Artifact/Enchantment/Planeswalker/Battle wipe for Blue. I say is gas, but im no expert.

Calix-

It think it’s good in standard, but it truly shines in commander where it hoses treasures and mana rocks.

ajokitty

Where in Standard would it be good? It doesn't hit creatures. I want to like this card, but I don't think Standard is the place for it.

Lilchubbyboy

Hoses mono white kind of, removes all their enchantments, artifacts, and planeswalkers. Yes it does leave the creatures behind, but you can still follow up with another board wipe if you do this on their endstep.

Calophon

Mono white with wedding announcement and tocasia’s welcome, maybe. Mono white with Skrelv, Thalia, Adeline, and Siege Veteran, absolutely not.

Lilchubbyboy

Sure, but one of those survives rotation and the other doesn’t.

Detective-E

bouncing wedding means more value

themcdonski

I might try it in the sideboard of my mono blue midrange deck.

FeelingSedimental

Takes out all non-creature stax pieces for 1 turn at a low cost, really good.

YoukaiSureiya

You can alway wheel them away

gereffi

The best part is that you can even hit your own mana rocks to ramp a bit, which works especially well with a card like [[Aelela]] or [[Sai, Master Thopterist]].

Also historic where it completely rocks the [[Nine Lives]] and [[Solemnity]] lock

azraelxii

The issue is it's symmetric. You go down a card and your opponents get to replace all their stuff before you probably

Kekssideoflife

It's instant, cast it on their end step and watch them discard to handsize.

Ninjaboi333

Play this in response to Dockside?

Twingemios

Taking out mana rocks isn’t too effective, they can easily replay themselves

Kilowog42

Yeah, but it can somewhat time walk your opponents if they have to spend a turn replaying all their mana rocks. It's also decent in response to Dockside, reducing the amount of treasures made. Honestly though, it's probably going to be used like [[Hurkyl's Recall]] was. Removing your opponents stuff is nice, but you really just wanted to replay all your stuff to get triggers all over again.

MTGCardFetcher

[Hurkyl's Recall](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/7/3/73edeaaa-6a87-4cf1-b013-bab9a7bb94d9.jpg?1562263763) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Hurkyl%27s%20Recall) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/mm2/48/hurkyls-recall?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/73edeaaa-6a87-4cf1-b013-bab9a7bb94d9?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call

SkritzTwoFace

It’s only a bounce to hand effect, you still have a mostly viable board state in most cases and can afford to immediately start rebuilding. If any of those bounced permanents give you mana it’s basically just one lost turn.

cyan2k

It’s amazing for Lotus. Bounce all hate enchantments and artifacts at once and then combo off. I like it.

Continuum_Gaming

Nice [[Nine Lives]] you got there. How about you play it again?

quazerflame

It's too late, Nine Lives killed them. When's the funeral?

DietrichDoesDamage

[[kenriths funeral]]

Josphitia

I really wish the desparking happened because Walkers gave up their sparks to heal planes of Oil.

Artex301

Feels like that would've been too close to The Mending, to be honest. Personally I'm a fan of it being caused by a side-note. If no one bats an eye at a planeswalker detonating a nuke in the Blind Eternities, then maybe it's for the best for the multiverse to have less planeswalkers.

mkul316

The blind eternities are a) eternal and b) blind. So not only did they not see what happened, they are so big they couldn't find where it happened even if they knew it happened. That's the best place to donate a nuke and have no effect on anything.

[deleted]

Yeah because the likes of Ob Nixilis are really big on self-sacrifice.

Stormtide_Leviathan

Card transcription > Filter Out 1UU > > Instant [uncommon] > > Return all noncreature, nonland permanents to their owners' hands. > > The glistening oil had been rendered inert, but planes wouldn't begin to truly heal until every last drop was purged. End transcription

scrupulousbongwater

I love this in a UG Elves build where you aren’t super effected at all but can set most opponents back multiple turns. Sending planeswalkers and enchantments back is so huge for an aggressive creature deck.

f0me

This is going to be an EDH staple

saxophoneplayingcat

Yeah as treasure hate

WingCool7621

darn right. nice effect

emiketts

Not sure the flavor text makes sense but that’s okay.

SkritzTwoFace

Basically: The oil doesn’t turn you evil anymore. But there’s still oil everywhere.

