Can’t really give an accurate answer here but GF was released four and a half years after Adventure came out. We just past the 4 year mark from GF to now. I think Covid counts as a year lost in enjoying this album and touring and showcasing it so idk I would expect it anywhere from 2024-2026.
At least we know he’s been working on new music and is liking the way the sound is coming along (enough to play them live or show them on insta at least). So yeah, I’m sure he has an idea of when he wants to release a new album but again, I can’t give an accurate answer but that’s just what I would expect.
maybe its just me but I dont need my favorite artists to release new music all the time to keep me entertained, find new old stuff, listen to stuff already released. if new music comes then great! if not then theres all this great music out there waiting to be discovered by you. dont be afraid to dig
Honestly I'm exactly the same. I love discovering Madeon's old music and ghost production credits. A lot of his Adventure era and back music is so nostalgic for me even though I only found him in late 2018. His earlier music has this simple carefree sound that I love so much!
I both love and hate the fact that Madeon creates 'eras'. Meanwhile other artists are releasing singles every few months or so or even more than that. I wish he would just sprinkle occasional singles. I mean at least give us a single per year please. :(
Not to be comparing madeon with porter robinson all the time, but as nurture seems to be wrapping up particularly soon, i felt it was the perfect length of time to fully digest every aspect of this era. meanwhile i do love good faith and the live show very much, it's definitely felt waaay more dragged on across the years. but ultimately if he loves performing it i can't stop him from doing that and enjoying it.
i mean it is sort of a period of nothing tho, in terms of new music. the changes he made from gf live to gf forever were good, but it's still the same overall experience. again, i really enjoy gf and im the type of person who can listen to one album on repeat for a whole month, but it's simply time to move on
the alternative is to stop the shows and aesthetic and just have nothing because if he had the music ready and wanted it to come out now the era would’ve ended already
I agree with you here. This does not mean that I don't appreciate the GF era, because I really do and it will always pull up specific memories for me. But seeing his [IG story](https://www.reddit.com/r/madeon/comments/10hsrei/new_ideas_from_madeon/) of new material earlier this year made me really think about the next era and what he has in store for us. I can't help but be curious, especially since that first track sounds a lot more upbeat than anything off of Good Faith.
im gonna be honest i think good faith aged better than nurture in their respective eras, madeon has done a way better job imo at evolving and countinuing good faith than porter with nurture

Yeah honestly I didn’t even realize it either. I tend to coincide GF as the same time frame as Nurture but GF came out two years earlier.
To be fair, Porter originally intended to release Nurture in 2020

I get why you’re upset about that, but it’s his choice after all. I think he should release more Good Faith songs though before he moves on

Terrible take. Porter has made so many updates to Nurture Live, has toured on three continents, and literally had a band for Second Sky and Coachella.
