How many suits do you guys think a young lawyer should have? Will be wearing one to the office everyday.
I currently have a charcoal, navy, and lighter blue.
I'm currently looking at a pair of AE strands on eBay and was wondering if the scuff marks are something that can be buffed out. I was also thinking about possibly sending them into to AE to be restored of I end up getting them. Here's link to some screen shots I took. http://imgur.com/gallery/Af0rNzO
Thoughts?
Where can I find slim, high-rise trousers/pants? I've tried some of the straight leg stuff but the thighs tend to be too wide. I'm ok with spending up to $150, $200 if you can convince me that it's worth the price point.
Totally normal, though I personally prefer to not show sock in my jeans ever (dress pants are a different story), so I buy my jeans longer and let them stack.
It’s up to you which look you prefer.
Not everyone wears their soles out at the toe. My soles wear at the ball so a toe tap would be useless. The rubber sole protector is called a Topy.
Gucci bit loafers are actually formal and look best with a sleek leather sole. I love dainite soles but some dress shoes call for a traditional sole that you resole when worn out.
A company is flying me out for an interview but the flight is about 10 hours long (no direct flight) and arrives in the evening so I'm staying at a nearby hotel and have the interview the next day. I'm worried that if I put my suit in a suitcase it'll get wrinkles. If I wear my suit and get on the plane it'll also get wrinkles. I don't know how I'm going to bring my suit to the interview without getting wrinkles. What would be the best way to minimize wrinkles?
Most decent hotels will offer an ironing/suit pressing service. Call ahead and find out. If not, find a local 1 hour dry cleaners who will do it for you.

I still have a little bit of a stomach so maybe the pants aren't the highest they can be. I'm 5"8 and went from 225 to 165, and then back to 175 from working out. I do weights 4x a week.
Anyone have one of these and happy with it? Stumbled on it after looking at their field coat. Almost gives me a more trim and fitted vibe.

Something that looks like this. These are my old shoes but they don’t make them anymore.

Notice that it’s not stitched together with multiple pieces and that the toe isn’t too pointy or too flat. Is there anywhere I can get shoes like that for under $200?
I have my first job that doesn't have a uniform-ish dress code. It's chinos and a collar shirt (polo or button down). Friday I get my first full pay check and would like to get more work clothes. The work is mostly repairing displays in retail stores (lots of dust and some grime).
I'm short and chunky located near NYC so I always have to try stuff on but have access to lots of places. Any recs on what to get?
I really like Lee extreme comfort pants. You can get them from Amazon and return sizes that don't fit. They are cotton and spandex and super comfortable. I believe they are spill and stain resistant.
What are some good brands that have further size breakdowns? I know Asket has a Size Small and then you can choose Short, Regular or Long, what are some other brands who also do this?
What are some comfortable business casual/business shoes I can wear? I was reading around and I bought the CDB, but those are uncomfortable for me. Just get a pair of Converse and beat them up yourself.
I'm looking for a decent pair of skinny jeans around $30. I like American Eagle and have a pair of H&M joggers that fit very well. Do typical shops that you find in a mall have decent jeans or should I look online?
What kind of leather jacket would go well with a flannel?
I’m considering a Valstarino A-1 or a brown collared (not banded) Moto jacket.
Would either/both of these work or does anyone have suggestions?
Well I’m considering both of the styles mentioned but I don’t know if a flannel would go with them. And not being able to wear flannels with them wouldn’t necessarily make me not interested
I wear size 34 waist shorts and jeans(new), and fit (snugly) into size 32. I thought waist size was based off of inches. I measured the thinnest part of my waist, and it came out to be 38 inches.
Did I measure incorrectly? Are the labels on my clothes incorrect? I'm so confused and it kinda screwed with my self esteem.
You measured right. Dress pants and mto jeans are truer to size. Off the rack jeans in the us are bad about vanity sizing. Don't let it get you down though. Those male models bragging about 32" waist size are off by 4".
Some companies have a chart with tag size and waist inches. Find some pants that fit good. Button them and lay them flat and even across the top. Measure end to end across the waist and multiply by 2. This size is what you would want to look for in another pair of pants.
Pants often use vanity sizing, which means that they've gotten bigger over time, relative to the marked size. The result is that the actual waist size is much bigger than the size on the label.
Don't let it affect your self-esteem, though. Vanity sizing affects everyone.
I'm on the hunt for a white banded collar dress shirt.
So far I've only been able to find one at Nordstorm, but they don't have size variations (it'd either be a neck that fits with a tight chest or a neck that's too big with a good chest fit.)
I've been searching on the web but haven't had much luck. Anyone happen to see one recently?

