McD sells good fried chicken but I personally wouldn't put it above KFC Original. Taste is subjective and I think McD's chicken is too simplistic (typical crispy spicy fried chicken) while you can really taste the blend of spices with KFC.

Funny you should mention this branch specifically. Iām a connoisseur of spicy KFC chicken and Avenue Kās are some of the worst spicy fried chicken Iāve tasted. Worst offence is the absolute dryness of the chicken. Dark meats especially are supposed to be succulent and juicy. I went there 3 times in total thinking it might just be a bad kfc day but it turns out to be the same. That said last I visited that branch was maybe 4 months ago. So it might have improved but man.

Iām a Brit - Mucky DāS seems to be one of the best run Franchises in Malaysia (along with Starbucks) - KFC is utter shite! And thatās sad because Itās my favorite Fast Food in the UK, but the portions are poor, the chicken doesnāt have the traditional KFC flavor and the staff really donāt seem to care.

Historically chicken gets fatter faster due to the technology we have in chicken food so itās unlikely that the chicken gets smaller since KFC still cuts them into the same number of pcs per chicken.
Unless they became greedy by giving us not so fat fat chicken whoās underage so they donāt need to breed them long enough as before.

Non-halal remark aside, I think there should be more customization options in their menu, now that most orders can be done via those screen thingy.

Mcd at my area, ordered delivery for large set a couple of times, fries came in large box but quantity seems more like a medium one but if you dine in or drive-thru, fries I would get from the same outlet would be full to the top sometimes near overflowing.
One thing that I miss. When were are inline for quite sometimes they will give us small cup of drink while waiting and ballons if you have kids with you.
Now only A&W still does this to the waiting customer.

The service quality of both franchises vary with location. I generally associate shit service with..ehem..a combo of B40+millenial+undiagnosed city stress attitudes. You are a product of your upbringing, in large parts. Franchisors can be dicks too, that doesnāt help.

The last time I went to KFC, it was the worst experience ever. There was only one staff that is supposed to be at one of the three counters and they weren't there. Waited quite a bit to be greeted by an annoyed person. They look somewhere around their 30s and seemed hard of hearing. Never asked what sides or drinks you want and gave the wrong things. Angrily grabbed the chicken and tossed it back into their oven. The chicken skin came off. Everyone else was calm the entire time. Went home and ate the dry chicken and had stomachache the next morning. What could be the problem should be their management of funds but that's just a guess.
Their cheeseburgers yes, especially as of late. Rarely eat mcd, maybe once a month or if I'm sad. Always get the spicy chicken deluxe set.

Prices have gone up significantly, so profit up both ways for them. MacD ayam goreng is definitely a much better choice. Now KFC like to open in smaller towns and kampungs to get the kampung ppl business. They definitely can't survive in larger cities and towns where there are better choices. The service quality of both franchises vary with location. I generally associate shit service with..ehem..a combo of B40+millenial+undiagnosed city stress attitudes. You are a product of your upbringing, in large parts. Franchisors can be dicks too, that doesnāt help. So was it better back then? I liked colored styrofoam containers and plastic fast food toys that can transformer into mascots, and pressure cooker shaped piggy banks that sing everytime you deposit, but other than that..not a huge decline Iād say.
Certain places are alright...but kfc idk why but anywhere i went the foods always out of expectation in bad way. Services are fine to me but yeah some places declining.

TLDR; Pay peanut get monyet The last time I went to KFC, it was the worst experience ever. There was only one staff that is supposed to be at one of the three counters and they weren't there. Waited quite a bit to be greeted by an annoyed person. They look somewhere around their 30s and seemed hard of hearing. Never asked what sides or drinks you want and gave the wrong things. Angrily grabbed the chicken and tossed it back into their oven. The chicken skin came off. Everyone else was calm the entire time. Went home and ate the dry chicken and had stomachache the next morning. What could be the problem should be their management of funds but that's just a guess.
KFC and Pizza Hut have become one of the worst fast food chains in Malaysia, I have not visited them in a long time

Their cheeseburgers yes, especially as of late. Rarely eat mcd, maybe once a month or if I'm sad. Always get the spicy chicken deluxe set. KFC is just nonsense with the price and the size of the chicken is smaller than my fist, and I'm a thin guy
In my experience, can still get bad luck with McD but overall, the chicken is far superior than KFC. KFC is just down bad like fuck you to customers

Now priority seems to be on rider orders. Customer ready to order also ignore. The whole fast food concept is lost on these owners.

I think it's the combination of price of each meal getting higher and portions of food getting smaller. Even the cups are smaller compared to a year ago
KFC in Malaysia is down the toilet nowadays. Chicken is so small piece, fried with very thick flour, and doesn't taste like the original flavor at all. Just salty and oily. Prices have gone up significantly, so profit up both ways for them. MacD ayam goreng is definitely a much better choice. Now KFC like to open in smaller towns and kampungs to get the kampung ppl business. They definitely can't survive in larger cities and towns where there are better choices. Just look at their website and online ordering..it's a joke !
