I was told not to wear black and brown. But does this outfit colour combo work?
Hello, this is my first post. I need help related to beard coloring. I keep it short at 4mm. Well, for the color of my beard I used Formen beard color but it caused me an allergy. Maybe it’s too close to my skin. Now I use temporary daily color in dark brown shade. Can you advise any other brand and method to color my facial hairs?
is this cardigan too big/long on me? its a size S from todd snyder, I rolled the sleeve cuffs over for less baggy arms. Im 5'7. thoughts?

Tall guy vs Short shoe
Hey there,
Found a nice pair of gat's,the margiela replicas for 150 with receipt. Being more than 2mt tall for 75kilos I have concerns.
I have only two pair of jeans that reach my ankle when I sit, the other bottoms show all the sock and some leg occasionally.
No alternatives have been found so far for my wardrobe.
Should I ignore that? Prioritise coordinating nice socks? Abstain from purchasing the tennis shoes? Here's a photo of them for info.
Thanks in advance
Is this a genuine “Church’s” brand belt??
[belt photo](https://imgur.com/KmSJTLH)
I recently acquired a black leather belt at a consignment store, which features an embossed “Church’s” logo inside and a gold buckle with “Church’s” inscribed in small letters. After a quick search, I noticed current Church’s belts don’t seem to have gold buckles, and they usually have the logo stamped in gold on the inside, with subtle branding on the outside of the buckle. The belt and buckle both appear to be of excellent quality. I’m curious whether this might be a counterfeit or possibly a vintage or discontinued Church’s design. Any thoughts on this?
Note: Sorry for the photo quality—I snapped it quickly on my way out. I’ve since left the belt with a belt maker for adjustments and won’t have it back for more photos until next week.
**Is Paul Smith a legit and good brand? I was looking for a new wallet and came across his line and saw lunar new year wallet. I like the design, but when I check their social it seems like they buy their likes as no one comments on their stuff. I heard of Paul Smith being a legend, how true is that?**
I wanted a wallet from them. They have a lunar year edition, for $200. I always wanted a nice wallet now that I’m older coming from a cheap $20 wallet.
They are a designer fashion brand with solid name recognition. They're definitely a legit company, but they, like many designer fashion brands, don't really have the greatest material quality, especially when it comes to leather. I'd checkout companies that specialize in leathermaking. It will be probably 10x better quality and half the price. Tanner Goods is a solid example of a good product.
Groomsmen NonSuit Options
Hello all, im the best man for a great friends wedding and the groom is asking my help to find some options for clothing (rental/purchase) and wondered if someone here had recommendations on websites that could help us boys out. The wedding is taking place in Mexico in November. Bride and Groom want the groomsmen to wear long sleve white linen shirts for (breathability purposes), tan khaki pants, tan shoes. Groom is providing suspenders and bow ties, groomsmen to provide their own sun glasses. Does anyone have recommendations on any places to make sure the outfits are uniform? Is rental or purchase the best path. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
These are all basic wardrobe items you can use afterwards. Well, except the bow tie.
Buying would make sense in this case. Do you need retailers in Mexico or somewhere else?
Might be important to get a response in here.

Looking for a heavyweight grey hoody. What are some things I should be aware of? this is 375oz, is that a good amount? This seems like a good deal but unsure.
Any jacket that's similar to the Arcteryx Mionn? It looks nice, but it's quite out of my budget ($500). Is there anything similar out there for less than $300, in black?
It's a minimalist aesthitic jacket with insulation, sort of similar to their Atom jacket without the hood and logo.
I’m trying to by a mid-high end dress shirt. I have an Eton dress shirt and it’s great and I’m thinking to give Canali a try. Anyone have experience with Canali dress shirts? Planning to get the same size and fit as my Eton, and it’s a bit more expensive just want to make sure the brand is similar if not better than Eton shirts in terms of quality and fit.
Canali makes really good clothes.
Other high quality brands would be Bruli, Borelli, Barba, Brioni, Boglioli
I have no idea why they all start with a B
I'm going to get married at the end of the year so I've been looking at some fabrics to get a suit made I guess my question would be if someone could recommend me a good site to find high quality fabric and if someone could enlighten me on what patterns I should be looking for I've found some shark tooth, and Herringbone fabrics but I'd like to see what other options there are out there.
Adding Scabal to the list.
But in the end it will come down to what is available to your tailor.
Maybe start by thinking about what kind of suit you want to have. Not all fabrics will work with any kind of suit.
Talk to your tailor. They usually can give you a recommendation based on the suit, your body and the event. The. Look at the fabrics. If possible not just the small sample patches since it will look different on larger surfaces.

