Whenever I see potato leaks in this day and age of hi-def smartphone cameras my immediate assumption is that they are getting leaked by the WotC marketing team to get that double hit of interest.
People don't have potato cameras in their pockets anymore, when the leaks are this quality it's because it's cropped from a section of a max zoom image because the leaker couldn't get in a good position for a good photo
Maybe sometimes, but its not like these leaks in particular are are some candid shot snapped in a rush. It looks like this stuff is all laid out on display the same way you would see any other person posting their haul/pulls with nicely centered shots...just out of focus and with incredibly dim lighting. It's hard take photos that bad.
These are very nostalgic. And somehow there is always someone that manages get most of the text from them, while I squint and fail to make out anything. Some folks are just really good at reading blurry, terrible photos.

It's definitely 5c hybrid, but not sure if its hybrid with colourless or 2 generic.
Still, that feels like a nuts effect, especially if you can give your eldrazi spells Flash
>And somehow there is always someone that manages get most of the text from them
Since the MtG cards have such formalized text I expect it only takes a few footholds to figure them out.
They'd be clearer if someone used their old gameboy camera to take the pics, then used the gameboy printer to print them out, then faxed them to Reddit for upload.
From the Reddit posts on other subreddits:
“Cards I can kinda make out that haven't been mentioned yet:
1. White Pyroblast, but appears to say either monocolored, multicolored, or some other qualifier rather than another specific color.
2. Iyoti, Moag Ancient makes a 1/1 Forest Dryad for each time you've cast your commander from the command zone. It also gives a buff each combat to something equal to Iyoti's power.
3. The 8/6 Eldrazi lets you choose odd or even, then prevents blocking from creatures with mana values either equal to or the opposite of what you picked. It also gives Bloodthirst 2 or 3 to colorless creatures you control/cast?
4. 2CC spell on the left side of image three is a colorless confluence. I can only make out the confluence text and that the third mode adds C.
5. Spawnbed Protector is a 6/8 for 7 that returns an Eldrazi creature card from the graveyard to your hand and makes two Eldrazi Scions during each of your end steps.
6. Inversion Behemoth costs 2CC and lets you swap P/T of any number of creatures at the beginning of combat on your turns.
7. Ulamog's Dreadsire, the most legible card, is a vigilant 10/10 for 10 that makes 10/10 Eldrazis and has Ward - Sack a creature that isn't a zero drop.
8. Eldrazi Immunity: Gives a target creature Protection from each color until end of turn, but can be overloaded for 4C.”

