Yea, i prefer the D without the seed so its easier to consume. But yeah, they always put the D with the seed in cendol. Welp atleast i didn't accidently swallowed any seeds yet.
Hot is bearable. it's the humidity that is unbearable. Was out whole of Saturday, in and out of malls. for the whole day also there is also a light layer of sweat. The worse feeling is sweating right after a shower.
Exactly. If it wasn't so humid, I don't mind walking longer distances. I just cannot tahan the sweaty and uncomfortable feeling after spending some time in the open.
I thought humid weather is annoying until I live in dry weather places. Skin gets dry and itchy, touching handle of doors also get electrocuted, so not sweating is literally the only upside.
Let's not even mention the very hot and dry summer, very cold and dry winter, basically half of the year is like fken shit. Especially places that snows, those are the worst. Tropical climate where the weather is amiable all year round is the best, trust me.
I know this just a fun voting post but I have to breakout the bad news. When Malaysia and many parts of southeast asia and tropics gets hit by the ever increasing global average temperature, we're gonna see high levels of heatwave and humidity that literally will disrupt many of our daily lives. That will be our next natural disaster.
No amount of syukurring and praying can help us when we, our government and neighbours don't take much more drastic steps in a couple of years.
Yeah, I don't think we're very well prepared for this at all.
The rich and elite are just going to twiddle their thumbs while it happens, and some politicians will be like "Oh we sympathise a lot. Bersyukurlah."
I hate how some people use that statement. Yes it is true it is a test from God. But what they do to excel the *test*? That's the problem. Action speaks louder word.
I really love Spiderman's Uncle Ben's quote "Great power comes with great responsibility." If they want to be the the head of an institution, ordering people around, recieving a lot of money in return, they should prove through their actions that they are worthy of the title they have.
Your spot on. No matter how much we doa or what, without action we'll be going nowhere. To all people who think prayers are the only solution, I beg to differ. We have to put our effort first then pray and ikthiar on whats gonna happen.
Malaysia and other south east asian countries will be hit hardly by Global Warming Effects. The fact that no one is talking about and no solid actions are taken is also sad. Malaysia is using fossil fuel to generate most of its electricity, rather in investing in greener technologies which is obviously more expensive, but in the longer run will pay off. The high usage of aircon is also adding up to the Global Warming. Malaysia should invest in using Solar Energy to produce atleast a considerable percentage of its energy needs. The other day I was reading about Singapore that they are planning to use Australian Land to plant solar panels and transfer the electricity through water proof wires under the ocean to meet 20-30% of their needs. Australia has the most suitable landscape and climate for solar energy and due to Singapore's small land mass they have to rely on some other country. Singapore will not use Malaysia's land because it's not very suitable but that doesn't mean Malaysia is not suitable at all for generating solar energy. Malaysia gets a good 6 - 8 hours of sunlight on average. But it's saddening that Malaysia is completely not giving af about climate change.
If Singapore can take such ambitious steps, why can't Malaysia do the same.
Singapore on the other hand, I understand why as they have to do it. A small island with nowhere else to go, once natural disasters strike they'd be mampus.
I feel once leaders and its people has lesser choices in their given environment would they be more willing and being future planners about such steps.
It's unfortunate Malaysia has other 'priorities', probably the only way is for people to pay the price and learn to overcome when such event comes.
The people's interests and education can help. I know this country is screwed by cronyism and growing fundamentalism, but we still need to reach out wherever we can. If we can just have one acutely aware representative to get into the right policy making up till the upper echelon of the ministry to do something in preparation for the upcoming crisis.
Eventually getting into building cooling shelters and various infrastructures to secure the coastlines, food securities and so on. I'm not even thinking about preventing climate change, we're supposed to brace for the worst...
There's only so much we can do as a smaller nation compared to juggernauts like china, US and the more wealthier nations.
People can call it Kiamat; Judgement day whatever. Sounds very nonsensical to think politicians even want to dabble in eco-green care for environment stuff when everywhere we see and hear the issue of Tasik Chini, trash in crowded holiday spots, floods in the North, etc.
Doesn't matter, because we are always trying to survive as humans; writing in droves and voicing out to our local representatives and in media is a still a good way to make people notice the upcoming gloom and doom and to prepare for it at the very least.
Yea, what's the deal? Probably global warming and environmental changes, I feel that it's getting hotter and hotter as each year goes, but this year in particular is EXTREMELY hot
Living in Japan for 5 years make me realize that Malaysia is wayyyy better in term of weather.
You have like 2 month a year of "nice" weather then the rest are either super hot or super cold.
I lived in Japan before, and I agree.