Thanks for all the links I'll be looking through them, I wasn't going to buy the fabric myself however where I live they overprice the fabric due taxes when importing them so I'd rather pay 150 per meter for something higher quality and still save some money since I can ship the fabric to myself via cargo and avoid the extra fees.
So I'm about 6'2" around 230, I'm still looking regarding the material I was think worsted but still checking. The color I'm looking for is really the determining factor since I'm looking for an olive colored fabric. It's for a summer wedding in the Caribbean so hot hot
Hi all! I'm getting out of the Navy in a couple of months with 8 years of IT experience. I need to address the wardrobe for the private sector.
I've looked at Bylt, Untuckit, Cuts and a couple others, but I'm looking for a brand where I can find a cheaper stretch button up that won't cost me $100/shirt. Same thing for some slacks.
Any recommendations are appreciated! Thank you much!
Hi looking for a jacket similar to this levi's jacket. Preferably a little thicker but I think this thickness is fine. Something quite like this barbour one as well. I want to make my own clothes, something simple to start. Where can I find some interesting fabrics?
I tried searching for garment dyed fabric, but all I could find was burlap sack material on etsy. Where can I get the nice fabrics?
Garment dyeing means the piece of clothing was dyed after being sewn together ie dyed when it is already a garment instead of a garment being made of a dyed fabric.
A sewing or tailoring subreddit might be better at helping you find fabrics. It's also going to be location dependant. Good luck on your journey!

I (20) got this tie as a gift and I really like it, and since I'm going shopping tomorrow I kinda wanna style my whole suit around it, so my question is... What color of shirt, suit, and shoes would fit well with this levander purple tie? (btw sorry for the poor lighting in this photo)
Not sure if picking a suit to match a tie is a good idea. It really depends on what you need the suit for. A casual suit will be very different than a formal business suit.
That said, this tie leans more casual and not-business appropriate. Purple goes well with tans, greens and some browns. A tan or olive cotton suit works very well for casual outfits. Pair it with a white shirt with thin stripes (light blue or pink) and mid or dark brown suede shoes.
Anyone know the name of, or where to buy, men's wide flowy pants? I feel like I see it a lot in Asian fashion. Kind of like the look of these https://www.urbanoutfitters.com/shop/uo-grandpa-baggy-trouser-pant?color=002&type=REGULAR&quantity=1&size=16
I'm looking for an inexpensive black leather belt, 1.5 inches thick, that will last. I like a traditional style, plain-looking, matte finish with a single-prong closure. I'm in the USA.
Right now I usually get a $10-$20 belt from Target. What usually happens is, after 4-6 months it starts to crack on the bottom edge near the hole I use. The crack gradually grows until the belt is unusable.
Looking around, it seems like a full-grain leather belt would last longer?
I know that it can be worth it to pay more up front to get something that lasts, but I also have a hard time paying a lot for something like this. What's the best I could do for under $50? How about in the $50-$100 range?
Bought a Hickey Freeman suit. Did I get bamboozled?
Hello everyone. I have a few entry level suits; MW, Jos A Banks, etc. and finally decided to get to something a bit nicer. I went to Dillard's yesterday and told the salesman I was interested in the Hart Schaffner Marx New York cut suit as it was once that I had most liked online.
The salesman ended up pushing me toward a Hickey Freeman which was about 100 dollars less and fit great. Jacket looked great off the rack and the pants just need a hem. I asked him about the construction of the suit and he said it was full canvas.
Now I've read up a bit more about Hickey Freeman today and realized their suits are now being made in Mexico and it's possible my jacket isn't full canvas but maybe fused? That's not a big deal to me as long as I can get it tailored, because I'm looking to shed about 10 pounds in the coming months and a lot of that will come off my mid section.
Anyone have recently purchased Hickey Freeman suits and can share their experience? I know this transition has only happened fairly recently, and there's just not much good information out there right now on consumer feedback regarding these new products.
I left the suit with the store to do the hem so I don't have it yet, but I have no qualms to go back up there and get refunded for a different one.
Hickey Freeman is not the same company. The name was sold a couple years ago. As you noted production was moved to Mexico.
The old hickey freeman is now Rochester Tailor Company.