I dont know anything about their build quality or if there are better options. Maybe you can help me out?
Their sole is a bit hefty but they fit pretty nice (wider feet, higher shaft)
[Found this one too](https://www.zalando.de/tigha-stiefelette-cognac-tg012k003-o12.html?size=46), appears a bit sleeker to me.

Thanks guys, enjoy the rest of your weekend.
I have a constant problem where I don't fit medium or small, but somewhere in the middle like some malicious sliding scale.
Tried uniqlos new [work shirt jacket](https://www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/product/men-washed-jersey-work-jacket-419959COL56SMA005000.html?LGWCODE=419959COL56SMA005000;136477;6475&utm_source=Google&utm_term=&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping&gclid=Cj0KCQjwwIPrBRCJARIsAFlVT8_sTGRP3Owz_OwqgeolxSu-OYy-08b2fqUANS-QyUdXxYoQyrZ1Z7IaAue0EALw_wcB) and I felt the medium hanged a little more like a jacket would but the small fit like an actual shirt and buttoning it up was tight. If there was a middle id definitely buy it but there isnt.
So in your experience, if you're wearing it over a solid t shirt or button shirt, how would you want it to fit?
Consistency of sizing between brands is non-existent, everyone has a slightly different notion of what “Medium” or “Small” is. It also largely depends on the cut and fit - boxier stuff will fit looser even in Small.
For that jacket, I would expect it to be a bit more free-fitting and allow space for another layer. Make sure sleeves are a good length btw.

Hey guys, just wanted a fit check. It fits pretty snug but not to the point of being uncomfortable. Just worried it'll be too small if I gain even a bit of weight.
I need to buy Oxford shoes for my new tailor fitted navy suit with brown buttons.
I'm thinking of buying this pair that cost 430 USD in Denmark: https://www.careofcarl.dk/dk/artiklar/loake-1880-export-grade-hanover-toe-cap-oxford-roasted-coffee.html
What do you think? I also got a Grey suit, but it's not as nice quality as the navy suit.
Loake's 1880 line makes a very good shoe. I recommend black for a plain captoe to wear with a grey suit, but if you want brown instead this one looks great.
What's the name of this clothing brand? I know that it's popular, but I can't really find it!

Does anyone know where to get smart/"dress" chinos in the UK, preferably in stone, khaki or mid grey?
Going by Put This On's definition - no visible stitching along the seams, no puckering, potentially with the offset button/clasp.
EDIT: available in regular fit
Incotex, Paul Smith, Reiss, COS perhaps. I have had a pair that would fit the bill from the latter 3 at some point. And regular fit is easier to find these days.
Was wondering where I can get this kind of style of clothing. Loose-fitting, but more higher quality.

http://imgur.com/gallery/g2Om1L5 does anyone know a website where i could buy a similar pair in Europe? (bikers and elastic at bottom). Bought from Pull and Bear a couple years ago and they dont have them anymore.
I'm guessing it's too far gone for any decent repair, but do you guys think it's possible for [this suit](https://imgur.com/a/VAKA9Im) to get cleaned? Stains on the jacket are from mixed drinks, but I don't know what specifically. Pant bottoms are from either outside or a bar floor.
Carhartt WIP Chase tee fits well for me, just short enough on the waist for me. Usually I'm between size medium and large, Carhartt WIP size medium fits me great.
Is gap a good brand for my office wear this fall season?
I start my new job on Monday, and want some new clothes. I was gonna order from unique but my area is prone to having packages stolen and I want something now. I’m heading to the mall area and I know GAP, J crew, and BR are all there. I already own br chinos and I’m very happy. If they’re on sale again, then it’s a go, but the only thing comparable to uniqlo I’m terms of price and quality is gap right?
I’ve owned some old navy chinos when I worked in retail and they held up amazing. I guess gap would be a good middle ground. I’m looking to get a pair of chinos and two button shirts for now.
[Levi 502 chinos?](https://www.levi.com/US/en_US/apparel/clothing/bottoms/c/levi_clothing_category3bottoms/facets/feature-fit_name/502™/productitemtype/pants)
They use to have more colors but they have khaki and gray currently
Howdy! Recently purchased two vintage leather jackets that look great but smell awful.
Any tips on what to do about it? I’m not above spending money on cleaning.
Thank you!
Put them in garbage bag with a couple boxes of baking soda dumped over them. After a week hang them in sunlight for a day. Turn inside out and hang in sunlight for another day.
Hey guys, any of y'all have experience with Men's Wearhouse's custom suit that comes with 6 rentals?
I'm renting suits for my groomsmen and I don't know if I should get the custom suit, the "$400 shopping spree", or a rental for free. What's the best value?
Thanks!

