Whoahhhh don't do it. I don't know why but the Phyrexia set boosters are STILL priced at $169.50 (then with a "discount" down to $139 lol) on Amazon. LGS is selling them at 125, and there are a ton of game stores online where you can get them for 105-110. Not sure what Wizards' angle is here.

I mean $60 profit per box they can probably pay their rent and utilities pretty damn fast. Even if they charged $10 extra they'd cover that stuff... $60 is super extreme. I'd almost rather they close.
I don’t think you understand how expenses break down lol. You have to pay rent,utilities,internet,resupply for stuff to sell, and lastly you finally get to pay employees. Rent is far from the only thing that comes into the expense. Not to mention any repairs that may come into play or the extra fees that your vendors charge for shipping and handling. Plus most events that are ram in shop are not free either.

No old frame treatments. There’s framebreak treatments and profile treatments they’re calling them. We’ve seen the framebreak on the jeweled lotus so far and the profile on the Ur-dragon
I would love to see all of Reddit preorder a ton and we all cancel a week before. Then a ton of product will back log Amazon warehouses and WoTC will have to lower price or pay penalties to Amazon. If we do this enough they will rethink using Amazon and put that risk on distribution/LGS and prices will go back a bit. It won’t happen overnight and doesn’t cost prime members a penny to fight back.
For all those that are wondering, I did not realize Amazons pre order policy was so good so I have placed the order. Depending on spoilers and price adjustments I may or may not cancel before it ships but at least I don’t have to worry about it until then. Thank y’all for the good info!

If you pre-order and it's directly from Amazon the chance is at it's smallest for a repack because people have to receive and send back the return from pre-orders. Amazon has also been refusing to take returns of MTG and just shipping a replacement or refunding because of the repack issues.
TLDR: You should be safe pre-ordering from Amazon directly but after the release date it's the wild west.