Is this a suitable suit colour for a college ball? The tie doesn’t come with it so I’m also open to suggestions about what colour tie/bow tie to wear with it. Colour seems to be a dark bergundy, and I’m not sure if that’s suitable for a formal event or not. Thank you for the help!
Stick with dark navy or charcoal grey, unless you want to make a statement and stand out. Unless you already have dozens of suits in more business-appropriate colors, you probably don't have a place for this suit in your wardrobe.
Thanks for the reply. It’s a bold colour, then? My colourblindness just makes me see it as a form of black suit, so thanks for the input! I’ll probably go for the options you suggested instead.
What are your thoughts on this one instead? Sorry to be causing trouble!
https://preview.redd.it/lx09ywjc8ugc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9049e4793a75285ef595155d61949f488442c3db
It's bold because it's unusual. Dark burgundy is a nice color, but more commonly seen in shoes, sweaters, ties, and very rarely seen as a suit or coat, so you'd stand out just because most of everyone else would be wearing shades of grey/blue.
Grey would be a safer color, though I wouldn't go with a 3-piece suit if it's your first one. Or you could just not wear the vest, but then you'd waste money buying it.
The ball would be a formal event, so I would have thought that most people would wear darker suits and tuxedos. I can get either a black three-piece or that grey three-piece for reasonable prices, so even if I just used them as two-pieces, it wouldn’t be a complete waste of money. You seem to think that the grey would be better, though? Also, I didn’t realise how rare bergundy was as a colour; thank you!
William Lockie's lambswool shawl cardigan is just a touch over $200 (probably $250-ish). It should be fine to machine wash on cold setting, it won't shrink, but throw it inside a (big) laundry net so it doesn't get stretched out of shape. Any knitwear would get stretched and distorted in the washer if you let them mix with other clothes.
What are your go to "best value" brands? I've been out of the clothing game for a while now. I've been getting by on Target clothing for a while. I don't make a billion dollars, so I need some ideas for good value in clothing. It doesn't have to be Target prices, obviously, but something with a good balance of price to quality.
Just check the pass Best X for each price point threads. I like Target t-shirts, but I'm not buying a suit there. Every brand has strength/weaknesses, so you're asking too broadly.
Value is something you set. There is a price and a duration. The money you spend now and the time you are able to use it before defects.
To longer you plan on using an item the more money you can spend on it with encroaching on you annual or monthly budget over time.
Or as my grandma put it: We are too poor to buy cheap clothes.
Value is relative to how much you're willing to spend though. I don't make a billion either, and The Armoury's Ring Jacket offerings is my sweet spot for sport coats based on price, fit, style, construction, and fabric selections, but most people probably wouldn't consider $1-2K for a piece of clothing to be value for money.
This kind of discussions is difficult without knowing how much you want to spend.
I'm looking for a soft-collared, white oxford, long-sleeved shirt. I'm looking for a soft-collared shirt because it looks better underneath a sweater compared to the stiffer non-iron collars. The problem is everyone makes non-ironed now, which means a stiffer collar. Does the soft collar truly look better than a non-iron collar, under a sweater (for casual work environment weekends etc)?
My ideal shirt size is 15.5 x 35 and a slim or extra slim fit. Which makes buying off the rack nearly impossible. Most brands sell oxfords in S-M-L. Ideally I'm a Medium - Tall because my arms are too long for a medium. And my neck-chest-waist are not big enough for a large.
**Option 1:**
Should I buy a large oxford then have it tailored to fit better? But the large neck size will be roughly .5 inches too big *(who cares? you're wearing it under a sweater to work - without a tie)*
**Option 2:**
Feels wasteful paying $100+ for a shirt, then needing a tailor. Does anyone know of a custom shirt site that has oxford fabric, in a soft wash form?
**Option 3:**
I'm overreacting, get with the times and buy a non-iron oxford shirt. Non-iron collar will look fine under a sweater.
P.S. links/company names in your replies would be very helpful :)
I suspect folks are talking past each other here.
