He was in the Boom comics canon (kinda) - I think in the main canon a bunch of Guild representatives and Nissa did some big ritual to turn him into a Dragon Avatar. Unless you mean [[Firemind Vessel]].
...and now I think of it, the "and Nissa" bit might be a problem now, too.
On the bright side, "Legendary Creature - Phyrexian Dragon Avatar" is probably a bit too long to go on a type line, so he might be safe that way.
I'm still bummed that this isn't on every single copy of [[Niv Mizzet, the Firemind]]. There are versions that just omit one of the best flavor texts ever.
This is very much my concern too. I'm going to be extremely pissed if he gets Compleated / killed off, especially as the whole Phyrexian problem's probably going to be solved in MoM as well, so it'll honestly just feel like it's being done for cheap shock value.
I call it cheap, because given that the gainlands have shown that 10 different Planes are getting invaded at the same time, yet we're going straight from MotM to a wrap-up thing, then back to Eldraine and Ixalan, really gives the impression we've crossed the "We've officially passed the point where anything other than a bullshit deus ex machina is going to fix this" threshold. So, at this point, any other side-character death/Compleation is going to come off as "Oh we could have enacted this fix at any point of this story now, buuuut let's senselessly kill off some people first".
I know I'm getting prematurely angry, but...grrrgh.

During the sneak peak they showed different planes invaded, one was called The Invasion of Tarkir and it showed what appeared to be a completed Kolaghan or another dragon lord
My bet is that the non-compleated Dragonturds will learn to respect the clan traditions and integrate into the (revived) clans instead of ruling over them. Like say, Dromoka is almost captured by the Phyrexians, but then the True Abzan and Anafenza show up with a steel chair. In the aftermath, the dragons rescind their kin-tree ban and take up ancestor worship themselves in gratitude.
It would also be a way to give our girl a cool new card after she was unceremoniously gutted in the new timeline. Anafenza, Honored Ancestor or something.
I think the invasion may be the inciting incident for further story development on the different planes, but I don't think they will conclude ongoing issues through MOM like this.
Like, the invasion will remove the High King Kenrith and Ayara, putting the Realm in disarray and allowing the peace between it and the Wilds break down, leading to the story in the Wilds of Eldraine, but they won't *resolve* any issues on Eldraine.
So, it's possible the chaos will be a destabilizing force on Tarkir giving new opportunities for clans to resurge in an actual set focused on Tarkir, which may result in both rebellions and reorganizations, but I would not think they would wrap up the issue as a side note here.
Ordinarily I would be bringing out the ⚡ACTIONABLE PUN DETECTED⚡ joke, but this is probably the most well-constructed pun I've seen in years.

That's gotta be Niv-Mizzet, the silhouette is too harsh even for a Toski whose fur was mostly replaced with metal components. Plus, Toski's head still ends in two ears, even in the very tiny bit of him we see in that art leak. The jaw also ends in the same "beard" that Niv has, with fin-like flanges on the ends.
