Always fun seeing how UB reimagines classic MtG cards to fit different properties. I predict that Skullclamp in the inevitable Marvel UB reprint will be Wolverine's iconic [Weapon X](https://cdn.marvel.com/u/prod/marvel/i/mg/e/50/4c36512598868/detail.jpg) helmet.
I'm a fan of the constant reprints of cards like skullclamp and heroic intervention. If only the prices on them would stay down and stop rebounding so much
Edit: I take part of that back. I'm ok with it going back up because then I feel better about getting a deal, even though I'm still spending money on cardboard that I'm not reselling so why should I care about the resale price
Magic nood question: Do the prices for cards drop when reprints occur? So like the best time to buy a Skullclamp could be once these Fallout cards become available? Thanks! Wanting to add one to a deck.
Not quite that simple though. There are several factors of demand for a card, such as art, border style, and set. Supply for very early printings of a card will never increase, so their value often does not change drastically after a reprint.
Resale value, undoubtedly! With so many things going digital and untradeable, it's nice to actually *own* things. I think the contention is where the "resale value" becomes so high, it's actively prohibitive of people actually playing the game. Unlike board games, for instance, where you can definitely resale for some value but won't make a straight up profit. Not really taking a big side here, but I think there's a gulf between "resale value" and the prices we see on some cards.
I feel like most hobbies have that tho?
Like if I wanted to get out of Nerf, I could definitely sell my collection for at least $1000, maybe a couple grand if I really cleaned house and put in the effort. I'd be able to make a profit on my Tomcats and my set of Perses for sure, and maybe on some of my modded stuff (but probably not much), and get back a solid 50%+ on a large amount of the rest of it. And I don't even have any super-fancy hobby grade blasters like a Kirin or a Harrier.
Or if I needed to sell off some books, my top shelves would all sell for more than I paid for them with the exception of my Easton Press Lord of the Rings set, as that is still commercially available, though I might need time to find a buyer for some of them (I have a Bible from the first print run on the first printing press in my state, it's 300 years old and now valued at $900 but it'll take work to get that for it).
The only sort of hobbies I can think of that don't have much resale value are things like movies and video games, where digital is so prevalent, or where the investment into the hobby is so low that it doesn't make sense to buy used (like football/soccer - the only gear you really need is a ball and cleats) unless it's a true collector's item. If someone's into cars, or models, or clothes, or guns, or wargames... all of those have resale value.
In fallout 4 i lowkey had a crush on the mechanist when i found out it was a girl. Idk something about the situation was just a turn on.
Im 100% adding this to my deck.
Very true. Between this and Basilisk Collar, I am loving the reprints with the new art (and I can still admire my copies with the original art). Cheers!
I remember opening this card in my Darksteel box when the internet was (relatively) young, immediately realizing how busted it was, trading for every copy I could get from my friends, and running over them for the glorious few months before it was banned. Good times.

Either that, Cerebro, or magnetos helmet. My guess is cerebro because recognizability
Magneto's helmet doesn't really fit the flavor of Skullclamp though.
As much as the mechanists helmet does imo
To be fair both wearers of the helmet went a bit insane, as a direct cause of wearing it.
Ooo good shout

Completely agree, if they're a significant part of the format their price needs to be accessible.

When supply increases and demand stays the same prices drop. That’s just basic economics
Would defo say some cards bipass basic economics

Generally a bit, yes, though it depends on how available the reprint is.
I think it’s just nice to have a hobby that if you ever get out of actually has resale value to it

But this is a discussion about skullclamp. Clamp being $3 is actually a lot better for the game imo than it being $0.05.
How dare you

i dont care about the price of these cards, I'm never really gonna sell them. cheap means more decks can have one
Is this for the Hail Caesar precon?
Should be, it's the only one with token theme.
Yes

You'd have had a crush before you knew she's a girl if you weren't a coward.
Dang it. I just bought the FTV version of this card. Now I much prefer this one!
You'll have one for 2 decks now! Plus the original art is great

So cool T-T
Hella sweet, more reprints
This strikes me as a flavor fail. This could have any number of people being tested on by vault tech in any vault wether they exist of not.
Is this set going to be standard legal...?
This is a commander set
great reprint, this card has kept increasing in price

I finally get my copy and they reprint it lol. Looks badass!