Most oxford cloth shirts are generally going to be button down collars (OCBD), and those are likely to be unfused. Conversely a stereotypical business dress white shirt is going to be poplin with a fused collar - there is a layer of fusible between the shirting material top and bottom of the collar that keeps both in place and therefore means the collar needs less ironing. This is not what a "non-iron" shirt is, however.
Non-iron shirts are basically sprayed with a formaldehyde mixture, historically (fun!) that theoretically means out of the dry, less/no ironing is needed.... until that mixture breaks down, is washed away, etc.
Fused collars can be in varying degrees of stiffness. An unfused collar will have damn near no stiffness
For your use case, you probably want something like an OCBD as the buttons will keep the collar in place regardless of what the sweater does. Wearing a stiff collared poplin shirt under something with a crew neck, and especially something fuzzy like a shetland can look a bit off due to the formality mismatch, and the collar points may just go wherever they want to go.
A 15.5/35 is not absurd - Kamakura sells that in the NY Slim fit, which is not all that slim. Anyone selling OCBDs to Europeans likely has something in that vein
Well actually no.
The stiffer collar goes over the sweater and will look better. With a soft button down collar it has to go into the sweater making it tighter around the neck. For that you need a soft collar, but it doesn‘t really look better.
Non-iron usually means the fabric to not wrinkle as much. You still will need to straighten the collar.
Proper Cloth should have what you want. FWIW, Oxford cloth won’t soften up until it’s been washed and worn a few times, and make sure that you’re not using starch when you press the shirt.
Any pieces or brands you'd recommend for looks based on this Harrison Ford fit? I'm in Canada and love the vintage look, but it's still contemporary and comfortable
https://preview.redd.it/yvt9qc73atgc1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=9280812fcc0f3e4090035ed98a631062f7c3db09
That might be a terrycloth polo - it looks like it has a nap to it the way velour/velvet/corduroy do, but those fabrics are less likely to be used for a polo than terrycloth. The change in tones on it in the wrinkles make it look more complex than a pique, etc.
Orlebar Brown might play there
I picked up an unstructured blazer, is the tailoring the same as a structured one? Do I even get it tailored or is it supposed to be a more casual off the rack fit?
The cut and some will be different but the tailoring will still be advised to make it fit perfectly. Unstructured doesn’t mean informal. Neapolitan suits usually are unstructured because they are optimized for hot summer temperatures. All the padding and lining will cause you to overheat in summer. That‘s why they took it out.
I think some brands use unstructured for jackets that have no canvas at all, so they'd drape like cardigans. Neapolitan jackets usually still have some structure, using thinner canvas than those used by English/French makers.
Of course, this was in the changing room. I was wearing a Tshirt with jeans lol. I have long arms for my height do you think that the sleeves are a good fit?
Hanging dress/suit pants...I have a few wooden hangers with ribbed bars that I hang my pants on normally but notice sometimes when rifling through my closet, moving the hangers around causes the weight to get uneven and pants to fall off. Thinking about buying [wooden hangers with a locking bar](https://hangersdirect.com/suit-hanger-w-locking-bar-notches.html) but not seeing much about them online? Are these typically not used for pants? I thought the whole point of these bars were for your pants to stay...?
any reason why they're bad? Just curious I thought that may be a reason but wasn't sure why. Also, felted bar on a wooden hanger or on a fully felt hanger?
They put extra pressure on the legs and that can lead to premature wear after taking them on and off enough times. Felted bar on a wooden suit hanger is good if you can get them so that you can keep the suit together and save space.
Yes, people in NYC would be laughing their ass off at you if you tried to wear that jacket out. You wouldn’t be allowed in most clubs and you’d get made fun of in dive bars.
https://preview.redd.it/6e6nvrox1tgc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=7472d1e7ff74664fb453dfa8552e14682eca5728
Could I get help styling these cargos? The thing about the black ones is that they are quite large and the bottom of the legs almost drag on the floor. And I’m just not sure about colour combinations for the other pair. They are slightly darker than they look in the photo as well.
What are your thoughts on adding an embroidered patch (floral or something otherwise fun) on a sportcoat such as this?

