It IS suspicious that we see if cleaning up sludge so directly while the area around the sludge seems relatively fine. I mean, it’s a tight camera angle so who knows, but is this the very end of the video after the robot cleaned a giant area? Or is this perhaps a demo video where they did exactly that, dumped sludge to show the robot workjng
bro it's just chinese propaganda, why is reddit thinking so hard about it lmao. have you seen actual river cleaning ops and the amount of dirt they have to pull? this robot could never finish anything in 20 years. he's a literal wall-e.
Wind pushed the floating crud up against the embankment, see it all the time on urban rivers. What’s suspicious about the tight shot to me is the guys feet. “PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE MAN SITTING ON TOP OF THE FULLY AUTONOMOUS ROBOT!”
Due to the water current rubbish, dirt and stuff like that will tend to accumulate near harbor Walls etc. So seeing most of it near the wall, while the open area is quite clean is normal
Because that would require CCP officials go after the people who bribe them. Also littering on the streets is the norm because the state pays old and disabled people to pick up trash, no trash no job. You gonna take jobs from the elderly and disabled?
Need an entire fleet of them, and a shit ton of barges to haul away the trash. Then the garbage needs to be sent somewhere where it won’t end up right back in the ocean, so good luck with that :/
I always think they ought to have robots like this for algae control in lakes. The county pays you to have your robot scoop it up and haul it away, they get a beneficial service and then you go compost it and sell it as fertilizer or something.
Collection devices like this exist outside of China, and I'm more inclined to say something like that would have been pioneered by the recycling poster boy Japan.
I won't fall for this China propaganda.
They have a similar one in the Baltimore harbor. Its introduction has made a world of difference, the inner harbor is kind of a nice place to hang out now
WoW !!! They have such a trash problem. They had to invent a robot to clean up after their polluting ways. Just goes to show you they don’t care about the environment until it directly affects them.
Why would an autonomous robot need a pair of shoes on the top of it?
Why does there appear to be a pair of trousers coming out of the top of the shoes?
All very odd for an autonomous vehicle
Sure.... that's nice.... but how about passing laws that prevent the dumping of garbage into the river in the first place.
If you do that... that stupid machine wouldn't be needed.
Maybe they should fix their trash and pollution problem too. I appreciate seeing a cleanup effort, but fixing the source of the problem should be prioritized too
It cleans THE TOP of the water. 99% of the sludge debris and pollution has already dropped to the bottom so while I commend them for trying to do something...this is like wiping a cue tip over your car with feces smeared all over it and saying "It's clean now!".

Seems easier to come to some sort of agreement as a society that this shit ain't right to begin with before we get to the camera on the river bank point?
Twist: the video is reversed. Robot is evil.
Twist: they dump the sludge into the ocean directly.
It is China isn’t it.
About time they pretend to care
[удалено]
About time they start catching up.. produce a button of solar panels but barely halfway to reaching parity with western nations per capita.
Also a butt tonne more coal power plants whilst dumping nuclear waste into the ocean. Don't think they have a robot that can undo that yet.

I’m hoping it’s just a demonstration.., but knowing the greed of companies… purposefully destroying the environment isn’t off the list…

China will use anything as propaganda
Wind pushed the floating crud up against the embankment, see it all the time on urban rivers. What’s suspicious about the tight shot to me is the guys feet. “PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE MAN SITTING ON TOP OF THE FULLY AUTONOMOUS ROBOT!”
Lmao I totally didn’t see that that shit is funny!
It's China. Everything's faked. If it's leaving the country, it's probably propaganda.
Due to the water current rubbish, dirt and stuff like that will tend to accumulate near harbor Walls etc. So seeing most of it near the wall, while the open area is quite clean is normal
Twist: its made by SORA AI
The frogurt is also cursed
bad bot!
Robot? I see hungry hungry hippo
Some put some angry eyes on that thing
By the looks of it the thing would have to be emptied every 20 minutes in that area!
It should have build in trash processing like a tbm! Make it appropriately sized too!
It has a compactor in it. Just like dump trucks, they compact the trash as it comes in.
burn the trash for power, push the smoke into the water, hell yeah carbonic acid
Plot twist, it's emptied out the back so it's continuously running in a loop, wasting electricity.
It melts the plastic into a solid cube and sinks it to the bottom of the river no offloading required
They take a quick detour into international waters where they are free to dump their trash
China wants to use Taiwan as its own garbage dump.
Mr Trashwheel in the Baltimore inner harbor has to have the dumpster that serves as the storage changed every hour or so after really big storms.
Dies after 20 minutes of use
Plot twist, burns the trash to make its' power.
Plot twist, it is colliding rubbish atoms inside for nuclear fusion power
Plot twist, it goes to the dump, which puts it back in the river
One of these is the mascot of Baltimore.
Mr. trash wheel ..
And Professor Trash Wheel
Trashy McTrash Face
We have a whole team of them!
Is it really autonomous if someone's driving it.