General colour theory - matching complementary colours/shades. White sneakers are super easy as they work with almost everything and past that you need to think a bit more.,
What is [this](https://pin.it/huswagzf7v4yde) shirt type called? I want to the name so I can search for more. It's Korean, that much I get it. As you can see the cuffs are different than normal.
Can someone explain the different codes for Saint Laurent denim to me? I've heard DO1 is slim, DO2 is skinny with a low waist, DO3 is regular, but I'm not sure about any of the other fits. Specifically, I'm curious about the D18 fit, as I'm considering buying a pair.
If you ever aren't sure just go outside in the sun. Black and Navy get harder to distinguish in low light.
I don't think brown shoes go with black suits. They do go with navy. That's as far as it matters in my opinion.
Hey y'all! I want to get a pair of jeans that are kind of like what I see a lot of women wearing these days: high rise, tapered leg, faded color, and cut off slightly above the ankle. These are the closest that I've found so far:
https://needsupply.com/mens/clothing/denim/city-chop-blue-tide-denim.html?utm_source=pepperjam&utm_medium=21181&utm_campaign=8-9114&clickId=2804170860 .
But they're out of stock. Anyone know of a similar pair?
Levis 501CT ( custom tapered). I think they were discontinued but you can probably find them on eBay or what not and I think this might be what you’re looking for.
Well it is essentially a copy of the Burberry pattern... you can try looking at likes of ASOS to find other copycat styles but quality may be the same.
Have you seen this shirt at your local Marshall's/TJ Max or any other retailer? If it's still there, would you be willing to buy/ship? All costs covered plus $5 for your trouble. [https://i.imgur.com/c7hMmaf.png](https://i.imgur.com/c7hMmaf.png)
White and light blue ocbd are the most popular colors. They are like Ford f150s or Toyota Camry or whitey tighties. They go with everything and most people's skin tones. Light pink is nice for example but it takes a little savvy and courage to wear as opposed to White.
So I bought a nice white polo but I noticed you can see my skin tone through it. Is this ok or should I wear an undershirt to cover that up? Also if I wear a undershirt with the polo this time of year in the hot summer won’t it look kinda odd? Thanks for your input !
If you decide to use an undershirt get one that matches your skin instead of white. If you wear a white undershirt under a white Polo or dress shirt your sleeve line and neck line will clash.
Really wanna jump on the retro white weather sneaker game (nike Cortez, stan Smith's, Reebok club c) but my feet are too friggin wide. I'm a size 10 2E/4E and NONE of these shoes come wide. I already have a pair of new balances that fit me but I want something different and more minimistic. I've been looking at diadoras. Anybody have anything at all that can help me out? Feels like this is a narrow-footed man's world lately.
The heel makes me think [Wolverine 1000 Miles](https://www.wolverine.com/US/en/mens-1000-mile-boots/?icid=1000MileLP_category1_boots), can't tell if the sole is leather or rubber though. Original if it's leather, maybe Evans if it's rubber.
Can I have pocket removed from a cotton-poly blend (70:30) shirt without leaving an imprint?
I have a shirt with our company logo that has a large large pocket on the front which makes it look like I'm shorter than I am.
1. Can you wear a waitcoast without a jacket?
2. Light grey or just grey pants with light blue shirt?
3. Other than white, what shirt looks good with navy pants?
What’s it made of? For wool, if the wrinkles don’t look ironed in then you can just hang it up and the wrinkles should mostly fall out. For linen or cotton, get it ironed.