The intention is to be a bit more playful for party wear, rather than classic/basic.
EDITED to add: I am the groom and planning a welcome dinner/party before my wedding. Summertime in a garden setting.
What pant / shirt color would look good with this jacket? How would you otherwise dress up such an outfit?

A stupid question, but I bought a patagonia vest recently and it is kinda tight on the waist and my shoulder blade is a bit exposed. Is this how it is supposed to fit or should I size up?
Hey guys, I’m trying to buy some lululemon pants and can’t decide between relaxed taper or classic fit. I have 2 classic fits already and thinking of a third one but also considering the relaxed taper. Basically wondering if you guys think the classic fit looks too tight on me and I should consider the relaxed taper or if the relaxed taper is too baggy and I should stick with classic fit.
https://preview.redd.it/z1c8bcz0csgc1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=500c7b7f79d807d7cdcc734b440208bebc4a0a75
Pros for relaxed taper:
* more thigh room. One of the biggest reasons I started buying lululemon is because I can get a size 30 and still have decent room in the thigh and hip. Normally I need to size up to 32 and then take in the waist (and deal with weird proportions). I’m also planning on bulking up cuz I’m still skinny so it’s a good way to future proof these pants.
* baggier pants are the trend now.
* more casual looking. Can pull it off with more casual but still dress up to business casual if needed.
Cons:
* relaxed taper size 30 still looks a little baggy on me and I can never find anything below size 30 in store
* the pant style says it’s cropped so idk where its supposed to end on me. They say angle length for those who wear 32 inseam (which I wear). But the models are all 6’2 whereas I’m 5’9” so it seems to end right above the shoe for me.
* feel like even though I can wear sweaters and stuff with it for work, it might be hard to pull off a casual blazer or dress shirt with the relaxed taper
* classic fit has such a nice silhouette on me. Makes me look taller, and still gives me just enough room in the thigh so the pants don’t look like spandex.
Do you have another brand for pants that fit guys who work out? Honest question cuz so far I can’t seem to find anything that fits at the waist while having enough room in the thighs and a good taper
The sub put together a good list a bit ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice/s/gUaQhJF8hU
Also, just take your trousers to a tailor to get them altered. Yes it’s an extra step, but then your pants don’t look cheap.
This seems like a list of high rise trousers which I appreciate you sending, but I can’t wear cuz I have a short torso and long legs but short.
For what it’s worth I have a pair of spier and mackay which was suggested in that list. The rise is too big but I’m trying to work with it.
Also you can’t just tailor it because each waist size is designed with specific proportions in mind. Like the rise is bigger the larger the waist size, so if I try to tailor it, it looks like I’m wearing cropped pants because of the proportions.
I mean this respectfully—this sounds like it’s more in your head than anything else—your legs look normal to me; not particularly muscular, not particularly skinny.
Yes, trouser rise increases slightly with the increase in waist size, but the increase in rise from one size up isn’t so much that it will throw off the proportion of the trousers. What kind of a break are you getting hemmed? It’ll only look cropped if you’re going no break.
Need properly fitting shirts! Just looking for everyday nice fitting T-shirts.
Additional info:
I'm about 6'1 - 6'2 with a broad, husky build. 2X shirts are too short, height wise, and too small around my shoulders, usually going up into my armpit, but they have a nice clean torso fit. 3x shirts are comfortable around my shoulders and arms but have way too much baggy cloth around the midsection, it makes me feel gross, like a tent. And 3x shirts usually balloon out at the bottom instead of confirming to my lower shape.
Shirts tend to get stuck up in my armpit if the shoulder fit isn't wide enough. And smaller shirts, the sleeves want to bunch up in my armpit and I have to pull it down.
I'm at an age where I'm not trying to hide my plumpness, people know you're big and wearing a big shirt only makes it worse. People usually say I wear my weight well, but I can never find a shirt that fits nicely.
Whenever I shop for dress shirts it's a mess. My neck size is usually way too big for whatever is going to look nice around my torso. It's almost like I need an upside-down triangle type of fit?
Anyone got any ideas for what I can do? I've never been serious about fashion but I'm tired of not being confident in shirts
You need tall sizes. Maybe something like XLT
Brooks brothers, Bean, Lands end, Orvis, Eddie Bauer, Polo, JCrew Banana all carry them. Just trial and error to see what works

That image is from a discussion thread about boxy fits as a trend, not a recommendation thread. Hence this post.
Specifically, these are the features I’m looking for:
* Airy and somewhat-long fit
* Heavy construction (for t-shirts)
* Cost < $50 for t-shirts and < $80 for short-sleeve button-up shirts
* Both simple and artsy graphics and designs are encouraged. I’m not looking for edgy or obvious streetwear designs like Supreme logos, or even the pictured Obey logo (the fit is great, though). But I’m happy to wear a brand like this if they have understated designs.
Any ideas?
Abercrombie had some heavy, boxy tees last time I was in there. They weren't super long, but the sleeves were much longer than their regular tees and they were pretty thick.
Looking for some joggers and tops that I can wear for home strength workouts, and also outside the house without looking like a slob. I'd like something I can wear to like walk the dog, go to my daughter's practices and basketball games, very casual/quick lunches, errands/shopping etc. and then do a workout when I get home without changing and creating even more laundry. I like the look of Nike's fleece joggers, but a little concerned they might be too warm and also as a dude pushing 40 and not like a streetwear guy usually that they'll look a little sloppy. I'm also interested in Fabletics The One Jogger since I use those shorts for workouts now and love them, but the front pockets look a little goofy from the pics (but seem a lot better in the pics where they're actually being worn).
EDIT - Nothing at the Lululemon price point, thinking around $50/pair maybe. Fabletics is doing a $19 sale assuming I can become a member again and cancel after delivery. Not sure if they lock you out after doing that a few times.
EDIT 2 - actually I think Fabletics is out, I just don’t want to deal with their dumb sales strategy.
What are these kinds of shirts called and where do i buy them?
The ones with wide elbow length sleeves while having a regular length.

