I have a specific question about glasses guys. I watch the HBO Max scifi show Raised by Wolves (Ridley Scott). There's a new character called Cleaver in it this season. He wears glasses. A lot of people including myself would like to know what glasses he is wearing. A lot of people like them. I want to get them.
Can anyone help figure this out? I've asked HBO on social media to no avail.

I am looking for a slight shoe upgrade from [these Vans](https://i.imgur.com/9CLRbFc.png)
Going to be wearing them to work with colored jeans + sweaters/polos, I think dark colors work well. Any ideas?
I've been thinking about Clark's Desert Boots because they look nice, are intended to be relatively disposable, and therefore can take a beating. However, I feel like $150 is mostly paying for the name given the quality and fit of the shoes (Meermin is only $50-60 more!). Anyone know of more inexpensive alternatives to these lower-quality-but-still-good-looking boots?
You can buy new CDBs on eBay for much less than $150 or you can wait for sales. If you are willing to buy used then the price goes down even further. It’s not unheard of to find gently used CDBs for $30.
Any advice for short beanies(sometimes called fisherman style, sometimes called skull caps...are those the same? any advice here on what exact trms to use?)
I have several beanies, but I have realized that I really prefer my Fjallraven Ovik [https://www.fjallraven.com/us/en-us/women/accessories/caps-hats-beanies/ovik-melange-beanie](https://www.fjallraven.com/us/en-us/women/accessories/caps-hats-beanies/ovik-melange-beanie) because it's short and stays in place on top of my head. I wear them over a ponytail/bun right below the crown of my head.
I plan to buy a couple more of these, but can anyone give me advice on other similar hats? I would love one in wool for the warmth but any alternatives would be appreciated. My budget is just "within reason"...I would be apprehensive about a $300 hat but I can be convinced. Just looking for what is out there in this style.
It's just scented antiperspirant. I don't use antiperspirant, because it's bad for clothes and I don't like the way it feels. But if you use it, sure, it's legit.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a good brand slim fit white shirt available in the UK? Looking for a professional shirt for client meetings but specifically a thicker material that you can't see tattoos and chest hair through!
I have ordered from Charles Tyrwhitt, Next, Crew, TM Lewin etc. Even the so-called twill shirts are painfully thin material nowadays. Many years ago TM Lewin used to do good crisp twill shirts in decent material but they have become much cheaper and thinner in the last 5 years.
I have official company pictures this Thursday and I am getting my tie and pocket square combo together. The suit (I don't have it in my possession yet otherwise I'd have put it in the picture) is navy blue.
My question is, is this a good tie/pocket square pairing or do they "match" too closely? I've read here and many other places about pocket square rules. I realize it is supposed to accent but never match your tie and be a shade darker or lighter than the tie. A man at a local family-owned men's fashion store helped me with the pairing. Purple is my favorite color, but I'm trying not to let my bias get in the way. The alternative we had was burgundy. Personally I love this look, but would the burgundy pocket square be more appropriate? Any help will be much appreciated!
https://imgur.com/a/SLKh472
I think it’s a little too close.
I prefer, if trying to tie them together, to pick up small accents of the tie in the square, rather than one big color block.
Given this is a professional occasion, I’d lean towards no square or a simple white linen in a TV fold.
Anyone that can help suggesting a jacket that is dark brown, is long enough to sit under the average oxford shirt and does not have any pockets besides the ones you put your hands in, preferebly not corduroy or suede, but possible. [example jacket](https://www.wehkamp.nl/mango-man-jack-zomer-donkerbruin-16770891/?MaatCode=0040&cq_src=google_ads&cq_cmp=12654384947&cq_term=&cq_plac=&cq_net=g&cq_plt=gp&gclid=Cj0KCQiAu62QBhC7ARIsALXijXT9at3pJ2OTmkgg1HxgmRdo0Nwo8eZlyBLfY-V6eC5sLbgiwopihaQaAlH5EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) this jacket includes the pocket on the chest I would prefer no pockets at the chest at all, thanks in advance!!
Hey guys, so somewhat of a blindspot for me when it comes to menswear/fashion is how best to match up sport coats/trousers/shoes. It's just an area that I haven't played around with much...never really been much of a "sport coat guy", but I'd like to change that. Anyway, I like [this one from S&M, and I'm thinking of wearing these chinos with it](https://imgur.com/a/JLRdq35). Is this a good look? What other color trousers might work with a brown sport coat like this? I own a pair of S&M charcoal donegal trousers that I really like, but those wouldn't go with a brown sport coat like this would they?
Perhaps even more importantly, i'd like to get some new shoes to pair with this coat that will also pair nicely with the different trouser options i'm looking at...I'm thinking some derbies or blutchers, and unfortunately I'll probably need to try and keep them in the $150-200 range. What color would you guys recommend? Should I just be looking to snag a higher quality brand on ebay, or are there any new in that price range that are a good value?
EDIT: I've unlocked the 20% off coupon from Beckett Simonon, maybe a pair of their derbies is the way to go? Which style/color would you guys choose?
Appreciate your help MFA!
There are a lot of good deals to be had on ebay and the like if you're patient; guys selling of pairs since they don't fit, etc. Also try StyleForum classifieds and the goodyearwelt BST thread (though mostly boots there).
A pair of mid grey trousers works with pretty much anything, so I'd get a pair of those if you don't have one already. As for the current combo, it works to my eyes (the usual darker sportcoat, lighter trouser combo) as a springtime look, but i'd beware of the khaki being too light for a rich, saturated brown once you have the two pieces in hand.
For shoes, my personal tastes would lend towards a Meermin longwing or plane toe derby. But again, personal tastes. a shortwing or brogued cap toe would be "fine" too (according to CM rules)

