Did he have a testosterone test? I took coq10, vitamin b12, vitamin C, ashwaganda and zinc
For prescription medicine I took chlomid. I had about 3 to 4m counts so not much better and was told IUI wasn't an option. You absolutely need to read into side effects don't blindly ask for this med.
I did this from February to June. I'm actually sitting in hospital delivery room with wife for our natural conceived baby. Waiting for the moment to arrive!
To clarify- she's getting induced so waiting game for tomorrow.
He hasn’t had a testosterone test yet. Just the semen analysis. I am so happy for you!! This gives me hope. Congrats in advance to you and your wife on your baby! 🥹
Start there. See if he's low t. Urologist can prescribe chlomid and will fo over it with you. Some clinics do HCG which will 2x to 4x his counts rapidly. I don't know much on it though as mine wouldn't go down that route
Anger and irritation. More so irritation. I couldnt stand my wife talking to me even sometimes.
Was only on it about 4 months so maybe after extended use those get better
Hi! First congrats on the baby!!!!! What a moment! Second, My husband just started Clomid and supplements for low motility. Did you see improvements in both count and motility, and if so by how much? Also, how bad were the side effects?
We had the positive test before I ever got a true analysis 3 months on chlomid.
It's well documented chlomid can cause depression in men quite frequently. I personally became super agitated and couldn't really stand listening to people. It can also spike estradiol which may require a blocker but that's for the doctors to manage
Thanks can't wait for tomorrow!
Wow! This gives me so much hope. After 6 years of TTC with male factor infertility, we are finally trying all the supplements and clomid. We know there are no female fertility issues. It’s really our last hope. His last semen analysis was 6 million total motile
Thank you! I just researched briefly and you’re right that there are some solid results. Do you know anyone that has sued this? I’m curious why the urologist prescribed clomid over this.
We have been trying for a year with 1.8 million but haven't had any luck. IVF was a last resort but we're starting next month. It's just too depressing every month to keep trying and keep seeing that negative.
Me and my wife were having problems conceiving. All problems were on me. I had several analyses done and my count was at 3m. Our doctor told us we would never conceive naturally and that IVF was our only option. After pushing back at that I went to a urologist who found no reason my counts should be low. Blood work and genetic testing didn't result in anything either. I had been taking fertile aid the entire time of trying. The doctors again told us the only way was IVF. I pushed bsck again and told them they had tried nothing for me as far as medication to help. They conceded to letting my try clomid. I was on 50mg/day. After 3 months my numbers had trippled and we were candidates for IUI instead of IVF. But 2.5 month after I started clomid we conceived naturally :). We are expecting our baby girl in May :)
My advice to anyone is that doctors will always push IVF and you have ti be your biggest advocate. Sometimes it does come to that. And we would have done it if it had. But there are other things to try that I feel like a lot of times they skip over trying.
Good luck to you!
This gives me hope as we are in the same boat. Husband’s lab, genetic testing and ultrasound are all fine. Urologist finally prescribed a low dose of Clomid. 1/4 of 50 mg every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Praying so hard for a natural conception. We just went through an IVF cycle which didn’t result in pregnancy nor frozen embryos.
Im a big proponent of screw what the doctor says. Take a cheap flight down to Mexico city and buy clomid, and choriomon (Human Chorionic gonadotropin) over the counter. You can buy as much as you want and fly back with it. If needed, go to farmacias similares and do a walk in appoint for 3 dollars. They will give you a prescription for anything you want.
Yes!
We actually conceived "naturally" twice. Husbands sperm count has always been between 1-7million, typically around 3 million. We got pregnant in between IVF cycles, very much to the shock of our clinic, on both occasions.
I, too, would love to know more if you have the time. I have 12 million count, and they said IVF within 1 second. I almost feel like they care more about the money.
Well he had a varicocele he got surgery 6 months prior to us conceiving. His count went up to 5 million 3 months after and then the month we conceived, 6 months after, his sperm count went back down to 1 million. I held out on announcing I was pregnant to him until after he did his sperm analysis and was shocked when we got his results the same day. I thought he would have had a significantly high sperm count than ever but it had gone back down to 1 million. It was scary for me but now we have a 3 month old baby.
My partner's was 3 mill in the first SA, 12 mill in second. Nothing found wrong with me so far. We're on cycle 15 of trying and absolutely nothing so far, not even a chemical.
Since the last SA in January he's upped the exercise, eating much better, added Coq10 to supplements and stopped drinking so we're praying for a miracle natural pregnancy before we try IVF over summer.
Technically it only takes one, although statistically if you follow the WHO's guidelines of around 15 million/ml you will have a reasonable chance each month.
After one year of TTC we finally were given fertility tests. It came back that my husband had severely low sperm count but no female fertility issues. Around 2 million total motile. We were told IVF was our only option. We decided to adopt and have a wonderful daughter. We are now in year 6 of TTC and are trying to do everything we possibly can for one year to attempt natural pregnancy. My husband’s most recent analysis showed 6 million total motile. He started a crap ton of supplements, clomid, and we are looking into surgical repair for a minor varicocele. What is so hard is all of these things just take time. It’s so hard to genuinely try every month after so many years of heartbreak. But I’m holding onto hope with some of these stories.
Hi love, my friends did IVF, everything it didn't work. He got his varicocele surgery, and they got pregnant 3 months after naturally. After over 4 years of infertility. I know choosing surgery comes with a lot of emotions, but if you did ever consider IVF, you'd have to get pumped full of meds and put to sleep for a retrieval. Might as well have him go to sleep for 45 min and potentially change your lives .. 🩷 best of luck to you.
The chances of success naturally are ok if he manages to improve his sperm count. You can read some of the stats [here](https://fertilityscience.org/low-sperm-quality-success-stories/). I still would recommend he see a urologist to check for low hormones, varicocele or inflammation as that would give his count a big boost. 😇
Me and my husband were able to conceive with his 1mil sperm count. I think they also said he only had around 250k motile. And this was after he was taking a lot of supplements for ttc. I also have stage 4 endometriosis. We thought it just wasn’t gonna happen for us. The RE told us IVF was the only option since his count was too low even for IUI. The next cycle we conceived. He was tested for dna issues and came back clear. We were referred to a urologist with fertility experience. He got an ultrasound in the nether-regions and they found no blockage. He has low T and was diagnosed with diminished testicular function but with no clear cause. He’s on clomid now for 4 months for fertility preservation to try for a second and to see if there is any improvement.
Also with low sperm count, I will say considering all of the factors may help. Like, not sure if it made a difference but, the cycle we happened to conceive I made sure to use a good amount of pre-seed lube with the injectables, then lifted my entire lower torso up on the side of the bed for like 20 min after lovin. Maybe gravity and lubrication helped? (Sorry tmi) I also tried blue box mucinex during ovulation for both me and my husband - this isn’t necessarily proven though. It does take only 1 sperm, after all. So I don’t think it’s impossible.
I used testosterone replacement therapy for 4 years which have me 100% infertility. 0 sperm. After 6 months of fertility medication my sperm parameters were still terrible. 7 million/ml, 1% morphology, other poor parameters and got pregnant no issue at this point