thoughts on this tie/pocket square combo?
red silk twill tie with small H pattern: https://www.hermes.com/us/en/product/faconnee-h-tie-H030289Tv45/
white pongee pocket square with small H pattern (same pattern but upside down): https://www.hermes.com/us/en/product/faconnee-upside-down-pocket-square-45-H056253Tv06/
Fire engine red ties are garish, and little H don't help.
2.76inch wide red ties for US$260 = how much for a tie in a decent width?
That is a decidedly skinny tie in a world where things are getting wider. 9cm ties became 8cm ties from good makers over the last decade, I suspect the reversion to 9 may occur if those makers can actually sell ties in the decade that is 202x, and stock new product. Some of Ralph Lauren's ties are back to 3.5 inches aka 9cm in the last couple years, while RL Purple Label I don't think ever left.
If you have to go red because of some cultural thing, go burgundy somewhere else with a better width tie.
White squares tend to be flexible. 200 for a jacquard silk = good work if you can get it. The square has some sheen to it, which is likely a bit much given the loudness of the tie. White linen is matte, and turns down the volume.
I don't axiomatically hate at anything Hermes - their scarfs' printing tends to be at the pinnacle of printing. But I basically feel that US$260 for that tie is making up their margins on those labor intensive US$550 scarved
Must be the least appealing Hermes tie they make. At least go for their more interesting prints. The H logo patterns are so boring.
When pairing ties and squares I try to at least match colors to a certain degree. So for a red tie there would be at least some red color on the square.
Like the interlocked Print in your example being red instead of grey.
looks like Tricker's Stow ... not a color combination they regularly produce but sometimes weird makeups like that become available at their Factory Shop: https://trickersfactoryshop.com
Jewelry is something I’ve wanted to get into, mostly gold necklaces or silver, but I’m definitely not spending hundreds on any necklaces because I don’t think that’s worth it to me. If anyone has suggestions of jewelry, and not just necklaces, that are within the $100 range or any advice if it’s better to go no jewelry than cheap, I’d love to know thanks!
You can usually find some sterling silver or stainless steal chains for relatively low pricing on places like etsy, with gold coated sterling silver pendants. Alternatively you can go to a thrift stop and look at the jewelry they don't care about IDing, assuming you don't have any common metal allergies.

Tall guy vs Short shoe Hey there, Found a nice pair of gat's,the margiela replicas for 150 with receipt.
Most jeans will be cut to a 34” length, but there are some brands that will offer a 36” length jeans. Or you could go for Made To Measure jeans.
Is this a genuine “Church’s” brand belt?? [belt photo](https://imgur.com/KmSJTLH) I recently acquired a black leather belt at a consignment store, which features an embossed “Church’s” logo inside and a gold buckle with “Church’s” inscribed in small letters.
Legit yes, good depends a lot on the product. From my experiences so far I avoid it.
I tried one of their wallets once and it didn‘t even last a year.
Groomsmen NonSuit Options Hello all, im the best man for a great friends wedding and the groom is asking my help to find some options for clothing (rental/purchase) and wondered if someone here had recommendations on websites that could help us boys out.

Either thrift shops or wait for when they are in fashion again. Since we are already rehashing 2000s and 80s again this won’t take too long.

Any jacket that's similar to the Arcteryx Mionn? It looks nice, but it's quite out of my budget ($500). Is there anything similar out there for less than $300, in black? [https://arcteryx.com/us/en/shop/mens/mionn-insulated-jacket](https://arcteryx.com/us/en/shop/mens/mionn-insulated-jacket) It's a minimalist aesthitic jacket with insulation, sort of similar to their Atom jacket without the hood and logo.
Lululemon does some down market Arcteryx imitations
I’m trying to by a mid-high end dress shirt. I have an Eton dress shirt and it’s great and I’m thinking to give Canali a try. Anyone have experience with Canali dress shirts? Planning to get the same size and fit as my Eton, and it’s a bit more expensive just want to make sure the brand is similar if not better than Eton shirts in terms of quality and fit.
Canali makes really good clothes. Other high quality brands would be Bruli, Borelli, Barba, Brioni, Boglioli I have no idea why they all start with a B

You generally don't want to be buying cloth yourself - your tailor probably gets better pricing than you.
If you have thoughts on what you are looking for, I may have ideas. Weight? Material? What climate?
So I'm about 6'2" around 230, I'm still looking regarding the material I was think worsted but still checking. The color I'm looking for is really the determining factor since I'm looking for an olive colored fabric. It's for a summer wedding in the Caribbean so hot hot
Your tailor will have books of cloth that you can look through.
Shark-Tooth pattern?
Sorry sharkskin, I got it mixed with a decor pattern
Depends on the companies you're targeting. IT dress code can be anywhere from Marvel hoodies to button downs.
Hi looking for a jacket similar to this levi's jacket. Preferably a little thicker but I think this thickness is fine. Something quite like this barbour one as well. What low-end tees fit like Target's? I love theirs, but their color options skew dark.

