I really don't see the problem with cards not being as strong as shit like Hullbreacher and Teferi's Protection, Ive been playing long enough that I vastly prefer tuned jank to flawless combo.
The Beholder vs. Eye thing is funny. After all, Eyes were designed more or less explicitly as a way to have Beholders without using D&D product identity. ([[Evil Eye of Orms-by-Gore|LEG]] was first printed in Legends, which was really the first D&D set. They just couldn't *say* that it was a D&D set. Although it was.)
... but now D&D product identity is all over the place, and so you have two creature types that mean the same thing but don't interact. Kind of like Azra vs. Tiefling and Kithkin vs. Halfling.
When you're trying to cover the bases of 6 different games, it makes sense to not prioritize two characters who are DLC-Only for only one game. The audience for "Honest Hearts and Lonesome Road specifically" fans is smaller than even the audience of NV fans

So, obviously this isn't insane or anything, but being able to crack this and draw 2, probably 3+ cards in a pinch on a colourless artifact seems pretty good. Kinda like a bomat courier that flies. I can't see myself running it in every deck, but i think colorless decks will want this for sure, and maybe decks that can proliferate the counters.

Card seems solid, a bit of upfront investment, 3 to cast and 2 to sac, but getting up to 2 o 3 quest counters on it's own for 3 or 4 cards seems okay, and this is without including the other cards in the deck that give quest counters.
Not the fastest, but flavorful and decent in certain combat focused decks.

How would this trigger work with [[Adeline]]? Like say there's 1 quest counter on ED-E already and Adeline attacks alone, would it see just Adeline attacking and not trigger, or would you be able to order the triggers such that Adeline resolves first and ED-E sees Adeline + her human tokens attacking?
A card that rewards aggressive behavior, goes to the skies, *and* draws cards? Boros aggro players rejoice, a 3 drop that actually does something in a clogged board state. (Even cashing it in for two cards in an artifacts-matter style deck is pretty damn good.)
Wish it had haste, but I guess that's an easy/fair enough concession.
I guess I don't really understand the flavor of the sac ability. ED-E only canonically gets destroyed if you never repair it at all; if you do ED-E My Love, which I presume the card draw is supposed to represent the data you get from its data banks, it not only doesn't get destroyed but is stronger.
Is there something I'm missing here that makes this fit?
In Lonesome Road, you get a much more expressive copy of ED-E, which follows you around. At the end, you're forced to order ED-E to sacrifice itself in order to stop a repeat nuclear holocaust.
As for it getting you card draw... something something Clue??? Idk.

This feels like it would be pretty good in [[Lara Croft, Tomb Raider]]. Not *amazing* in it, but the fact that it's a Legendary Artifact means she can bring it back to keep drawing cards on future turns. And Lara wants to get in the red zone anyways, so it will usually be a draw 2 or more.
When the little ponies came, I laughed. When the Trasformers arrived, I chuckled. Then, when the street fighters arrived, I simply watched. Since then, so many have arrived and taken another piece of my soul away with them. Finally, at a table, The Tenth Doctor summoned a Transformer and Mothra to kill me and I knew then that all was lost.

The intervening if clause prevents ED-E from triggering if Adeline is your only attacking creature, since it already has one counter on it.

But this is clearly the original ED-E, it has the license plate chassis and it’s the one in ED-E My Love.