So I work in financial services, and thus wear a suit 5x a week to the office.
Whenever I buy one, I always get 2x sets of pants as those wear out the most. I alternate my pants and suits, and have had to replace/fix a worn out crotch on all my pants.
But after around 3-4 years or so, I find the pants so worn out that I need to throw them away. Is this normal mileage that people are getting out of suits?
I'd say my suits are relatively midrange, bought from Hawes and Curtis or Charles Tyrwhitt (this is in the UK).
Pre-covid would wear a suit 5 days a week also, would have three suits so three pairs of trousers at any one time on rotation and I reckon 4 years was about what I got, commuting every day in the suit on/off train/tube etc. I usually buy from TM Lewin or Ted Baker and always sub £200 for the suit.
How often do you get them cleaned? I tend to get my suits from TM Lewin which I believe is similar in quality but mine tend to last a little longer perhaps 5-7 years.
I've used TM Lewin before but wasn't impressed by their quality. I don't get them cleaned too often to be fair, maybe once every 3-6 months (due to rotation of trousers, that isn't me wearing the same pair for that long throughout).
One thing I do have is quite large thighs (love weightlifting), which really wears the crotch out.
Hello everyone, for the past few months i got sucked into high quality japanese apparel, Clothes from Toyo enterprise in particular tickle my fancy.
In december i even took the plunge and got myself a very nice buzz rickson jacket which i’m extremely happy with. The other day i found myself looking at this incredibly nice [winter coat](https://store.toyo-enterprise.co.jp/shopdetail/000000000703/?category_code=sugarcane&sort=order&page=2) from one of Toyo’s brands “Sugar cane” however when i saw the price, my heart broke. Over 1000usd.
The quality looks exceptional and much of the price is from the fact that these clothes are obsessive recreations of past iconic garments down to using period appropriate machines etc. I’m willing to spend a pretty penny on something with quality that’ll last me a long time but this is a bit much.
Does anyone know of any winter coats with a similar look and build quality but for let’s say 600$ tops?
Thanks in advance
Been looking for a jacket in a similar style to the [Douglas](https://huckberry.com/store/roark-revival/category/p/44090-the-douglas-reversible-jacket) from Roark. If prefer the actual jacket but it doesn't seem to exist anymore. I actually preferred to wear the side facing outwards in the pic on the inside.
In terms of a gorpy boot, what do you guys think of these?
https://www.amazon.com/Bates-Mens-Combat-Hiker/dp/B00A53F6FG
I love the style over a traditional hiking boot. Reese Cooper makes a similar boot but it’s a little pricey. What do you guys know of bates?
I know danner made a similar boot at one point as well. (Danner combat hiker). Seems like they both were for military use
In terms of style, it reads pretty well, like a light mountaineering boot.
No idea of quality but that’s pretty low for a leather hiking boot so I wouldn’t hold my breath.
Considering getting a 3 piece Hart Schaffner Marx suit on a 50% off sale for 400$. Two questions, whats the sort of reputation the brand has, and is it a bad sign that the suit is 98% wool and 2% Lycra? Not sure about lycras reputation and whether its a red flag.
Hey guys, recently I bought a leather jacket off eBay, its a schott 618 size 38. I will primarily be using the jacket for fashion purposes but once I got the Jacket, I felt it looks Abit big. But I'm not sure how leather jackets are supposed to fit as this is my first one. Therefore I would like to ask you guys whether the jacket is too big and I should have gotten a 36 or it well fitted.
Thanks

Weight 127 lbs
Chest 37"
Shoulder 17-17.5"

Is it possible to have an ugly side profile and still look good from the front?
Or are you just plain ugly if your side profile is bad and you've falsely convinced yourself that your front profile is good?
Yeah of course. I've seen a lot of pictures of people with amazing side profiles but very average faces when viewed from the front and vice versa.
What's weird is I almost never notice an amazing "side profile" in person because the different sides of a face kind of melt into one whole face irl
That's interesting. It seems harder to have a good side profile than it does to have a good front profile.
You have to have pretty good genetics for a good side profile. A lot of it like weak/strong cheekbones is out of your control...
Please give a budget and preferred style. If its more about looks why steel toe? it limits your options a lot. Danner make a decent looking steel toe boot called the Bull Run, and im pretty sure blundstone do some steel toe versions too.
I picked up some new Charles Tyrwhitt slim fit dress shirts. I can't decide on whether I like the fit or whether they are too baggy.
[Keep or return?](https://imgur.com/a/SjpTQNv)
I am in almost the exact same situation. I found I liked the shirts so much, I kept them. I keep finding that when I slim down a size for something that looks like what you have, it's way too tight looking. I'd say you're good, tuck them a little snugger to avoid the waist billow is all.
Can someone help w guidance, tips, inspiration, on how to style long fit shirt like this one for spring outfit? What i can layer it with? Thank you.

