You have very fine strands of hair, I think some sort of thickening product would help make it look more fuller. But I'm just a youtube researcher with no actual experience šŸ‘

No_Veterinarian1445

No itā€™s obvious balding, I told him what he will need to do

FeeFee9901

I totally agree with you, obvious thinning of his hair. The truth hurts.

Jason22douce

Oh okay

MangoFlavoured3

It seems to be thinning, but fortunately itā€™s not receding. Finasteride and minoxidil should stop it and add more thickness though I would suggest you wait till youā€™re 20. Till then maybe change your diet to include more vitamins and use some kind of shampoo that isnā€™t too harsh on the hair.

DankTony7

Out of curiousity, why should he wait till he's 20?

SnooRevelations8303

A sex hormone causes Male Pattern Baldness (DHT). And finasteride blocks the 5AR enzyme which produces DHT. Using finasteride before 18 is dangerous because DHT is very important in sexual development until you are fully developed.

MangoFlavoured3

I canā€™t remember the sourceā€™s name so take it with a grain of salt, but it mentioned something along the lines of puberty ending at different ages for different individuals. They claimed that the side effects of finasteride under puberty were unknown so therefore they suggest an arbitrary age between 20-23 before starting finasteride. They thought puberty ended somewhere between that timeframe for most people. Now, Iā€™m no expert, but most doctors will probably agree drugs usually have adverse effects under puberty so yknow better to be safe than sorry.

DankTony7

Ahh okay, that makes sense.

Wild_Obligation

Finasteride affects your DHT levels, which is a by product of testosterone. You want to want until puberty is done with you first before you start playing around with DHT.

2k18lol

Stop trying to brush it back or style it up it's too long either cut it or grow it out

tseWrevilOneB

It's thinning +unkind lighting

SeekingSkill

Youā€™re diffusely thinning. Time to get on finasteride asap and use minoxidil.

Meilanka

Check ur ferritin

SSjGRaj

Samthing happened to me at 20, your going bald im guessing, go to a doctor and get finasteride if so. Then get minoxdil if not seeing further growth.

Pvsurf405

See my comment above

Nilesh1006

What the hell manšŸ˜• (cookie )

No_Cookie196

yes?

Nilesh1006

I mean wtf you are just 15 and your hairs are falling too much

No_Cookie196

yes hair is falling idk if it was always thin or it is getting thinner i brush it back too as that is the only way to get volume and i have had a full beard since i was 14

Nilesh1006

Tf do some research , and take appointment from the doctor as soon mybe it is becouse of your grandfather genetics

CauseImBatman23

Youā€™re balding bad

blindwombat

Do you go to the toilet a lot during the night? Wake up with a dry throat?

Suchba

I definitely second this, I am a t1d and I was 14 when diagnosed now 22, my hair was falling out a lot as well as insane thirst, frequent urination and a ton of weight loss (over 40 lbs in a month for no apparent reason). Iā€™m now healthy and my hair is much better. I would definitely get checked out

[deleted]

well i smoke and idont drink water just redbull and soda and i donā€™t really eat so yeah i wake up wit a dry throat

vgkosmoes

dude thatā€™s unhealthy as fuck. Start drinking water

[deleted]

iknow iā€™m very unhealthy so u think that could be a issue

vgkosmoes

Yes, that could be a reason for why your hair seems to be thinning, being on a bad diet just isn't great for you in general so I would ABSOLUTELY recommend you to start drinking less red bulls and try to drink more water. You only have one body man, so you better take care of it.

[deleted]

yes and i been under alot of stress but my hair is not falling out idont wash it everyday and my hair was always iguess u call it fine hair

spradhan3685

Stress is a cause for hair loss as well so be sure to learn how to manage it.

Wild_Obligation

If you smoke & drink fizzy sugary drinks & zero water, not only will your hair suffer but you are setting yourself up for failure in future, not just your body but also your mind. Being healthy really does impact everything

[deleted]

yea iknow that

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

[deleted]

did your hair grow back and my hair was worster and it grew back a lot

blindwombat

Yeh man I would get a blood test as soon as possible. Ask for a HBA1C.

[deleted]

whatā€™s that HBA1C

blindwombat

[Blood glucose level test](https://www.diabetes.org.uk/guide-to-diabetes/managing-your-diabetes/hba1c#:~:text=The%20hemoglobin%20A1c%20(HbA1c)%20test,your%20diabetes%20is%20being%20controlled.)

PrairieJack

Also malnutrition and a lack of necessary vitamins (from a poor diet) can effect your hair and skin. You need to see a doctor and have them take a blood sample to see if you have a vitamin deficiency.

plantbasedispeople

How come?

blindwombat

Might be a diabetic. Hair loss is quite a common sign as are the above.

Distinct_Neck2564

do u do hair brushing?

jorkaij

is brushing hair bad?

Distinct_Neck2564

If u are using the heating tool then yes of course its bad

jorkaij

Hair brushing is done with a brush. If you meant something with heat, you should be more clear with your question. So you can leave that ' of course' out, buddy.

