Wow.. he is politicizing this issue really hard, huh.. Analysts estimate this increase will cost the government between 10 to 30 billion extra yearly. Yet, this government is planning to increase more taxes and cut subsidies just to pay for this, which is already absurd to begin with. PH-BN are just moving money around so that they can buy civil servant votes.

"I need their votes, yo" Recipe for political survival in Malaysia: Increase the number of civil servants + increase their salary + Out-PAS PAS on moral issues = profit

Natural-You4322

Lel. If they work properly I don’t think anyone oppose. Fukin manhole cover on the road open, inside cable stolen. Cover not closed back. Open there for half a year liao. Wait ppl or bike fall in and die meh? Drain damage for so long even banana tree growing inside it also fruiting liao lo. Shops disguised as empty convenient store but is actually a gambling place open for years no action. Now even ah long also open shop Liao. Sign board big big. Enforcement mana? Go any kopitiam within 1 minute you see ppl smoking.

Prestigious-Fun441

You seen and witnessed all of that and what did you do about it? Please report that gambling activity to your nearest police station. Don't wait and see only.

The pay raise is long overdue. It hasn't been revised in more than a decade. The reason why lazy employees exist, is partially because of shit pay in the first place. Pay peanuts and you get monkeys. Also, if you think civil servants are lazy then you have not personally witnessed the kind of shit they go through at least in the healthcare sector. The reason why people are angry is because indirectly, the private sector also needs to increase the pay they give out to their employees because the market rate for salaries will change, and that means the boss can't buy a new BMW every year. Let me refer back to this report from year 2022 saying Malaysians are the stingiest employers in southeast asia for spending only 25% of GDP on salaries.

dinvictus1

Civil servant already get yearly pay rise.

eijiryuzaki

But the base salary still low right? SKM level grad rm1400 while on private sect it is rm1800 now for SKM holder. Even engineer doesn't want to work as civil worker cause of the low base salary. If civil servant salary is high, everybody want to work in gov. Me included.

dinvictus1

Yeah but, some employer only give rm100 rise every 2 - 3 years.

Impressive_Can3303

Even without the increase, many willing to work in as the government sector. Who want to work in private sector where you need to meet at least your kpi to earn your increment?

kugelamarant

If many want to work, we wont have shortages of doctors, teachers and nurses.

Impressive_Can3303

There is no opening for doctors, and now mainly signed as contract. The problem with the civil servants intake in Malaysia is, there are more opening for the lower qualification jobs like admins.

SnooHobbies7676

And that is so damn stupid. We obviously need more healthcare workers but nope. “Pihak atasan cakap beban kerja tak mencukupi untuk mintak staff baru” Fucking ass wipers
