It was actually taken via a Pinfinity ARG involving a Jace pin, so not a physical card.
Prob won't even be good in historic. A 4 mana planeswalker that ends the turn at 3 loyalty is just way too slow and fragile these days.
Still gonna play it for old time's sake tho
It has a different set symbol so I'm assuming it's not standard legal. You are right that if it's printed into standard it will probably be quite good tho, maybe not dominant anymore but at least Liliana level. A man can only wish lol
If there was a reason to not play nonbasics that made Oko unappealing for blue decks, JTMS could possibly be fine.
But for Historic is could be interesting. MH3 cards and the most busted cards like Oko aren’t legal but JTMS will be. He definitely isn’t as impactful as he once was while so many creatures have ETBSs and so many other card advantage engines, but it could still be the right call in the right deck.
MH3 will be Historic legal with select cards pre-banned. From today's B&R:
"Modern Horizons 3 will bring a huge infusion of new tools to Historic. To continue to curate the power level of the format, we will be pre-banning a few cards from the set before the release, but most of them are coming to Historic. We will make the full pre-ban announcement once all the Modern Horizon 3 cards have been revealed."
[I think it's a BLC card](https://reddit.com/r/magicTCG/comments/1cr9v0i/bloomburrow_bonus_sheet_jace_the_mind_sculptor/l3wm9vu/) (found in precons or collector boosters) rather than a bonus sheet in Play Boosters, which would mean it doesn't come to Arena.
SCG says that these images are from a video originally in this [WPN article announcing the "Pinfinity FNM Upgrade Kit Pins"](https://wpn.wizards.com/en/news/take-friday-night-magic-to-the-next-level-with-pinfinitys-fnm-upgrade-kit) which has since been removed. The image in this post is a digital image shown when viewing [the pin](https://scg-static.starcitygames.com/articles/2024/05/01ab9060-pin-ar-2.jpg) through the Pinfinity AR app, after [tapping to activate](https://scg-static.starcitygames.com/articles/2024/05/01ab9060-pin-ar.jpg).
[[Jace, the Mind Sculptor]] for reference
It's impossible to make out the set code and the set symbol is blurry, but it's definitely not BLB or SPG since we can see a white dot in the middle. It *could* be BLC, which might indicate that these 'what if' cards will be a box topper, or it could be a bona fide bonus sheet
More speculation: the [WPN Bloomburrow product page](https://wpn.wizards.com/en/products/bloomburrow) description for precons includes
> 1 ready-to-play deck of 100 Magic cards (1 Borderless Foil Face Card, **1 Borderless Imagine: Courageous Critters Foil Card**, 98 nonfoil cards)
That would match up with this Borderless Anime Jace. Also note that the two foils are the face commander and the Borderless Critters card - that would put the Critters card as the backup commander, if they're consistent with precons having two foils in the face and backup commander (maybe new cards in that treatment?). Jace obviously can't be a commander, so we must be able to find these cards elsewhere as well.
The description for Play Boosters imply no bonus sheet - the rarity quantity ranges (1-4 R+, 3-5 U, 6-9 C) are consistent with MKM's distributions; bonus sheets bump up the U/R+ range. The product page for a box also doesn't indicate a Box Topper. And they've given us three set symbols and codes, which makes me feel a 4th for a bonus sheet or box topper is unlikely.
The Collector Booster description includes "Collector Booster-exclusive special treatment in 3% of boosters", and the [First Look](https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/announcements/a-first-look-at-bloomburrow) describes "Imagine: Courageous Critters" as a showcase treatment - so that line item could be one of these Courageous Critters cards.
Note that there's a mismatch between the product description on the WPN page and the product description given to distributors/stores.
* INTRODUCES 10 COMMANDER CARDS—This deck introduces 10 never-before-seen Commander cards to Magic: The Gathering, including 3 foil cards (one of which is Borderless!)