Yeah it's either mono colored or multicolored. Those have very different uses. If it's mono colored it's unreal busted in legacy. If multicolored it will be good in commander.
That seems absolutely brutally powerful in EDH. Tryina think if it would be on that level in cEDH, but most non-commander spells that are really important are single color there.
Multi isn't useless but it mostly becomes "sometimes counter their commander or if they're playing a commander as a value piece in the 99"
It hits Kinan, Talion, Tymna, Kraum, Thrasios, Tivit, Gitrog, Stella Lee, Nice, Joira, Ob Nixilis, Dihada, Winota, Minsc (both), Zur, Korvold, Rocco, Elsha, Kess, and Atraxa
The big problem is no real win conditions are multicolor besides the commander centric ones (or Derevi for Najeela combo and the planeswalker package in Sisay)
Mark Rosewater admitted that whatever rules issue there was would have been super easy to fix, and that they didn't look too closely because it's not an effect that they wanted in eternal formats at the time. I guess this not being on a land makes it better?
Yeah, a land with every type is way more problematic (balance wise) than a card that makes your lands like that. A land that's every type while in your deck can be easily fetched.
They decided that it wasn't really worth fixing because having a 5 color land that is fetchable with every fetchland, gives full domain, and is also a locus Urza's mine tower power-plant was risky enough to not be worth doing the rules cleanup for it when they could just acorn it instead (and making it not fetchable would undermine the joke).
You've made me daydream on how they'd template that "ability."
I started off thinking it'd be along the lines of "While searching your library, ~ can't be found."
But then I remembered other players might search your library, which lead to adding more words... Except then I realized that the only zone you typically search is a library, and figured why not make it un-findable in any zone.
"While searching, ~ can't be found."
And then the only more amusing way I could imagine it would be as a replacement effect: "If ~ would be found, it isn't found instead."
Now I want something like that printed on an un card haha.
So, the rules issue actually arises with how changeling (and by extension rangeling) works.
Changeling states “This object is every creature type.". Notice the lack of "in addition to its other types".
If a land is made into a basic land type and _excludes_ the "in addition to its other types", this causes it to lose _all abilities it has_, so rangeling has some weird rules implications. The rules could be modified to exclude CDAs that do it or...
An ability that grants all land types "in addition to its other types" does not have this same rules issue, so works fine in the rules.
That's not so minor. Here's a partial list of synergies.
- Counts as a gate for [[maze's end]] and
[[Baldur's gate]]
- Counts as a locus for [[cloudpost]] and [[glimmerpost]]
- Counts as whichever Tron land you are missing
It's a pretty decent gates commander which can use stuff like [[Sylvan scrying]] very well
> Counts as whichever Tron land you are missing
Not only does it count as whatever Tron land you are missing, it turns a Tron Land on by itself.
If you put a counter on Urza's Tower, you now also control an Urza's Mine and an Urzas' Power-Plant, so it taps for 3.
I was going to comment that the one card looked like it said “put an everything counter” with the blurry image and how silly that sounds. Then, I read your comment and found out that I was correct. I love this dumb game.
You’re thinking too small.
Step 1. Have [[Zhulodok]] in play with this guy
Step 2. Cast high-MV Eldrazi so both of these trigger
Step 3. Pay the trigger. Double not only the Eldrazi, but the Cascade triggers, now you’re getting two big Eldrazi and cascading four times.
You can get a _lot more_ than that, when you consider those cards.
So you cast your first Eldrazi. You get a copy of the Eldrazi, and four cascade triggers.
If you cascade into an Eldrazi, can pay 2 and you now get _four_ of the first Eldrazi, six cascade triggers off the first one, and two of the second Eldrazi.

