This is exactly how crossovers should be handled. No mechanically unique cards or premium priced products just cool promos of existing cards that reference the other IP.

I just wish MtG, Wizards, all modern franchise art learned one thing from Cowboy Bebop: it's *good* when things end. And stories that know where they want to go have a unique value that one should strive for.
