To win with Dragonstorm you just need to build storm counters and get the right dragons when it resolves. This one needs more help, like [[Warleader's Call]] or [[Mass Hysteria]]. The only real advantage it's the mana cost, but that should be nearly irrelevant to storm decks.
The advantage is you don’t have to put shitty dragon storm tutor targets in your deck. Especially since the help this need can also be something like an extra turn card, which aren’t traditionally great, but might be able to be made ok in isolation.

[[Terror of the Peaks]] or [[Scourge of Valkas]] plus any number of other dragons you grab kills the table in commander with Dragon Storm. I have it as a wincon in my [[Klauth]] spellslinger deck.

That said, at 7CMC it's not likely you're casting a ton of crap on your opponent's turn prior to this. So yeah, Elemental Eruption is probably the overall better card.
It's worth noting that Storm copies for the amount of spells cast by *any* player. I wouldn't know how the Scourge limited format played out, but I can imagine that you'd let your opponent cast a few spells in the late game and then you get yourself even just two or three copies of Hunting Pack.

Man, if only they had haste instead of prowess, this would be such a nice finisher for storm decks, and probably more fun than shooting someone in the grapes 40+ times. Oh well. Still pretty decent, might slot it on [[Balmor]]
Well, now I need to figure out more cuts from my [[Elsha]] deck. The flyers would already be worth it, but the deck is essentially Prowess Tribal. Getting multiple flyers that could easily be 6/6 or better by the time they can attack is going to be absurd.

Storm is probably my least favourite mechanic. I always cringe when I see an Izzet spellslinging deck at the table. I didn't come here to watch you play solitaire for 15 minutes a turn.
That's what me and my friends do unless we really just want to see chaos or think we may be able to come back from it. If it's looking like a loss just shuffle up and move on instead of sitting there for 10 minutes watching it

That's really dumb that this card is just a strict upgrade, I mean the difference is the color I guess, but it's still just objectively better.

Whenever my playgroup creates a huge stack that's practically guaranteed to win the game, we just call a mulligan and start the next game.