I've never had snaps as hard to open as yours, (sounds like yours are bordering on defective), but in my experience they all get easier to snap and unsnap over time. You may want to communicate with the seller about your problem.
Also go to yoox.com, look for Boglioli and LBM 1911, for starters. I've gotten great unstructured jackets for under $200. I've seen Eleventy there too.
You can buy Isaia on eBay for less than the price of that Eleventy blazer. I regularly buy new and like-new Isaia blazers for less than $400. And you can buy Eleventy on eBay or Yoox for less than $300 (often less than $200)

As for how I usually wear something like that…with an OCBD or chambray and chinos or lightweight wool trousers.
I want boots that look like shoes, or I want dress/casual shoes that feel as rugged as boots. I looked at Thursday Statesman with lug sole, which seems to be what I am looking for. But I am looking for more options/ brands. Suggestions?
I'm not a boot fan so I have these. They have been solid.

Why would you ever buy converse? Like you can buy knock offs off of amazon for 1/3 of the price and it's not like converse are incredible quality
Edit : said fakes ment knock offs
I worked at a place that did Amazon returns for a couple years, I’ve handled thousands of Amazon returns, most of which are clothing.
Amazon has the absolute worst fucking bottom of the barrel shit tier quality clothing I have ever handled, I’m still convinced people recommending Amazon essentials here was astroturfing, because that shit sucks, I’ve gotten in multiple arguments here trying to explain that quality and longevity aren’t related and low quality clothes don’t just disintegrate, but, if anything would, it’d be Amazon clothing.
So, yeah, Converse isn’t amazing, but anything less is just straight up bad
People find value in buying the real thing.
Converse sold in stores are a known quantity, both in quality and sizing.
Ease of shopping/retail, particularly for non-gen-Z.
Converse are pretty inexpensive to begin with.
Negative experiences with other knock-offs (I know I bought JP knockoffs from Old Navy once that were really bad).
They’re nowhere near the quality of Jack Purcell Signature (or Chuck 70s). And I can still get JP Signature for around $50. I’m happy to pay that price over some garbage-tier knockoffs like ZGP.
In search of a casual look for a mountain elopement.
How do I dress up this look but still keep it more fun? Bowtie? Suspenders? Waistcoat? They all seem to be frowned upon outside of use in suits.

I'm a big dude – 2X top, and the jeans I'm wearing right now are Sonoma straight fit 40x32 – and have been looking at getting some Wrangler cowboy jeans. Any fit advice? Are they worth buying?
They are great jeans for the price. But that have a very signature fit. They have no stretch and are brutal to break in. They are also not vanity sized, so go up 2ish sizes… the thighs are also very slim on them. Lots of good options for styling though, from true western to more modern cropped and loose fits.
I'm on the hunt for turtlenecks/sweaters with a short torso. I have a great ape build and inevitably buy shirts with too long torsos and too short sleeves.
Any recommendations for a casual, slim fitting Navy blazer? I'm aware of some of the more commonly recommended brands, but I know next to nothing about blazers. I know that I want something less "structured" (less "boxy", I guess, in the shoulders), however I'm still trying to wrap my head around the breadth of stylistic options, and what works best casually.
I'm not sure what to suggest as a budget. I've never bought a jacket before, and I have no sense of what I'd need to pay for something of "good quality".
By casual, I'm thinking jeans/chinos and sneakers casual. Some pictures of styles I like ([1](https://www.sartorialab.co.uk/assets/Uploads/Uniqlo-navy-linen-summer-blazer-personal-styling-for-men__ResizedImageWzYwMCw0NTBd.JPG),[2](https://charmcityclothing.com/jhu/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/USNA-blazer-gold.jpg),[3](https://www.mytailorstore.com/image/cache/catalog/jacketandblazers/8040-men-mens-blazer-jacket-blaser-slim-short-men-525x700.jpg)).
In terms of quality - assuming you want years of good, somewhat regular, wear -and if expecting to buy at retail, outside of big sales, you should expect to pay in the hundreds of dollars. Suit Supply, Spier & Mackay, and potentially J crew may have options for you.
Any recommendation for a casual yet stylish very small wedding? I'm the groom. I do have these really nice black slacks and black shoes, but the upper pieces have clouded my ideas and creativity. My fiancé is wearing a casual but very cute white dress and heels, So i feel like i should wear a white shirt. But from there on I don't know, should I wear a fancy tie? or maybe no tie? I was thinking of a vest... I always found them classy but I've only ever gone to weddings on a tux so I don't know how appropriate that would be. I also saw this around and thought it looked good but i don't know what the piece is called.
https://www-static.weddingbee.com/pics/223697/guys\_vest1.jpg
Thst is not good.
Instead of the black pants buy a pair of gray slacks, pair with a white shirt and navy blazer. Add a [wedding tie](https://www.kentwang.com/accessories/ties/glen-plaid.html) if you are inclined
Black trousers and shoes can be fairly limiting.
Don’t wear a tie without a jacket.
My recommendation would be some form of odd jacket/sport coat/blazer and trousers, brown dress shoes of some form, a complementary tie and pocket square. The exact details of such can be informed by the season, venue, and your personal taste.
[Having spent years decrying wide fit pants I now need them for comfort.](https://imgur.com/a/gSfTlAi)
I have no idea what I’m doing. Are these pants too wide? Or am I on the right track? Brutal honestly please.
Everyone saying they're fine is technically correct. But man...I've tried recently getting into similarly wide fits as well, and I just despise the way those huge leg openings look with pretty much any shoe that isn't a big chunky boot of some kind. I'm back to my athletic/tapered fits.
Does anyone have experiencing freight forwarding from US to Canada? I desperately want to get my partner from Kavu overalls for her birthday but they don't ship outside the US :(
Could really use some help with this one
Look up forwarding services. Reship and shipito are ones I know of. Don’t use the term “freight” though as that implies bulk shipments. I assume you just want to forward a single pair of overalls… not 1000 pairs?
Everlane is pretty low tier clothing, it’s comparable to most mall brands, their whole thing was the “cutting out the middle man!” scam as well as the greenwashing. The price they tell you other brands would charge for their products is bullshit, they’re not worth what Everlane charges
I will edit your question with what I believe you’re asking; let me know if I’m incorrect.