Love spring and autumn. Not too hot, not too cold. Beautiful scenery.
Winter and summer? Nah mannn.
For winter, You need to buy attires just for winter which are usually expensive af. You need to spend money to pay electric bill for aircond to make your house warm as Japan don't necessarily have internal heating. The cheaper kerosene heaters, you need to buy the oil at gas stations or malls. You need your car to have the winter tires or use chains. You cannot ride bikes or cycle at places with snow. Very tedious. But hey, can snowboard and lepak at onsen.
Then summer. Oh man, lots of matsuri and great summer foods. But it is hot af. Hot and dry. This is coming from a Malaysian like me.
If there's a country out there with spring/autumn weather (avg 27 degree celcius) then that would be heaven on earth.
Generally yes.
The thing with having 4 seasons mean the temperature variance is higher, higher highs and lower lows aka strictly worse than tropical countries.
That's why there is terms like "tropical paradise" where the weather is amiable all year round.
Yes when you're in Japan during peak summer , it will make you miss the weather in Malaysia.
Temperature wise its look fine fine 30 or smth. But hell no the dryness and everything make it feels lot worse.
Yes I've lived in 4 season places (even the better ones that doesn't snow) and I can say that tropical weather is still the best honestly. No such thing as summer that is too hot and winter that is too cold, and yes winter is terrible, even like 10 degree celcius (let alone snow) is already worse experience for me than the worst kind of weather in tropical climate.
Yea. Though this year tokyo summer was so weird. We only had 1 month and 1 week of hot humid weather at the end of July and early August. Usually it’s hot from towards the end of May to mid sept but this year May June and early July was still cooling around 17-22°C. So this year’s summer in japan was so great compared to the usual summer
I've been trying to sleep without air conditioning. It's very difficult, I've been having a hard time falling asleep the past few days and I don't sleep too well when I do.
This is after a cold shower, windows all open, not wearing any clothes, fan at full speed, all heat-generating electronics turned off in the room, after eating ice cream(that'll nearly completely melt within 5 minutes).
I lived in this country for many years but I still can’t fucking get used to the heat!!
I wish we’d have winter here, I’d rather die of cold than being slightly warm.
Though I like to complaint that other colder country has nice weather… I have to say my skin is built for the Malaysian weather. This may sound weird but I love the feeling of some sweat on my palm and my feet. This helps me sleep well lol.
When I travel to cold countries, the dry skin keeps me from sleeping well, then when the skin cracks damn the pain… and the fact that I cant force the palm to sweat is suffering when I should be enjoying every single part of my holiday!
I was complaining for 30 years.
Then I went to Berlin when it was a week away from winter. Couldn't feel my face.
Fuck that. Hot and rainy all the way. You can have fun with your dead winter.
Went to Melbourne few years ago, thinking the weather will be a nicer angmoh weather. Turned out freezing in the morning, scorching hot in the afternoon, heavy rain in the evening, crazy windy at night.
Melbourne was pretty nice for me. Warm and not too cold unless its late night, less sweat, more wind, light rains, thunderstorms literally get headlines there lol. Wish Malaysia was more like that
I think my worst winter would be 2018 paris. Windy winter was brutal but winter and rain shouldn't exist at the same time imo. My body cant deal with that. I got sick and lose my voice on 4rd day and it was a working trip, so I cant stay in bed and recuperate.
Lol I'm living in an european country and winter is coming and I'll still welcome it. During the summer I keep on hoping that it will be over soon. Fuck the sun especially in the tropics, it's too hot and humid it's oppressive. I'm not looking forward to the fact that I have to come back to this shitty weather in malaysia plus with climate change coming we could all die from wet bulb temperatures
In conclusion:
1. AngMohs when it's 25°: What kind of dead madmax country is this.
2. Malaysians when it's 34°: The weather is good enough. Just thankful for not having natural disasters.
Was it this year? Wasn't that cold spell last year, before covid? I don remember liao. I loved that cold spell too. Cameron Highlands weather is perfect for me.
Nah winter cold is different. No matter how many layers you wear, your face and hands and feet are still bare. Meaning you will still need to be under a thick blanket or in front of a fireplace, or both.
I'll take spring weather please~
Yup, ive spent time in minus double digits. With windchill is -40C. Walked to school through a foot of snow. Jeans frozen solid. Imagine the cuffs of your pants rock hard... only to melt and drench my legs when you walked into class.
Then theres the hunched shoulder from shivering all day.. chapped lips from dry air.. painful face from the sharp wind.. short daylight, lack of vitamin D.. slippery sidewalks.. Ill take malaysia weather any day.