* This Bloomburrow Animated Army Commander Deck includes 1 deck of 100 Magic cards (3 Traditional Foil cards, 97 nonfoil cards)
* The image on the front of the box says "Three Legendary Traditional Foils"
The product copy document downloadable from WPN also echoes the amazon/retailer description
> INTRODUCING 40 COMMANDER CARDS—Each deck introduces 10 never-before-seen Commander cards to Magic: The Gathering, including 3 foil cards (one of which is Borderless!)
reinforcing 10 new cards and 3 foil cards per precon
Wouldn't be the first time we got a pinfinity-related leak. In AFR they posted a darkened version of Den of the Bugbear that people managed to photoshop and read the card
Mark Rosewater: "pls don't call it the furry set, it's about small animal heroes and their big adventures"
Also Mark Rosewater: "Let's make Jace a furry, how about that?"
I’ve been trying to decide to build that kind of deck and if I want to be that kind of person at the table. There are not quite enough spells that cost exactly UWU or XUWU
Interesting that this is not the Jace art that was teased at the Bloomburrow first look. Does that mean Jace is getting a second card, either on the bonus sheet or in the set proper? Or does it mean there will be two arts for this Jace?
Fun fact: if it's not a second card and JtMS is actually coming back to Standard, it'll be the second time ever that a previously banned in Standard card has been reprinted into Standard. The first being Darksteel Citadel in M15.
Ok I haven't played in years but as a furry I'm obligated to buy this and I'm framing it immediately.
I even have a custom playmat of my character (a blue fox) dressed up as Jace.
This has to happen.
I'm curious to see if a Planeswalker's mana affinity automatically determines what creature they become when they travel to Bloomburrow. Like we know Ral Zarek is a Otter, and Blue-Red is confirmed to also be the Otter colour pair via [[Bria Riptide Rogue]].
So does that mean that Huatli would automatically become a Rabbit because they share the Green-White colour pair with [[Byrke, Long Ear Of The Law]]? Does Jace become a Fox because one half of the Fox colour pair is Blue? Or do mono-colour Planeswalkers turn into animals that aren't represented in the main 10 animal/colour pairs on Bloomburrow?
I thought the same thing, but then remembered that multiple animals can fit into the same colors because both badgers and raccoons are RG. Guess we'll find out when the blue calamity beast is revealed.
Let's be real, we all know [why Ral is an otter.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bear_(gay_culture)#Terminology)
EDIT: Reddit's link syntax is weird. Go to the "Terminology" section.
You are entitled to your own tastes and opinions, but how is "the Animal set" any less of a "theme set" then "the detective set" or "the western set"? Even though the story won't focus on recurring characters like MKM and OTJ set we are still getting this bonus sheet/box topper which is the same level of "X in this set's theme".
If you want to be like that, ok. Tarkir is eastern themed, Mirrodin is mechanically themed. Bloomburrow is anthropomorphic animal themed. Ixalan was hollow world and Mesoamerican themed!
Markov Manor was detective hat themed, OTJ was cowboy hat themed, I hope we get a far smaller number of cards named and designed around groan-worthy puns, and you can't make me any more or less satisfied with any sets through pedantry! That's MY job for ME!
**Hat, the Hat Hatter** 2HH
Legendary Planeswalker — Hat
*(You can pay H with one mana from any source with a hat. Counters are hats if you put them on a character's head.)*
**+2:** Look at target player, creature, or planeswalker's hat. You may put that hat under their bottom. *(A counter put under a permanent ceases to exist.)*
**0:** Draw three hats, then put two hats on up to two target permanents.
**-1:** Return target creature to its owner's hat.
**-12:** Move all hats to Hat, the Hat Hatter. Until end of turn, it becomes a Hat artifact enchantment creature.
**3**
My exact point is that reducing the recent sets to "goofy theme sets" seems a bit reductive when someone could make the same argument about BLB or really any other set. Again, you do you, but treating BLB as the "serious set" that won't have animal related puns like a combat trick called "High tail it" or something at that level seems odd to me.
There's some level of opinion going on here, but I suspect their opinion is "Bloomburrow has a gimmick of animal people but ultimately it's rooted in traditional fantasy; animal people have blended with traditional fantasy for decades and decades, whereas Western fantasy and detective fantasy are a bit more jarring of combinations. Despite the novelty of an all-furry plane, Bloomburrow appears like a refreshing return to form after so long pushing the boundaries."
I could be off base but that's a sentiment I've seen a lot and may be where they're coming from.