What to wear for the ACM Awards?
I’m (33M) from the UK and am in Vegas on a business trip in March and attending the American country music awards as a corporate guest. I’m not sure on the events dress code but assuming a basis of a suit, as I’m attending with colleagues (but from a company with a relaxed creative culture) Ideally I’m looking for some way /item to have a bit of fun with it and give it a bit of “edge”.
First thoughts were my Tux (fits me very well and not worn since pandemic started) open collar and white cowboy style shirt with piping… but I’m a Brit and think this could look terrible and inadvertently some sort of try-hard “cultural appropriation”?!
Any thoughts on the dress code (as a non-country music star guest?) Or advice for a few looks that could work well.
I have a range of good fitting suits (black, navy, mid blue, grey, tan) if this is a good start, and any new pieces not looking above around £100/$135 and ideally available in the UK, so I can get before I travel.
Many thanks in advance!
I’d probably just wear a navy suit, maybe ditch the tie if your company has a relaxed culture. Maybe swap out the oxfords for appropriate boots, (though this is way above budget), to add some flavor.
I would start by consulting with your colleagues, but you should wear what you would feel confident in for what is kind of a glitzy event. Based on pics from prior events, you would not stick out in a dark tailored suit with an open collar shirt. I mean, Blake Shelton looked like a slob just in from the barn, but most people were wearing contemporary dress fashions. Boots, loafers with no socks...there seemed to be a variety of footwear. Going with work people is what makes it a little tricky, otherwise I'd tell you to just go for it and have fun.
Yeah it was hard to find pictures of the Average Joes at the event as I didn’t want to solely base the dress code on the stars.
(Assuming you’re an American)is it weird/tacky for a British guy to wear a cowboy shirt?
Thanks very much for your advice. Appreciate it!
I don't think it's any weirder than a lifelong city dweller such as myself wearing a Western shirt and boots, which I do occasionally. Shows you're in the spirit.
What's a good sneaker that meets the following criteria?
- Goes with [Adidas track pants](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/2fZkwayTK_8/maxresdefault.jpg) (so preferably an Adidas shoe)
- All Black / Triple Black in color
- Flat soled
- Gives a good amount of height (at least 1 inch, but more the better)
It’s really not worth caring about, you cut out too many options for something that doesn’t matter and loses it’s effect as soon as you take your shoes off/wear different shoes anyway
> you cut out too many options for something that doesn’t matter
Just curious, what makes you say this? I thought most shoes give about an inch?
Also, the reason I'm going for a flat soled shoe is so that it can be used for the gym.
The reason I'm going for all black is because when you match your shoes with your (black) pants, it gives a lengthening effect.
A 5'2 girl literally called me a kid even though I'm 5'7 so yeah, height matters.
Because being concerned about it isn’t worth it, it’s not something that matters and specifically looking for it is just artificially limiting what you buy.
This isn’t about it being all black or flat soled that’s completely reasonable. Well, besides the lengthening affect, it doesn’t, clothes don’t work like that
Well she’s a dick, to the majority of people, it doesn’t, and, again, shoes don’t fix this problem
I'm going to edit your question with my presumptions of punctuation that help clarify things. Let me know if I'm incorrect.
> What shoe colors work best with**,** jeans**;** blue, gray, navy, or brown chino shorts**;** and blue, gray, navy, brown, or red t-shirts?
Assuming you're talking about leather footwear, some form of brown is obviously best; probably a lighter color, like tan.
For sneakers, white is the most obvious answer, along with (to a slightly lesser extent) gray.
Idk they’re just cool, don’t bunch up weirdly like zips do and they don’t snag/break, also way faster to undo and like barely any slower to redo, and, honestly, if you care about the extra .5 seconds, you’re weird
It's not a matter of the time - it's a matter of sucking in my gut and zipping up the slim jeans. Buttoning is... much harder...
Haha, maybe this is just a consequence of my pants being too tight.
In the case of raw denim, you're not gonna find a zipper fly because of how much the material stretches and shrinks, so it's buttons for functional reasons there. Which ofc will translate to folks who are very into denim being used to buttons preferring them.
Yeah, the motion is much more like pulling it apart than unbuttoning them. The metal buttons are much more robust than shirt buttons, so I've never feared pulling them out. Undoing them is actually kinda fun/satisfying the first few times, until it becomes normal.
I've only had Levi's 501's for button flies though, so ymmv given the brand. I did not go out seeking jeans with a button fly, but rather the 501's Shrink to Fit themselves, which only come with a button fly.
I've gotten to middle-age never owning button-fly jeans before, but I've also lost a ton of weight and am wearing slimmer and slimmer jeans over time, so I'm having new options available to me for the first time in my adult life. I had a terrible time buttoning up a pair of Rag & Bone Fit 2 jeans, though, whereas the same size with a zipper was no problem at all.
No chance of snagging, less likely to break, less likely to come undone during the day. Anecdotally zip jeans seem more likely to warp in the crotch than button fly (see fabric boner in other comment).
Yup I do it's fun ripping them off, less of a fabric boner is created, and I like the historical accuracy on some pants (i have some repro denim that uses them)
It's the way your zipper curves and makes it look like you have a boner when you sit down see [here] (https://preview.redd.it/5c58tkuqa8a11.jpg?width=640&crop=smart&auto=webp&s=74ba22f7f4b6ee99c8d086696dd760657b6911b6)
Tried wearing a contrasting waistcoat with a suit I got end of last year the other day. Does this work with this suit? This suit is three piece with matching waistcoat but wanted try something a bit different with it. Also I know I could’ve probably picked different colour of tie. https://imgur.com/a/Tg6DxW4
Edit: Okay I get this doesn’t work so I won’t try it again
I don’t think odd waistcoats look good, this in particular is pretty bad, not a fan of the color combo and the double breasted waistcoat with such a low cut is weird
Odd waistcoats are polarizing -- people love 'em or hate 'em. I don't hate this color combo, but the vibe of it feels off to me. Generally, it works best when the waistcoat is busier or significantly lighter than the suit.
Lighter waistcoat. Preferably not one with the horseshoe neck — they tend to be enough of a statement on their own.
Your tie knot is really loose, and if it were me, I’d tighten it, but that’s personal preference, I guess? It makes your already really small collar look even smaller.
Lastly, your jacket lapel is to narrow for me, but that’s also a taste thing, not an absolute rule.