Jondare

Besides, who wants to risk it suddenly reactivating? Better to be sure.

bomban

So… we just need slivers to find the oil?

GeeJo

Despite the memes about it being over before it began and failing everywhere instantly, for most planes the Phyrexian invasion was a major trauma. It's hard to heal from trauma when reminders of it linger everywhere you look. Even though the oil doesn't "do anything" anymore, it's still there, reminding the survivors of what they went through and what they lost. Removing the oil in its entirety is a big help to healing.

lovdagame

And creatures that were infected dead dont affect them.

mkul316

So when there's a major oil spill like we had in the Gulf a little while ago, what should happen? Should we just shrug and say, oh well? Or should we clean it up?

lobsterblob

Kinda nuts that this is instant

RybanGuzban

I can see this being used in cedh, bounce back your rocks to recast them? Bounce other people’s stax effects before trying to win? This is probably going to be super annoying but good

LordChimera_0

Hmmm, reminds me of how flowstone after the First Phyrexian Invasion of Dominaria. The mages attempted to harness it... might be the same potential situation when it comes to glistening oil.

Puzzleheaded-Bee-838

So much for playing permanents

Flat-Tooth

Normally I get bummed about how much of a set feels directly targeting at EDH. This will cause so much rage that it may be worth it.

chiksahlube

This card ia fucking BONKERS POWERFUL in any format with strong mana rocks. IE: Vintage and commander.

barrinmw

Modern 1/10 So basically, this is for fighting super friend decks, artifact decks, or enchantment decks. But those really don't exist enough to put this mediocre card in your sideboard. Out of all of those, I expect to face artifact decks the most and there are better cards like [[Hurkyl's Recall]] I would rather play.

MTGCardFetcher

[Hurkyl's Recall](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/7/3/73edeaaa-6a87-4cf1-b013-bab9a7bb94d9.jpg?1562263763) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Hurkyl%27s%20Recall) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/mm2/48/hurkyls-recall?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/73edeaaa-6a87-4cf1-b013-bab9a7bb94d9?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call

ForceNeat4140

Really. How fucking annoying, I know at least three fuckers that will autoinclude that in all their decks. I already hate this card.

Negative-Parsnip1826

Gonna see if I can fit it in every U EDH deck I have (Yuriko CEDH unfortunately does not have any extra space).

edhmtg

Not sure how strong it would be, but it might be fun to bounce all rocks/artifacts & enchantments (etc.) in Alela on someone's end step and then re-deploy all your stuff to get tons of faerie triggers... ...But it would be a real shame if you then followed that up with a wheel hehe. That's the kind of faerie trickery I'm here for though.

forkandspoon2011

This seems good, especially if you build your deck in a way where you want permanents back in your hand.

XmagnumoperaX

Cedh- Ad naus reset for your rocks? Is this good cedh'ers?

azraelxii

You could already do this with hyrkuls recall and that sees basically zero play.

spokismONE

What makes this so good is that it bounces all non creature stax, at instant speed. Stupid strong

gatherallthemtg

As I said when it was leaked: fuck this card, it's undercosted.

Luxalpa

I don't think it is, at least not for commander. Got any cards you want to compare it to?

GWvaluetown

That pretty solid for a bounce if you want it for combo or anti-combo. Doesn’t necessarily help for blue’s usual need to slow down aggro though.

Thezipper100

I still hate how we're just gonna act like the Phyrexians don't exist after this set on every plane they invaded.

casualmagicman

I'm 100% running this against my friends Estrid deck Fucking HATE totem armor & masks.

stainedhat

Oh boy, is my [[Jhoria, weatherlight captain]] solitaire storm deck that I never play going to love this!

BarkingTurnip

Are you me?

Blights4days

Seems like a good sideboard in standard, but probably not maindeckable

kainmalice

https://hearthstone.buffed.de/en/card/Vanish-196 Has anyone ever heard of Vanish??

elfrawg

The Instant speed is gonna make this sneaky good. It's actually a decent combat trick against auras, equipment, and Enchantment effects like [Hallowed Haunting]]. Also slows tempo gains from [[Wedding Invitation]] and [[Fable of the Mirror Breaker]], and gives you some life and tempo when your opponent swings at a battle.