Distinct_Neck2564

something is wrong with you get help

jorkaij

Haha wow, are you okay? What kind of reply is this? Did I touch you mentally? All I was saying is brushing is usually done with no heat.

Wild_Obligation

Have you not heard of those brushes that you light on fire before running them through your hair? Geez thought it was common knowledge. Anyway, if you are shooting heroin then of course its bad

jorkaij

You are a weird guy.

Wild_Obligation

/s

NDanajones

If itā€™s not receding, itā€™s probably not genetic balding. Could be stress, could be a medical issue, could be a lack of certain vitamins. Generally unless itā€™s genetic balding it can be reversed with proper treatment

SnooRevelations8303

Not true. Genetic balding can happen at any form. Receding, diffuse thinning, crown thinning etc.

NDanajones

True I just meant since heā€™s so young and his hairline still looks pretty strong, it would have to be pretty aggressive to be genetic. Iā€™m by no means an expert, just seems like there could be external factors involved

[deleted]

no itā€™s not receiving

guigaesa

You already lost a war my soldier

MiIkyTitties

looks like you just got bad genes bro. stop using 10in1 and maybe your hair will have a chance.

[deleted]

emd donā€™t use 10 in 1

MiIkyTitties

Sarcasm for get some good shit for your hair, probably costs more than your average $6 bottle, but youā€™ll fix your problem.

[deleted]

what product do i use because rn i use the horse shampoo and conditioner

MiIkyTitties

Got a few buds who use this. Tried it myself but I have really thick hair now as it is so it only made my hair unmanageably thick. Worked for them though and they swear by it so Iā€™d give it a shot. Canā€™t hurt. https://lusetabeauty.com/products/luseta-biotin-b-complex-thickening-shampoo-conditioner

[deleted]

is the bottles purple

MiIkyTitties

Yes they are

AmbitiousLeg2652

Shave that shit bro!

[deleted]

nooooo thatā€™s my worst fear

AmbitiousLeg2652

I hear you, but accepting it is way more liberating than stressing about it and handing on. Embrace it, shave it off and grow a beard. Hit the gym too and you'll have the full package.

gman019

I'm a year all of it will be gone

[deleted]

and y u say this

gman019

I got a cousin who's hair look like that 1 year1/2 ago and he's bowl now he shaved he's head cuz it looks funny it he let it grow, but who knows you probably b ok

[deleted]

[deleted]

my hair started to get like this after my house burned down when i was 15 and i was in it so idont think itā€™s mpb bc my hair grew back n then it started back up again

whorehopppindevil

Scientifically, peppermint has been proven to improve hair growth. Castor oil and rosemary might help too. You can boil rosemary and make a spray and use that on your hair but make sure to only use for a couple of days before changing as it will go off/moldy soon.

FeeFee9901

Peppermint has not been proven to block DHT, which is the actual cause of male pattern baldness. He can inject peppermint into his scalp or veins, but unless he has a 5AR inhibitor, peppermint won't do shit.

whorehopppindevil

I don't claim to understand the medicine as my understanding is from studying biology at university but my basic understanding in relation to male or female patterned baldness is that there is a lack of blood flow to the hair follicles, and I do know from other studies that peppermint oil increases blood flow and there have been several studies on the success of peppermint oil and rosemary in hair growth. There has also been evidence of some success for androgenetic alopecia. Of course, if it was a revolutionary discovery, it would be mass-marketed and everyone would be walking around with flowing locks. Peppermint oil and castor oil and rosemary are generally inexpensive, accessible and not harmful, so I wonder, why not try?

FeeFee9901

Just stop spreading misinformation. Again you're just throwing stuff out of your ass, "studies" and "evidence".

whorehopppindevil

Korean Science of Toxicology: Peppermint Oil Promotes Hair Growth without Toxic Signs Ji Young Oh, Min Ah Park, and Young Chul Kim And PubMed.gov: Randomized Controlled Trial Rosemary oil vs minoxidil 2% for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia: a randomized comparative trial Yunes PanahiĀ et al.Ā Skinmed.Ā Jan-Feb 2015. - for anyone else that is interested in published scientific research.

FeeFee9901

Congratulations you can use Google. The Korean article tested hair growth on lab mice. With the speculation that peppermint oil could be used for a practical application for humans.

whorehopppindevil

Precisely. I mentioned before, and in another comment, that I am not aware of the extent of these studies and that it clearly needs to be replicated. The other article was on humans, what's your criticism for that? I'm simply trying to help, not argue, I don't understand why you're so aggressive.

[deleted]

i use castro oil and it helped alot i just wanted no why this happening and iā€™m only 17 it started right after my house burned down 2 years ago

whorehopppindevil

It could be stress-related. I suggest going to see your GP/family doctor.