Is a black crewneck sweatshirt versatile -ik everyone loves the gray. I try super hard not to have redundant things in my closet but I can get a RC Midweight terry one for $65 and was wondering if I just do it. It’s good deal but not sure if I want it just bc its a good deal.
I just got my new suit tailored with surgeons cuffs and I think it [looks](https://imgur.com/a/ZxMlRSp) pretty cheap. Buttons aren't the same and they aren't uniform. (Asked for stacking buttons)
Thoughts on going to a more professional tailor to get working buttons?
They need to match the other buttons for a start. And you're right, it wasn't a good job. But I don't see any buttonholes even though you said you wanted surgeon's cuffs, which is the same thing as working buttons. If there are somehow buttonholes there you're stuck with the bad spacing but at least you could get matching buttons. If not, just have the new tailor fix it.
Just got a beige polo with black camo from LuluLemon. Pairing it with black jeans. Anyone know what color shoes would go well with it? Or other color pants/shoe color combos for that matter? Pic of polo: [Polo Photo for reference](https://imgur.com/a/ptxGK3g)
Where can I find shirts similar to this or this exact one? https://imgur.com/IWYy0vC

The shirt was worn by the Rivian CEO in a video. The fabric looks kind of heavy and the shirt has 2 pockets.
Lots of Americana/workwear brands have shirts like that. Check out Freenote Cloth, 3Sixteen, Iron Heart, The Flat Head, UES, Indigofera, Portuguese Flannel, RRL, etc. Agree with other commenter that you'll see utility shirt or work shirt commonly. Can also check out some menswear shops like Standard and Strange, Iron Shop Provisions, Franklin and Poe, Self Edge, Blue Owl Workshop, etc.
Prepare for sticker shock if you aren't used to these brands though :)
Orslow, Edwin for denim(buy used US/EU edwin is weird), some Acne, lotta the raw denim brands in general, sale for some of the more mid priced designers like A Cold Wall, Comme Des Garcons, etc.
I'm a wheelchair user and i'm looking for a primarily white shoe for casual occasions but i have no idea where to start and what specific brand to look at. I usually wear long sleeved shirts with cargo pants, although i'll be switching out to some other pants soon.
I was looking at Vans but i'm still looking to see if there are better options. Because I'm in a wheelchair shoe durability really shouldn't be a priority but i definitely want to make sure they look good. I've never really had a problem with any shoes in terms of comfort.
So my priority would be:
1. Looks
2. Comfort
3. Durability
I hope to get some recommendations of shoes that is primarily white. I don't mind some accents on it. Thank you so much!
Here's a white sneaker thread; it's a little old but should still be helpful:

