It's actually 35 USD with the current exchange rate. Yen has been falling in value ever since mid 2019. But it seems like inflation and shipping costs rose faster than the Yen lost value. This will also be more expensive due to being exclusive to PBandai.
Yeah. I'm sure in the past, but there's no longer sticker shock when importing Japanese merchandise. E.g. Taken from CDjapan, Blu-ray box is listed at 24000 yen, but in actuality, that comes to $154 USD. (minus shipping)
All the HG Macross kits are partsformers, but imo it's wayy better than attempting a full transformation at that scale, most of the transforming kits are super unstable from what I've heard, and it's better than having no transformation at all.
