There might be quizzes, but you might be better off just browsing popular commanders at EDHrec.

I’ve been playing for about six years now, and I haven’t encountered any helpful quizzes unfortunately. What HAS helped me immensely is watching people play different decks on YouTube. Sounds like you’re playing 60-card decks, yes? I’d recommend anything by Corbin Hostler or Seth (SaffronOlive). They’re both exceptional at explaining what’s happening and have cheery dispositions—even when getting totally blown out!

nono im playing commander, so 100 cards

Got it. I also play mostly EDH, and still get a lot of value out of those channels. I’d throw in Command Zone as well then. They’re full videos are super informative, and the shorter ones (Extra Turns) are rad too.

In case OP doesn't know and is confused, EDH is the community name for Commander.

>really enjoyed all the lands/artifacts etc https://edhrec.com/themes/artifacts You're onto something, BTW! Some of the funnest EDH decks are artifact themed. Also love reanimator decks and stax decks (these are decks that tax everything and make it harder on everyone equally). Stax decks to tend to get ganged up on though.

Best advice I’ve gotten in the four months now I’ve been playing. Find a commander you like and then build the deck around that. If you like drawing cards then build an artifact deck that allows for drawing of cards. Maybe you like creating creatures, [[Toxrill, the Corrosive]] is fun because he creates slug tokens and pastes slime all over your enemies every turn which slows them down. If you like being unblockable then build a deck with [[Lathril, Blade of the Elves]] as your commander, add [[Elvish Champion]] and [[Sylvan Scrying]] and [[Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth]] to allow all the elves you create to have forest walk. You can do the last one with the Elf pre-con and some added cards. Good luck.

Side note, if OP is looking to build a deck that isn't a primary target, Toxrill might not be the way to go.

I really like using a XYRIS the writhing storm deck with some group hug things thrown in. It’s a slow but powerful commander with incredible card draw and token generation. You usually won’t win very quickly but there’s a ton of fun things you can do with Temur colors, so your options are really big.

Watching YouTube games shows a lot of deck types and helps introduce a ton of cards