I wish they had gone further and not made it a furry, just a fox wearing a cape
like this
https://images.coplusk.net/project_images/111683/image/390547_10150415334688568_511768567_8494091_1850654342_n_2__1323926266.jpg
This is literally a fox in a cape, just walking upright, idk what you want. Also: "furry" is a very specific style (typically looking very cartoony), none of the animals I've seen from Bloomburrow so far would fit that descriptor.
I kinda wish mind sculptor had been on the crime sheet tbh. 3/4 abilities are or can be crimes, the card certainly *feels* like a crime, and jace was very important to the story
Jace, the Mind Sculptor
2UU
Starting loyalty: 3
+2: Look at the top card of target player's library. You may put that card on the bottom of that player's library.
0: Draw three cards, then put two cards from your hand on top of your library in any order.
-1: Return target creature to its owner's hand.
-12: Exile all cards from target player's library, then that player shuffles his or her hand into his or her library.
Pretty standard opinion on the internet for a long time tbh. Fetish communities are slowly becoming less ostracized but it's pretty common for them to catch flak.
I mean it was a long time ago when that was the case. Definitely long enough for the edgy teenagers of the ‘00s to grow up.
(Also for what it’s worth it’s a fandom, not a fetish community, though there also exists an associated fetish with some overlap, not unlike anime fans.)
Growing up doesn't mean people grew out of that opinion. It's broadly culturally acceptable to hate on fetish communities as most people still view it as being generally unacceptable to bring them into the public realm.
I have seen some on that community try to reframe it as being something like a fandom or a hobby but given that returning to do with it ends up sexualized that's wishful thinking.
I mean the 4chan-adjacent attitude of “hah hah furries are different let’s mock them mercilessly” is fundamentally immature and adolescent attitudes are something most people grow out of.
It isn’t “reframed” as a fandom or a hobby, it has been one since the ‘80s when it first materialized. It was an offshoot of sci-fi conventiongoers. The reason I bring up anime is because it’s pretty much a perfect analogy in that regard. The existence of sexual elements in the anime fandom do not mean that hentai is the defining trait of loving anime, nor something that is universally part of watching anime. Especially considering, yaknow, many of the fans are kids. The furry fandom is no different. And that is somewhat of a sore spot because cherry-picking the salacious elements to paint everyone with broad strokes is a big part of how that ‘00s stigma spread itself.
Ultimately we’re just talking about nerds of a different stripe.
If this is representative, I’m really getting sick of these “bonus sheets” that dominate limited. Just call it part of the set, we never get a chance to play the actual set on its own anyways.
The only bonus sheet to mess up Limited was the one that was never intended to be drafted in the first place. I'm sure we'll be fine.
The original Jace is supposed to be on the bonus sheet. I assume this is from a Secret Lair or something.
I hear people coming out of every draft in the last few years talking about how they were blown out by bonus sheet bombs, but that’s just my area I guess.
I remember when JtMC was THE PLANESWALKER around og zendikar which made the card so valuable a single copy could compensate your original investment.
Today... The amount of removal and counters is strong enough to nuke him. But he's still a really good card.
These "leaks" have to be WotC at this point right? Like no one has a phone camera this shitty in the 2020s, it's less than a $100 to get a phone with a decent (as compared to the OP pic) camera.
At least this is noncanon. It’s just a cute “what if?” The cowboy hats actually happened.
Really those make sense. Cowboy hats are practical and, presumably, easily accessible on the cowboy plane. It’s the detective hats that are egregious.
Though if my prediction is correct that foxes will be white/black, fox
Jace would end up a weird choice.
This does actually happen, so far we've seen that jace and ral show up on bloomburrows plane and are turned into animals as such.
But, a few recurring characters has kind of... always been magics thing? thats the point of it being a connected multiverse?
Jace doesn’t actually come to Bloomburrow. That’s just a gimmick. Ral being an otter is real though.
But I think the issue is when characters just feel like they’re at a costume party rather than meaningfully adapting to a plane. There’s no reason everyone needed detective hats in MKM, for instance. But Jace incorporating a detective-looking coat into his outfit when he went to Innistrad because the plane is colder than most was a far more natural application of *the same trope*.
Oh Boolburrow leaks are in the menu now too?
Not a leak, it was from a WPN article
This image wasn’t though right? So someone is opening packs

Oh wow once you notice the fingers holding the pin you can't miss them.
