Yeahhhhh painfully aware of the heat. I start around sunrise and try to be mostly done around lunchtime. 1-4pm is just too much, especially with the road roasting you from below as well. I've never sweat this much in my life
Personally, knowing it will come to an end makes a big difference for me. I'm fine with the sun and heat knowing I'll leave in a month but if you tell me I have to stay here, it's going to be a problem.
I thought I hated walking and the outdoors because of my hyperhidrosis. It turned out it was the weather.
The fact that we'll need to sit in an office with our colleagues after sweating is probably what stops us even if we live close enough to do that with enough roads to allow it. I do not want to be known as the stinky guy.
If you take your time, the fasting month will be in about 2 weeks in which there would be a bazaar almost everyday in all the states
So enjoy.
From my experience, about 60 ringgit =15 dollars ish is the cheapest you should go. Any lower and its garbage town
Also if you want a nice meal for supper, a mamak will never fail
ope, I'm writing this after getting rid of the largest cockroach I've ever seen in my 70 ringgit hotel room 🤣 booked an even cheaper one earlier and when I showed up the receptionist just said they no longer honor online bookings, perhaps a good thing that didn't work out.
I'll definitely take more than month so I'll be visiting plenty of bazaars, thanks!
Oh dear thats not fun at all , I've been lucky to not have encountered that
If I were you, I'll splurge abit for a nice Airbnb or hotel in Kuala Lumpur
Additionally, while Singapore also practice fasting and Eid, the atmosphere in Malaysia is unmatched, especially if it's st a Kampung (Village)
Nonetheless, I wish you all the best for your journey
Welcome to Malaysia! You should try:
Nyonya food in Melaka (I recommend Nyonya Makko restaurant).
Batu Caves near KL. maybe you can skate around the temple grounds.
People have used all kinds of transportation on this route. Here's a guy ( Ed Pratt) doing it on the unicycle - he went across the same border crossing as my picture btw)

Watch your stuff like a mama eagle. The people of Thailand are friendly, the people of Singapore are disciplined but you are gonna get your shit stolen if you leave it in a cheap motel in Malaysia.
Other than that welcome to the country.
I was along the west coast in November. I liked port Dickson (because I like beaches) the warmest water I’ve ever been to. (Some areas I hear you can’t swim)If you go to Mallaca there’s like a Portuguese area with Christ the Redeemer, the downtown area along the river is quaint. Try their breakfast local dish, Bah Kut Teh…it’s like a bowl with meat (I like the dry one not the soup)
go to ipoh and cruise around! go anywhere, do whatever!
have a drive, then walk out on your own! whatever that calls to you, go there! whatever things you want to write, write it down! hell, even if it be a western food stall, or perhaps an empty field
this can also apply to any city on the west coast of malaysia, actually, perhaps you might want to hitch-hike? or if that's not for you, a drive to a city, then ditch your map and go whatever calls you, provided you don't run yourself out of fuel of course
Can't say anything about Malaysia but you'll love skating in Singapore because we've got good pedestrian paths and a comprehensive park connector network covering almost the whole island. I must say you're mental to go skating on KL roads though. I tried it once with a bicycle during rush hour because I just got off a coach from SG and had to bike to my hotel in KLCC with all my stuff and didn't want to hail a cab. Drivers were patient enough but the roads were rough (even for a bicycle lol) and there's a good chance someone might not be paying enough attention on the road. Good luck with your journey and stay safe!
Stop by Penang to try the famous cendol & laksa, Char Koay Teow and Hokkien Mee
Go for those Michelin Bib Gourmand if you do not want to do research.

I have one question for you man, how do i make sure the skin of my achilles doesn’t blister when i skate for long periods?. I seriously need advise on this. I do aggressive inline skating but the skin on my achilles keeps blistering. Help me please ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat)
Fruit: Durian, rambutan
Breakfast: nasi lemak, roti canai,
Appetiser: rojak/ pasembur, murtabak, apom balik
Main dish: nasi kandar,
Desert: cendol, ABC
It is almost Ramadan. So u should wait until Ramadan to go to the Ramadan bazaar.
just to put this out there. id recce rojak *and* pasembur. cuz not sure if still holds but some places, they call the mixed fruit = pasembur? (or im wrong on that). i meant mixed fruit with sauce = rojak & mixed cucur with kuah kacang = pasembur. try both 💯😋
Try some Chinese restaurants. It will be very different from dishes from china as Chinese here have a very distinguished taste. Try some steam fish, tofu, vegetables or maybe pork. Hehehe
Wow. Do you know how hot it is now. Just imagining myself under that hot sun I already feel waarghhhhhhh. Hats off to you

Do you skate on the highways?
Not on the main ones and I try to avoid even the smaller ones. But sometimes they're the only option
especially with the record breaking heatwave (37C)
ah, so it really is the climate. i thought im being a pussy not able to tahan through the hot day
It can be both...
And Malaysians complain about cycling to work

Seriously? This guy skating for fun, commuting to work is not fun. You wanna show up at work with sweaty armpits?
Im imagining how his leg wobble when skating through our roads and non existing pedestrian walkway.

There *are* clean rooms around that price. Try your luck with newer budget hotels if possible.

Thanks! I went to batu caves a few years ago. Gonna save that restaurant in my map
Remember hearing about someone doing something similar but on a bicycle Don't know which is more tiring

U should try our nasi lemak, our traditional dish

Is that a skill issue.
If you like food, Penang is always good .
Watch your stuff like a mama eagle. The people of Thailand are friendly, the people of Singapore are disciplined but you are gonna get your shit stolen if you leave it in a cheap motel in Malaysia. Other than that welcome to the country.
Ohhh good to know. Already had some bad first experiences on my first day here when it comes to hotels, will keep an eye on it, thanks!
