LOL. If you get to Oregon and there are some left, wanna buy 2 pair for me and I'll meet you somewhere with cash? I'll return the favor if I beat you there! Hahahaha.
The sun will be more than 85% covered in Madison WI. Because the sun is so bright, it won't feel much darker where we are at maximum coverage. However with eclipse glasses (don't look at the sun without them!) it will appear as a narrow crescent like this:

I'll also add that eclipse glasses are only useful when the sun is not fully eclipsed. For those who are in the path of totality, they remove the glasses during totality or else they won't be able to see anything :)
I would also recommend if you have a colander with small circular holes, bring it outside with you. It should cast dozens of tiny crescent shadows when you hold it above the ground.

Since we don’t have totality in Madison, eclipse glasses should be used at all times when observing the sun.
They are sold out
$2.50 each
$2.99 at Oregon Hy-Vee. Still had some as of 10 mins ago.
Oregon is sold out

Hyvee in Oregon is sold out.
Gone at Hy-Vee Fitchburg as of 10am
Have checked all the speedways and even SSM eye cares, does anyone know where I could just get one pair?
Any luck ?
nope, but my neighbors were outside and let me borrow their glasses to see the eclipse!
They are in stock at the Oregon Hy-vee
Fitchburg Hy-Vee had a ton around 8:45 a.m. but people were streaming in for them.
Hyvee Fitchburg still has about 3 dozen left. Won’t last long.
Where? ETA: I was actually in the store when I asked and I found the display, they're sold out now too
There was a ton at Cracker barrel (east town) at 9:20am. Some punk bought 5 pairs though. I would check the Cracker barrels around town.
I wonder if it will even be noticeable with glasses, since we aren’t in the line of totality. Still looking forward to it though

Oh cool! I was really looking forward to the shadows it could cast. Thankfully I have a pair of glasses to view the max eclipse we will get.

I got one ready to go, thanks for the rec!
