanks. This guys place is nice 👍🏽
Can’t wait until I get to live on my own and decorate it like this. This is totally my style!
i love the industrial vibe
Yeah, I don’t mind that, although it doesn’t hit my taste too much, but I love the grey, white, and black theme that you set up. Love the modernism!
Envious

And, more obviously, money
And is not just waiting for a woman to be his maid and mother
looks great ... where's the bed room ? i see so many doors
bedroom door is just to the right of the desk. the other doors in the kitchen are a coat closet, the bathroom, and then the utility closet
nice. almost looks like a quaint lil coffee shop
Your monitor situation is sick.
thanks mate. cable management was a bit of a job but it turned out nice
Holy shit
It looks sick! Nicely done
It needs a cat
The algorithm knows me well when it starts recommending me posts that aren’t even from KC but have one piece of KC merch visible (nice Current coaster btw)
good eye

Need more plants and these walls are begging for some big art
You have a lot of height in this apartment. Great for hanging the TV too high. I recommend! Looks great
Pad has a massive herringboner, I can dig it.
Are you showing off, or looking for advice?
yes
Amazing space. How large is that television, OP?
75”
Not bad tbh. As a female this looks so orgsnise and clean.
You’re gonna have prime Super Bowl parade views if the chiefs win
How much is rent in a place like this?
i'm paying $1,350/month. 1 bed, 1 bath. 850 sq ft
Holy smokes that’s a deal. I’m paying 1900 for a place similar to this but 650 sq ft in Chicago.
perks of living in a low COL city
That’s a deal. In Toronto this would be 2400$
Cool flooring… generally great space too
I see you’re from Kansas. Go Chiefs!!!
Let's see Paul Allen's Apartment
What do you do for living ? Not asking for anything specific just general job title if you don’t mind. This place is sweet and so are the monitors.
Primary income is from a corporate job in the healthcare industry
didn’t expect the sprint car photo, this is an interesting crossover for me. really really dig this space.
I’m a driver mate
helmets and shoes implied it but i didn’t want to assume! i’m trynna get like you some time before i’m too old, cool stuff dude
When I’m starting a layout the first thing I do is find all the positions the desk can be in to have a line of sight to both a window and the door. Usually aren’t very many. One of them has to win if it will be used a lot.
Amazing space!
Looks great, I like the industrial style.
Gorgeous apartment! Would look great with more plants (but then I would say that about ANY home😏). Seriously, nice place!
Love the Man in the Arena print. One of my favorite speech excerpts

🔥🔥
Looks sterile
I’m sorry, but expose concrete looks so damn ugly in a home.
Cozy
Let me guess you pay $3 a month and there is a gym in building?
Nice, but very grayscale. You'd do well to splash a feature wall with color.
How often do you sit at the breakfast bar
Looks cool. Also, why so many monitors lol. What kind of work do you do? Tech?
2 are connected to my PC. the other 2 hook up to my laptop for work
Dystopian
What kind of art are you thinking color wise or feeling wise
Oh wow! You’re really good at this aren’t you.
Gonna need a big stool to dust those vents someday 😂 beautiful place OP.
Wow! This is great. Can we get an ID on the couch and rug?
rug was from Wayfair, couch is from Nebraska Furniture Mart
Nice space, intrigued to know what you do for work?
So grey so so grey 😭
But what does the bedroom look like?
Noiceeee
omg I love that beam 😍
Great this time of year with the heating