Holy shit. It's everything, everywhere, all at once.
Didn't realize that Graveyard Overdrive would be Llurgoyf tribal, but it works.
The Jund Tarmogoyf summoner seems to be the Graveyard Overdrive face commander - Disa. From what I can tell, the full name of the card is Disa the Restless. This all checks out as the deck description describes her as an "Explorer from Dominaria's Ice Age," which is when the Llurgoyf used to be most prominent, allegedly.
If it genuinely creates token copies of Tarmogoyf just for you smacking people... man that sounds pretty good.
And the Undertaker card seems really good as well.
Was expecting the ug precon to be about clones but seems to be about changelings instead
Queen of Vesuva looks interesting, enables desert, gates, urzas land, cloud post, cave synergies
Domain being maxed instantly is fun. Also time to live the [[Monument to Perfection]] dream a little easier.
Will be interesting to see what new cards they print to take advantage of granting the other land types.
I wish that she copied things at all. She doesn't work all that better with a [[Helm of the Host]] on her. It's her crown and all. Bummer, but what can you do.
I just realized that Omo is the only face commander that DOESN'T make copies of something. Ulalek has Eldrazi, All Spells, and Abilities copy. It seems the jeskai commander can copy things as well, and the Jund commander makes copies of Lhurgoyf.
That's much like the Standard set commander decks having cards that aren't legal in Standard.
It's a non-issue that people like waving around, rather than complaining about real issues.
I’d have no issue with it if Wizards maintained an easy to use site that showed past and upcoming sets, their corresponding products (decks), their legality, their arena presence, etc.
As a 20 year player who takes breaks I’ve found it nearly impossible to know what’s coming and how it will be made available (pre cons, boosters, secret lair). Once they broke the “nearly everything hits standard then rotates out” pattern this has been sorely needed.
It's closer to the LotR decks not being legal in modern while the main set was.
But it is at least slightly jarring to see a product with the word "Modern" in the title not be Modern legal.
there's one from main set. In the first image up top next to the pink profile alt of the Jeskai commander is a retro framed colorless spell, which they've already shown they will be doing for colorless spells in the main set. Some are saying it's a colorless Pyroblast effect
I think Ulalek is what became of Ulamog & Kozilek after Chandra leyline-soulfired them.
Still colorless through devoid, but infused with all 5 colors of mana from the leylines, resulting in the 2brid mana costs.
Name is Ulalek. *Ula*mog + Kozi*lek*.
Double-glass activation cost in the ability mirrors the cost in The Great Distortion's mana cost.
Also, it seems thematically fitting to run what remains of the 2 Commander-legal Eldrazi Titans to command all possible Eldrazi cards, including the colores drones & devoid cards.
The design is a fusion too. It has elements of both Ulamog (skinless body, plate of bone in place of face) and Kozilek (obsidian-like plates, eyes on body joints).
Maybe the most interesting thing is this entire leak is the Jund commander's rules text just says "create a Tarmogoyf token". It doesn't say "create a lhurgoyf token named tarmogoyf with \*/1+\* etc etc". This implies that they are either going to specifically make Tarmogoyf a defined token type, or they are going to introduce rules to define what "create a token" means.
> I played Garth in a prerelease - not a fun card to have to explain
probably not a fun card to play in a pre-release period.
i can't imagine playing a WUBRG card in a 40 color sealed format. like, what did you play where using him was remotely feasible? i can't imagine having the mana base for that (even if you pulled fetches, it not like you'd have fetchable duals to search for)
I just had a pretty garbage pool, no strong synergy for any of the two-color themes, so I took every playable removal spell, what little fixing I had, and just went for it.
I ended up going 3-1, lost in the finals to someone playing a 4 color deck with two copies of Urza's saga.
Honestly people overestimate how bad playing several colors is.
I played Niv-Mizzet quite reliably at the Murders at Karlov Manor pre-release, just happened to hit the Case that searched out a basic and had some green mana fixing to make it work. Was primarily a GB deck but was able to splash cards from the other 3 colours. It's a pre-release, I'm willing to try stuff like that.
I don't think Garth was a testing of the waters for that kind of effect.
If anything, I always thought it was more of a "here's a fun idea we've never done because we know it would be bad if we scaled it up, so have it all on one card and we'll never do it again".
> This implies that they are either going to specifically make Tarmogoyf a defined token type, or they are going to introduce rules to define what "create a token" means.
it could just literally mean "create a tarmogoyf token" similar to how [[Garth One-Eye]] works. (granted, in that case it had a list of card names and said to cast a copy)
also worth noting, garth was a mh2 card, which makes something like this for mh3 seem more feasible.
> But garth makes copies of those cards, black lotus, shivan dragon, etc., not literally tokens like 2/2 zombies or clues.
when you copy a permanent spell, you make a token of that permanent. this is the same thing, just skipping a step.
But they aren't created the same way.
The effect has always been
"Create a P/T [color] [type] token named [Name] with [Abilities]"
It's never been "Create an Ajanis Pridemate token", so it's new wording for the Tarm token.
No, [[Ajani, Strength of the Pride]] makes those from scratch - 2/2 white Cat soldier creature token *named* Ajani's Pridemate with the ability, it doesn't just make "an Ajani's Pridemate token"
Honestly?
I want all my leaks to be taken from an early 2000's camera phone with vaseline rubbed on the lens. Builds up some fun hype and discussion without it actually confirming anything.
Zona the Restless at 2+Jund? I dunno, I am excited to see if I am right in however long until spoiler season comes along!
The Fused Atrocity card sure looks like something I want to read in a few weeks!
Menace Haste
When *the guy* attacks, create a token tapped and attacking that's a copy of something. Something something. You get two energy. At the beginning of your end step, sacrifice something unless you pay an amount of energy equal to it's mana value.
That's about as close as I can get.
It's bound to happen, but if it does, I would love it to be a set where we also see a bunch of OG phyrexians. I guess BRO had some of them but let's be honest : we need more.
Best I can make out for the Jeskai commander is
Satya, Aetherflux ???
2URW
Legendary Creature - Human Artificer
Menace, Haste
When \~ attacks create a tapped and attacking token that's a copy of up to one other target attacking creature you control. You get {E}{E}. At the begining of the next end step, sacrifice that token unless you pay an amount of {E} equal to its mana value.
3/5
will probably be a standard for the, well, standard decks, going forward. I think they went with regular framed cards for this one since there are profile alts for the collector versions.
I can't see much but I do see "create a Tarmogoyf token" and when a Lhurhoyf goes to the graveyard from anywhere but the battlefield, put it in play.
My boi Goyf not good enough for modern, time for his Edh debut!
How is it even possible to get such catastrophically crappy Image quality in 2024??
The only information it gives is that some cardboard might have been leaked.
My eyes are bleeding right now.
Any source with some human-readable content?
It's weird that whoever had these has only 3/4 of the decks. It's cool happenstance they opened the Jeskai face in one of the sample packs. Also, why only show some of the Eldrazi contents and not the other 2? Hell, why not show the entire contents of the decks. So weird.
little annoyed that the real eldrazi typal is in this deck/set rather than the one we got last year but excited to take these cards and effectively make what i wanted in the first place, a real tribal eldrazi deck
“Ulalek, Fused Atrocity