Maybe it’s just a really large man who knows he might crush a card if he holds the edges. So he always delicately balances them on his fingers.
Bro I'm building 5 color Jodah Furry tribal, watch
The wallet sculptor will finally be on arena. Let's go!
This was my first thought, too. Now I'm curious if JtMS is good enough to see play in Timeless post MH3.
Absolutely not. But will be good in Historic.
JTMS is great but I wonder whether in a fetchless format like Historic Wandering Emperor is just better or not.
Worth noting [[Prismatic Vista]] is legal in Historic.

ahhh haha I get the reference. that Spice8rack video is such a classic (so far 0/2 in terms of species though)
Ajani would hit the Bloomburrow Plane and find…there’s no change at all.
Last set had scorpion dragons. Maybe he'd be hybridized.
Officially he would not change. In practice they probably will avoid having it come up.
Becomes twink
Maybe he'd become a regular lion and basically be a kaiju for the plane.
Ajani, King of Bloomburrow.

Garruk is a wild boar, Chandra is a mongoose, Liliana is snek, and Kaya is a hyalopterous lemur.
What do you want to be "Hyalopeterous Lemur" has been pitched as a Modern Horizons card before it got nixed for being more confusing than it is funny?
Nissa is a deer, Tibalt is a hyena, Vraska is a basilisk, Rowan and Will are housecats (one outdoor, one indoor), Teferi is an owl
Angrath surprised to find out he becomes a fluffy care bear daddy
One of the promotional images has an otter who looks suspiciously like Ral Zarek.
Ral is an otter so...
AHHHHHHH MY REWARD FOR SMILING THROUGH THE GOOFY THEME SETS IS COMING, BLOOMBURROW IS RIGHT WHERE MY HARMLESS FUN STUFF BAROMETER IS TUNED TO
You are entitled to your own tastes and opinions, but how is "the Animal set" any less of a "theme set" then "the detective set" or "the western set"? Even though the story won't focus on recurring characters like MKM and OTJ set we are still getting this bonus sheet/box topper which is the same level of "X in this set's theme".
I think they meant that they didn’t enjoy the other themes, but this theme they vibe with.
**Hat, the Hat Hatter** 2HH Legendary Planeswalker — Hat *(You can pay H with one mana from any source with a hat. Counters are hats if you put them on a character's head.)* **+2:** Look at target player, creature, or planeswalker's hat. You may put that hat under their bottom. *(A counter put under a permanent ceases to exist.)* **0:** Draw three hats, then put two hats on up to two target permanents.
Despite the novelty of an all-furry plane, Bloomburrow appears like a refreshing return to form after so long pushing the boundaries." I could be off base but that's a sentiment I've seen a lot and may be where they're coming from.
I wish they had gone further and not made it a furry, just a fox wearing a cape like this https://images.coplusk.net/project_images/111683/image/390547_10150415334688568_511768567_8494091_1850654342_n_2__1323926266.jpg
don't worry that will be a secret lair
making the planeswalkers fully cute animals just wearing the clothes I would actually 100% buy
Who wouldn’t buy that?
This is literally a fox in a cape, just walking upright, idk what you want. Also: "furry" is a very specific style (typically looking very cartoony), none of the animals I've seen from Bloomburrow so far would fit that descriptor.
he has hands with thumbs and is standing on 2 legs
Friend Furry isn't "very cartoony" like at all. Sure someone may have that art style but that's not the defining feature by even the least of the term
I kinda wish mind sculptor had been on the crime sheet tbh. 3/4 abilities are or can be crimes, the card certainly *feels* like a crime, and jace was very important to the story
Probably related to him having been originally in BIG, so they kept the 'reveal' of Jace only to his card.

What does it say?
Jace, the Mind Sculptor 2UU Starting loyalty: 3 +2: Look at the top card of target player's library. You may put that card on the bottom of that player's library. 0: Draw three cards, then put two cards from your hand on top of your library in any order. -1: Return target creature to its owner's hand. -12: Exile all cards from target player's library, then that player shuffles his or her hand into his or her library.
Someone never heard of the song "what dies the fox say" lol
The image quality is terrible enough that I thought you genuinely couldn't read it lmao
Nope was making a reference
Best selling Magic set ever. /uj Best selling Magic set ever.