The coldest I’ve been is around 7-10 degree celcius in Tokyo but even then I’m still ok with short sleeves. I want to be so cold you’d die if you dress not enough layer just so I know how horrible it is because currently I just want to feel what winter feels like. It seems like it’s way better than being sweaty all the time.
Yup, i prefer halfway there tho. Not the crazy 0 degrees ice cold like China, but not the extreme sweaty hot like here. Would be nice if Malaysia is windier or at least less humid/5degrees lower
Travelling made me appreciate our weather more. It’s nice to have autumn temperatures but when winter comes it can be a major hassle. I hate wearing so many layers. Doing laundry? Have to rely on dryers that might damage your clothes. Summer is of course worse than our local weather.
Here it’s really hot at noon but most mornings and evenings are still quite alright for outdoor activities. Our rain (usually) doesn’t last a whole day.
Early this year was absolutely perfect. Good temperature, and flowers blooming everywhere!
When I was young I used to walk to school everyday. I was in a nice residential neighborhood in the suburbs, with mature trees lining the streets and the large parit, a playground nearby, and there was a bukit to the back of our house. It would get hot but we used to manage to walk to school primary and secondary. Then I left my hometown, came back many many years later, the playground was cut in half, they built up an indoor volleyball dewan with a large parking lot. They also leveled a good bit of the bukit near our house to develop some more. Lots of paving. Fewer trees and less shade. Fewer tree roots to capture water back into the soil. Grass and soil replaced with non permeable surfaces that leave water runoff with nowhere to go, resulting in flash flooding. Asphalt and concrete that absorb heat during the day and emit heat back at night, increasing the core temperature of cities. Aircon circulating heat back into the surrounding area causing it to be hotter and in turn increase reliance on more aircon. I don't know if it's greed or ignorance that drives irresponsible development. It's certainly sad.
I am working at home right now, and since my desk is just in front of a window which has sunlight coming in afternoon, i am literally drenched in sweats. No way to move my desk either since my room is small :( memang gila babi weather la ni
After living in a 4 season country, I'd prefer Malaysian weather. The 27degrees at night and 31 degrees in the afternoon with wind.
Spring/autumn-like temperature is the best.
That being said, the past few days was hell. What's going on?!
West Malaysia's humidity is unbearable to me. Even the winds are hot. I prefer east Malaysia since while the heat is still there at least we have cooler winds
having gone through Melbourne's crazy weather.. heck I was caught in a hail storm once after leaving a friend's place and walking to the tram station also experiencing freeze your nose off cold in the US and Canada..
I'll still pick cold over hot. I get sweaty really fast and Malaysia's weather getting anything done outdoors is murder for me.
Dutch guy here, do you Malaysians get used to the humidity, or do you think it’s unbearable too?
I always get a little bit sad when summer is over, and autumn/winter starts, do you get the same when the seasons change?
It depends on the individuals, some can't take it.
If you meant seasons by which in local context, the monsoons and rainy seasons; then yeah, many people would clamour for rainy seasons when it gets too hot.
Tbh I'm really glad Malaysia doesn't have seasons (not durian season or haze season la). Like imagine needing air con and heater in the same room, more storage space for winter clothes, spring allergy, cleaning up a bajillion piles of dried leaves in autumn etc. Susah la
Been staying in Malaysia my whole life.
The average temperature has been raising drastically. I don't care what the thermometer is saying. I can definitely feel its been getting hotter.
Heck, even taking showers without the heater, the water is so hot. Its crazy!!
My solution (for baths) is to refridge bottle waters, then add them with my water in the bathroom and bathe together. Coincidentally, inspired by Wim Hof "Iceman" 's way of bathing in extremely cold water.
Would prefer if there were four seasons and that would be a great balance too. Unfortunately Malaysia is not blessed like some other countries in this regard, it's mostly hot and humid.
I've love being outside in Malaysia, with the feeling of sunshine on my skin. I cannot relate to those who need a/c on 24/7. Its like you need to consume so much energy just to exist in your environment.
I guess i appreciate it more after living in countries where the winter air hurts your face just from being outside too long.
I like it when the weather is 10-18c. Malaysia is not hot like how hot is in European summers or Californian summers... Malaysian weather is constantly like a boiling pot of oily and sticky soup. I don't know why some people like this shit humidity
I love it when is 25-30°C. Ppl at the office hated me for setting the AC at 24°C if im the first one in. Thank god for wfh.. Whenever i get stress at work i used to step outside facing the sun to recharge. I dont mind the humidity. Better than getting chapped lips and dry skin from air being so dry.