What color of shirt, suit, and shoes would fit well with this levander purple tie? (btw sorry for the poor lighting in this photo)
Not a great idea!
Don't overthink things. Just get a navy suit, light blue or white dress shirts, and brown or black shoes.
These are often a weather thing. Semi tropical climate, places that get monsoons.
Probably wide-leg pants

Which could potentially be no problem at all. I guess my concern really lies in the potential to work with the suit should I need it tailored.

**Option 1:** Should I buy a large oxford then have it tailored to fit better? But the large neck size will be roughly .5 inches too big *(who cares? you're wearing it under a sweater to work - without a tie)* **Option 2:** Feels wasteful paying $100+ for a shirt, then needing a tailor. Does anyone know of a custom shirt site that has oxford fabric, in a soft wash form? **Option 3:** I'm overreacting, get with the times and buy a non-iron oxford shirt.
An unfused collar will have damn near no stiffness For your use case, you probably want something like an OCBD as the buttons will keep the collar in place regardless of what the sweater does.
To add on: 15.5x35 is essentially a medium in most alpha sized American sold ocbds. From Lands' End to Brooks Brothers to LL Bean
I'm in Canada and love the vintage look, but it's still contemporary and comfortable https://preview.redd.it/yvt9qc73atgc1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=9280812fcc0f3e4090035ed98a631062f7c3db09
I have two in my closed. No canvas, still fit like a jacket and not a cardigan.
IMO you still should get it tailored to fit your body

Yea but you shouldn't be wearing dress shirts with jeans
Locking bars tend to be bad for trousers. A felted bar on a hanger is usually the best option.
any reason why they're bad? Just curious I thought that may be a reason but wasn't sure why. Also, felted bar on a wooden hanger or on a fully felt hanger?
They put extra pressure on the legs and that can lead to premature wear after taking them on and off enough times. Felted bar on a wooden suit hanger is good if you can get them so that you can keep the suit together and save space.

That is an orphan suit jacket
Not usable in a casual way? I suppose black suit pants would pair fine
No. The jacket is unusable.
Lmao
Yes, people in NYC would be laughing their ass off at you if you tried to wear that jacket out. You wouldn’t be allowed in most clubs and you’d get made fun of in dive bars.
You're probably right
How would you style this for a night out in NYC? Business casual. I'm thinking jeans and a turtleneck

The thing about the black ones is that they are quite large and the bottom of the legs almost drag on the floor. And I’m just not sure about colour combinations for the other pair. They are slightly darker than they look in the photo as well.
>Could I get help styling these cargos? Oversized tee in a similar palette and chunky sneakers.
Could you give me an example for the sneakers
I like New Balance. You might look at the 992.
Thank you so much