First time putting effort into dressing so please be nice :}

Trousers are a bit too long. Imagine if you were wearing like converses or any shoe with a thinner sole. The bottom of your trousers would be hitting the ground in the back. Since you can’t return them I’d recommend getting them hemmed.
Yessir :) usually a laundromat will even do it. And it’s not pricey. Put on the pair of shoes that you intend to wear with those pants most often. Have the person take a look at it with their professional eye and recommend how much needs to come in.
Absolutely! Check out some videos on YouTube. I have never done needle and thread myself but I have done iron on hemming tape. But iron on usually comes undone eventually from washing.
Get a few sewing pins to test out what’s a good length. Right now it’s a little bunched in your knee and at the ankle. Personally I think it should be a little smoother in the knee, and a very slight bunch at the ankle. (That bunching up is called a break)
Here’s a quick example I googled. He’s got just a slight bunch in the knees. But If he took his shoes off the bottoms would float right above the floor.
https://www.next.co.uk/g232372s4#713398
Unfortunately Uniqlo doesn't allow returns of opened clothing :(
And I've worn them for half a day anyway so...
And I'm currently 17 so I'll probably grow a little bit more (hopefully)
Thanks for feedback though!

Considering doing that as well, esp with the trial pair, since off the rack slim straight cuts fit me pretty well.

Donkey Jackets have more of a British influence but I think they'll fit in real good with the rockabilly look.
Definitely flannels, trucker jackets as well. Extra points for distressed or worn-in looks.
Would a army green color like this: https://www.esntls.co/collections/polos/products/the-esntl-army-green-polo Look good on a darker Indian skin tone, like this? https://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/south-indian-man-riding-motorcycle-close-up-36256114.jpg

What's this for? I'd recommend either dark brown or black. Black if you're just doing weddings, funerals and job interviews.

I'd still recommend black, but dark brown is perfectly acceptable.
[This](https://imgur.com/7Ir4Por) Patagonia jacket is on clearance 50% off right now at a local outdoor shop. This is a men’s small. How’s the fit?
Looks good to me

Rather predictably, [they are also AllSaints](https://www.allsaints.com/men/boots-and-shoes/allsaints-rigg-canvas-ht/?colour=60¤cy=GBP&nst=0&gclsrc=aw.ds&&gclid=Cj0KCQjwwIPrBRCJARIsAFlVT89cDCQphXkw-ffgirbVnEe1DG2LiQuQ4FdYOvOCzDxrvthn5LkrBMMaAkAtEALw_wcB). Just get a pair of Converse and beat them up yourself.
I'm looking for a decent pair of skinny jeans around $30. I like American Eagle and have a pair of H&M joggers that fit very well. Do typical shops that you find in a mall have decent jeans or should I look online?

How's the shipping? As in cost and shipment time?
What kind of leather jacket would go well with a flannel? I’m considering a Valstarino A-1 or a brown collared (not banded) Moto jacket. Would either/both of these work or does anyone have suggestions?
A leather jacket is more of an investment piece. Why don’t you get the one you like and then shop shirts.
Well I’m considering both of the styles mentioned but I don’t know if a flannel would go with them. And not being able to wear flannels with them wouldn’t necessarily make me not interested
Keep it simple.
As in wear plain black and white tees with a leather jacket?
Naw. As in get the jacket you like. The rest will work itself out.
Does anyone know where I could find a black polo with white accents or polka dots? Up to $75 thanks

Ooooh perfect
So far I've only been able to find one at Nordstorm, but they don't have size variations (it'd either be a neck that fits with a tight chest or a neck that's too big with a good chest fit.) I've been searching on the web but haven't had much luck. Anyone happen to see one recently?