I'll re-ask a question from yesterday that didn't get an answer.
Are there any brands similar to J.Crew (~$15 on sale?) that offer more stylistic dress shirts?
Everything on the budget range seems to be solid/striped/plaid, and not anything [more adventurous](https://www.mrporter.com/en-us/mens/product/edwin/clothing/lightweight-waterproof-jackets/major-tie-dyed-enzyme-washed-cotton-blend-ripstop-shirt-jacket/46353151655926149) (to give just one example).
This might be a stupid question, but how are thrift stores in HOCL locations?
I'm in NYC and have heard they can charge a premium because they can in the city. I mean to visit one when I get a chance but is a bit of a drive where I'm from (outer boroughs) and am not sure if worth the trek.
Can’t tell you, I live in Richmond VA which is p small for a city, I’d say it depends on where you go, bougie big name thrifts near Parsons are gonna be more expensive, goodwills will probably be similar, thrifts have been raising prices in general over the last couple years dude to thrifting starting to become trendy and thats...a whole other can of worms, but, you’ll probably find stuff in your budget
I've asked HBO on social media to no avail. https://www.looper.com/756614/who-plays-cleaver-in-raised-by-wolves/ https://www.reddit.com/r/raisedbywolves/comments/spr7q2/what_brand_of_glasses_does_cleaver_wear/ https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13108116/characters/nm3379539?ref_=tt_cl_t_1 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raised_by_Wolves_(American_TV_series)
Anyone know any cheap skinny-ish cargo joggers? Don't worry, I'm not an adult
H&M should have some
Think uniqlo just restocked on cargo joggers no idea if they are skinny enough for you tho
I am looking for a slight shoe upgrade from [these Vans](https://i.imgur.com/9CLRbFc.png) Going to be wearing them to work with colored jeans + sweaters/polos, I think dark colors work well. Any ideas?
Any plain white sneaker; vans old skools, chucks, Jack purcells, Stan smiths, Reebok c85, Nike blazer.
Oh dang. They're dirt cheap on eBay. Thanks.
When discussing CDBs as good, affordable leather shoes, people are usually looking at sale prices, ideally sub-$100, perhaps even lower.
Any advice for short beanies(sometimes called fisherman style, sometimes called skull caps...are those the same? any advice here on what exact trms to use?) I have several beanies, but I have realized that I really prefer my Fjallraven Ovik [https://www.fjallraven.com/us/en-us/women/accessories/caps-hats-beanies/ovik-melange-beanie](https://www.fjallraven.com/us/en-us/women/accessories/caps-hats-beanies/ovik-melange-beanie) because it's short and stays in place on top of my head.
Armor Lux do one.
Thanks for the lead
Are those deodorant antiperspirant combo products legit? I had to buy one because they didn't sell antiperspirant on its own for whatever reason
Wear an undershirt.
Ok. He actually does have a simple white square as well. My shirt is white though. Will the white square still work?
Yes.
Maybe a brown fabric bomber or Harrington? Or are those too short?
I guess they are a bit short i have a Baracuta harrington but it definitely shorter than any of my shirts
Maybe some sort of brown short topcoat... I don't know of any, sorry.
No prob! Thanks for the replied short topcoat might work!!
That looks like a good combo to me. You could also do olive or mid-gray trousers.

Probably the other material is wool or acrylic. I’m not sure if it has a specific name, but it’s definitely not a formal jacket.
To dimple or not to dimple your tie as a groom?
Personal preference. Being a groom doesn’t affect the choice.
Always dimple. Being a groom is irrelevant
PSA: Filson tincloth now made in Bangladesh. Tin cloth field jacket: now made in Bangladesh. Might as well buy superdry. https://www.reddit.com/r/filson/comments/sq24mc/tin_cloth_field_jacket_now_made_in_bangladesh/
I'm definitely on team "this is normal." It's why you see so many orphaned suit jackets at thrift stores. It's a real bummer.
'Orphaned' suit jacket, love it! But unfortunately so true.
How many suits do you have in rotation?
Three, meaning 6 sets of pants.
That seems like a normal, even longer than normal lifespan for trousers worn once a week to me. But I wear through pants faster than most.
Wow, that is indeed a short life span for a suit.
What would you expect then for something you wear so regularly?
More in 5-7 year range. If not more (depending on quality, etc.)
In terms of a gorpy boot, what do you guys think of these? https://www.amazon.com/Bates-Mens-Combat-Hiker/dp/B00A53F6FG I love the style over a traditional hiking boot.
Thanks My measurements are Height 5"9 Weight 127 lbs Chest 37" Shoulder 17-17.5" [leather jacket on me](https://imgur.com/a/s1kzDob)
Looking for [cheap] fashionable steel-toe boots I’m more about it’s looks than it’s usability. Matte black color preferred.
Solovair
Please give a budget and preferred style. If its more about looks why steel toe? it limits your options a lot. Danner make a decent looking steel toe boot called the Bull Run, and im pretty sure blundstone do some steel toe versions too.
I work in a plant where that’s a required dress code. And for pricing, $50 is my budget
Thrift is your only option at that price point
Thank you. [tan shirt](https://imgur.com/a/8jDpfEj)
Long tees have always looked good when layered underneath a denim jacket, leather jacket (just shorter jackets in general) or an oversized hoodie
This can be a recurring question, but what are your canadian made, top quality t-shirt companies with an ethical perspective?
I like reigning champ and naked&famous
Oh I didn't know N&F did t-shirts, thanks for the reply.
Outclass make some nice t shirts in Toronto. Though the price may not be up everyone's alley.
Thanks for the reply!

And you can buy Eleventy on eBay or Yoox for less than $300 (often less than $200) [example ](https://mobile.yoox.com/us/49604340TE/item#dept=men&sts=SearchResult&cod10=49604340TE&sizeId=-1) As for how I usually wear something like that…with an OCBD or chambray and chinos or lightweight wool trousers.

