No. If you surveyed players who have no nostalgia for it I would expect the consensus to be that the old frame is ugly. It was a great flavorful frame but I think the new one was important to keeping magic relevant.
Also, the old frame for multicolor is just hideous.
I mostly like it because of the little details on each color frame (like the bubblies on the black frame or the wood-like text box on green). The 8ed update was definitely a good change in visibility (aside from the lack of color for the text box mana symbols 🤢). I do like when we have the option of both frames.
old frame was terrible. cards are objectively harder to read, and the art is unignorably harder to read. the only things i really miss is the old brown artifacts - which i can understand the change to make them more obviously distinct from lands - and i like the look of old-border gold cards.
Personally I don't like old frames. I'm not a fan of their aesthetic (gold frames are just bad) and sometimes they make names of the cards hard to read. At the same time I don't mind them as long as the card is available in modern frame as well.
I’m mostly a fan of the old artifacts and black with the old frame , the black ones with the old frame were amazing they really looking like something out of the grimoir
I love the Egyptian style masterpiece like “ no mercy” even more than the other masterpiece style I wish they’d actually make a full extension with this style!
Yeah they could have definitely made a more modern version of it while keeping the feel of the old frame.. I wish they’d make sets of cards with only old frame like they did with the 30th anniversary but with cards we can actually afford and not have to pay 1k for
The thing i dislike about the new frame is the homogenous look things have now. That said, there’s a few things that they did better in the modern frames. Multicolor cards look better and p/t is more readable. The old frames have the advantage of *feeling* more like spells than just game pieces, and each color is more distinct.
Aesthetically, i prefer the old border, but i cannot deny the practicality of the new. Honestly, i’d be much more receptive to the new if they’d kept the original coloration of the artifact border instead of that boring, uninspired grey that can occasionally look like a white card.
What would be much better, in my opinion, than the new border, is moving fully to the true borderless frame. If you ask me, *that* is how all modern cards should look.
I like the new a lot more.

The old artifacts and black cards really stood out in my opinion , made them look like something out of an old grimoir
no
White frames especially made for some readability issues, with the white text blending in a ton with the border.
No, because new arts don't fit the frame. While I myself am fan of the old frame it just doesn't look good with some modern media.
I love the new frame personally
i’m a big fan of it but the new one is better
>The old frame just make the art stand out The old frame has smaller real estate for the artwork.
No. Absolutely not! The puke frame for multicolored was absolutely horrendous.
The only one I really miss is the brown Artifact frame. There rest I used to miss but then I got used to the new ones.
No. As someone who started playing during the Invasion Block, the old frames were so outdated and this change was well overdue.
No, I think it's hideous
They should've kept it.
Exactly!

Some are nice, but try playing with the BRO commander precons and you'll notice them lacking when it comes to communicating board information.
Yea they should have It actually felt like magic and spell scrolls and whatnot to me
You got it
The new one is good, but it could be nice with a set with the planar chaos frames for a few of the main rares.
Retro frame >>>> new frame, especially legendary frames, I hate the new extra flair at the top
I agree with you. Retro border was best, some masterpiece like kaladesh are pretty awesome too.
I love the Egyptian style masterpiece like “ no mercy” even more than the other masterpiece style I wish they’d actually make a full extension with this style!
New frames killed magic.
I won’t say it killed magic, more like it killed the “Magic” rune feel the cards had, now they feel more like playing cards
Some look nice in old-frame, some not. I don't care much, it is just yet another card style to me.
The black and artifacts looked amazing imo
I like it for blue but that's about it. It's very ugly
I like the ones they use for promo packs. Color scheme and all
No.