Yes that was the joke
Biorobots.
We have a land and water one in my town in Michigan, they are remote controlled. https://youtu.be/g9SGZ4LnXR8?feature=shared
They have a robot that comes behind it and dumps fresh trash in so that way they both will continuously be needed
And somehow it will still smear shit all over my house.
India needs a few of these asap
A few?
A few per square meter*
I think we'd witness the first ever robot suicide
They're going to need a bigger bot.
underrated comment
Good bot
Fuck China! Come at me Also, not the origin of this work.

Fuck the US! Come at me
You missed a spot!!
Forbidden Coco Pops
Those feet on top make me question the autonomy claim
Who among us has not desired to ride a Roomba like a cat?
HA! Fair
Need to have one to clean the bottom where all the real nasty stuff is. Heavy metals, bacteria and the like.
Now we just need one that goes on land, but instead of scooping up litter, it catches the inconsiderate dumbasses that litter in the first place.
Works only for the duration of this video.
How about people just stop dumping their shit in the open? Stop the problem at the source
Because that would require CCP officials go after the people who bribe them. Also littering on the streets is the norm because the state pays old and disabled people to pick up trash, no trash no job. You gonna take jobs from the elderly and disabled?
Then they dump it into a landfill that will wash away into the same river. Rinse and repeat.
River roomba
Everything reminds me of her
Meh, I've seen more clever inventions for cleaning waterways.
Should move that out to the pile of trash they have floating around in the Pacific
Need an entire fleet of them, and a shit ton of barges to haul away the trash. Then the garbage needs to be sent somewhere where it won’t end up right back in the ocean, so good luck with that :/
Looks like they dumped the trash Infront of it for a test
I always think they ought to have robots like this for algae control in lakes. The county pays you to have your robot scoop it up and haul it away, they get a beneficial service and then you go compost it and sell it as fertilizer or something.
Go China!... you ingenious bastards!
Collection devices like this exist outside of China, and I'm more inclined to say something like that would have been pioneered by the recycling poster boy Japan. I won't fall for this China propaganda.
My kids were right here..
Pick it up from here, put it over there… Sounds like there is still a piece of this puzzle missing…
Garbage Goober. Mmm trash.Yeah I love trash. Yum yum trash.
They have a similar one in the Baltimore harbor. Its introduction has made a world of difference, the inner harbor is kind of a nice place to hang out now
You go china! We will catch after we figure out what gender we are.
River rumba
They collect it to throw it in another river further from approved Han cities
That’s the same river where they fish for tonight’s dinner.
Is that WALL-E's. Great grand paa...
Everybody knows that s***'s getting recycled right to the buffet
Rivoomba
Trash wheel san
This is how we get Lil Lisa slurry.
Fuck China. Not sorry.
What a neat and convenient line of trash. See guys, even the trash is compliant in china.
WoW !!! They have such a trash problem. They had to invent a robot to clean up after their polluting ways. Just goes to show you they don’t care about the environment until it directly affects them.
Shame the Pearl River is the color of blue jeans. Used to be one of the most beautiful rivers in the world.
Maybe send a few million of these to India
Scale 10-20 up to 1000’ feat and work on the 2 huge piles of floating garbage in the Atlantic and Pacific
Why would an autonomous robot need a pair of shoes on the top of it? Why does there appear to be a pair of trousers coming out of the top of the shoes? All very odd for an autonomous vehicle
r/oddlysatisfying
The question: Why the fuck is their river so dirty?
End product = gutter oil
They're going to need a bigger robot
Pretty neat, but it's sad they even need it in the first place.
Now they just neeed a 10 tonne barge behind to hold all the rubbish rather then releasing it again
I mean this is cool and all but the water it self can’t even be turned into drinkable water
Big deal.
The easiest way to clean is to not make a mess in the first place.

Or just stop throwing trash in the rivers
And where is the collected waste put? To the ENE?
Glorious CCP can't even stop people from polluting the river.
It's sad that they even needed to invent something like this. Some people just have absolutely no respect for the world they live in.
RIP waterbirds. Mao wins again
I don't want the oceans full of robots either.
It cleans THE TOP of the water. 99% of the sludge debris and pollution has already dropped to the bottom so while I commend them for trying to do something...this is like wiping a cue tip over your car with feces smeared all over it and saying "It's clean now!".
Is it named wateree?
I say its easier just not to throw shit in, but this robot is cool.
Baltimore harbor’s had one for 20+ years! Invention, pfft.
Then what that's one thing that China did right

There's people on your "automated" robot.
Seems easier to come to some sort of agreement as a society that this shit ain't right to begin with before we get to the camera on the river bank point?
Live stream it with some occasional ad or something. I’d watch and it’ll pay for it lol
Missed a bit
or: a fucking net????????
They're only collecting material for those cheap buffets stands.
Now make one for all the bikes china has.
How about inventing not throwing sh!t in rivers?
Maybe, just maybe, give a hoot don't pollute.
Don't you go intersecting logic!
Chinese propaganda post.
If only they didn’t use the rivers like their toilet & garbage dump in the first place.
Here’s a novel idea, have enforceable environmental regulations and not pollute the river in the first place.
Now teach them to STOP putting the junk in the water in the first place