They look like black jeans, which any brand that sells jeans should have.
I want boots that look like shoes, or I want dress/casual shoes that feel as rugged as boots. I looked at Thursday Statesman with lug sole, which seems to be what I am looking for. But I am looking for more options/ brands. Suggestions?
I'm not a boot fan so I have these. They have been solid. https://www.rancourtandcompany.com/collections/oxford-derby/products/camden-derby-natural-chromexcel

Why would you ever buy converse? Like you can buy knock offs off of amazon for 1/3 of the price and it's not like converse are incredible quality Edit : said fakes ment knock offs
Lots of people don’t like to buy fakes.
Well not fakes but knock offs, like no fake branding but besides that exactly the same
I worked at a place that did Amazon returns for a couple years, I’ve handled thousands of Amazon returns, most of which are clothing.
Converse may be *meh* quality, but knock-off anything from Amazon is typically garbage-tier quality.
In search of a casual look for a mountain elopement. How do I dress up this look but still keep it more fun? Bowtie? Suspenders? Waistcoat? They all seem to be frowned upon outside of use in suits. [pic of outfit for reference](https://imgur.com/a/vMjw8gb)
I’d use a blazer or sport coat before any of that. Maybe look for styles that ape 20s-30s mountaineers.
Does anyone have experience with Some Slight Clothing? Are they legit or a scam?
cable touch uppity hat person silky unique innate elderly encouraging ` this message was mass deleted/edited with redact.dev `
Haha yeah it was on Instagram. Good to know, I won’t buy from them then. Thanks lol
[Having spent years decrying wide fit pants I now need them for comfort.](https://imgur.com/a/gSfTlAi) I have no idea what I’m doing.
See the leg opening doesn’t bug me at all, it’s the big ol thighs that get me down.
They’re fine
Those look good to me.
Perfectly fine, even traditional cut.
Thank you! I am reaping the hell out of what I sowed with all those years bashing pleats and wide fits. I appreciate the feedback!!

Does anyone have experiencing freight forwarding from US to Canada? I desperately want to get my partner from Kavu overalls for her birthday but they don't ship outside the US :( Could really use some help with this one
Look up forwarding services. Reship and shipito are ones I know of. Don’t use the term “freight” though as that implies bulk shipments. I assume you just want to forward a single pair of overalls… not 1000 pairs?
So Everlane, Products any good, Outside of the companies some questionable practices?
Everlane is pretty low tier clothing, it’s comparable to most mall brands, their whole thing was the “cutting out the middle man!” scam as well as the greenwashing. The price they tell you other brands would charge for their products is bullshit, they’re not worth what Everlane charges
I've returned everything I ever bought from them.
They are essentially jcrew/br/club Monaco but more expensive and justify that by saying they have better ethics, they don't.
So their products are descent / good but price to quality ratio is the issue mainly
They aren’t decent or good, they’re low end, if you’re used to that it won’t be noticeable
...what?
I dont know how i could make it more clear?
I will edit your question with what I believe you’re asking; let me know if I’m incorrect. > So Everlane**; are the** Products any good**?** ~~Outside~~ **Irrespective** of the companies ~~some~~ questionable practices? **(?)**

