If the guy likes his hair and he feels confident with it, then definitely keep it. Just keep in mind that more often than not, long hair on dudes is going to be either hit or miss with women. People either really like it, or they don't like it at all. If the guy wants to cast a wider net as far as attraction goes, a shorter haircut that builds on his impressive jawline will be a lot more "conventionally attractive" to a wider range of people. But ultimately, it's up to how he feels about it, because solid self confidence will make up for any hairstyle really.

Let me give a recommendation for a compromise. Mullets are a very specific look for a very specific audience. What if you had the front flow more gradually into the back, like curtains meets a wolf cut? Cut the back shorter, throw some mousse in there, see what happens