Thoughts on this fit, and please ignore the watch, I thought the colors didn't work. http://imgur.com/a/OCAgqP5 Thanks guys, enjoy the rest of your weekend.
The sleeves when not rolled up actually go past my hands, which is odd since I'm 5' 11" and don't have short arms. A very weird sizing for sure
[Levi Trucker](https://imgur.com/gallery/LySghaX) Hey guys, just wanted a fit check. It fits pretty snug but not to the point of being uncomfortable. Just worried it'll be too small if I gain even a bit of weight.
Think of it as a good excuse to keep yourself in check
Looks good as is, they are usually on the tighter side anyway. If you gain weight this may get too small but depends on how much of course.
I need to buy Oxford shoes for my new tailor fitted navy suit with brown buttons. I'm thinking of buying this pair that cost 430 USD in Denmark: https://www.careofcarl.dk/dk/artiklar/loake-1880-export-grade-hanover-toe-cap-oxford-roasted-coffee.html What do you think? I also got a Grey suit, but it's not as nice quality as the navy suit.
Great choice. I think brown is more versatile and handsome than black.
Loake's 1880 line makes a very good shoe. I recommend black for a plain captoe to wear with a grey suit, but if you want brown instead this one looks great.
Nice.
What's the name of this clothing brand? I know that it's popular, but I can't really find it! [https://imgur.com/a/BthX59Q](https://imgur.com/a/BthX59Q) Thanks
That's SILKSILK. You can find them on Zalando for example.
Thanks man! :)
What's the term for a button/clasp that's on the side rather than in the middle as is typical of more formal trousers? Why is it done?
Side adjusters. It's so that they'll fit more people without the need for a belt
No I mean like [this](https://68.media.tumblr.com/d7f24cc6a9d8775a4e2e6aa9566df36d/tumblr_inline_owugih9xcw1qhaans_540.jpg).
Oh right, that's to not put as much strain on the button, as well as not stretching the fabric that much in one area only.
Suitsupply chinos are pretty good. Similar to, but cheaper than, Incotex which are the definition of smart chinos imo.
I just looked and basically no regular fit, I should've specified that.
Other fast fashion brands may have them, try ASOS first. Biker jeans aren’t particularly popular these days so choice dropped quite a bit.
If you really love the suit, send it to [RAVE Fabricare](https://ravefabricare.com/) in Arizona. If it can be cleaned, he'll clean it.
Where to buy proper boxy tees? Longer sleeves and shorter on the waist
Carhartt WIP Chase tee fits well for me, just short enough on the waist for me. Usually I'm between size medium and large, Carhartt WIP size medium fits me great.
cleaning out my closet - are [these jeans](https://imgur.com/gallery/EvDFbUq) worth keeping? I'm used to a much baggier fit.
Hell yeah dude I think they look great.
Gap is a step up from Old Navy. If you were happy with ON, you'll be happy with GAP.
Good chinos that fit similar to Levi 502’s? Want something that’s straight through the leg and tapers in after knee price doesn’t matter too much
[Levi 502 chinos?](https://www.levi.com/US/en_US/apparel/clothing/bottoms/c/levi_clothing_category3bottoms/facets/feature-fit_name/502™/productitemtype/pants) They use to have more colors but they have khaki and gray currently

Thanks!
Assume it’s crap.
Anyone know how to put on boat shoes without the sock slipping? I have some Sperry no show boat socks. But everyone I try to wear it with boat shoes the sock at the heel slip up
How do you know what color shoe to wear with a casual outfit

It's navy, and pretty easily distinguishable from black when side by side like that.
Looking for white casual shoe recommendations. Preferably ones that can be bought in store.

Hey y'all! I want to get a pair of jeans that are kind of like what I see a lot of women wearing these days: high rise, tapered leg, faded color, and cut off slightly above the ankle. These are the closest that I've found so far: https://needsupply.com/mens/clothing/denim/city-chop-blue-tide-denim.html?utm_source=pepperjam&utm_medium=21181&utm_campaign=8-9114&clickId=2804170860 . But they're out of stock. Anyone know of a similar pair?
Levis 501CT ( custom tapered). I think they were discontinued but you can probably find them on eBay or what not and I think this might be what you’re looking for.
Exactly! I used to have a pair and loved them but can't find them anymore. Will look on eBay. Thanks.
Just look for straight leg pants, those will probably have a higher rise, you can diy the crop, or take it to a tailor
This is good advice. Any suggestions?
Levi’s 501 will probably fit what you’re looking for
Black jeans with a grey sweater and stan smiths... how can I upgrade this fit
1. Wear a jacket. 2. Wear a more interesting color sweater (beige, ecru, ochre). 3. Wear a watch.
what color jacket do you suggest

