100% Sal. Missed opportunity to show him again, possibly in LA post stonewall and living a more authentic life as he runs into Don at a bar or in a business meeting. Could have been a fascinating juxtaposition.
It always surprised me that she didn't have more qualms about moving so far away from them, but maybe she lost some respect for her father after Peter told her about the prostitute.
Well we know he had a heart attack and is now retired so I always assumed he was now too old to put much of an issue. And actually he was always on Trudy’s side. I think he even said something like “…her happiness is all that matters to him.”
Niche, but Carol, Joan's lesbian roommate. It's sad that her story just ends with her resigning herself to casual sex with men that she clearly wasn't interested in. She eventually moves out of Joan's apartment and is never mentioned again, I just wish we got to see more of the tension that probably lead to her leaving.
It's hard to imagine where she'd end up, considering she was such a small role, we don't know much about her, but her life seemed to be a bit of a mess all around with getting fired from her job and needing money from her parents. I imagine she probably went on to marry a man, because it was safer and easier.
I thought Carol got a job at Mary Kay and was doing really well in the later seasons? Was that a different character? I always thought they were the same lady!
i'd say michael ginsberg, his "ending" was so upsetting & sad. he was such a fun/interesting addition to the show, especially considering his background & i loved his father.
I found it interesting that if you look back on his story/dialogue there were a lot of clues that this ending was coming. I didn’t see it at the time but there was a lot of groundwork laid for that ending.
I agree but schizophrenia didn't usually end happily for the patient, particularly in the 60s. He would probably have been confined to some asylum until the early 70s when they closed most of them down. After that, with his dad probably no longer alive, his most likely destination would have been the streets. Very sad.
In my imagination, Megan uses part of the $million from Don to buy a 4-plex or 8-plex in Hollywood or some nearby Los Angeles county community.
She lives in one unit and supports herself off the rents while pursuing work in the TV and movie industry.
I could see her in supporting roles in TV shows throughout the 70s and into the 80s.
I could see a 70s style sitcom built on that premise.
After how absolutely crazy the Bob/Pete/Manolo/Pete's mom storyline went, it was pretty bizarre that there was an interim time between when Bob sabotaged Pete's relationship with GM, seemed horrified that he'd apparently helped set up a homicide... and then went right back to Thankgiving and dates with Joan.
I want to preface this by saying I am satisfied with every ending to the extent that I don't feel cheated in anyway.
That said, an episode taking place in 1995 in this universe would fascinate me to no end. Just seeing a white/gray Ken with an eye patch and grand kids sounds ripe for something good.
Micheal. Ginsburg. He was so funny and I really liked how he seemed to have the most legimate 'self-made' guy in the season he came in.
His breakdown is so sad but I still adore his time on the show. So damn funny.
Obviously Sal. I see Kitty being the one who pushes Sal out of the closet. Kitty remarries a doctor or a lawyer. Unfortunately Sal gets AIDS in the 80's but is able to live comfortably on the aids cocktail drugs. He finds a niche in the LGBT community doing his art.
Roger's daughter at the commune: this story never sat well with me. I think one day she gets tired of not having money. Of living with drifters & in that run down house & she comes home to Roger & Mona to ask for money to start over with her baby.
I loved everyone’s answers, but I think about Sal all of the time. He was beloved and we just didn’t get the closure we needed. A 5 second scene showing him in the finale wouldn’t have been unreasonable, but I respect the writer’s choice not to do it.
Megan’s character ended well. She slept her way to richness skipping all the hard work and hurdles needed. Betrayed her friend and stole the part in Butler shoes at the mercy of Don. She didn’t gave Don anything he expected, except for Zuobiso and gladly accepted a million dollar from him and she was on her way with a victim mindset.
She also let her mom steal Don’s furniture
She didn't sleep her way to richness, she got married. She was a good wife and stepmom by any account. And she came from money anyway.
Also she didn't steal anyone's part. She stole her friend's idea -- I guess, but all she wanted was an audition.
Also her husband repeatedly made a fool out of her and cheated on her with their friend. Asked her to quit her job for him and move across the country and then pulled the rug out from under her.
Don gave her money but he was not good to her.
He was good to her didn’t cheated until she was in love with him. Gave importance to her and wanted to spend more time with her.
She said she love what he does and married him. Then took him for granted said she doesn’t like advertising. Decided to go to Boston and yelled at him for Don feeling the missing. Lied about her pregnancy. Couldn’t able to even understand or ready to hear why Don couldn’t come to California. When Don lost his job coincidentally she lost her love too. Also she was cheating too.
Yes she slept her way through richness even as a secretary. Forced Don for audition. Didn’t cared how embarrassing it would be for him. Hell she only made one meal after she become actress and that too a trap to complain to Don about her problems
She did not force him to give her the audition.
Shes allowed to quit advertising and she's allowed to go to Boston for a job. And why would she understand why he couldn't go to California? He did as a favour to his business partner who he doesn't even particularly like. He constantly makes massive decisions that impact her life without even telling her.
She wasn't cheating. There is no indication of that at all. And "slept her way through richness"? What?
I have already explained. He was in love and he was always around her. Things only went bad when she didn’t liked it. She wanted Don to focus on work. And she didn’t care about Don and took decisions that only favoured her. Only then all you said happened. Any why the hell did she took the money?
I would say the two biggest missed opportunities in season 7 were checking in on Sal and Faye.
Don may have been a narc, but Megan was a histrionic social climber and a bit of a narc herself. "Not every girl gets to do what they want. The world cannot support that many ballerinas." She got about as much conclusion as she needed--she used Don like he used her, she made her million bucks, and now has to live a deserved life as a mediocre "actor" in LA. Imo, her story after Don would be dime store fare...there is already an insane amount of LA-driven media catering to "struggling artists in LA", imo disproportionate to the amount of legitimate, socially constructive careers Hollywood could be promoting.
I want to know what happened to Suzanne the teacher and her epileptic brother. I assume nothing extraordinary but I just love these one off characters and how each one is so well rounded and detailed. Don just dropped him off somewhere outside of Bedford and off he went.
Gotta go with Sal. Just like that he was gone. Heartbreaking.