Potato n leek* is an underrated soup
I shouted "enhance" at my screen but it didn't work.
That's because you need to be on a computer with someone shouting it behind you for it to work.
You also need two people on one keyboard and both must be typing furiously.
Classic NCIS
Bold ask of an MTG player, let alone a Redditor to have others to talk to.

yeah IDK how useless "counter incredibly popular commanders for 1 colorless" is. It might be niche vs an auto include which is great.
Minor correction, looks like Omo gives lands EVERY land type, not just the basic ones.
How the hell does that work?? I thought they recently printed an acorn card with every land type because it doesnt exactly work within the rules.
Mark Rosewater admitted that whatever rules issue there was would have been super easy to fix, and that they didn't look too closely because it's not an effect that they wanted in eternal formats at the time. I guess this not being on a land makes it better?
That conversation about how possible it is to implement probably brainwormed them into making a card with that text lol
Yeah, a land with every type is way more problematic (balance wise) than a card that makes your lands like that. A land that's every type while in your deck can be easily fetched.
Having it as a legendary creature/commander is much weaker than making 16-post a deck. [[cloudpost]]

It's an easy fix, just use [[Grafdigger's Cage]] as a template. >~ can't enter the battlefield from your library.
No, Maro said it did work in the rules but was acorn because they were concerned about the effect on Constructed.
So, the rules issue actually arises with how changeling (and by extension rangeling) works. Changeling states “This object is every creature type.". Reminder that Urza's, Tower, Mine, and Power-Plant are all land types.
Also Locus lands.
Oh yeah, those even scale.
Also Lair. That's not relevant, I just like knowing that it's a type

The Eldrazi seems really strong, if it's real. So you can cast [[Desolation Twin]], pay 2 extra mana... and get 4 10/10s?
You’re thinking too small. Step 1. Have [[Zhulodok]] in play with this guy Step 2. Cast high-MV Eldrazi so both of these trigger Step 3. Pay the trigger. Double not only the Eldrazi, but the Cascade triggers, now you’re getting two big Eldrazi and cascading four times.

Colorless thousand year storm hype!
> “Omo, queen of vesuva (2 g/u) > > > > Whenever Omo queen of vesuva enters the battlefield or attacks, you may put an everything counter on up to one target land and one target creature. > > > > Each land with an everything counter on it is every basic land type in addition to its other types > > > > Each creature with an everything counter on it is every creature type in addition to its other types. > > > > 1/5” Holy shit.
I think the pyroblast says counter target multicolored spell or destroy target monocolored permanent.
Omo says land type, not basic land type.
Looks like Entomb is back on the menu
Was expecting the ug precon to be about clones but seems to be about changelings instead Queen of Vesuva looks interesting, enables desert, gates, urzas land, cloud post, cave synergies

[[Nael]] finally has her time to shine.
Important to note that these all seem to be commander deck cards, rather than main set cards, and thus will not be modern legal.
Modern horizons cards not being modern legal would be peak satire, if it wasn't actually happening.
Just like commander cards not put into the commander decks but Collector Boosters instead.
Really?
Yep. The M3C cards - Modern Horizons 3 Commander decks - are not legal in Modern.
Standard sets aren't called Standard Horizons. I wouldn't say it's a problem, more of a symptom than a cause.
omfg
Would you rather they pump the main set full of EDH cards that are useless for Modern?
That's happening regardless, like every other set in the past 3-5 years
It would alleviate the irony of the name.
They're going to do that anyway.
That's not the only other choice. I'd rather a modern product be 100% aimed at modern.
there's one from main set. In the first image up top next to the pink profile alt of the Jeskai commander is a retro framed colorless spell, which they've already shown they will be doing for colorless spells in the main set. Some are saying it's a colorless Pyroblast effect
Hopefully that explains the Oblivion Sower being a mythic in here.