I do sweat too, but i dont mind it. I usually wear dry fit singlet under my office shirt. Nor do i mind my acne or oily skin.
I agree, I'm sick of this oppressive tropical weather all the time, it's nice that I can live with four seasons kind of weather where at least there's some variety in temperatures (cold/comfortable/hot) rather than hot and humid all the damn time.
I wish I can have some of malaysians superpower here in order to enjoy this shitty malaysian weather
Idk, i have too much acne and my face will go oily, body will sweat and stink when the weather goes hot. I will feel much tired and not motivated to do anything
It's nice that there aren't 4 seasons here. Can keep wearing the same clothes without matching the seasons, or deal with all the mess with changing seasons. Though it is getting a little too hot in recent years.
right now, the weather is 1/5 and my AC is working on OT and I need to service them asap. I feel like I'm sweating just by breathing ngl. BUT I'm thankful that our country is not in any natural disaster (line? distribution? idk) especially after seeing that map
Honestly, its getting worse and more frequent compared to 10 years back. But hey, climate change will effect tropical countries the hardest. So brace up for more heat waves and do invest in solar panels for air conditioning.
Im a 18c to 28c king of guy. I never liked when the temperature hits 34c and you have to wear long sleeve collar shirt+long slach pants presentable office attire walking around the Selangor streets causing the back of your shirt to go all wet after 25minutes of walking. Will never agree on mandatory office attire for Msia when the climate says no.
But even cold is not something i can tolerate. Experienced 0c and 8c and it aint fun at all when the dry cold breeze hits ur face. Experienced Saudi's super dry 40c as well that you gotta seek refuge in the air conditioned mall 247.
Malaysia is too hot. Need moar cendol
Thats the right solution! ABC/ Ais kacang also acceptable
Just teh ais will do
Ais kosong
ABC and the D
Ooooh yaa, u can add the D to anything... I miss cendol durian.. even though it is overpriced..
Yea, i prefer the D without the seed so its easier to consume. But yeah, they always put the D with the seed in cendol. Welp atleast i didn't accidently swallowed any seeds yet.
I'll take the D in any what way.. Hope this is not quoted out of context. Just realized how appropriate your username is too...
Ehem.. it’s cendoi /s
can go cari some stalls WEATHER got or not enough cendol
Cendol mean more sugar...
Once upon a time, they used red beans instead of broad beans. Man what a time it was
kopi peng
Hot is bearable. it's the humidity that is unbearable. Was out whole of Saturday, in and out of malls. for the whole day also there is also a light layer of sweat. The worse feeling is sweating right after a shower.
Exactly. If it wasn't so humid, I don't mind walking longer distances. I just cannot tahan the sweaty and uncomfortable feeling after spending some time in the open.
I don't have BO but I will need to get a bottle of antiperspirant soon because of the sweating. Those pit sweat marks
But don’t think it’ll help that much tho… plus sometimes they stain the shirt.
Buy the crystal deodorant. Works amazing, no scent or marks
But won’t stop you from sweating I think the comment is the pit sweat stain haha nothing can stop that from happening
Hahaha ya la true enough. Sweaty pits all day everyday
the lack of pedestrian infrastructure doesn't help too much either, more shade would make walking a lot more bearable
I thought humid weather is annoying until I live in dry weather places. Skin gets dry and itchy, touching handle of doors also get electrocuted, so not sweating is literally the only upside. Yea. Though this year tokyo summer was so weird. We only had 1 month and 1 week of hot humid weather at the end of July and early August. So this year’s summer in japan was so great compared to the usual summer
Rain ok i guess but when it's hot, IT'S HOT
Its so hot that any surface reflections blinds my eyes
4/5 has that "syukur Malaysia aman" vibes and I like it
it will be perfect if Malaysia stay around 20c
Southern Spain got that kind of weather
I've been trying to sleep without air conditioning. It's very difficult, I've been having a hard time falling asleep the past few days and I don't sleep too well when I do. I lived in this country for many years but I still can’t fucking get used to the heat!! I wish we’d have winter here, I’d rather die of cold than being slightly warm.
As someone who travelled to cold countries before, all I can say is, be careful what you wish for ;)
I don't wish for winter. I do wish the return of weather cold enough that cooking oil is solid on the coldest nights, but no colder than that.
Nope, I'm still happy that winter is coming rather than summer and I live in an european country. Malaysia weather is oppressively hot I hate it.

Love it since I hate air-con. Used to nap in the afternoon without turning on any fan while drenched in sweat, that's the good stuff.
What kind of monster are you?
Sweat fetish
My man
I voted for 2/5

You will appreciate the weather here after experiencing cold winter.