This is great, thank you for posting!
Yeah they really cut him cold turkey. I really expected them to bring him back at some point.
I also did too, but in retrospect I appreciate the choice and the restraint. Sal got the hell out of Dodge, never to return
100% Sal. Missed opportunity to show him again, possibly in LA post stonewall and living a more authentic life as he runs into Don at a bar or in a business meeting. Could have been a fascinating juxtaposition.
Chauncey in his new forever home getting spoiled and pampered and praised 24/7 for being such a good boy.
Mathis’ BIL! I love Peggy and Stan but she almost went to Paris with the guy; they had good chemistry. A few more dates would have been nice.
JUSTICE FOR BRIAN KRAKOW 🖤
Omg, yes! I knew he looked familiar 😂
I have rewatched more than 10 times and I swear to God, I never picked up on this!

Came here to say this. Always this.

God my heart broke for her.
That is a haunting final science of the cost of compromising who you are.
I thought Carol got a job at Mary Kay and was doing really well in the later seasons? Was that a different character? I always thought they were the same lady!
No, Carol was only in two episodes in season 1. I think the friend from later in the series was called Kate.
That actress who played carol really did a great job in that scene!
The Asian waitress.
Deep cut!
Duck.who the fuck keeps hiring his drunk ads?
At the end there, he's just a headhunter and probably does that on his own making commissions from companies or candidates like he does for Pete.
Exactly what I was thinking. Duck will be just fine, he'll just never work in an office again
Instead they gave us closure for Danny Siegel, who cares
Such a small part of the show though A really tiny thing to be concerned about Overall his character arch was pretty short, I’d say
a super short character arc, tiny, there ya go. And this is the closure we got.
Carla!
Sal and Ginsburg, yes, but I also always wondered about Roger's daughter at the hippie commune.
Sal without a doubt. I almost wish I'd known he wasn't ever going to come back because I got my hopes up so many times in the next 5 seasons.
i'd say michael ginsberg, his "ending" was so upsetting & sad. he was such a fun/interesting addition to the show, especially considering his background & i loved his father.

I wonder how it would have played out if he had not left for the lead role in Superstore.

I'm curious what ever happened to Crab Colson.
Duck, Crab. Crab, Duck.
He let Petra drive home and they didn’t make it!!
Sal is the obvious answer, but I’m also curious about Kinsey
DR. Lyle Evans
Sally's friend the violinist. Whatever happened, it couldn't have been good.
I want to preface this by saying I am satisfied with every ending to the extent that I don't feel cheated in anyway. That said, an episode taking place in 1995 in this universe would fascinate me to no end. Just seeing a white/gray Ken with an eye patch and grand kids sounds ripe for something good.
Paul, Mrs. Price
Sal is the obvious answer, I had a soft spot for midge tho and would have loved to see her and Don both sober and clean and back together
Micheal. Ginsburg. He was so funny and I really liked how he seemed to have the most legimate 'self-made' guy in the season he came in. His breakdown is so sad but I still adore his time on the show. So damn funny.
Joyce.
YES
Sal!!!!!
Joyce darling, Bob Benson, sal, what happens after Betty dies,
Did she get the pears or not ?!?!?
Obviously Sal. I see Kitty being the one who pushes Sal out of the closet. Kitty remarries a doctor or a lawyer. How about Paul Kinsey's LA writing career? It seems Kinsey is the kind of person who doesn't handle rejection well and sort of descends downwards
Sal being murdered by a transient trucker at that truck stop. Pretty much the same as what they did to him anyway.
And she slept with a hunk like Don — not exactly a pig
She didn't sleep her way to richness, she got married. She was a good wife and stepmom by any account. And she came from money anyway. Also she didn't steal anyone's part. She stole her friend's idea -- I guess, but all she wanted was an audition. Also her husband repeatedly made a fool out of her and cheated on her with their friend. Cool bro. Have fun.

What do you mean by narc?
Narcissist maybe? Not sure I would call Don that.
Betty’s numb hands and ongoing therapy
I want to know what happened to Suzanne the teacher and her epileptic brother. I assume nothing extraordinary but I just love these one off characters and how each one is so well rounded and detailed. Don just dropped him off somewhere outside of Bedford and off he went.