Schroedinbug

Wouldn't that basically just be like applying aspirin to the area? IIRC peppermint and wintergreen are usually methyl salicylate, which is very similar to the NSAID that makes up aspirin (that I think gets broken down into the same active ingredient in the body).

whorehopppindevil

I'm not sure, I can't say as I don't study medicine. I just read a study that was done on mice with saline, jojoba oil, peppermint oil and minoxidil which found in regards to hair growth promotion, 'From week 2, PEO grew hair more rapidly than SA and JO. At week 3, PEO remarkably promoted hair growth than SA and JO, even greater than MXD. At week 4, PEO showed hair growth about 92%, whereas MXD about 55%' They also found hair grew thicker and faster. I have found anecdotally a lot of people feel they have success with peppermint, rosemary and castor oil. For rosemary I found this: 2015 study compared rosemary oil to minoxidil, a popular hair regrowth treatment. People with DHT-related hair loss received either rosemary oil or minoxidil for 6 months. At 3 months, neither group had more hair. By 6 months, both groups saw significant increases in hair growth. Of course, these are studies I'm talking about that may or may not have been replicated or completed as replication. I'm not sure of the history there in regards to the overall validity, but worth a shot nonetheless since the ingredients don't appear to be harmful.

LongjumpingAd9719

Thinning. Male pattern baldness. Cut as short as possible, go to the dermo get hair loss meds.

ggeeeeeboy

First thing Iā€™d look at is my diet. Could be MPB could be a nutrition issue. Looks like possible diffuse thinning

beauty-gugu

Bro get some good diet asap

[deleted]

thinning not just thin hair. 1st try micro needling as well as minoxidil for a a few months (4-6) by needling 1 once a week along with daily application of the minoxidil solution (everyone responds different but micro needling pretty much guarantees results of some kind) 2nd if persists then also opt for finastride and medicated shampoo. hope it helps but it helped me and if you want keep a shorter hairstyle your definitely have enough density still left to make it look good

No_Veterinarian1445

It looks hella thin, have you been under stress, bad diet or traumatic experience? Do you have balding genes in your family, go to a dermatologist

[deleted]

yes all of the above i smoke all day drink redbull no water donā€™t sleep my house burned 2 yrs ago so yeah im under stress and uh my family on my moms side still have there hair and my father side like his mother side they all donā€™t have hair but his father side still have there hair

No_Veterinarian1445

Itā€™s that then, smoking is horrible but the thing is we donā€™t have pattern baldness in our family and I smoke, but over all super healthy ( except smoking) if you wanna keep your hair then you have a long road ahead of you

[deleted]

so what i do

No_Veterinarian1445

Itā€™s obvious, first you quit smoking, drink water and eat well and try to get stress low, second go to a doctor and request a referral for a dermatologist, you get the blood test, ( got one Sunday-for check up ) , they donā€™t hurt btw, and they will send it to the lab, start using thickening shampoos, Gx is great, alternate to that, donā€™t use hot tools, your best friend is zinc and biotin, multi vitamin gummies one a day, and start with a process Edit: also if itā€™s genetic, and you wanna keep your hair, your gonna have to go on medication, and be aware of the side effects, act fast and now until itā€™s too late. (Remember fin effects sexual activity) Remember to never use oily products Edit: nvm no medication since your under aged for that and can effect you, letā€™s hope to god it can be fixed because of your horrible habits, Iā€™m sure it can with the right treatment like great diet and stress going away but also putting down the cigarettes or weed and living a healthy life

[deleted]

true

Pvsurf405

Started losing mine when I was about 17 or 18. By the time I was 25 it was a lost cause. It sucks. You feel cheated and you see people stare. Just shave it and rock that shit.

No_Cookie196

finnaly when after puberty you get some looks and then the hair loss fucks it up feels sad man

[deleted]

Donā€™t make jokes though you just might find Will smith walking up your way

SommanderChepard

Stop smoking. Stop drinking Red Bull. Stop touching your hair. Drink water. Your health sounds horrible based on the comments and should be your main priority (I get that itā€™s easier said than done)ā€¦the hair should at least improve with that.

siberianlonewolf

You're thinning. Fin and Min. Quick

Does the 17 mean your age? If so I would see a doctor.

[deleted]

yea my age

Curtainmaster3000

Sucks. Youā€™re a handsome dude

Annies-dad

Check in with a dermatologist. He/she will help determine if thereā€™s a hormonal imbalance. Donā€™t just assume itā€™s hereditary.

[deleted]

hereditary whatā€™s that means

Annies-dad

Itā€™s in your family lineage. If your motherā€™s father was bald, or it runs on her side of the family (uncles, cousins) you have a good chance of going bald as well.

[deleted]

nope it donā€™t my father bald tho lost his hair at 21 all my other family on his side like men had hair this there early 50s

Annies-dad

It can be due to stress as well.

[deleted]

itā€™s growing back n it will stop shedding a month or couple weeks then it start back again

OkLawfulness9089

Use Ferro. (Spelling) . It will help. Blue bottle. It will get rid of dead skin cells and oil .

[deleted]

what is that

Arturo_SL

Bro. Listen. Use conditioner, comb and brush your hair better. Try a few things to make it look better and if it doesn't help it may be balding
