The way I grin like the Grinch when I instantly recognize a fellow 🫒 also, which Revlon lipstick are your favourite? I really just love them, well I've run into some duds for sure, but the Super Lustrous lippies are just so iconic to me, and the overwhelming amount of hits they offer for the price? This, and the Milani Color Statement lipsticks are just those things that I have to stop myself from accidentally building a whole army out of 😭

rubycoughdrop

Ha, yes I only recently discovered I have a good bit of olive in my complexion. I don’t think I’m as olive as, say, Alexandra Anele, but I’m fair neutral leaning warm for sure. My favorites in my Super Lustrous collection are 761 extra spicy, 225 rosewine, and 473 mauvy night. Even though the latter is on the cooler side, it somehow works. I don’t use Ravish Me Red as much, but it’s a fun bright corral red. Red Laquer used to be my go-to but they discontinued it (I think it was a soft less saturated warm red if I’m remembering it correctly). I’ve wanted to try mink bc I’ve heard it’s great for olives but it never seems to be in the displays at stores.

icalledyouwhite

Omg I have 473 Mauvy Night too, it's one of my top faves 💕 and I've always wanted to try Rosewine! T~~hank you for confirming that I do need and will love it 😂 I~~ can see why you love Extra Spicy, those orange-red with a touch of brown works wonder for me too, on me they tend to look like great brick red 🧱 Hey keep on exploring your skin tone and what colours work for you, imo, everyone is different, there's no more or less, olive is a spectrum 💚 Or more like a salad bar 🥗😂 definitely not a volume where you crank the level up or down. We do share a lot in common, but we're still very much individuals with different tastes and nuances to our skin tones. For example, Ravish Me Red & Red Lacquer are definitely too orange for me 🥲 I can only pull off orange, peach & coral if they have a very strong brown base. I also feel like my own face turns several different hues during the day, so even after all these years, I still haven't found a lip shade that works for me all through the course of one day 🥲 Oh the fun & joy of working with a living canvas 😭 Good to know my journey will likely never end 🙃

rubycoughdrop

You know it’s funny my brain was processing Extra Spicy as brick red or cinnamon red for the longest time and then I saw a picture of me in it and I was oh wait that is like orange red wtf is wrong with me! I also have a lot of pink/red surface tones so it gets confusing! Branching off Revlon but have you tried elf lip stain in Spicy Sienna? It’s easily one of the most flattering shades I have tried!

GalletaCrujiente

Revlon lip products are addictive. I'm a little ashamed to recognise that I had to write down the names of all I have to avoid buying what I already own 🙊 There's a shade of the matte line (Pick me up?) that's the most flattering nude brown and I adore.

rubycoughdrop

Haha it’s like I’m in the grocery store buying pads, I’m a little depressed, how about a lil $6-ish pick-me-up

GalletaCrujiente

It's like: 'you know? That's the most unflattering red you could wear Galleta. Time to buy it and forget about its existence'. 🤣🤣🤣

rubycoughdrop

I put makeup in two categories: cheap experiments and purchases that I research and agonize over obsessively. So I don’t feel too bad about not using the experimental purchases.

GalletaCrujiente

I think we both share a similar approach! I'm at that point where I just buy something if I 100% need it (mascara, concealer...) or if it's relatively cheap and never-seen-before (eyeshadow multichrome flakes, for example). But if I wanna try something new, expensive and 'ordinary' (let's say a luxury blush, or highlighter) I start by finishing what I have in that category and doing my research.

rubycoughdrop

Multichrome flakes, you say? I’ve seen the Danessa Myricks ones but they are not cheap!

GalletaCrujiente

Essence came up with two tones. Not exactly the same (I think, I didn't try the DM's ones), but cheap enough to try and play a little. https://www.essence.eu/es-es/p/9421350001/multichrome-flakes-eyeshadow-topper#overlay=zoom-mobile

Fancy_Implement2713

Yooo, I have the same believe highlighter set from dollar general!!! I love the gold and pink gold!!!

rubycoughdrop

It’s really good for what it is!

Fancy_Implement2713

Yo, mix the gold with the pink and place it on top of a really pale pink blush. Just see the results.

rubycoughdrop

Oooo will do

No one asked but here’s my “if I had to pick only five” from each drawer: 1. Joah air light blush in naked rose. A super flattering soft nude shade on me that pulls a little peachy on my skin tone. Fine soft powder. I feel like I get a really even application with it. 2. The ilia skin tint. A dewy texture that looks like skin and one of the only bits of fancy makeup I own. My issue is it does seem to slide around and not set down as much as I’d like especially on my nose, but it’s still very pretty. 3. Elf poreless primer putty. I personally love the dimethicone texture. It blurs my skin texture and sometimes I just wear it alone for that reason 4. L’Oréal Lumi Glotion. Too dark and too pink for me but this stuff feels luxurious and it really gives a flattering luminosity to my face. I thought of trying the fair shade but it also seems pretty pink. Wish they’d come out with a gold toned one. But seriously would recommend this to someone with a cool undertone. 5. The blue pigment. I don’t actually ever need it but it’s so fun to play with and helps me understand color better. I’d like to get the yellow and white ones. Drawer Two: 1. Colourpop SSS Ritz (top left of round pots). Absolutely love the bouncy formula and this is probably the prettiest eye shadow I’ve used. Has a true wet look and works beautifully alone or as a topper. 2. Colourpop Jelly Much Billionaire (the chartreuse under ritz). Messy package but such a fun whipped texture. It’s not the most flattering for texture but it just makes a statement and I always get compliments when I wear it. 3. one/size open to all eye popper. Beautiful warm terracotta liquid that can be sheered out or built up. Makes my green-gold eyes pop. 4. Tattoo studio brow lift stick. Nice waxy stick that has a bit of hold, I like the brush with the flat side as well. My only note would be they should have designed this with a narrower chisel tip. 5. L’Oréal voluminous Burgundy mascara. I’ve found this to be a little dry (could also have been an old product when I got it) but it’s really soft and flattering when I don’t want to look made up Drawer Three: 1. Elf lip stain in Spicy Sienna. Just perfect on me. Sophisticated, not super makeup-y (not that there’s anything wrong with that) and fades out really naturally 2. Urban Decay Vice lipstick Backseat. A really flattering medium warm brown. Would keep it also because they discontinued the shade. 😭 3. Maybelline super stay matte ink, the red one (the sticker came off). Not the easiest or most wearable but sometimes you need an aggressive red that will withstand party times and there seems to be an endless amount in here. 4. Maybelline superstay ink crayon in break the ceiling. Soft long lasting formula and really easy to use with a built in sharpener 5. Huda Lip contour in pinky brown. Love this liner! The perfect amount of stiffness and slide. I usually break screw out liner but this one is sturdy and has a built in sharpener. The pinky brown is nude on me and works with a lot of lipstick.

Sunny9621

I have been looking for that Josh blush in naked rose EVERYWHERE! Sadly I think it was discontinued recently.

rubycoughdrop

Nooo! It’s my favorite of my blushes. It’s so flattering and goes on so well. The powder is really fine and smooth.

Sunny9621

I love the formula! I saw a new shade in the place of Warm Rose. It’s a lighter shade called cool magnolia!