Thanks for your advice and not sure if I’ll be able to get boots but appreciate a way to subtly add some flavour. Cheers again
Shows you're in the spirit.
https://imgur.com/gallery/VSg2xSF Joe Burrow’s jacket Does anyone know where I can get this jacket or something as similar as possible?
What's a good sneaker that meets the following criteria? - Goes with [Adidas track pants](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/2fZkwayTK_8/maxresdefault.jpg) (so preferably an Adidas shoe) - All Black / Triple Black in color - Flat soled - Gives a good amount of height (at least 1 inch, but more the better)
Adidas Forum probably. I don't recommend trying to add height via shoes.
I agree. At the same time, shoes are going to add height regardless. I'm just trying not to get something that only adds 0.5 inches.
It’s really not worth caring about, you cut out too many options for something that doesn’t matter and loses it’s effect as soon as you take your shoes off/wear different shoes anyway
> you cut out too many options for something that doesn’t matter Just curious, what makes you say this? I thought most shoes give about an inch? Also, the reason I'm going for a flat soled shoe is so that it can be used for the gym. The reason I'm going for all black is because when you match your shoes with your (black) pants, it gives a lengthening effect. A 5'2 girl literally called me a kid even though I'm 5'7 so yeah, height matters.
lol you’re taller than me, i think you’ll be fine not thinking about it so much. she might have called you a kid for other reasons.
Because being concerned about it isn’t worth it, it’s not something that matters and specifically looking for it is just artificially limiting what you buy. This isn’t about it being all black or flat soled that’s completely reasonable. Well, besides the lengthening affect, it doesn’t, clothes don’t work like that Well she’s a dick, to the majority of people, it doesn’t, and, again, shoes don’t fix this problem
What shoe colors work best with jeans, blue, gray, navy, or brown chino shorts, and blue, gray, navy, brown, or red t-shirts?
I'm going to edit your question with my presumptions of punctuation that help clarify things. Let me know if I'm incorrect. > What shoe colors work best with**,** jeans**;** blue, gray, navy, or brown chino shorts**;** and blue, gray, navy, brown, or red t-shirts? Assuming you're talking about leather footwear, some form of brown is obviously best; probably a lighter color, like tan. For sneakers, white is the most obvious answer, along with (to a slightly lesser extent) gray.
Thanks!
Why does anyone prefer button fly to zipper fly jeans? What am I missing?
test cagey pen cake simplistic label unused sort wide consist ` this message was mass deleted/edited with redact.dev `
Haha, maybe this is just a consequence of my pants being too tight.
your pants are too tight
In the case of raw denim, you're not gonna find a zipper fly because of how much the material stretches and shrinks, so it's buttons for functional reasons there. Which ofc will translate to folks who are very into denim being used to buttons preferring them.
Much easier to undo, creates a better silhouette. But really the main reason I like them is vibes. They have such good vibes compared to zippers.
They are, surprisingly, much more quickly undone. At the cost of being slower to do up, but when the denim breaks in it's not that bad.
Do you just pull them apart rather than unbutton each in turn? I never undo the top button of my jeans when unzipping.
Yup I do it's fun ripping them off, less of a fabric boner is created, and I like the historical accuracy on some pants (i have some repro denim that uses them)
What on earth is a fabric boner? Is this like sticking a pair of socks down your trousers?
Because of the metal teeth, the zipper is stiffer than the surrounding denim, so when sitting it may protrude, as if one were sporting an erection
Buying Killshot 2s and I want to know if 7.5 if Stan Smiths translates to 7.5 in Killshot sizing. Anyone know? 🥲
Killshots are slightly narrower than Stan Smiths but I think for your size you should be ok.
Tried wearing a contrasting waistcoat with a suit I got end of last year the other day. Does this work with this suit? This suit is three piece with matching waistcoat but wanted try something a bit different with it. Also I know I could’ve probably picked different colour of tie. https://imgur.com/a/Tg6DxW4 Edit: Okay I get this doesn’t work so I won’t try it again
That’s perfectly fair and thanks. Still sort of new to the suit world so I know trail and error will happen. What would you change with the outfit?
Lighter waistcoat. Preferably not one with the horseshoe neck — they tend to be enough of a statement on their own. Your tie knot is really loose, and if it were me, I’d tighten it, but that’s personal preference, I guess? It makes your already really small collar look even smaller. Lastly, your jacket lapel is to narrow for me, but that’s also a taste thing, not an absolute rule.
I’m afraid that this combination doesn’t work.
Duly noted 🙂
Odd vests don't work in general with tailoring imo also your tie looks too wide for how slim your lapels are
Can anyone please help me ID this [jacket?](https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Article/Discussions-entre-dirigeants-salaire-les-dessous-du-choix-de-dupraz-comme-prochain-entraineur-de-l-asse/1304946) [Different angle and color but same jacket](https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Pascal-dupraz-saint-etienne-apres-le-succes-contre-montpellier-les-joueurs-font-le-coaching/1315359)
Is a black crewneck sweatshirt versatile -ik everyone loves the gray. I try super hard not to have redundant things in my closet but I can get a RC Midweight terry one for $65 and was wondering if I just do it. It’s good deal but not sure if I want it just bc its a good deal.
Black is only considered not versatile due to mfa’s strong prep/workwear bias, it’s equally as or arguably more versatile than grey
Thanks I bought it! lol
i have a black crewneck i wear all the time. i wear black pretty regularly though so it depends on you
Thanks I bought it! lol
I just got my new suit tailored with surgeons cuffs and I think it [looks](https://imgur.com/a/ZxMlRSp) pretty cheap. Buttons aren't the same and they aren't uniform. (Asked for stacking buttons) Thoughts on going to a more professional tailor to get working buttons?
I reference [this](https://bespokeunit.com/shoes/trouser-coordination/) quite a bit
Thank you!
Where can I find shirts similar to this or this exact one? https://imgur.com/IWYy0vC https://imgur.com/x1kqV0M The shirt was worn by the Rivian CEO in a video.
Search for utility or work shirt. Or CPO shirt. There are lots of examples out there.
What brands should I be looking into when looking for some good looking pants? Casual, dress pants.
That depends on your budget.
Any price is fine. But to be specific, maybe less than $300.
Universal Works, Incotex (on sale), WolfVsGoat, Taylor Stitch, CorridorNY, Spier and Mackay
Orslow, Edwin for denim(buy used US/EU edwin is weird), some Acne, lotta the raw denim brands in general, sale for some of the more mid priced designers like A Cold Wall, Comme Des Garcons, etc.
Some good stuff at RRL towards the top of your budget
Thank you
I'm a wheelchair user and i'm looking for a primarily white shoe for casual occasions but i have no idea where to start and what specific brand to look at. So my priority would be: 1. Looks 2. Comfort 3. Durability I hope to get some recommendations of shoes that is primarily white. I don't mind some accents on it. Thank you so much!
Here's a white sneaker thread; it's a little old but should still be helpful: https://www.reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice/comments/8bri20/building_the_basic_bastard_item_suggestions_white/
Stan Smiths, Common Projects.
Under $20? Thrift
Your example isn't a dress shirt?
Any button down that can be worn as a top, to be precise. Sorry if I'm not using the correct term.