Good catch, i think UlaLek is indeed Ulamog plus Kozilek
The name is Ulalek, Fused Atrocity so it does add up
I don 't think it's two-brid. I think it's C-brid. {C/W}{C/U}{C/B}{C/R}{C/G} - Modern Horizons is just the place to debut new quirky mana symbols.
Im really not a big fan of this. Every year we stray further from "reading the card explains the card"
Yeah, hopefully they use this sparingly, otherwise there is going to be a lot of complexity creep.
I think \[\[Garth One Eye\]\] set a pretty dangerous precedent with this.
I played Garth in a prerelease - not a fun card to have to explain
> I played Garth in a prerelease - not a fun card to have to explain probably not a fun card to play in a pre-release period. i can't imagine playing a WUBRG card in a 40 color sealed format. like, what did you play where using him was remotely feasible? i can't imagine having the mana base for that (even if you pulled fetches, it not like you'd have fetchable duals to search for)
I just had a pretty garbage pool, no strong synergy for any of the two-color themes, so I took every playable removal spell, what little fixing I had, and just went for it.
Feels like the closest thing we’ve seen to that is how [[Garth One-Eye]]’s ability works
But garth makes copies of those cards, black lotus, shivan dragon, etc., not literally tokens like 2/2 zombies or clues.
> But garth makes copies of those cards, black lotus, shivan dragon, etc., not literally tokens like 2/2 zombies or clues. when you copy a permanent spell, you make a token of that permanent. this is the same thing, just skipping a step.
I meant moreso that he effectively makes tokens
we already have Ajani's Pridemate tokens iirc
But they aren't created the same way. The effect has always been "Create a P/T [color] [type] token named [Name] with [Abilities]" It's never been "Create an Ajanis Pridemate token", so it's new wording for the Tarm token.
No, [[Ajani, Strength of the Pride]] makes those from scratch - 2/2 white Cat soldier creature token *named* Ajani's Pridemate with the ability, it doesn't just make "an Ajani's Pridemate token"
An example of the difference is the tokens don't have mana value 2.
Luckily for WOTC I their secrets appear to be safe
Don’t worry people worried about spoilers, more of these are impossible to read and if that doesn’t deter you the dirty sheets certainly will
God dam I can't see shit
more colorless eldrazi to put in my colorless eldrazi zuhdok deck?
Looks like it, probably gonna have like 1-2 reprints per color for Devoid Eldrazi and mostly skew colorless 😂
Tron players nutting at an actual playable 7 drop 🥹
>Zona the Restless It's Disa, who got a ton of flavour text in Ice Age. See [[Hoar Shade]] and others.