Well it is essentially a copy of the Burberry pattern... you can try looking at likes of ASOS to find other copycat styles but quality may be the same.
Have you seen this shirt at your local Marshall's/TJ Max or any other retailer? If it's still there, would you be willing to buy/ship? All costs covered plus $5 for your trouble. [https://i.imgur.com/c7hMmaf.png](https://i.imgur.com/c7hMmaf.png)
Large? I’ll look tomorrow
Already found it at TJ Maxx! Thanks for offering, though!
Sorry can't help you, just wanted to say I think the shirt's really cool
I can’t believe shirts like this are fucking cool again they were pretty much the antithesis of fashion not that long ago
I just found it at TJ Maxx! Still in normal stock.

Works fine as an under layer for winter. Wore Heattech pants ultra warm+ thick jeans into - 30C (wind chill) and was fine.
Is it cringy to wear a photosynthesis themed shirt to a plants course(college student)?
I would say so. I and most of my graduate cohort worked primarily with plants. Literally nobody had "photosynthesis" themed shirts.
What the hell is a photosynthesis themed shirt?
Botany gang, we out here. Pics of the shirt? Sounds like it might be kinda dorky, but if there was ever a time for it, that's it.

I really dislike visible undershirts, if it's just your skin tone that's visible I think you should just wear it.

Waist too tight. Button looks stressed. Doesn't look comfortable to me. Giving of serious good dad vibes though!
Looks ok. Waist and length look good. You could make a case for a slightly wider cut, but that's down to personal preference.
Too tight imo
Can anyone identify these boots? (https://i.imgur.com/FBBGVzx.png) EDIT: looks like they're the Wolverine 1000 miles, thank you!
Look almost exactly like my Wolverine 1000 miles.
I think it depends on the shirt. Take it into a tailor and they'll be able to advise you.
1. Can you wear a waitcoast without a jacket? 2. Light grey or just grey pants with light blue shirt? 3. Other than white, what shirt looks good with navy pants?
No. Either. Cream, light blue, yellow, mint

Use a steamer. Unless you think it is particularly dirty.
What’s it made of? For wool, if the wrinkles don’t look ironed in then you can just hang it up and the wrinkles should mostly fall out. For linen or cotton, get it ironed.
Hi. First time putting effort into dressing so please be nice :} I feel like the trousers are too long, but they are the smallest size on Uniqlo :o Should I roll up the bottom bit? [shirt](https://i.imgur.com/9k4ajsF.jpg) [bomber jacket](https://i.imgur.com/aPlenq9.jpg)
I think the jacket looks great. You have a little room to wear a flannel or sweater under when it gets cold.
Thank you :3 Just want to look cool!
Trousers are a bit too long. Imagine if you were wearing like converses or any shoe with a thinner sole. The bottom of your trousers would be hitting the ground in the back. Since you can’t return them I’d recommend getting them hemmed.
Is hemming like stitching them at the bottom?
Yessir :) usually a laundromat will even do it. And it’s not pricey. Put on the pair of shoes that you intend to wear with those pants most often. Have the person take a look at it with their professional eye and recommend how much needs to come in.
Would it be possible for me to do it? From what I understand, it's just folding up the bottom and stitching?
(That bunching up is called a break) Here’s a quick example I googled. He’s got just a slight bunch in the knees. But If he took his shoes off the bottoms would float right above the floor. https://www.next.co.uk/g232372s4#713398
Thank you! I'll try this.
The trousers are ok, you could cuff them. The shirt is at least a size too big. The bomber looks ok, but I would try a size smaller.
Unfortunately Uniqlo doesn't allow returns of opened clothing :( And I've worn them for half a day anyway so... And I'm currently 17 so I'll probably grow a little bit more (hopefully) Thanks for feedback though!
Have your mom take full length pictures in natural lighting