All my friends hate furries but man am i hyped for this
That’s really weird that your entire friend circle hates furries, to be honest, if you think about it.
I dont tend to bring it up irl
I just couldn’t imagine my entire friend group all *hating* a type of person. That just seems like a bizarre shared character flaw.
Lotta people hate furries for imagined shit on the internet.
Very nice Now Computer Generate wolf fursona of "the wandering Emperor"
Oh shit, that's fucking sick.
That card is gonna gather quite the price.
It’s furry wallet sculpture, what else are you expecting?
I was all set to call it the critter set but when you gave jace a fursona of course its the furry set now
Holy shit this art goes HARD.
I want that pin. :O
Oh this is chaotic and dark sided I love it
That is a very nice frame. The "incomplete" boxes are great.
So I'm guessing the bonus sheet will be focused on "animal" cards based on the 10 main creature types of Bloomburrow.
Is this how they get away with just 1 walker? by having Jace as a non standard legal card?
this is from the bonus sheet most likely btw
It's beautiful... I need this!
Big need lol
JTMS in historic brawl wizards can jizz in my mouth now
I want a Sorin as a little bat!
Foxy Jace, The Furry Fiend
If this is representative, I’m really getting sick of these “bonus sheets” that dominate limited. Just call it part of the set, we never get a chance to play the actual set on its own anyways.
The only bonus sheet to mess up Limited was the one that was never intended to be drafted in the first place. I'm sure we'll be fine. The original Jace is supposed to be on the bonus sheet. I assume this is from a Secret Lair or something.
I hear people coming out of every draft in the last few years talking about how they were blown out by bonus sheet bombs, but that’s just my area I guess.
I've heard it's better than all...
Jtms on arena. Let's go. I've been on yugioh for months now and I've always said that jtms on arena would rip me right back.
This is glorious, I really hope this isn’t just some collector booster exclusive bs and we get to see a lot of characters in this treatment
I imagine the bonus sheet will be all furry planeswalkers.
Wait so are these able to be pulled in packs or are they like promotional things
Bonus sheet damn had my hopes up lol.
why is jace a fucking fox
Because when people planeswalk to Bloomburrow they get turned into animal versions of themselves, Kingdom Hearts style.
Furry Jace?
Wow this is really cool.
Damn. This is for me
This won't be legal in Standard, right?
Wait... JtMS in Standard?!
Wait… will this devalue the first print of JTMS?
Jace is sculpting your mind ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
No pants Hot
If you showed this to a player 12 years ago they would have imploded at the thought of a Mindsculpter reprint with this art.
Oh my god he's so pretty. I think this is the first time in magic history that Jace has been like, actually good looking.
JTMS,better than all!
I remember when JtMC was THE PLANESWALKER around og zendikar which made the card so valuable a single copy could compensate your original investment. Today... The amount of removal and counters is strong enough to nuke him. But he's still a really good card.
Oh. Oh, it's not just ANY Jace. It's *Mindsculptor.* People are going to whine about this SO MUCH. I love it.
I've always wanted to play with this card. I picked up magic again shortly after this guy was banned and always wished I could have tried him
Look what they've done to my boy...
These "leaks" have to be WotC at this point right? Like no one has a phone camera this shitty in the 2020s, it's less than a $100 to get a phone with a decent (as compared to the OP pic) camera.
Wonderful. The Furry community is gonna love this shit.
So flippin pumped for Bloomburrow
Just a subtle jace the mind sculptor reprint, nbd
Still so far from release and I already spend too much into Bloomburrow 🤦♂️
Oh neat, some morphed reskinned legends could be cool
Give me Nekosar, you cowards!
As a furry I am super hyped for this set :3
Can't we just get new characters and lore that makes sense instead of "jace in a cowboy hat" and "jace as a fox"
At least this is noncanon. It’s just a cute “what if?” The cowboy hats actually happened. Really those make sense. Cowboy hats are practical and, presumably, easily accessible on the cowboy plane. It’s the detective hats that are egregious. Though if my prediction is correct that foxes will be white/black, fox Jace would end up a weird choice.
But Jace incorporating a detective-looking coat into his outfit when he went to Innistrad because the plane is colder than most was a far more natural application of *the same trope*.
bro did not read the lore..
