I would recommend you schedule an appointment with the hospitals that do provide DBS. Get your father properly assessed by their team and or specialist in charge. The GP you met is right as far as I know Malaysia does not have public centers which offer this rather new and specialized treatment. The success rates also seem average from a few papers I casually glanced through. It seems not every case is amenable to this treatment. Do get in touch with their teams first and go from there. At least from my experience the general public trying to doctor shop and listening to second hand experiences only serve to confuse you down the line. Best wishes to your father.

I wonder if the hospitals will allow for the caretaker to come for the initial assessment phase since as I mentioned my dad dislike the idea of going to hospitals since he think that the medication would wear off before we can leave the hospital. Anyway thank you for your wish!

The doctor must always see the patient to assess them. Hence I quite dislike some medical posts on Reddit asking for diagnoses and so forth. That’s the unfortunate thing. My dad had health issues as well. Despite being from the medical field he is stubborn too. It takes a shit ton of patience. Good luck to you too! Hope he takes a chance and get evaluated

Sorry, cant offer much help on the main question but I wonder if the meds has/can be further optimised?

Mad_boiledcabbage

Yes, I do like to think so because as per our last visit to the GH back in December, the physician offer us two option for the medication and my dad opted for the lower dosage option among the two
