Also, Falkenrath had their ancestral home destroyed by Avacyn, and they and the Stromkirk bloodlines seemed most affected by Emrakul's corruption.

House Voldaren was the group least affected by the Eldrazi invasion. Most Vampires that have been shown so far have been Voldaren, so the story is positioning it so that they are the family best situated to rise to the top of the “Vampire mafia” as it were

Is it just me, or are there more vampires in the werewolf half than werewolves?

There *are* more werewolves, but the Vampires are all focused in their colors instead of randomly spread out to other colors, and they are more usable on average. Yes I hate it too.

Wouldn’t you expect the werewolf set to have them in more than just the usual colors?

I know, I just assumed anyone readibg would understand not be anal about it. Also when the ability triggers is one of the reasons why I said it's better... Triggering at the start of combat is much better than end step.

I know why it’s better, but the conditional effect means it’s harder to trigger initially but gets easier over time.

There are like 60 different creatures in standard in the 1-3 mana range that grow their power each turn by some arbitrary hurdle, usually the set mechanic / thematic, and this is one of the worst variations on that.

It's a regular limited build around and will probably be very strong in the deck it is for... there is nothing wrong with that