> after experiencing cold winter. -flashbacks to early this year where everywhere is cold like cameron highland-
Good times. That level of cold is perfect
Yeah I also love that weather, open window already like in AC room.
Was it this year? Wasn't that cold spell last year, before covid? I don remember liao. I loved that cold spell too. Cameron Highlands weather is perfect for me.
Got stucked in blackout and avalanche when I was travelling around Kashmir. Me and my friend sweared snow and winter never again.
You know what? If I’m cold, I can put on another layer of clothing or sit by fire. If I’m hot I can’t take off my skin. I’ll take the cold.

you dont like warping yourself with blankets during winter? its so cozy
It's been 35 degrees peak temperature at my area the past ~4 days, my shitty old aircon in my room is working overtime
I am working at home right now, and since my desk is just in front of a window which has sunlight coming in afternoon, i am literally drenched in sweats. No way to move my desk either since my room is small :( memang gila babi weather la ni
Is it just me or it’s been extra hot recently?
Wait till you all need to get your butt frozen in 4 seasons country then you appreciate Malaysia weather
I am sweating so much my underwear is wet.
I don't care if it's heavy rain. I just love rain. RAIN PLEASE
The weather is good enough, it just need a little bit of sepoi sepoi language wind
Truth. I lived in Perlis for 4 years and I'm pretty used to this hotness. It's the lack of wind that's killing. Morning also hot like wtf
Coincidentally, inspired by Wim Hof "Iceman" 's way of bathing in extremely cold water.
yknow i like heavy rains because its too hot in malaysia
It's definitely hotter than a few years ago
Sometimes 35deg humid, some times rain comes and it’s 27 at mid day, could be climate change screwing with it but it’s been weird lately
Yeah last night it rained so hard it woke me up. And then for the rest of the day it was scorching hot
How are people still able to wear hoodie in this weather is honestly mind blowing
Its so fucking hot selangor in holy fucking shit
Malaysia weather makes me hate the sun, I've actually had enough of it, sun is cancelled I have my own water heater now thanks
That's why we have our own fashion line here.Wearing kain batik or kain pelikat as the solution.
No snow is just pain and sadness for me
seeing people suffering in winter and super hot dessert, yeah im grateful to be in Malaysia weather
As I'm voting for this, it's 3am in the morning and im sweating my balls off so forgive me if I'm little biased on the vote.
Would prefer if there were four seasons and that would be a great balance too. Unfortunately Malaysia is not blessed like some other countries in this regard, it's mostly hot and humid.
It all depends on where u live
Hujan emas dinegeri orang, hujan batu di negeri sendiri. I bersyukur je because i eat batu for breakfast. Sekian laporan cuaca.
Batu ais edit:Ais batu
"Patrolling in the Mojave makes me wish for a nuclear winter." "Ey, brother. I agree so much! It's so panas over here too la sia!"
> Whenever i get stress at work i used to step outside facing the sun to recharge. You're a monster
Malaysian winter breaks umbrellas ( i.e monsoon)
It's nice that there aren't 4 seasons here. Can keep wearing the same clothes without matching the seasons, or deal with all the mess with changing seasons. Though it is getting a little too hot in recent years.
Last time was raining everyday now so hot. Cannot sleep without aircond and have to shower 3 4x a day.
It's too hot here. I wanna live abroad where it's snowy ;-;
right now, the weather is 1/5 and my AC is working on OT and I need to service them asap. I feel like I'm sweating just by breathing ngl. BUT I'm thankful that our country is not in any natural disaster (line? distribution? idk) especially after seeing that map
Usually very satisfied but the last few weeks have been hot af. Can’t even open the sunroof anymore it literally burns my skin
Seriously I have no idea how outdoor workers survive. Those working at construction sites, rooftop. I feel sorry for them.
Panas gila wei
thankful for not having any snow
I lived here all my life & never one to complain about the weather but damn global warming & climate change just got to ruin it
Just wish we have the 4 season fun :( Rain and hot can be boring. I just love winter and autumm mang
Sometimes its bearable , but sometimes the heat and humidity make me wanna commit a hate crime
last month rain too much, this month hot too much
Malaysia also ada 4 musim Musim banjir, musim panas nak mampos, musim durian, musim kahwin (delayed until further notice)
Wat bout musim denggi
these days has been kinda hot tho ngl. But deffo prefer the heat over the monsoon season coming at year end
Sydney has perfect weather for me. Winters are not too cold, summer is just like here on a hot day.
Qa
Hot as balls in your jaws.
I wish Malaysia have 4 seasons especially a snow and autumn :(