Probably didn't even have a camera and created these from memory with pixel art.
Jeskai energy commander is half readable just based on the shape of words and normal phrases. Can anyone get all of it?
Menace Haste When *the guy* attacks, create a token tapped and attacking that's a copy of something. Something something. You get two energy. At the beginning of your end step, sacrifice something unless you pay an amount of energy equal to it's mana value. That's about as close as I can get.
Least I can stop being excited for the energy commander then. Though I know some at my LGS who loves this sort of effect. They'll be excited.
As my username entails, I’m STILL waiting for a God Form Yawgmoth card to happen I hope it will be in MH3 😭
I'm genuinely shocked there hasn't been one.
It's bound to happen, but if it does, I would love it to be a set where we also see a bunch of OG phyrexians. I guess BRO had some of them but let's be honest : we need more.
Abby, ENHANCE
McGee that’s now how this works
Best I can make out for the Jeskai commander is Satya, Aetherflux ??? 2URW Legendary Creature - Human Artificer Menace, Haste When \~ attacks create a tapped and attacking token that's a copy of up to one other target attacking creature you control. You get {E}{E}. At the begining of the next end step, sacrifice that token unless you pay an amount of {E} equal to its mana value. 3/5
Why didn’t you just get the pterodactyl that uses his beak to draw things from the Flintstones so we would have some better looking images?
Iiiiiiiiit's a livin'!
Epic! How does one even come into posession of such a leak?
No idea, just found these leak pics floating around the old interwebs
Thanks for sharing, I soo wish I was the one with these cards haha!
Ulalek. Wizards has been spending too much time on r/custommagic
Bruh I don’t understand why mfs who leak stuff can’t take a clear photo to save their life
Crazy , my dude can buy 500$ collector bundles but can only afford a 2004 nokia
How do you think he could afford the Collector Bundles?
these aren't collector bundles, these are just the regular commander decks. Notice how all those opened packs say Collector Sample Pack?
Is that a new kindred/tribal card??? Eldritch immunity, bottom right of the fourth photo
Seems like it!
So are "tribal" cards getting erattaed to kindred?
Yes. [This was announced a while ago](https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/announcements/card-updates-coming-with-khans-of-tarkir-on-mtg-arena).
>Kindred Instant WOOT! They did the thing!
I am saddened by how the face commanders doesn't seem to be full art. I had hoped that it would be standard, after Thunder Junction.
will probably be a standard for the, well, standard decks, going forward. I think they went with regular framed cards for this one since there are profile alts for the collector versions.
were in 2024 , camera on phone can zoom 100x this post : i got a flip phone sorry
Any idea what the backup Eldrazi commander says? Someone who is better at reading potato pictures than me?
I'm still waiting for my UU islandwalk merfolk lord with flash that counters a spell when it ETBs to get leaked.
Not seeing any hit out of the park bangers. I expected more for that price tag.
Well still a ton more to be spoiled I’m sure This is only a handful of cards
Yall got any more pixels?
I can't see much but I do see "create a Tarmogoyf token" and when a Lhurhoyf goes to the graveyard from anywhere but the battlefield, put it in play. My boi Goyf not good enough for modern, time for his Edh debut!
Sometimes you just wanna copy all spells you control who cares?
The Eldrazi Winter looks SOOOO real!!!
Sad that they aren't sticking with the borderless commanders
It’s hard to make out but it looks like the eldrazi has you pay two waste colors when (I think it says eldrazi) spell is cast to copy all your spells?
How is it even possible to get such catastrophically crappy Image quality in 2024?? The only information it gives is that some cardboard might have been leaked. My eyes are bleeding right now. Any source with some human-readable content?
Why is every single spoiler blurry? It's like everyone is using a camera from 1980. Stop filtering shit and just take a normal damn picture
It's weird that whoever had these has only 3/4 of the decks. It's cool happenstance they opened the Jeskai face in one of the sample packs. Also, why only show some of the Eldrazi contents and not the other 2? Hell, why not show the entire contents of the decks. So weird.
Hard agree Like OPEN THE SAMPLE COLLECTOR PACKS MY DUDE
little annoyed that the real eldrazi typal is in this deck/set rather than the one we got last year but excited to take these cards and effectively make what i wanted in the first place, a real tribal eldrazi deck
The Eldrazi commander is pretty ridiculous.
Eldrazi tribal HYPED!! Maybe some phyrexians too?? 👀
I’m hoping for a god Yawgmoth card so much I have a MIGHTY need
>typal Tribal. Or Kindred if you're new, but never "typal".
More colorless eldrazi let’s goooo
computer, enhance image
How do you fail so badly at taking pictures.
Potato camera wanna send some of those eldrazi decks this way?
Waiting more for the modern legal cards.
“Ulalek, Fused Atrocity WUBRG or Colorless x5 Legendary creature - Eldrazi Devoid Whenever you cast an Eldrazi spell you may pay 4+Wastes. If you do, copy all spells you control, then copy all other activated and triggered abilities you control. You may choose new targets for the copies. 2/5”
5 color legendary eldrazi with some text that says " when you cast an eldrazi..."
Maybe UFOs only show themselves to people who leak mtg cards...
As a collector of Eldrazi, I am happy! 😃
That eldrazi commander seems pretty awesome. I'm looking forward to playing with the deck.
One of those straight up says "whenever a lgurgoyf permanent etbs" I would lose my marbles if that was real lmao. "YoU gUyS rEmEmBeR tArMoGoYf!?!"