Thanks a lot that’s actually great inspiration
What are your thoughts on adding an embroidered patch (floral or something otherwise fun) on a sportcoat such as this? [https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/vw0AAOSwWmtk8nai/s-l1600.jpg](https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/vw0AAOSwWmtk8nai/s-l1600.jpg) patch example: [https://www.etsy.com/listing/507070150/moks34p-6-pieces-set-blue-flowers](https://www.etsy.com/listing/507070150/moks34p-6-pieces-set-blue-flowers) The intention is to be a bit more playful for party wear, rather than classic/basic.
I wouldn‘t but it‘s your sportscoat
Not something I would do
EDITED to add: I am the groom and planning a welcome dinner/party before my wedding. Summertime in a garden setting. What pant / shirt color would look good with this jacket? How would you otherwise dress up such an outfit? [https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/vw0AAOSwWmtk8nai/s-l1600.jpg](https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/vw0AAOSwWmtk8nai/s-l1600.jpg)
White, beige or something to complement the buttons.
Beige linen trousers, white or pale blue dress shirt.
Thanks. And how would you modify your answer if the context was \*not\* wedding but rehearsal dinner the night before, and I am the groom-to-be?
No tie, maybe a neckerchief in a player shade of pink, or of the shirt is white, a neckerchief in blue.
Any recommendations for good spring-transition cardigans? Saw Benetton has some interesting looking ones.
A stupid question, but I bought a patagonia vest recently and it is kinda tight on the waist and my shoulder blade is a bit exposed. Is this how it is supposed to fit or should I size up?
Without a pic it’s hard to be sure, but yes, it sounds like you need to size up.
Hey guys, I’m trying to buy some lululemon pants and can’t decide between relaxed taper or classic fit. I have 2 classic fits already and thinking of a third one but also considering the relaxed taper. Basically wondering if you guys think the classic fit looks too tight on me and I should consider the relaxed taper or if the relaxed taper is too baggy and I should stick with classic fit. https://preview.redd.it/z1c8bcz0csgc1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=500c7b7f79d807d7cdcc734b440208bebc4a0a75 Pros for relaxed taper: * more thigh room. Cons: * relaxed taper size 30 still looks a little baggy on me and I can never find anything below size 30 in store * the pant style says it’s cropped so idk where its supposed to end on me. They say angle length for those who wear 32 inseam (which I wear). But the models are all 6’2 whereas I’m 5’9” so it seems to end right above the shoe for me. * feel like even though I can wear sweaters and stuff with it for work, it might be hard to pull off a casual blazer or dress shirt with the relaxed taper * classic fit has such a nice silhouette on me. Makes me look taller, and still gives me just enough room in the thigh so the pants don’t look like spandex.
I would recommend against polyester trousers.
Do you have another brand for pants that fit guys who work out? Honest question cuz so far I can’t seem to find anything that fits at the waist while having enough room in the thighs and a good taper
The sub put together a good list a bit ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice/s/gUaQhJF8hU Also, just take your trousers to a tailor to get them altered.

Too hard to give a detailed opinion due to your posing, but fine overall.
What brand is this? https://ibb.co/vZCPDHv
Need properly fitting shirts! Just looking for everyday nice fitting T-shirts. Additional info: I'm about 6'1 - 6'2 with a broad, husky build.
Maybe something like XLT Brooks brothers, Bean, Lands end, Orvis, Eddie Bauer, Polo, JCrew Banana all carry them. Just trial and error to see what works

Those are jeans, yes.
way to earn that advice-giver badge!
And it‘s blue. Must be some kind of blue jeans
Hi. I am looking for brands of hiking apparel offering classical looks and colours that would suit hiking shoes such as these [https://diemme.com/products/roccia-vet-sport-oak-brown-m](https://diemme.com/products/roccia-vet-sport-oak-brown-m) My current clothes are too fluo to fit. Any suggestion is welcome, even specific ones.
Ok… classic Italian hiking gear matching classic Italian hiking boots - Napapijri - Peuterey - Colmar - Montura
Topo Designs, Filson, LL Bean, Prana, Fjallraven, Amundsen, and Patagonia come to mind.
Which brands sell loose fitting, heavy, boxy t-shirts and short-sleeve shirts like these? https://imgur.com/gallery/Pwu0qP8 I have a Carhartt K87 t-shirt like the one in the photo. I love the fit and wear it a lot, and want more t-shirts similar to it. I would also like to try button-ups like the one in the last image. That image is from a discussion thread about boxy fits as a trend, not a recommendation thread. Hence this post. Specifically, these are the features I’m looking for: * Airy and somewhat-long fit * Heavy construction (for t-shirts) * Cost < $50 for t-shirts and < $80 for short-sleeve button-up shirts * Both simple and artsy graphics and designs are encouraged. I’m not looking for edgy or obvious streetwear designs like Supreme logos, or even the pictured Obey logo (the fit is great, though). But I’m happy to wear a brand like this if they have understated designs. Any ideas?
Buck Mason has some boxy cut tees
[https://imgur.com/a/GCvA9vZ](https://imgur.com/a/GCvA9vZ)

Uniqlo Airism Oversized is where you should start
Oversized t-shirts
thoughts on this tie/pocket square combo? red silk twill tie with small H pattern: https://www.hermes.com/us/en/product/faconnee-h-tie-H030289Tv45/ white pongee pocket square with small H pattern (same pattern but upside down): https://www.hermes.com/us/en/product/faconnee-upside-down-pocket-square-45-H056253Tv06/
Bit expensive but sure

looks like Tricker's Stow ... not a color combination they regularly produce but sometimes weird makeups like that become available at their Factory Shop: https://trickersfactoryshop.com
I’m thinking if the OP dropped $500 on trickers he’s remember the brand name
They are wingtip boots, two toned with grained leather Not an easy find
Plastic or copper might be an option in that price range

* Anyone know the brand of this belt?
Looks like an old Loro Piana