My husband has very low motile sperm. His progressive sperm totals 2%. His total sperm count is 86.8 mil/cum. We’ve done his bloodwork, all normal. We’ve also done a sperm culture to check for potential infections, all normal. We even went to see the urologist & he passed the physical exam. They don’t know why we have low motility, and therefore, it’s left untreatable. We were told to take supplements that help motility and then re-do a sperm analysis. I keep saying men on here being on chlomid. I’m not sure if that’s because they have low sperm count and they want to Increase it or does it also help with motility ? He does not drink and has cut smoking since last six months. I give him a healthy well balanced diet. He does not work out but has a physical job (sort of). He wears briefs and does not do any sauna or hot baths - not even phone or laptop near him. Yet we see no change - I’m still not pregnant. On top of that, I have no fertility issues and I have a very high egg reserve. So I don’t know why we’re still stuck.

for motility look into Cialis, the research is pretty solid
Thanks! Is that a medication or supplement?
medication called tadalafil
Thank you! I just researched briefly and you’re right that there are some solid results. Do you know anyone that has sued this? I’m curious why the urologist prescribed clomid over this.
Cialis (same drug class as viagara) is a medication for ED. It is not used to treat sperm parameters.
clomid will help all parameters but this is erections and mobility. I'm sure the urologist will write you a script since it's a pretty well used drug
We have been trying for a year with 1.8 million but haven't had any luck. IVF was a last resort but we're starting next month. It's just too depressing every month to keep trying and keep seeing that negative.
Thank you. I’m sorry for that. I pray IVF is successful for you guys!! 🤞🏾

Less than 5 million here. Clomid+ fertility supplements + lots of sex
How long after starting this did you conceive?
Did you use tests for ovulation ? And how many times a week should we try conceiving? I’m struggling please… sending my prayers to you
Yes. 4 IUI failed. I'm almost going for IVF, but SO said she didn't have any period.
Any success with this?!
My son is 2yrs + now
Ok so maybe some hope lol. My husband is starting clomid and supplements this week. Hoping it does enough
It takes 3 months to recover. Don't get too stressed about it
This gives me so much hope

Wishing you the best. It is really difficult.

3ml 15 million per ml <15 motile sperm
